Zoey Stark and Io Shirai beat the team of Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon and the team of Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez in a triple threat tag team match to become #1 contenders for the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships.

Johnny Gargano jumps Karrion Kross backstage, and security swiftly steps in as Kross tells Gargano he is a dead man.

The NXT Breakout Tournament returns in two weeks!

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Bronson Reed, who cannot wait to see who is in the next NXT Breakout Tournament, saying the last one took him to championship status. Suddenly, Hit Row (Isaiah "Swerve" Scott, Ashante "Thee" Adonis, Top Dolla, B-Fab) shows up, and Swerve wants to know how Bronson Reed became a champion. Top Dolla tells Bronson to put the North American title on the line, as does Swerve, who wants him to do it tonight against him. Bronson tells Swerve that if he wants a title, he's got it.

Karrion Kross and Scarlett head to the ring. Kross says Johnny Gargano may have gotten him tonight, he is willing to die on the sword he lives on and wants to see if Gargano is willing to do the same, and dares him to get in the ring and see how well he fares when he sees the shot coming. Gargano shows up and says he is not afraid of Kross, whom he calls a coward before saying that he will beat him at his own game. Gargano tells Kross that the ring is his world, and while he does not have a sword, he has actual talent. Gargano says he may not be the biggest, but at least he is smarter than Kross. Kross is attacked from behind by Austin Theory, but Kross easily makes quick work of both men. Kross is about to hit Gargano with the ring steps when security steps in, and this allows Gargano to hit Kross with a superkick and escape with Kross. Meanwhile, Kross briefly confronts Samoa Joe before heading to the back with Scarlett.

Diamond Mine is coming up next!

Backstage, Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory leave the arena.

Isaiah "Swerve" Scott vs. Bronson Reed for the NXT North American Championship is official for later tonight.

Roderick Strong beats Asher Hale by submission. After the match, Malcolm Bivens says that Diamond Mine is open for business and that this is just the beginning.

Cameron Grimes beats Ari Sterling. After the match, LA Knight shows up and mocks Grimes, calling him a natural-born loser. Grimes dares Knight to get in the ring if he wants to talk about Ted DiBiase, saying he wanted to carry on DiBiase's legacy while Knight "just wanted some bling." Grimes tells Knight he will take that bling from him next week, then Knight refuses to put the title on the line, saying Grimes does not deserve it. He then says there is one piece missing to the title, saying he is a "million dollar mega-star." He then says that if Grimes wants the title next week, he will put it on the line, but if Grimes loses, he will become his butler. Grimes accepts the challenge, saying he has no problem being a butler because he is going to the moon.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Zoey Stark and Io Shirai when Indi Hartwell and Candace LeRae show up and Indi says they are not even a real team. Stark says her and Shirai's mutual respect will not stop them from winning the title, but Candace tells Stark to watch her back, as Shirai tends to be a sore loser. Shirai tells Candace that she has never beaten her, and that next week, she and Stark will become champions.

Kyle O'Reilly heads to the ring. O'Reilly says his journey has been testing himself against the best in the business, and that he wants to fight people who will make him a better fighter. He says that next week is his rematch against Adam Cole, and their first match proved that he could be NXT Champion. O'Reilly then says Cole cannot see this and makes excuse after excuse, then asks what excuse Cole will have when he beats him next week. Adam Cole shows up, but so does Samoa Joe with members of security as Cole is halfway down the ramp. Joe says he is here in case things get physical this time, then lets Cole and O'Reilly continue speaking. Cole says O'Reilly made it crystal clear that he wished he could be in his shoes and have half the career that he has had, then says it won't happen and says that O'Reilly is obsessed with him. O'Reilly says that Cole has picked a fight with him at every turn every since he came back from the hospital, but Cole tells O'Reilly he needs a dose of reality, saying O'Reilly is nothing without him. Cole also says nobody would be talking about O'Reilly without him, especially after their time in The Undisputed Era when Cole was the star of the group, carried him on his back and was responsible for his success. Cole says that he is still the star whether people know it and want to admit it, especially O'Reilly's wife. O'Reilly tells Cole not to mention his wife again, then says he is ashamed that he ever associated himself with Cole and took so long to realize how pathetic Cole is.Cole smacks the microphone out of O'Reilly's hand, and as Samoa Joe stands between them, Cole ducks under Joe to get to get to O'Reilly only to be caught in a heel hook. Cole reaches for Joe, who walks away and lets security break them up.

We hear from Tian Sha (Xia Li, Boa, Mei Ying). Xia Li says that anyone who offends them will be punished. Boa says that Jake Atlas made a big mistake and will pay. Xia says that there is no road of return for Mercedes Martinez and that it is time to destroy.

Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher head to the ring with chairs in their hands. MSK (Nash Carter and Wes Lee) show up soon afterwards, also with chairs in their hands. All four men sit down, and Ciampa says the difference between them is that he and Thatcher make this look good, then says that the tag champs will be the underdogs, as Thatcher has never held NXT gold and is hungry. Ciampa says that nobody elevates a championship much like he does, and when Thatcher interrupts Carter, telling him to let Ciampa finish, Wes Lee says that they respect the both of them, and Carter tells them to put respect on MSK's name. Wes Lee then says that Ciampa and Thatcher will soon find out why they are the tag team champions, then MSK attack Ciampa and Thatcher only for Wes Lee to be slapped in the face by Thatcher, who is held back by Ciampa. Ciampa tells MSK to bring their pride along with their titles, for he and Thatcher are taking both, because MSK got a free shot tonight and they will not be so lucky next week.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews General Manager William Regal, who says he is excited about the new NXT Breakout Tournament when Sarray shows up wanting a match with Toni Storm. Regal says he will take it under consideration, and Sarray thanks him.

The battery meter reads 81%.

As Karrion Kross and Scarlett leave the arena, Kross is suddenly attacked by Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory. As Gargano says Kross is not on his level, Kross puts him in a sleeper hold and lays him out. Kross then punches out Austin Theory before driving off with Scarlett. As they drive off, Joe is seen holding Gargano and carrying him back into the arena after telling him he pushed Kross a little bit too far.

Isaiah "Swerve" Scott beats Bronson Reed to become the NXT North American Champion following interference from Top Dolla and Ashante "Thee" Adonis, which gives Swerve enough of a breather as Reed lays them both out to get the win.
