In memory of "Mean" Gene Okerlund, 1942 - 2019.

Kalisto beats Lio Rush to qualify for the Fatal 4-Way Match for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at Royal Rumble after Lio Rush is distracted by Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik's noisemakers, allowing Kalisto to recover and hit the Salida del Sol for the win.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Drew Gulak. Gulak says there are many words to describe himself with, but an underdog is not one of them as The Brian Kendrick and Akira Tozawa are "low rent brawlers" and this is a wrestling match. Because of this, Gulak says that Tozawa is at a disadvantage due to the fact that there are now rules, and when Tozawa steps to him, he will tap out. Meanwhile, Akira Tozawa is seen training with The Brian Kendrick.

General Manager Drake Maverick says he has been contacting General Managers from other brands and looking for talent elsewhere, which will lead to new faces and more competition. He expects everyone to rise to the occasion as 205 Live continues to be the top destination for the best cruiserweight wrestling in the world.

Akira Tozawa beats Drew Gulak after countering a superplex to qualify for the Fatal 4-Way Match for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at Royal Rumble.
