Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for January 11, 2019

Johnny Impact shows up to start tonight's show. Johnny says the World title is important, but right now, nothing is more important to him than his wife, Taya Valkyrie. He says the end of Homecoming should have been a celebration, but Taya has been in the hospital since Killer Kross attacked her. He says that Kross has angered him with his backstage acts and cryptic actions, but after what he did to Taya, all he can think about is what he wants to do to him when he gets his hands on him. All of a sudden, "The Machine" Brian Cage shows up. Cage says he had Johnny beat for a count of ten, and that his friends on Survivor as well as "an idiot referee" saved him. He says he is the rightful champion and that everyone knows it. He then demands his World title rematch right here and now, but Johnny says now is not the time or place. Cage says he doesn't care, since Johnny doesn't care about him; all he cares about is the championship. As Johnny is about to give him that rematch, Killer Kross shows up. He calls Johnny Impact "the great impostor," and says that Cage had him beat at Homecoming, yet Johnny is still a champion. He says that Johnny has shown his true colors and proven he has only cared about his image, and as soon as Taya returns to Impact, he will put her right back in the hospital. Johnny tries to go after Kross, but Cage stops him. Cage gets superkicked, then Johnny hits a tope con hiro. When Johnny gets Kross in the ring, Cage his Johnny with a clothesline. Afterwards, Kross and Cage stare down before Kross hits Cage with a clothesline. Cage gets back up, and Kross decides to get out of the ring. Cage then lifts the Impact World Championship up in the air before hainding it back to Johnny Impact before leaving the ring.

In footage from during the break, "The Machine" Brian Cage confronts Johnny Impact, who tells Cage he will get the next World title shot as soon as he deals with Killer Kross tonight. Cage tells Johnny not to screw with him.

The Lucha Bros. (Pentagon Jr. and Fenix) beat The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz). Both teams show respect after the match.

The GWN Flashback Moment of the Week is the very first Ultimate X Match.

We see a video package of the events leading up to tonight's match between Johnny Impact and Killer Kross.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Killer Kross, who says that Johnny Mundo has made it clear he wants to hurt him in a no-disqualification match, then asks if he really knows how. He says dealing pain and hurting somebody are two different things, and asks how Johnny thinks he has the chance to do it. Tonight, he plans to rip Johnny out of his own skin, and tells him "it's over."

Josh Mathews interviews Rich Swann in the ring. As the crowd chants "You deserve it!", Swann says Homecoming marked one of the biggest moments of his career, for there was a vision of a division in The Asylum and it was the X Division. After name-dropping notable X Division alumni and mentioning they changed the company and the industry, he says that he stepped into the ring with three of today's best X Division wrestlers in Ultimate X and came out on top. He says it's not about weight limits, it's about no limits, and he is "the No Limit Soldier of the X Division" and he is ready to take on all comers. Suddenly, Sami Callihan shows up, and Josh Mathews leaves as Sami threatens to beat him up and tells Don Callis to stop talking back to him. Sami says there have been rumors about what is going on between him and Rich Swann, and says that he and Swann have a long history that the fans don't deserve to learn at this point. Sami then tells Swann that family is everything, and tells him to do what is best for him and accept his offer. He produces a shirt with the oVe logo on it from the merchandise table and tells Swann to put it on before tossing it at his face. As Sami tells Swann to "come on home to Ohio," Willie Mack shows up and brawls with Sami Callihan. Swann pulls Sami off Willie Mack and confronts him, and after Sami shoves Swann, Mack attacks Sami again. Swann pulls Willie Mack off Sami, and referees have to keep both parties separated.

Willie Mack beats Sami Callihan after sitting down on a Sunset Flip from Callihan.

The Latin-American Xchange (Konnan, Santana, Ortiz) share some liquor and cigars to celebrate their win at Homecoming, and Santana and Ortiz tells Konnan "I told you so." Konnan admits he was wrong, and says they should be happy about how well their match went down.

Backstage, oVe (Sami Callihan, Jake Crist, Dave Crist) are met by The Latin-American Xchange (Konnan, Santana, Ortiz), who proceed to make fun of them as oVe argue with one another.

"The Smoke Show" Scarlett Bordeaux shows up. She says she has a few things she has to get off her chest, and announces that next week, the winner of her talent search will be revealed. "The Smoke Show" Scarlett Bordeaux shows up. She says she has a few things she has to get off her chest, and announces that next week, the winner of her talent search will be revealed. Scarlett counts down from five and is about to take off her black robe when The Desi Hit Squad shows up. Gama Singh tells Scarlett to stop and take a seat on the steel chair Rohit Raju has provided, but Scarlett knocks it off before Gama tells her not to belittle herself and to save it for the winner of the talent show, which he says will be The Desi Hit Squad, for a private show. Gama says the American people have no scruples, and as he tries to tell her to stay modest, Scott Steiner shows up for the first time in a while. Steiner says he showed up to see Impact debut on the Pursuit Network, a channel known for hunting and fishing in exotic location. He also says he wanted to see Scarlett's strip show and that The Desi Hit Squad ruined it for him. Gama Singh seems to have a heart attack, then Rohit Raju and Raj Singh try to ambush Scott Steiner. This fails, and Steiner successfully fends them off before putting both men in the Steiner Recliner. Scarlett says she loves a little violence, but she wants to put on a show for the fans, and if Scott Steiner wanted a front row seat, all he had to do was ask. Scarlett takes off her robe to reveal her lingerie, then kisses Scott Steiner and heads up the ramp.

We hear from Gail Kim in footage from last Sunday, who says that the right woman became Knockouts Champion at Homecoming and that Tessa Blanchard should have not put her hands on her, as she is no ordinary referee.

Tessa Blanchard beats Cali Collins with Eat Defeat in an attempt to send a message to Gail Kim.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Eddie Edwards, who says that he ended his feud with Moose, who pushed him to the edge at Homecoming, and that he is ready to move on. Suddenly, Eli Drake shows up. Eli says that he and Eddie have gone through changes in Impact, but he wonders if, after guys like Tommy Dreamer and Abyss have dropped their hardcore flags, Eddie wants to be the one to pick the hardcore flag up.

Su Yung and Allie talk. Allie says that Rosemary is back and looking for Allie, but Allie is gone after she sold her soul to Father James Mitchell. Suddenly, a message appears on the nearby casket that reads "One More Chance...Rejoin The Shadow... -R".

Next week: Rich Swann vs. Trey Miguel! oVe (Sami Callihan, Jake Crist, Dave Crist) vs. The Latin-American Xchange (Konnan, Santana, Ortiz)! Eddie Edwards in action!

Killer Kross beats Johnny Impact in a no-disqualification match with a Kross Jacket after Moose shows up and shoves Johnny Impact off the top rope and onto a table set up at ringside.
