Raw Deal - Raw recap for November 29, 2021

Seth Rollins heads to the ring to start tonight's show. He says that after last week, the fans may have expected him to be in a bad mood, but he is "Seth Freakin' Rollins" and nobody can keep him down. Rollins says he is in a very good mood because he has a secret: at Day 1, he will face Big E for the WWE Championship. Rollins says that this will be the first day of a new year, a new year and his next championship reign, which he says will define the future of Raw and the WWE. Suddenly, Finn Balor shows up and brawls with Rollins, knocking him into the timekeeper's area and throwing him over the announce table before sending him back into the ring, where Rollins strikes back just before referees show up. Finn Balor fights back and hits Rollins with the ring steps before both men get in the ring for their match.

Seth Rollins beats Finn Balor after a thumb to the eye.

Backstage, Vince McMahon meets with Austin Theory, and has him stay in the office to watch the entire show and see if anyone expects the unexpected, and if that occurs, they will see how they respond. He also tells Austin that if he steals from him again, he will kill him.

Becky Rollins heads to the ring. After the commercial break, she is in the ring with WWE official Sonya Deville, who officiates the contract signing for her WWE Raw Women's Championship Match at Day 1 against her opponent Liv Morgan, who is then introduced into the ring. Becky tells Liv Morgan that she wanted to get her angry to see if she had that fire and that chip on her shoulder, and admits she has "a hell of a right." She then says Liv held herself back like she always does, and says it takes more than that to beat her. She asks if Liv will do the same thing when she is in their match, and after stating she has already signed the contract and has nothing to prove, Sonya announces their match will be next week on Raw. Becky says that the fans are not ready for the big title match, then mocks the New York Islanders before Liv Morgan tells her to shut up for once, signs the contract, then says she channeled her energy into her fists instead of being a big, blubbering mess. She mentions Becky Lynch crying about her Survivor Series Charlotte Flair, and even shows the footage from last week before making fun of her for crying and stating that she is nothing but a bully and everything she once despised. Liv says that her friends are gone because of Becky's big money contract, then says she will not be Becky's "number two" and that she learned from all of her mistakes. She then says that if the first punch didn't teach Becky anything, the next will. Becky says Liv knows nothing about big emotions after a big match, and Liv laughs as Becky says she has proposed a ten-woman tag match for tonight. Liv says Becky is too selfish to be a real leader, and tells her to consider her challenge accepted.

Backstage, Matt Riddle meets with Randy Orton, having expected him to dress up like him after what happened last week. After a Freaky Friday reference and a recap of last week, Orton dismisses that notion and says they must be more ruthless than ever before and "ten steps ahead of the competition." Riddle then places a blond wig on Orton's head, and after Orton sees it, he tells him he has two seconds to take it off. Riddle removes it at one, then they head to the ring.

RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Matt Riddle) retain the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships against Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.

Backstage, Seth Rollins is met by Kevin Owens, who tells him that he also has some big news. He says that according to WWE official Adam Pearce, if he beats Big E tonight, he will be added to the WWE Championship match at Day 1. Rollins laughs thinking this is a joke, but Owens says this is no joke and tells him to talk to Pearce if he does not believe him. Rollins says he will talk to Pearce, but he does not believe Owens because Owens is a liar.

Backstage, Seth Rollins meets with WWE official Adam Pearce, and finds out that Kevin Owens is lying about getting a shot to enter the WWE Championship match at Day 1. When Rollins leaves, WWE official Sonya Deville shows up, and when Pearce tells her about his conversation with Rollins, Sonya says "That's not a bad idea."

Edge heads to the ring for the first time in a month. Edge talks about his Hell In A Cell Match against Seth Rollins, and says that Rollins deserves a shot at the WWE Championship after competing on a different level before saying he has a new set of opponents to sink his teeth into. As Edge says the future is wide open, The Miz, much like Edge, returns for the first time in a month after being off programming to take part in Dancing With The Stars, and this time, he has Maryse with him. After a Dancing With The Stars video package, Miz says Edge has been waiting for an opportunity while he has been representing WWE during his time off, and yet Edge gets the big return package and he does not. Miz then says that what really ticks him off is that Edge has not mentioned him, but Edge says he thought Miz was busy paiting himself like a genie and dancing. Maryse says Miz has been busy entertaining, but Edge mentions that Miz placed ninth in the competition. Miz chalks it up to his fanbase not voting for him, then says he was dancing with stars while Edge was dancing with injuries. Edge tells Miz he could have went to WWE officials Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville, but he did not, and thinks that Miz's agenda is to antagonize him to get into the main event picture. Edge says he could get take the easy way out and get the crowd to chant "Miz sucks" on the count of three - which he ends up doing anyway - but he won't. Miz says he deserves more respect, saying he held the WWE Championship six months ago and that Edge was in the opening bout while he main evented with John Cena, and while Edge has a big career, he has surpassed it. Miz says Edge should have went home for good, and while Edge admits that he has had to struggle to come back from retirement, is dancing with a body that may not allow him to wrestle for much longer, people still want to face him and he and the competition have mutual respect for each other. He says that this mutual respect is something that Miz will never understand, as he keeps moaning and complaining and that Miz just wants a pat on the back, and gives Miz credit where credit is due, saying he made it higher than anyone else but Miz himself thought he could. He says that Miz willed that into existence, and says that while he fought with every fiber being to get this small window of time where he can still wrestle back, Miz just used the opportunity to get notoriety for his next endeavor while other people talk about him in other companies and Miz leaves his tag team partner high and dry to get fired (a reference to John Morrison's recent WWE release), and says that while Miz demands respect, he has earned it. Miz takes his shades off, and Edge dares Miz to fight him. Miz teases doing just that, but he just says "no" and leaves with Maryse.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles and Omos. AJ Styles puts his sunglasses on and pretends to be blind as he says The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) sprayed him with a fire extinguisher because they could not beat him and Omos. He then says The Street Profits blinded him and he may not be able to see again. Styles says they gave him the smoke right in his eyes, but that is okay, for where there is smoke, there is fire, and The Street Profits will get burned.

"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles and Omos guest on commentary for the next match.

The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) beat Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis) despite "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles running at Montez Ford while Ford is on the top rope, which causes Ford to boot Styles away before hitting the top rope frog splash on Chad Gable for the win.

Team Liv (Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair, Nikki A.S.H., Rhea Ripley, Dana Brooke) beats Team Becky (Becky Lynch, Queen Zelina, Carmella, Tamina, Doudrop). After the match, Becky Lynch attacks Liv Morgan, and both teams continue to brawl with each other. Team Liv cleans house, and when Becky goes for the Manhandle Slam, Liv counters with an arm drag and hits Ob-Liv-Ion.

Backstage, Vince McMahon and Austin Theory continue to talk about the unexpected.

Backstage, Kevin Patrick interviews Big E. When asked if a potential Triple Threat Match adds pressure, Big E says "no," pretends to leave, then says he fears no man yet facing two men instead of one makes it harder to retain. Big E then says that if he can beat Kevin Owens, he will keep his match one-on-one and kick off the new year as champion.

The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) plug the Cyber Monday deals on WWEShop.com.

Backstage, Vince McMahon and Austin Theory adjourn their meeting after Austin says he has learned to expect the unexpected. After Vince says Austin gets it, they shake hands only for Vince to suddenly slap him in the face. Vince then tells Austin he still has a lot to learn.

Seth Rollins guests on commentary for the next match.

Kevin Owens beats Big E by disqualification after Owens attacks Rollins during the match and Rollins attacks him in the ring in response. After the match, Rollins avoids The Stomp from Rollins, but Big E falls victim to it when Rollins attacks him afterwards. It is then announced that as per pre-match stipulation, Owens is now in the WWE Championship match at Day 1. Rollins is livid.
