Generation NXT - NXT recap for April 2, 2024

Nathan Frazer and Axiom beat The Latino World Order (Joaquin Wilde and Cruz del Toro) and The O.C. (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match to face Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin for the NXT Tag Team Championships at Stand & Deliver. After the match, Kelly Kincaid interviews Nathan Frazer and Axiom. Frazer says they have never slowed down since they are started, and that they will not stop. Axiom says they are unstoppable, and says they will become tag team champions as Breakker and Corbin stand on the balcony.

We hear from Lexis King, who says that Von Wagner cannot even take care of himself, much less him, and that Mr. Stone has been trying to guide him in the right direction and that Von Wagner could not do anything without Mr. Stone. He says Von Wagner cannot hang with him and that he will beat him.

Ilja Dragunov finds out that a wheel clamp is on the front passenger side wheel of his car. A black SUV shows up to pick up Dragunov, courtesy of Tony D'Angelo, and one of the men says it is a shame Dragunov did not pay his parking tickets and insists on taking a ride and not leaving D'Angelo waiting when Dragunov says he will find his own way.

Jacy Jayne beats Fallon Henley after Thea Hail and Kelani Jordan brawl on the outside with Kiana James and Izzi Dame. After the match, Jacy Jayne says it is great to be back on top and that she pretended to be Thea Hail's friend to do it. She says she was never Thea's friend and that she did everything that she did to regain her spotlight, and now she is back to where she should be: the attraction of NXT. After Jacy and company leaves, Thea, Kelani and Fallon show up angry, and General Manager Ava puts them in a six-man tag match with Kiana, Izzi and Jacy at Stand & Deliver.br />

We see a vignette for Josh Briggs. Josh Briggs says that JBL gave him some good advice by telling him to show NXT who he really is, and that he will stand on his own two feet and deliver the fight of his career.

Lexis King beats Von Wagner.

Backstage, General Manager Ava meets with Carmelo Hayes and tells him that the referee will use discretion in his match with Trick Williams, as there must be a winner. She also mentions there are extra referees and security in case things go out of hand.

Backstage, Natalya talks strategy with Karmen Petrovic regarding her match with Lola Vice. Roxanne Perez shows up and says that three months, she would listen to everything Natalya would say, but now she does not need her or her former heroes.

Backstage, Arianna Grace is met by Wren Sinclair, and Arianna shows off her gowns, which she has brought out for Gigi Dolin. When Wren says Gigi looks great as she is and that she thought pageants were not about fitting into a standard beauty box, Arianna takes offense and leaves with her gowns.

Lola Vice beats Karmen Petrovic with the Sharpshooter to spite Natalya.

Ilja Dragunov is dropped off at the site of his dinner with Tony D'Angelo, and the men there not only for D'Angelo, but are also using woodworking tools. The men surround D'Angelo as he sits down at a lone table in the warehouse. The D'Angelo Family (Tony D'Angelo, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Arianne Rizzo, Luca Crusifino) shows up, and Tony D'Angelo sits down with Ilja Dragunov.

It's time for Supernova Sessions. Tonight's guests are Lyra Valkyria and Roxanne Perez. Roxanne is introduced first, followed by Lyra. Lyra's arm is not in a sling as she heads to the ring. Roxanne says that on Saturday, she will get back the title that she never lost, and Lyra says Roxanne is not champion because Indi Hartwell climbed a ladder faster than her. She says that Roxanne blames everyone but herself for her failure and calls Roxanne hypocritical for being okay with suddenly winning a title only to be angry when Lola tries to do it. Roxanne tells Lyra not to talk about her like she knows her, then says she will knock her off her high horse and all the way down and see how her moral compass is then. She says she is a whole new person, and now she has it in her to snap her arm. She says that losing the NXT Women's Championship did not make her snap; instead, it made her more dangerous. Lyra tells Roxanne to save the excuses and that she is in for a fight Saturday, and tells her that while she wins, all Roxanne does is bitch. She then says Roxanne will have a lot more to bitch about after Stand & Deliver. Roxanne stands up and says Lyra wants to be seen as "the perfect champion," then says there is no perfect champion and that she has a whole year of rage pent out to let out on Saturday. Roxanne slaps Lyra, and Lyra fires back by putting Roxanne through a table with a Death Valley Driver.

We hear from Dijak, who says that he hands out justice with great conviction and reckless abandon. He says he is back in NXT to collect championship gold and prove that he is the big man in NXT. Backstage, Oba Femi tells Josh Briggs and Dijak that he will prove why he is North American Champion before heading to the ring.

Backstage, General Manager Ava is seen telling Trick Williams what she told Carmelo Hayes earlier tonight.

Before the next match, Joe Gacy is attacked with a metal folding chair by Shawn Spears.

Oba Femi vs. Joe Gacy ends in a no contest after Joe Gacy is injured during the match. Oba Femi retains the NXT North American Championship.

Backstage, Tatum Paxley wants to know what is going with Lyra Valkyria when she shows up, saying this is not the Lyra she knows. Lyra says Tatum may be right, but she will do whatever it takes to retain the NXT Women's Championship.

Arianna Grace beats Wren Sinclair after grabbing the ropes during the bridge pin in the corner.

Back at the warehouse, Tony D'Angelo thanks Ilja Dragunov for coming and tells him he has taken care of the wheel clamp. Dragunov admits he is impressed with D'Angelo's mind games, but also knows what the warehouse represents. D'Angelo says the warehouse represents the end of Dragunov's title reign, and Dragunov says that while people have claimed they will beat him, nobody has done it. D'Angelo says he is not just anybody, but Dragunov reminds D'Angelo that he himself has called him unbreakable and that he will leave NXT Champion. D'Angelo grabs Dragunov's hand and says he could have taken him out any time he wanted to and could do so right now, but he will wait until the fans watch on Saturday when he breaks the unbreakable and leaves as NXT Champion. D'Angelo then summons a covered tray and tells Dragunov to enjoy his last supper while he and his family leave.

Sol Ruca beats Blair Davenport with a schookid pin to counter a knee to the face.

Backstage, Dijak meets with Josh Briggs and asks him if he saw what he did to Joe Gacy, then both men argue over who will become champion. Oba Femi says neither of them will win it and that he will remain champion.

Backstage, a hurt Joe Gacy shows up at General Manager Ava's desk, wanting Shawn Spears at Stand & Deliver. Ava makes it the pre-show match.

Carmelo Hayes heads to the ring with his security detail. Trick Williams soon shows up and joins him, and says they should both be happy that they are main eventing the biggest show of the year, then says it should not have been this way due to the bond they had. He says that as happy as he is, he is going to war with someone he used to call his brother. Carmelo says Trick came a long way, and Trick says that he was nervous and did not know if he belonged in the business, but he looked to his side and saw Carmelo with him. Carmelo says it was once them against the world, but now they are facing each other with the whole world watching and that the whole world will watch like when Trick ruined everything. Trick says Carmelo ruined everything, but Carmelo says he did "when the hero tells the story." He also says that Trick tried to go around his back to become NXT Champion as he tried to get the North American Championship back. He says that Trick went from being his brother to his enemy, but Trick says they both knew he was blowing up and he had to take a chance on himself, with Carmelo being happy with this. Carmelo says he paved a way for Trick, but Trick wanted to believe the hype and think he was ready for a position that was not open for him, as that position was and still is his and Trick will always take a back seat to him. Trick says his days of taking a back seat are long gone, and Carmelo says Trick used to be so humble before stating Trick was hot for six months while he was hot for three years. He tells Trick the fans will love him when he is on the rise, but soon the fans will "Switch on him like Nintendo," but Trick chalks everything up to jealousy that is written all over Carmelo's face. Carmelo says he does not care what the fans think of him and that only he will be in the ring with him when he learns the hard why he has been on top for so long. Trick says Carmelo already learned the hard way, and that he will be the one to knock him off the hill. Carmelo and Trick brawl, and security fails to hold them both back. The locker room rushes the ring to stop the brawl as the show ends.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
