Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for June 4, 2021

Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman head to the ring to start tonight's show. Roman says that he was not happy after last week, but with the counsel of a wise man and a week to "chew on it," he has changed his mind on The Usos' (Jimmy and Jey Uso) tag team title match, and while he is the centerpiece, he tells Jimmy that if he says he will win, he had better win. Roman then calls for The Usos, who show up. Roman tells Jimmy to acknowledge him, and Jimmy says he already did when he choked him and Jey out before saying that tonight is about winning the SmackDown tag team titles and becoming seven-time champions. Roman wishes them luck, telling Jimmy that he called the shot and that he had better win and get the job done, because he has called the shot and gotten the job done and because the whole family is watching.

Rey and Dominik Mysterio retain the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships against The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) despite Jimmy Uso getting his shoulder up before the three count. After the match, an enraged Roman Reigns demands to Paul Heyman to bring The Usos to him.

Backstage, Roman Reigns chews out The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) for "losing to a child" and for Jimmy Uso calling his shot and not winning. He then tells The Usos to correct what happened before the night ends.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Seth Rollins. Rollins says he does not owe anyone anything, not even his time or an explanation for his actions regarding Cesaro, and tosses his microphone away.

Backstage, Chad Gable meets with The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford), saying they have been losing as of late and proposes being their advisor and unleashing their "inner Alpha." They decline and leave.

Backstage, The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) meet with WWE officials Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville. Sonya says that they will review the footage and come up with a solution following what happened in their match.

Carmella beats Liv Morgan with the Code of Silence. After the match, Carmella demands that ring announcer Greg Hamilton call her "the most beautiful woman in all of WWE," which he does.

Backstage, Rey and Dominik Mysterio are met by WWE officials Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville, and find out that they will be defending the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships against The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) again later tonight after the ref did not see Jimmy Uso get his shoulder up.

Bianca Belair heads to the ring. Bianca says that since she has won the SmackDown Women's Championship, Bayley has done nothing but laugh at her, and says that the rest of the women's division has been laughing at her. She says that Bayley has not been the first person to try her and that people have tried to put her down for being muscular and athletic while she won trophy after trophy and championship after championship. She calls Bayley laughing in her face "utter disrespect," then challenges Bayley to take her "cackling self" and meet her in the ring at Hell In A Cell, saying she will not be laughing then. Bayley's laughter is soon heard, then Bayley is seen on the TitanTron before saying she is in a room full of pictures of herself via satellite and that she is not in the building and has laughed at people like Bianca her whole life life before accepting her challenge. As she says she will be there and that she will not be the only person laughing, every panel on the Thunderdome is replaced with an image of Bayley laughing.

Backstage, The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) are met by Otis, who tells them to apologize to Chad Gable after mocking him. Montez says they owe nobody anything and tells Otis that Gable is holding him back. Otis responds by attacking them both.

King Corbin beats Shinsuke Nakamura with an inside cradle, but when he tries to run away with his crown, Rick Boogs trips him and Nakamura gets the crown back.

Backstage, Kevin Owens is attacked by Commander Azeez, but Azeez is stopped before he can hit Owens with the Nigerian Nail. Meanwhile, Apollo Crews is pleased with what Azeez has done.

Apollo Crews retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Kevin Owens in a match that also sees Commander Azeez banned from ringside. After the match, Sami Zayn runs into the match and hits Kevin Owens with a Helluva Kick, and tells Owens that karma kicked him. He pretends to leave, but stomps Owens in his injured ribs one more time.

Backstage, The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) both agree that Otis should mind his own business, and that they will send Chad Gable and Otis back to the dump where they belong.

Rey and Dominik Mysterio retain the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships against The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) by disqualification after Roman Reigns shows up and hits Dominik with a Superman Punch. Rey fights Roman but gets hit with a Spear. Roman then continues to attack both men, and hits both of them with the ring steps. He tosses Rey over the barricade, then proceeds to pound Dominik with forearms in the ring. Roman then chokes Dominik out with the guillotine choke. Jimmy tells Roman to let go of Dominik. He does, then Jimmy leaves the ring. Jimmy asks Jey to come with him, but Roman stops Jey. Jey is conflicted as Roman powerbombs Dominik. The show ends.

Raw Talk: The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) are ready to fight Chad Gable and Otis.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
