Generation NXT 2.0 - NXT 2.0 recap for November 23, 2021

The show starts early with Grayson Waller cutting off the intro early. He says that Tommaso Ciampa is larger than life, but is not a Superstar like him. He also brings up John Cena and The Rock, saying the fans booed them out of WWE. He also says that the fans booed Roman Reigns and he ended up being the head of the table, then says people on social media do not matter and that Superstars do. Suddenly, Ciampa shows up for the next match.

Tommaso Ciampa beats Grayson Waller.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews LA Knight. Knight says that Grayson Waller sucks, then Joe Gacy shows up and says Knight's facts are destructive and terrible, and that they should build each other up, not tear each other down. LA Knight says the only thing building up is his wanting to tear Gacy down, but Gacy says that "their safe space" is "out there." LA Knight tells Joe Gacy he has no problem beating him in the ring.

In footage from earlier today, Mandy Rose says Cora Jade does not even belong in the same ring as her as she talks to the rest of Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne). Dakota Kai joins them as they soon see trash can lids and chains on the floor. When they leave, Kay Lee Ray shows up, saying that the trash can lids and chains are her doing.

Cameron Grimes heads to the ring, and he shows up with shorter hair and a more serious mood. Grimes says he grew up in a very small town in North Carolina, and every day, people would push him down and tell him he was not good enough. He showed them he was good enough and that if he scratched and clawed, he could hold it down. He says that he made it in the industry and even struck it rich, but through all that, he kept his head and beard to remind himself of his beginnings and his struggles. He says Duke Hudson took all that away from him and embarrassed and humiliated him, but he messed up by making him angry. Cameron Grimes then calls Duke Hudson out. We then see Duke Hudson at a stylist's table, asking why Cameron Grimes is mad when he took a lot of money in the process and gave him a free haircut, saying he did him a favor. Cameron tells him to come to the ring to settle things, but Hudson declines. Cameron says he gave Hudson a chance to show how brave he is, but he proved to be "gutless and nutless." Cameron Grimes then challenges Duke Hudson to a hair vs. hair match at WarGames. Hudson, not minding taking a little more off the top, accepts the challenge, then produces a bag of Cameron's hair and beard and says he will take the rest.

We hear from Pete Dunne, saying he has waited too long to hold a championship and that it changes tonight. He says he will put Johnny Gargano out and send him packing and that it is time he made Carmelo Hayes pay his dues as he becomes North American Champion.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta. Indi says that Dexter Lumis' hand is fractured and that Dexter will be out for a month. Indi says Carmelo took away Lumis' ability to draw too, and she hopes Johnny Gargano beats Carmelo tonight. When Persia asks Indi if she wants to sit the next match out, Indi says she is okay and dedicates the match to Dexter.

We see a vignette for Tiffany Stratton, who brags about her father paying for all her tennis lessons to the point that she has the best serve in the country club and that she was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth because "silver is tacky." She says her father has stated she is ready for NXT, and that her father is never wrong.

Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter beat Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta when it becomes apparent that Indi's mind and heart are more focused on Dexter Lumis than the match.

We see a video package of Legado del Fantasma's (Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Raul Mendoza, Elektra Lopez) recent actions before Legado del Fantasma head to the ring.

Andre Chase gives the students of Chase U a tour of the arena when Andre Chase sees Cameron Grimes and makes fun of Cameron's recent woes. Cameron tells Andre Chase to go to hell.

Santos Escobar beats Malik Blade. After the match, Elektra Lopez says nobody says "no" to Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Raul Mendoza, Elektra Lopez) and that they offered Xyon Quinn the offer of a lifetime only for them to beat him up, saying they never needed him anyway. She says Legado del Fantasma is stronger than ever now that Santos Escobar is back, then Von Wagner and Kyle O'Reilly show up. O'Reilly says they want the NXT Tag Team Championships, but Raul Mendoza says they beat them. Von Wagner says his foot was on the rope and that they have unfinished business, then Imperium (Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel) shows up on the nearby balcony. Marcel Barthel says that the fans are not only more ignorant, but much less intelligent for not knowing Italian and that everyone should be ashamed of themselves for fighting like little children. Barthel says none of them can stop them, and Fabian Aichner says the age of Imperium will continue no matter what, then tells everyone to fight over themselves so they can face the winners at WarGames.

Zoey Stark, Io Shirai and Raquel Gonzalez try to talk with Cora Jade about co-existing when they argue with each other. Cora Jade tells them to go find a fourth member for their WarGames while she kicks some Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne) ass.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Tony D'Angelo, who says that he has bets on the North American Championship Triple Threat Match and that his money is on Carmelo Hayes. He then says he can turn McKenzie Mitchell's ring from one carat to two carats, and all she has to do is call his booker.

Cora Jade beats Mandy Rose after Kay Lee Ray shows up and distracts Mandy Rose, allowing Cora Jade to win with a schoolkid pin.

We hear from Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams. Trick says the disrespect stops tonight, but Carmelo says it stopped last week. Carmelo says that it is not about experience, saying that he is the one with everything to lose and that he is keeping Pete Dunne and Johnny Gargano relevant. He says that tonight, he will call his shot and he will not miss.

We hear from Joe Gacy, who says that connection needs two people and that he needs to open the eyes of the blind as Harlan puts his hand on Gacy's shoulder.

Backstage, Cora Jade asks Raquel Gonzalez, Io Shirai and Zoey Stark if they knew Kay Lee Ray would show up. Kay Lee Ray shows up and says that she is in as their fourth member.

Joe Gacy vs. L.A. Knight ends before it can begin when Knight is attacked from behind by Grayson Wallter. Multiple referees have to stop the brawl, then Joe Gacy takes the microphone and apologizes for not showing Knight how to handle his anger issues peacefully. Before he can say more, Diamond Mine shows up. Malcolm Bivens says that since Joe Gacy tried to take their spotlight last week, Diamond Mine will do the same tonight, and tells Gacy to step out of their ring as Ivy Nile has a match to attend to. Gacy respects that the show must go on, but he has no respect for Roderick Strong, as Strong's name alone is an example of toxic masculinity and the Cruiserweight Championship an example of exclusivity and weight shaming. As he calls the title and the Cruiserweight Division triggering to those of a certain body type, and says the division is meant to divine. Strong says he fears no one, and that he does not care about him or any weight limit. Roderick Strong says his next money match is with Joe Gacy, and tells Malcolm Bivens to make it happen. Malcolm Bivens says the contract for their match is signed, sealed and delivered for WarGames, saying Strong will beat Gacy "like a Lil Jon track." Joe Gacy says he looks forward to settling their issues as one, but when Malcolm Bivens sends The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) at Joe Gacy, Harlan shows up to make Bivens reconsider.

We see MSK (Nash Carter and Wes Lee) make their way to their shaman in an expensive car when they get stopped by the police for going seven miles per hour. They are asked to open their bag, but sudddenly, another car speeds by and they are told today is their lucky day and to follow the speed limit.

Ivy Nile beats Yulisa Leon by submission.

We hear from Solo Sikoa, who says NXT is the perfect battleground and that it does not matter who is with him, as he will fight anybody and they will all fall to the street champion.

Backstage, Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake) steal from a man's wallet before referees continue to keep LA Knight and Grayson Wallter separated.

We hear from Boa, who says he Mei Ying has passed on her strength and spirit and that he does not know how to control it and that it comes and goes. He says that once it is controlled, he will be feared.

Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen beat Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake) when Drake's attempt to fake a tweaked knee fails. During the match, LA Knight and Grayson Waller's backstage brawl is still continuing.

Carmelo Hayes retains the NXT North American Championship against Johnny Gargano and Pete Dunne after Tony D'Angelo pulls Pete Dunne out of the ring after . After the match, Tony D'Angelo and Trick Williams are conflicted over whether to fist bump or shake hands when LA Knight and Grayson Waller take their brawl to the ring. Trick, Carmelo, Grayson and D'Angelo all attack Gargano. As Carmelo puts Gargano's hand through a chair and is about to stomp on the chair, Tommaso Ciampa shows up with a chair and cleans house with help from Pete Dunne and LA Knight. Carmelo retreats. After Ciampa helps Gargano up, Bron Breakker shows up and yells "WarGames!" before charging the ring with Trick, Carmelo, Grayson and D'Angelo, starting a brawl to end the show.
