Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for April 6, 2024

In memory of James Thurber, aka "Gentleman" Jim Casey, 1952 - 2024.

Barnabas the Leader shows up to start today's show and announce that The Circuz (Barnabas the Leader and Maurice the Strong). He introduces Maurice the Strong, then announces that time is rapidly running out for the biggest, the hungriest, the baddest, and the one who stole months from Maurice's career and shutting down their big top. He says that this person stole everything from them, and today, they take everything from them, for Maurice the Strong evokes his championship match clause, and in today's main event, it will be for the Memphis Wrestling Heritage Championship as Maurice ends K-Toomer forever. Barnabas then says he will take K-Toomer's heart, soul and title.

"Mr. All Day" Will Allday retains the Reality of Wrestling Heavyweight Championship against Mike Anthony. David Knight is the referee for this championship match.

Backstage, we hear from The Hollywood Clique ("Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, Van Viciouss, Secret Service). Blaylock and Van Viciouss blame Matchmaker King Cobra for keeping Viciouss off the Cobra Cup Tournament, putting Blaylock's contract on the line and inviting "The Cowboy" James Storm to crash their victory party, and Blaylock says he will file a formal complaint against King Cobra as he demands a face-to-face meeting. He also calls Assistant Matchmaker Michael "a lunatic."

The Righteous Path (Brother Bruce and "Righteous" Ryan Rembrandt) beat The Top Gunz (Brandon Beretta and Joey Vinetti). (The masked man is now known as "Morrow.") After the match, Dustin Starr interviews Reverend Ash Taylor at the announce desk. Ash Taylor says he gave "The GunShow" Brett Michaels a chance to join them only for him to tear up the pamphlet. He says that Brett Michaels is in for a world of hurt, as they are stronger and more righteous than him.

We hear from K-Toomer. He says he finds it funny that The Circuz (Barnabas the Leader and Maurice the Strong) talk about time as if it can be manipulated to their will and make videos about how there will be repercussions for his actions. He says he actions were really retaliation for The Circuz trying to make a name at his expense, then tells The Circuz that he accepts their challenge and that The Circuz will be shut down for good.

We hear from Matchmaker King Cobra and Assistant Matchmaker Michael. King Cobra tells Michael not to worry about "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, as he lies every time that he moves his mouth, and to do what he has to do. Michael thanks King Cobra for the advice, but says he does not know if he can let this go. King Cobra says they are doing the right thing and that Blaylock always complains, and Michael entertains the idea of wrapping him up in the bureaucracy and red tape that they have to deal with to see how it feels. The two of them agree that they have time to meet Blaylock face to face.

Diana Taylor beats Raven Black.

We see footage of Tim Bosby and "All The Way" Ray Collins training in the WrestleCenter ring.

The O'Neal Brothers (Steven and Devin O'Neal) beat The L.A. Hustlers (Notorious Bradley and Ruffshot Lamont). During the match, Ray Ray Sanders and Derrick King show up to watch from ringside, and it is not long before Notorious Bradley notices them. Their presence also distracts Ruffshot Lamont, and Steven O'Neal pins Notorious Bradley with a schoolkid pin for the win. After the match, The L.A. Hustlers get in an argument with Derrick and Ray Ray, and referees and officials have to step in before things get physical.

We see a vignette for The Twins of Salem (Jacksyn Crowley and Abel Booker), where the two of them are sucked into a striped box after a had with a ticket lures them in. The box closes, then catches aflame. As this goes on, there is a doll dressed like a clown on top of the box.

Barnabas the Leader introduces Maurice the Strong during the championship announcements.

K-Toomer retains the Memphis Wrestling Heritage Championship against Maurice the Strong by disqualification. David Knight is the referee for this championship match. During the match, Barnabas the Leader gets in the ring, and as he does, a slim, long-haired figure slides into the ring as Maurice gets his hammer. The slim figure is Jacksyn Crowley in clown make-up, and Abel Booker, also in clown makeup, soon joins him. The Twins of Salem gang up on K-Toomer so that Maurice the Strong can hit K-Toomer in the back of the head with his hammer. The Circuz, now four strong, celebrate in the ring.
