Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for December 1, 2023

Bianca Belair heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Bianca thanks the members of her Survivor Series team for helping her getting the win, then says she is still coming for Iyo Sky because she wants her title back. Suddenly, Damage CTRL (Iyo Sky, Dakota Kai, Asuka, Kairi Sane) shows up. Dakota Kai says it is great how Bianca gets all the people to cheer for her, then asks who would want to love in Brooklyn, New York before telling Bianca that Iyo has beaten her twice and that she has to go through all of Damage CTRL to get another shot. As Bianca asks who wants another shot, Charlotte Flair and Shotzi show up. Charlotte says she would love to go through all of Damage CTRL, and Shotzi says there is enough to go around before she and Charlotte run into the ring. Bianca, Charlotte and Shotzi come out on top in the ensuing brawl, and Damage CTRL is forced to retreat.

Next week is Tribute To The Troops 2023 on SmackDown!

Backstage, Bayley meets up with the rest of Damage CTRL (Iyo Sky, Dakota Kai, Asuka, Kairi Sane), wondering why everyone else was in the ring without her. Dakota Kai lets Bayley know that Kairi Sane has a match tonight and that Kairi would appreciate Bayley's help.

Before the next match, Bobby Lashley tells Butch that he told him to make a name himself before telling him he will break him into pieces. When Lashley asks Butch if he ready for that, Butch slaps him in the face, starting the match.

Bobby Lashley beats Butch.

Backstage, General Manager Nick Aldis is met by Paul Heyman. Heyman is annoyed about Randy Orton being invited to SmackDown, and Nick Aldis says he intends to sign Randy Orton to a SmackDown-exclusive contract tonight. Heyman asks if Roman Reigns knows about this, and Aldis tells Heyman that all communication to Roman goes through Heyman thanks to an e-mail he has read, and that he will go so far as to trade The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa) to get the deal done. When Aldis asks if he will do anything about it, Heyman says "Anything it takes."

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Butch about Ridge Holland walking out on him last week. Butch says it is not about The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Ridge, Butch) any more and that he must focus on himself, then Pretty Deadly show up and mock him. Butch then brawls with them only to get overpowered and mocked again.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Santos Escobar. Escobar says he is only finishing what Rey Mysterio started when he picked Carlito over him, and that Joaquin Wilde and Cruz del Toro are blinded and have no idea Rey will do the same thing to him. He says that if Joaquin Wilde cannot see the truth, he will put him on the shelf right now.

Santos Escobar beats Joaquin Wilde. After the match, Escobar attacks Wilde again, then Dragon Lee runs into the ring and chases Escobar out before checking on Wilde. Escobar tries to ambush Lee from behind, but Lee gets the upper hand.

Backstage, General Manager Nick Aldis is met by Raw General Manager Adam Pearce and finds out Aldis is planning on signing Randy Orton to a SmackDown contract. Pearce produces a Raw contract and says he will join Aldis, then leaves.

Logan Paul heads to the ring. He says that for everyone who stabbed him in the back or prayed for his downfall, he asks where they are now, for the more they hope he fails, the harder he works, the more he wins and the more he gets to celebrate. He also sticks it to everyone in the back who is mad at him for being the fastest-rising star in WWE, then says that since Rey Mysterio is injured, he and Nick Aldis have created a eight-man tournament with the winner facing him for the United States title. After Logan announces that Santos Escobar, Dragon Lee, Karrion Kross, Bobby Lashley, Austin Theory, Kevin Owens, Grayson Waller and an unknown NXT Superstar will be in the tournament, Owens shows up. Owens calls Logan being in his ring a nightmare, and says that ever since he first saw Logan on Vine, he always thought of him as a jackass. After calling Prime a "crap drink," he says he will end that nightmare and number Logan's days as champion. Logan says Owens may be a prizefighter, he has been with the best boxer in the world, and six seconds is five more than he needs to knock Owens out. Owens admits Logan is clever, but says that boxing and wrestling are different worlds and that WWE is his world. Suddenly, Grayson Waller and Austin Theory shows up. Waller says that Logan need not engage with Owens and that he, Waller and Theory have a lot in common. As Theory tells Owens that his days of punching people in the face are numbered, Owens punches Theory in the face.

Logan Paul guests on commentary for the next match.

Kevin Owens beats Grayson Waller after Waller stuffs Owens' hand in a turnbuckle and attempts to kick it and further injure it only for Owens to pull his hand out, roll away and stack Waller up for the win.

Backstage, Bayley looks apprehensive, and Iyo Sky tells her to stay backstage tonight while she, Dakota Kai and Asuka accompany Kairi Sane.

Bianca Belair beats Kairi Sane after Bayley - who shows up near the end of the match to support Kairi after Charlotte Flair, Shotzi, Dakota Kai and Asuka are all ejected from ringside - shows up and inadvertently distracts Kairi as she goes for the In-Sane Elbow, allowing Bianca to hit the K.O.D. for the win.

Raw General Manager Adam Pearce and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis are in the ring. Nick Aldis welcomes back Randy Orton, who heads to the ring. Pearce and Aldis speak over each other as they try to get Orton to sign with them, with Pearce promising a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship and Aldis promising revenge The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa), when Paul Heyman shows up. Heyman notes that Orton wants revenge against The Bloodline, but notices that there will be RKOs or decisions tonight as The Bloodline will make the decision for him. Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa show up and attack Orton, then LA Knight shows up and evens the numbers game. As LA Knight and Solo Sikoa brawl their way to the back, Randy Orton gives Jimmy Uso a beating that ends with an RKO. Orton asks for both contracts, then takes them both before throwing the Raw contract out of the ring, signing the SmackDown contract and laying it on Jimmy Uso. Orton then tells Heyman to call Roman Reigns and tell him "Daddy's back."As Aldis celebrates with Randy Orton, Orton hits Aldis with an RKO.

This week on The SmackDown LowDown: Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince)! Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford)! Charlotte Flair!
