Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for October 4, 2019

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon show up to start tonight's show. Stephanie welcomes to history and to Fox, and Vince welcomes everyone to Friday Night SmackDown.

Becky Lynch shows up. Becky says that SmackDown is the show that is in her blood, the place where she changes the game and the place with the fans that raise her up. As she says she is in the mood for a fight, King Corbin shows up. Corbin says he should be starting tonight's show off, not Becky, and questions if Becky is still "The Man." Becky tells him that if he steps one foot in the ring, they will find out. As Corbin steps into the ring, The Rock shows up. The Rock talks about how he introduced the word "smackdown" into modern language, then calls King Corbin "a broke-ass Burger King on crack." Corbin interrupts The Rock after he says he has come back home, and says that he is "The Great One" and "the most electrifying king in sports entertainment" before telling The Rock and Becky to know their roles and shut their mouths. The Rock tells Corbin that winning King of the Ring does not make one king or gives him license to dress like a "35-year-old virgin" at Comic Con. Corbin says he does whatever he wants because he is superior to everybody and the locals' king is not LeBron James. After The Rock and Becky both tell Corbin it doesn't matter what he thinks, The Rock and Becky agree that he is a "super tough dude," then The Rock leads them into chanting "STD" to say what they think of him. The Rock says Corbin should be embarrassed after insulting the fans and The Rock, and says that he and Becky will kick his ass, which they then proceed to do. The Rock then hits Corbin with the People's Elbow, then hits The Rock Bottom after some help from Becky.

Trish Stratus, Lita and Maria Menounos are seen in the front row.

Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch beat Sasha Banks and Bayley with a Figure Eight to Bayley.

Erin Andrews interviews The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods). Kofi Kingston says he is always the underdog, but he still stands as WWE Champion. He calls Brock Lesnar the next mountain he has to climb, and he climbs mountains and overcomes odds. Big E and Xavier Woods, when asked if they will be in Kofi's corner, tell Andrews that Kofi has asked them to stay backstage so he can face Brock Lesnar alone and prove himself.

Boxer Tyson Fury, Mick Foley and Kurt Angle is seen in the front row.

Before the next match, Bray Wyatt shows up on the TitanTron and introduces Seth Rollins - and the rest of the viewers - to the Firefly Fun House. Ramblin' Rabbit - dressed like Seth Rollins - warns Rollins not to step into Hell In A Cell with The Fiend. This gives Wyatt the idea of showing Rollins what will happen to him by having Mercy The Buzzard tear Ramblin' Rabbit apart inside a small red cage. Bray Wyatt laughs and says that history has a horrible way of repeating itself, and says that it is Rollins' turn.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and The Rock's mother are seen in the front row.

Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura ends with the arrival of "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt. Rollins makes it to the stage and keeps an eye out for The Fiend, but The Fiend gets Rollins from behind and puts the Mandible Claw on him.

Kevin Owens beats Shane McMahon in a Ladder Match. As per pre-match stipulation, Shane McMahon is fired from WWE. After the match, Owens takes a microphone, tells Shane he's fired, then hits Shane with a Stunner.

We briefly look back at the greatest moments in SmackDown's history, courtesy of Snickers.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Paul Heyman. He says that Rey Mysterio was in Brock Lesnar's way, and Lesnar got rid of him. He says that Lesnar will soon get rid of Kofi Kingston, and tonight, Lesnar will become WWE Champion.

Braun Strowman, The Miz and Heavy Machinery (Tucker and Otis) beat Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode and "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles. During the match, Strowman has a staredown with Tyson Fury until Dolph Ziggler shows up. Strowman inadvertently tosses Ziggler into Tyson Fury outside of the ring before getting the win. After the match, security quickly moves into place as Tyson Fury jumps the guardrail to get a piece of Braun Strowman.

We see footage from earlier tonight where world-renowned DJ Marshmallo pins Carmella to become the WWE 24/7 Champion.

"The New" Daniel Bryan guests on commentary for the next match.

Roman Reigns beats Erick Rowan in a Lumberjack Match despite the interference of Luke Harper after "The New" Daniel Bryan helps Roman fend Rowan off. After the match, Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan shake hands.

Rob Stone and Matt Lineart of Fox College Football are in the front row.

Brock Lesnar beats Kofi Kingston in seconds with one F-5 to win the WWE Championship for the fifth time. "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry and Goldberg are seen in the crowd reacting to Lesnar's win. After the match, Rey Mysterio shows up with MMA fighter Cain Velasquez, who gets in the ring and fights Lesnar, forcing him to retreat. Lesnar teases getting back in the ring for a few minutes, then leaves with Paul Heyman.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
