Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for December 7, 2023

Billie Starkz beats Dani Mo. After the match, Billie is attacked from behind by Athena. Security and officials move in before Athena hits Billie with a vertical suplex into the ring post, and it takes a while for the brawl to be stopped.

We hear from Wheeler Yuta and "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson. Wheeler Yuta says that Final Battle is coming and that they want to bring the fight. A hoarse-voiced Danielson says Final Battle has meant so much to his career, as the 2009 event was the one time that he wrestled Jay Briscoe, who had his last match in ROH history at Final Battle before his untimely passing - the greatest dog collar match in history - last year. He proposes that The Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli, Yuta, Jon Moxley, Danielson) face FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Mark Briscoe and says they will bring the fight like Jay wanted.

Dalton Castle beats Johnny TV. During the match, Taya Valkyrie shows up, but is blocked by The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate), whom she tackles. This allows Johnny TV to nearly beat a distracted Dalton Castle soon afterwards, but when Dalton Castle runs into Taya Valkyrie, Taya distracts a now-angered Dalton again. All of a sudden, Kiera Hogan shows up and yanks Taya Valkyrie off the apron, allowing Dalton to hit the Bang-a-Rang for the win.

Rachael Ellering beats Nikki Victory. During the match, Maria Kanellis-Bennett and "Legit" Leyla Hirsch show up to cheer Rachael on, much to Rachael's irritation, and Maria nearly costs Rachael the match by grabbing her foot.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Athena, who says that Billie Starks betrayed them and all of the Minions out there before demanding that Lexy "admit" that she loved the post-match attack from earlier. She then says that she has found out that she and Billie Starkz will be main eventing Final Battle and that Lexy Nair will be the special guest ring announcer for the match before they head to T.G.I.Friday's.

The Workhorsemen (JD Drake and Anthony Henry) beat The Infanty ("The Captain" Shawn Dean and "Bad News and Tattoos" Carlie Bravo).

Lady Frost and Trish Adora beat The Renegades (Charlette and Robyn Renegade).

Backstage, Rachael Ellering confronts Maria Kanellis-Bennett and "Legit" Leyla Hirsch for nearly costing her tonight's match. Leyla says she will give Maria the benefit of the doubt, and Maria says Rachael should too before she leaves. Leyla admits she has been a hothead, but she sees that Rachael has her back and can give Rachael her word that she will have hers. Rachael and Leyla fist bump afterwards.

Lee Johnson beats "The Technical Beast" Josh Woods in an ROH World Television Championship Survival of the Fittest qualifier.

The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) beat The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum).

"Taiga Style" Lee Moriarty beats "Hot Sauce" Tracy Williams in an ROH World Television Championship Survival of the Fittest qualifier.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Dalton Castle. Dalton says he feels like he is walking on air after qualifying for the Survival of the Fittest match and that the fans will get a championship who is made for television. He says nobody is more ready for television than him, then Johnny TV shows up and calls Dalton Castle "stale" before the two of them list off several television shows. Taya Valkyrie shows up and says Dalton Castle does not compare to Johnny TV when it took an army for him to beat Johnny, and that Dalton will never be like Johnny.

The Butcher and The Blade beat The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate).

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Maria Kanellis-Bennett, Griff Garrison and Cole Karter. Garrison says that the chemistry between himself and Karter is there, but that they seem to have run into some tough competition as of late. Karter says they have been a team for four months and have no new gear. Maria Kanellis-Bennett says something has to change, then tries to see a new theme song into her phone before going to work on it. Garrison is impressed.

Angelico beats "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels with the knee bar. After the match, Daniels beats up Serpentico, causing Angelico and Serpentico to attack Daniels before Orange Cassidy and Danhausen show up. Danhausen gets in the ring and tries to curse Angelico, but curses Serpentico instead, and Orange hits Serpentico with the Orange Punch. Angelico then gets back in the ring to hit Orange with a chop block to the ankle, then retreats.

Tony Khan oversees a contract signing for "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese vs. "All Ego" Ethan Page at Final Battle. Tony Nese and "Smart" Mark Sterling appear first, followed by Ethan Page. It is then announced that the match will be an "I Quit" Match. Sterling says he and Nese made sure that their stipuation was added because they both thought it was very apropos that Ethan Page would quit to Tony Nese like he has quit every single thing he has ever done in his entire life. He then goes on make fun of Ethan Page's weight and says that in three months time, he will gain all the way back when he quits his weight loss journey like he has quit everything else. Tony Nese then signs the contract. Ethan Page says that when he came to Ring of Honor, he had a goal in mind to become a champion in the company, and while he thinks the world of Tony Nese and would say anything about losing to a performer like him, but that was before Nese and Sterling decided to derail his winning streak and take a championship opportunity. He says that he will make Nese quit and that Nese will move on him from while surrounded by idiots giving him bad advice. Ethan then says that he will go on to become a champion while Nese will be thanking Sterling for his best victory when he beat him one time. He tells Nese to enjoy the next two weeks, because when he moves away from him, so does the spotlight. Ethan then signs the contract, then Nese calls Ethan delusional, a quitter and a loser, then says Sterling came with a solution only for Ethan to create a problem. He says he never wanted to help Ethan because he is a loser like the fans and is "beyond helping." Nese tells Ethan to make sure he always takes his protein before Sterling throws a jar of protein powder to the eyes, blinding Ethan. Ethan Page fights back, but Sterling hits him with a chop block and allows Nese to hit Ethan Page with the Running Nese. Nese says that when Ethan quits, he will admit he is a fat loser who does not belong in his ring. He then puts Ethan through a table.

Kyle Fletcher beats Gravity in an ROH World Television Championship Survival of the Fittest qualifier.
