Paul Bearer, Kane and Mankind show up to start tonight's show. Mankind says that on the day before King of the Ring, knowing full well his life would never be the same, he went out and took his two little children to Santa's Village, and as he sat on the roller coaster, his four-year-old daughter reached up and kissed him on the cheek, and when he asked why, she said "Because, Daddy, you're a good man." He says it was the most beautiful thing he had ever heard, and the very next day, The Undertaker tried to take all of that away from him. He tells the crowd they are scum that don't deserve to be in the same arena as him, and then talks about how The Undertaker pushed him off the top of the cell into the announce table before choke slamming him through the cell ceiling, all the while unable to keep him down. With his arm hanging by a thread, his tongue poking through a hole below his lip and one of his teeth stuck in his nose, he finished the match because he could, and Jim Ross sat there and said that if ever a man deserved a standing ovation, it would have to be him. He then says that out of a crowd of 20,000 people, 200 people cheered as the rest saw the WWF's "toughest son-of-a-bitch" and were too stupid to know. Mankind says two things became very clear: he cannot and will wrestle ever again except for the acceptance of the fans, and his career will never end in a blaze of glory and he will slowly lose all of his bodily functions while nobody gives a damn. He then tells The Undertaker to somewhere and somehow find the courage to face him man-to-man, as he will not give the satisfaction of putting the final nail in the coffin of Mankind. He then says that if he does, then he will tear him apart.
Vader beats "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry by disqualification after Mark Henry hits Vader with repeated body splashes after Vader busts his mouth open.
Backstage, Michael Cole reports that he has been able to speak with The Undertaker and confirms The Undertaker has heard what Mankind had to say at the top of the show. He also reports that The Undertaker was in no mood to conduct an interview with him, but The Undertaker did say that he has a statement later tonight and that he will be waiting by The Undertaker's locker room.
The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) vs. Southern Justice (Mark Canterbury and Dennis Knight) ends in a double disqualification after "Double J" Jeff Jarrett and Darren "Puke" Drozdov get involved and the match gets out of control.
X-Pac beats Taka Michinoku. During the match, a joint press conference between Val Venis and John Wayne Bobbitt is announced for tomorrow night on Raw. After the match, the rest of Kaientai (Sho Funaki, Dick Togo, Men's Teioh) run in and attack X-Pac, then the rest of D-Generation X (Triple H, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) run into fight Kaientai. As Yamaguchi-San backs away into the ring, he accidentally backs into Chyna, who hits him with a forearm that causes him to roll down the ramp and into Taka.
Backstage, Michael Cole reports that he was invited into The Undertaker's locker room concerning his statement towards Mankind; however, when The Undertaker noticed the cameraman following him, the cameraman was pushed away.
Bradshaw beats Dustin Runnels. During the match, it is announced that Triple H will be guesting on Pacific Blue, coming up after Sunday Night Heat. It is then announced that Darren "Puke" Drozdov has recently challenged "Double J" Jeff Jarrett to a match, and that the challenge has been accepted on Jarrett's behalf by Tennessee Lee and will take place later tonight.
We see another edition of Droz's World where Darren "Puke" Drozdov talks about other people's reactions to his tattoos.
Darren "Puke" Drozdov beats "Double J" Jeff Jarrett. During the match, Southern Justice (Mark Canterbury and Dennis Knight) show up, briefly distracting Drozdov. They are later met by The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh), who distract the referee as Tennessee Lee tosses one of his cowboy boots to Jarrett. Droz grabs the boot instead, and hits Jarrett with the boot to get the win. After the match, Jarrett argues with Tennessee Lee, and the argument gets physical as Jarrett pushes Tennessee Lee only for Lee to push back. Tennessee Lee tells Jarrett that he is the problem, but when he sics Southern Justice on Jarrett, Southern Justice turn on Tennessee Lee, beating him up along with Jarrett. Jarrett then tells the crowd that if they don't like him and Southern Justice, they can kiss his ass.
Paul Bearer, Kane and Mankind show up again. Mankind is seen carrying an ice scraper to the ring, and says that tonight, he will tear The Undertaker apart. All of a sudden, Kane grabs Mankind by the throat and tosses him off the apron and into a commentary table before punching Paul Bearer out. After hitting Mankind with the steel steps and stomping Paul Bearer, he hits Mankind with the Tombstone Piledriver before removing his mask and revealing himself to be The Undertaker in disguise the whole time to end the show.

Vince's Got A Shotgun - Shotgun Saturday Night recap for August 8, 1998
Bart Gunn beats Pepe Gonzales.
We hear from "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who says that the highway to Hell will be exactly that as The Undertaker wants to take the WWF Championship back. He says he will not give either him or WWF owner Vince McMahon the satisfaction of seeing him lose the title, as they are on the highway to Hell and he is smack dab in the middle of it. At SummerSlam, it will be one hell of a fight, but there is no way The Undertaker will take the title from him.
SummerSlam is three weeks away!
On Droz's World, Droz talks about how "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry grabbed his shirt and blew his nose in it during training, and how he got back at him by nearly puking on Mark Henry's hand. We then see a preview for the next Droz's World segment, where Droz shows off a tattoo of a dog on his rear end.
Tiger Ali Singh and Abu show up. He gives all the "American peasants" an opportunity to redeem themselves for the low-class lives that they live by having them stand up and bow down to show him the respect that he deserves for being a proud member of Asian royalty. He says there is no limit for how low an American will go for the thing they most cherish and worship: the U.S. Dollar. He then asks for a show of hands of volunteers who want to make $300 in cash today. Many people in the crowd raise their hands, and Singh says all they have to do is get in the ring and eat dog food. He also says that Abu had specially prepared a bowl of Asian curry dog food before asking Abu to pick a volunteer. Abu picks a volunteer, and a woman comes out of the crowd to head into the ring. Singh says dog food is one of the main meals that Americans eat and that it is considered a delicacy for their senior citizens. At Singh's command, the woman gets down on all fours and grovels before him before eating the dog food. He then offers her $400 for another dollars, which Abu produces. The woman gets down and eats another bite of dog food, and the woman is paid $400. The food is placed in the dog food, and the woman picks it up and wipes it off on Abu before doing a D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Chyna, X-Pac, "Road Dogg' Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) crotch chop and leaving.
We hear from The Undertaker, who says that SummerSlam is near and that it will be two men, one ring and one fight. He tells "Stone Cold" Steve Austin that when all is said and done and he is laying flat on his back staring up at him, he should not feel bad because he was beaten by a better man.

Road Wild 1998 - The Results
Meng beats The Barbarian by pinfall with the Tongan Death Grip. Jimmy Hart tries to fight Meng to get him off, and has to call out Hugh Morrus to get freed. Hugh Morrus, The Barbarian and Jimmy Hart attack Meng until "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan comes out attacks them all with his 2x4.
Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) beat The Dancing Fools (Disco Inferno and Alex Wright). The match becomes a Street Fight in the middle of the match after Disco and Wright reply to being hit with an aluminum trash can by going to the back to get a table and saying that if they want a street fight, they'll get one. The referee then officially makes the match a Street Fight. The match ends after Disco Inferno is put through three tables, followed by Tokyo Magnum hitting Disco with a top rope splash when Johnny Grunge moves out of the way of it.
Dean Malenko says he will call it like he sees it in the match for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship as he is interviewed for WCWWrestling.com.
Before the next match, Raven sics Kanyon on Saturn. It is not long, however, before Kanyon and Saturn are working together and hit Raven with Total Elimination - Saturn's double-team finishing move from when he was part of The Eliminators in Extreme Championship Wrestling with John Kronus.
Saturn beats Raven and Kanyon in a Triangle Match contested under Raven's Rules after Lodi and Horace's interference goes awry, as Lodi accidentally throws powder into Horace's eyes, causing Horace to accidentally nail both Lodi and Raven with a stop sign.
Rey Mysterio, Jr. beats Psychosis to become #1 contender for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship.
Before the next match, Chavo Guerrero Jr. declares the next match null and void, as the contract he has in his hand - stamped with the same notary stamp that he stole from Stevie Ray - states that he is the WCW World Television Champion. When Stevie Ray shows up, Chavo demands the belt, but Stevie Ray refuses, and Chavo says if he wants the match, he has to shake his hand. Stevie Ray refuses, and Chavo starts wrestling him, anyway.
Stevie Ray "retains" the WCW World Television Championship against Chavo Guerrero, Jr. after Chavo's attempts to wear Stevie Ray out do not work. After the match, Stevie Ray says he isn't finished with Chavo yet, and if anyone has a problem with it, they had better step up and do something about it. Eddie Guerrero shows up and takes the WCW World Television Championship away from Stevie Ray, then tells Stevie Ray he wants no problem with him and to let it be. Stevie Ray leaves as Eddie Guerrero tries to reason with Chavo.
Chris Jericho conducts an interview for WCWWrestling.com, saying he will be watching Dean Malenko to make sure he doesn't cheat him.
Before the next match, WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon shows up and tells Rick Steiner his match with Scott Steiner is off. Buff Bagwell shows up, wheeling Scott Steiner out on a stretcher while wearing a neck brace, and accuses Rick of injuring them both before saying this match is not happening. J.J. Dillon says he has confirmed with the doctors that Scott is out for two weeks, that if the match cannot take place, the match can be rescheduled within the next 45 days, and it is rescheduled for Fall Brawl on September 13th. Buff Bagwell says anything can happen with their injuries between now and the next 45 dasys, but Dillon counters by announcing that if Scott Steiner is not ready for the match, he is barred from wrestling for life. Scott Steiner miraculously stands up from the stretcher, and Rick chases after both men after Buff Bagwell shoves the stretcher at him.
Steve "Mongo" McMichael beats Brian Adams. During the match, Mongo accidentally kicks referee Billy Silverman as Brian Adams gets him set up for a piledriver. Vincent tries to interfere with a steel chair, but Vincent accidentally hits Adams with the chair before Mongo punches the chair into his face. Mongo then hits the Mongo Spike as Silverman is coming to.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund, surrounded by the American Ironhorse girls and sitting on his American Ironhorse motorcycle, gets the crowd fired up.
Before the next match, Chris Jericho says that as he was driving down Sturgis, South Dakota on his motorcycle, he realized that he did not want to perform in front of "a bunch of weekend warrior [motorcyclists]" and that he is the only true biker around here.
Juventud Guerrera beats Chris Jericho to become the WCW Cruiserweight Champion in a match with Dean Malenko as special guest referee after Juvi leaps over Malenko to hit a top rope hurricanrana following a boot to Malenko's face by Jericho. Jericho, who is finally frustrated with Malenko near the end of the match, fights Malenko after the match only to get laid out.
Goldberg wins the nWo Battle Royal after getting The Giant up for the Jackhammer.
Diamond Dallas Page and Jay Leno beat Hollywood Hogan and Jay Leno after Tonight Show band leader Kevin Eubanks is able to hit Bischoff with a Diamond Cutter. Hogan and Bischoff attack DDP and Leno after the match, but Goldberg runs in and hits both Hogan and Bischoff with a Spear.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for August 3, 1998
The show starts with a performance by The Nitro Girls.
It is announced that "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko (who is currently replaced on commentary by Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) has been called into a meeting by TNT and Time Warner executives, and it is hoped that Zbyszko will still show up on commentary. It is also mentioned that last week's "Texas gag order" may be involved.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Diamond Dallas Page. DDP says that after what Eric Bischoff did to Jay Leno, it wasn't hard to get him involved at Road Wild, and that he can get him involved because there isn't going to be much left of Hollywood Hogan. Bischoff, on the other hand, is a man he has known for a long time and a man he won't leaving much of either, as there isn't anyone in America who doesn't want to see him get smacked around like a little girl. He says that Leno will be training in Los Angeles for Road Wild, and that Hogan and Bischoff will soon feel the bang.
Before the next match, Jimmy Hart calls out Diamond Dallas Page as he is halfway up the stands on his way to the back. DDP heads back down and jumps the guardrail before getting in the ring. It is noticed that DDP's ribs are no longer taped up.
Diamond Dallas Page beats The Barbarian.

He announces that "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes has filed a complaint against him with Time Warner, and showed them edited videos of him coming off the set. He has made a deal with Time Warner, saying he will do his job as long as they keep people who do not belong on the set off.
It's time for nWo Nightcap with Eric Bischoff and Miss Elizabeth. Bischoff tells some topical jokes to the boos of the fans before making fun of Jay Leno, telling Leno he will know the true meaning of the word "punchline" and telling Kevin Nash that Hollywood Hogan will beat him up if he sticks his nose in nWo Hollywood's business. He then brings Hogan out. Hogan says that he and Bischoff have now conquered all of show business, and that after Road Wild, Diamond Dallas Page will never be successful in professional wrestling again. As for Leno, NBC will remove him and replace him with Hogan and Bischoff after everyone working on the set wanted them back. He then tells Leno that when Bischoff kicks his head off, he would be smart to leave DDP for the picking.
We see a video package of Bret "The Hit Man" Hart.
Before the next match, Disco Inferno introduces Alex Wright as "one of the hottest young dancers in wrestling today" and "one of the best tag team partners anyone could ever have." Instead of Wright, however, it is Tokyo Magnum who walks out to Wright's music. It isn't long before the match is thrown out, however, as Scott Norton shows up and powerbombs both Psychosis and Tokyo Magnum. He then issues an open challenge to anyone in WCW. Hugh Morrus answers the challenge, despite Jimmy Hart trying to talk him out of it. Norton then hits another powerbomb on Morrus, and heads back to the back.
Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.
We see another performance by The Nitro Girls. Also, it is announced that last week's Nitro Party pack winner is Jack Olivieri from Leesburg, Florida, and that another grand prize winner will be announced next week.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Goldberg. Goldberg says Road Wild is payback time, as he has thrown his hat in the ring for the nWo battle royal to take out The Giant. He does not care who he has to destroy to get to him, whether it be Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Brian Adams or even Sting, because The Giant is next. Sting shows up and stares down with Goldberg as flyer rain down from the top of the sky, and The Giant shows up with nWo Hollywood to tell him he doesn't have to wait until Saturday. Goldberg goes through The Giant's cronies, and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart sidesteps him to get to Sting, who is following close behind. Sting pushes Bret away as he follows Goldberg. We then see that these flyers are nWo Hollywood fliers that that say "Who's next? Goldberg you're next!"
Sting finds Lex Luger laid out backstage, and WCW security check on him immediately afterwards. It is then noticed that Sting has left the arena, as the WCW World Tag Team title match for scheduled for tonight against Scott Hall and The Giant has been cancelled for the time being.
Brian Adams beats "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan with the distraction from Vincent.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund is backstage, and gets an interview with Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, who says that he is the one guy that Sting can trust as he looks up to him the most, but Sting does not believe him. He wants Sting to know he can trust him, and that he will not let him down if he lets him be his tag team partner tonight.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund is sitting in an American Ironhorse motorcycle in the aisle to plug Road Wild, and announces he will be riding it to the event.
Before the next match, Raven announces that the next match between Sick Boy and Kanyon will not take place, as Kanyon has been swallowed up by the darkness and that the speculation is that either Kanyon got attacked by the Flock and is nursing his wounds in a dark, dirty alley, or nursing a drink in a dive bar. He tells Saturn he had better hope Kanyon was the victim of the Flock and a cement wall, because if he isn't, then the Triangle Match between Raven, Saturn and Kanyon will be a handicap match. Lodi then takes the microphone and tells Saturn that he will put the boots to him after Raven with done with him, which earns him a beating from Raven. As Sick Boy and Raven break Lodi's fingers, Saturn shows up, and Raven and Sick Boy leave the ring before Saturn decides to break the rest of Lodi's fingers and put him in the Death Valley Driver.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon and Dean Malenko. Malenko says he has no problem with how Jericho beat him last week and that he is moving on with his life, and that Jericho was the better man that night. Jericho shows up and says he cannot believe his ears, and says it is about time Malenko realized that, but admits he was a good opponent. Dillon tells Jericho he was on the verge of getting out of control, and Jericho relishes that fact and the fact that Malenko will never face him again. Dillon then tells Jericho that due to a clause in the rule book, a guest referee can be named for his Cruiserweight title match at Road Wild, and that the special guest referee is Dean Malenko. Jericho calls this yet another conspiracy against him.
Eddie Guerrero beats Juventud Guerrera. Before the match, it is announced that Sting has been confirmed as having left the arena and has not returned since.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund is back on the American Ironhorse motorcycle in the aisle as he plugs Road Wild.
Before the next match, Stevie Ray shows up with legal documents, notarized as of tonight, giving him power of attorney of the WCW World Television Championship. "Mean" Gene Okerlund cannot find the seal of notarization anywhere on the legal documents.

Stevie Ray chases Chavo to the back, his legal documents giving him power of attorney over the TV title revealed as a charade.
Pyrotechnics signal the start of the third hour.
Before the next match, Konnan tells Curt Hennig that it doesn't matter who he brings with him and that he should prepare for a beatdown.
Curt Hennig beats Konnan after interference from Scott Norton as Konnan has Hennig in the Tequila Sunrise. Kevin Nash shows up, and Hennig and Norton get out of there. Nash then checks on Konnan in the ring.
Rey Mysterio Jr. beats Chris Jericho. During the match, Jericho pulls referee Mark Curtis into the path of a springboard hurricanrana, and Rey lands on Curtis, knocking him out. Dean Malenko rushes into the ring and counts the pinfall after Rey counters the triple powerbomb attempt, having been made into a referee for Road Wild. Ring announcer is then seen on the floor at ringside, as Jericho has decked him outside of camera range.
We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.
Scott Steiner shows up. He talks about how he said his blood ran black and white last week, and says that his mother called him to tell him he was no better than anyone else and that his blood was red like everyone else's. He says there is nothing like a mother's love, and says that while black and white is for life, it's not for him and that he quits. He then apologizes to the fans and to his brother Rick Steiner, and asks Rick to come to the ring. Rick shows up, but it's not Rick: it's Buff Bagwell. Buff Bagwell shows up acting like Rick, wearing the headgear and spiked dog collar Rick is known for, before commanding him to do dog tricks and giving him treats. He then asks Buff who the leader of the two Steiners was as well as who the bigger, faster, stronger Steiner brother is. After Buff barks affirmatively as Scott says he would destroy his brother Rick, Buff tells the crowd they are stupid, and compliments Scott on how he tricked the fans and his brother Rick. He then wants to see Scott cry crocodile tears just to show exactly how he tricked everyone. As he does, Rick Steiner shows up with a steel chair and belts Scott with it. Buff flees the ring, and Rick chases after him as Brian Adams, Vincent and Scott Norton check on Scott Steiner.
We see another performance by The Nitro Girls. It is announced that Travis Tritt will perform live in concert on pay-per-view after Road Wild.
nWo Hollywood shows up and rush the ring before Diamond Dallas Page's wife Kimberly can leave the ring. Bischoff says if it wasn't for him, she and DDP would be slipping drugs into somebody's drinks in a random bar. Kimberly responds to this by slapping Bischoff, and before nWo Hollywood can do any more, DDP rushes the ring only to be pinned down by Brian Adams and The Giant. Eric Bischoff then continues to harass Kimberly and mock her crying, then Hogan says that if there is one thing everybody knows, especially nWo Hollywood, is that Kimberly is black and white from head to toe, and that he wants to show her how a real man handles situations by beating DDP up in front of her. Hogan tells Kimberly to tell DDP who her daddy is, and Vincent and The Disciple keep Kimberly from checking on DDP as The Giant hits DDP with a choke slam. Hogan then tells Kimberly to come to his house if she wants a real man, as he is the only real man for her. Bischoff then takes a piece of the yolk from a smashed egg in the ring and rubs it on DDP's face, telling him he has egg on his face before nWo Hollywood leaves the ring.
Before the next match, Scott Hall tells Kevin Nash to stop acting like a big baby and start acting like a man. Bret "The Hit Man" Hart then makes his way to the ring, then Sting shows up after the commercial break from the rafters to his pre-Wolfpac entrance music, in his pre-Wolfpac black-and-white colors, outfit and mannerisms, complete with the trenchcoat and black baseball bat.
Sting and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart beats Scott Hall and The Giant after Bret seemingly accidentally hits Hall with Sting's baseball bat, but referee reverses the decision due to the use of the bat, giving the win to Scott Hall and The Giant. After the match, Bret takes the tag team titles back as The Giant attacks Sting. The show ends with Goldberg hitting The Giant with a Spear.
It is announced that "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko (who is currently replaced on commentary by Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) has been called into a meeting by TNT and Time Warner executives, and it is hoped that Zbyszko will still show up on commentary. It is also mentioned that last week's "Texas gag order" may be involved.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Diamond Dallas Page. DDP says that after what Eric Bischoff did to Jay Leno, it wasn't hard to get him involved at Road Wild, and that he can get him involved because there isn't going to be much left of Hollywood Hogan. Bischoff, on the other hand, is a man he has known for a long time and a man he won't leaving much of either, as there isn't anyone in America who doesn't want to see him get smacked around like a little girl. He says that Leno will be training in Los Angeles for Road Wild, and that Hogan and Bischoff will soon feel the bang.
Before the next match, Jimmy Hart calls out Diamond Dallas Page as he is halfway up the stands on his way to the back. DDP heads back down and jumps the guardrail before getting in the ring. It is noticed that DDP's ribs are no longer taped up.

"The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko is back on commentary. He announces that "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes has filed a complaint against him with Time Warner, and showed them edited videos of him coming off the set. He has made a deal with Time Warner, saying he will do his job as long as they keep people who do not belong on the set off.
It's time for nWo Nightcap with Eric Bischoff and Miss Elizabeth. Bischoff tells some topical jokes to the boos of the fans before making fun of Jay Leno, telling Leno he will know the true meaning of the word "punchline" and telling Kevin Nash that Hollywood Hogan will beat him up if he sticks his nose in nWo Hollywood's business. He then brings Hogan out. Hogan says that he and Bischoff have now conquered all of show business, and that after Road Wild, Diamond Dallas Page will never be successful in professional wrestling again. As for Leno, NBC will remove him and replace him with Hogan and Bischoff after everyone working on the set wanted them back. He then tells Leno that when Bischoff kicks his head off, he would be smart to leave DDP for the picking.
We see a video package of Bret "The Hit Man" Hart.
Before the next match, Disco Inferno introduces Alex Wright as "one of the hottest young dancers in wrestling today" and "one of the best tag team partners anyone could ever have." Instead of Wright, however, it is Tokyo Magnum who walks out to Wright's music. It isn't long before the match is thrown out, however, as Scott Norton shows up and powerbombs both Psychosis and Tokyo Magnum. He then issues an open challenge to anyone in WCW. Hugh Morrus answers the challenge, despite Jimmy Hart trying to talk him out of it. Norton then hits another powerbomb on Morrus, and heads back to the back.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls. Also, it is announced that last week's Nitro Party pack winner is Jack Olivieri from Leesburg, Florida, and that another grand prize winner will be announced next week.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Goldberg. Goldberg says Road Wild is payback time, as he has thrown his hat in the ring for the nWo battle royal to take out The Giant. He does not care who he has to destroy to get to him, whether it be Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Brian Adams or even Sting, because The Giant is next. Sting shows up and stares down with Goldberg as flyer rain down from the top of the sky, and The Giant shows up with nWo Hollywood to tell him he doesn't have to wait until Saturday. Goldberg goes through The Giant's cronies, and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart sidesteps him to get to Sting, who is following close behind. Sting pushes Bret away as he follows Goldberg. We then see that these flyers are nWo Hollywood fliers that that say "Who's next? Goldberg you're next!"
Sting finds Lex Luger laid out backstage, and WCW security check on him immediately afterwards. It is then noticed that Sting has left the arena, as the WCW World Tag Team title match for scheduled for tonight against Scott Hall and The Giant has been cancelled for the time being.
Brian Adams beats "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan with the distraction from Vincent.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund is backstage, and gets an interview with Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, who says that he is the one guy that Sting can trust as he looks up to him the most, but Sting does not believe him. He wants Sting to know he can trust him, and that he will not let him down if he lets him be his tag team partner tonight.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund is sitting in an American Ironhorse motorcycle in the aisle to plug Road Wild, and announces he will be riding it to the event.
Before the next match, Raven announces that the next match between Sick Boy and Kanyon will not take place, as Kanyon has been swallowed up by the darkness and that the speculation is that either Kanyon got attacked by the Flock and is nursing his wounds in a dark, dirty alley, or nursing a drink in a dive bar. He tells Saturn he had better hope Kanyon was the victim of the Flock and a cement wall, because if he isn't, then the Triangle Match between Raven, Saturn and Kanyon will be a handicap match. Lodi then takes the microphone and tells Saturn that he will put the boots to him after Raven with done with him, which earns him a beating from Raven. As Sick Boy and Raven break Lodi's fingers, Saturn shows up, and Raven and Sick Boy leave the ring before Saturn decides to break the rest of Lodi's fingers and put him in the Death Valley Driver.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon and Dean Malenko. Malenko says he has no problem with how Jericho beat him last week and that he is moving on with his life, and that Jericho was the better man that night. Jericho shows up and says he cannot believe his ears, and says it is about time Malenko realized that, but admits he was a good opponent. Dillon tells Jericho he was on the verge of getting out of control, and Jericho relishes that fact and the fact that Malenko will never face him again. Dillon then tells Jericho that due to a clause in the rule book, a guest referee can be named for his Cruiserweight title match at Road Wild, and that the special guest referee is Dean Malenko. Jericho calls this yet another conspiracy against him.
Eddie Guerrero beats Juventud Guerrera. Before the match, it is announced that Sting has been confirmed as having left the arena and has not returned since.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for August 3, 1998
RAW
The Nation ("The Rock" Rocky Maivia, Owen Hart, D'Lo Brown, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry) show up. The Rock says that the entire world is ready to see him and Owen Hart take on The Undertaker and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, and asks them why they should wait when they can just have their match right now before calling them out. Instead of getting The Undertaker and Austin, he gets WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter instead, and The Rock tells him to get out and get their opponents. Austin shows up along with The Undertaker, but as Austin gets in the ring, The Undertaker is distracted by Kane and Paul Bearer, who follow close behind. The distraction leaves Austin on his own in the ring, and as The Undertaker heads back to the back to give chase, Mankind shows up and he and The Undertaker fight near the stage. Austin manages to hit a Stone Cold Stunner on Owen Hart, and eventually fights back before nearly hitting a Stunner on The Rock. Austin gets out of the ring, grabs a chair, and gets back in the ring with it as The Nation retreats.
Golga quickly beats "Marvelous" Marc Mero after Luna Vachon smashes flowers into Jacqueline's back. (This match is mysteriously missing from the episode as it appears on the WWE Network.)
"The Godfather" Kama Mustafa beats 2 Cold Scorpio to continue on to the semi-finals of the Brawl For All Tournament. Before the match, Dan "The Beast" Severn says he has nothing to prove in the tournament, and if he has a score to settle it, he will settle it when his hands are not bound. This allows The Godfather to come back into the tournament. The Godfather then gives 2 Cold Scorpio a choice: either go three rounds with him in which he'll beat his ass, or spend the night with three of his finest hos. Scorpio chooses to fight The Godfather.
Michael Cole interviews The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dog" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn). Road Dog says revenge is sweet, but not as sweet as wearing the tag team titles. They are more afraid of the lengths they'll go to to get the tag team titles back as they are of Kane and Mankind. Gunn says they'll keep sticking it in everyone's face as the "D" stands for determination and the "X" stands for excellence.
Kane and Mankind beat The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dog" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) despite Road Dog not being the legal man in the match when he is pinned.
Road Warrior Hawk addresses the fans, Titan Sports and even Road Warrior Animal as his real self - not as Hawk - and apologizes for his behavior last week. He hopes that everyone can find it in their hearts to forgive. He then says it's time to "do the Hawk thing."
In footage from earlier today, "Double J" Jeff Jarrett says that Road Warrior Hawk embarrassed everyone last week, and that it's time he scared him straight, Double J-style.
Road Warrior Hawk beats "Double J" Jeff Jarrett as Tennessee Lee tries to give Jarrett his belt to use as a weapon. As Road Warrior Animal shows up to congratulate Hawk, Southern Justice (Mark Canterbury and Dennis Knight) attack Animal and Hawk, and Darren "Puke" Drozdov goes after Jarrett, who eventually retreats.

WWF owner Vince McMahon arrives with Pat Patterson, Gerald Brisco, and WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter. McMahon says the highway to Hell ends at SummerSlam, and the way he sees it, both The Undertaker and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin are on two different highways that will eventually merge and that there might be a roadblock when The Undertaker and Austin lose the WWF Tag Team Championships. He says that new tag team champs who know about unity will be crowned in Owen Hart and "The Rock" Rocky Maivia. Vince then asks about what he considers a coincidence from last week's Raw, where "Stone Cold" Steve Austin threw a beer to The Undertaker, and says that when The Undertaker drank Austin's beer, he knew that Kane was about to obliterate Austin. Vince also brings up what happened earlier tonight with Austin and The Undertaker, then asks The Undertaker to come to the ring and try to disprove this "conspiracy theory" with a viable explanation. The Undertaker shows up, and when Vince tosses him a microphone and The Undertaker catches it, Vince says that he just proved his point. Austin shows up immediately after, and says he doesn't trust anybody and that Vince should know better than anyone else. As for the beer, The Undertaker looked thirsty, so he threw him a beer. It does not mean that they are friends, and the fact that he has both tag team belts doesn't mean anything to him as all he cares about is beating him at SummerSlam. He tells The Undertaker he can keep both tag belts, as he wants nothing to do with them and that the WWF Championship is the only title that matters to him. As Austin leaves, The Undertaker tells Austin to listen for a minute, as he is doing what Vince wants him to do and is trying to drive a wedge between them, as he does not want them to be champions. Just like he came to Austin like a man to ask for a shot at the WWF Championship, he asks him to come back to the ring and take what is his. Austin heads back to the ring, and takes one of the tag titles before leaving again, keeping his eyes on The Undertaker as he does. Vince is livid. The Undertaker then tells Austin one more thing: between now and SummerSlam, Austin is "the safest S.O.B. in the World Wrestling Federation," but at SummerSlam, he will take what is rightfully his: the WWF Championship.
Backstage, "The Rock" Rocky Maivia says he and Owen Hart could care less about who the tag team champs are and tells The Undertaker to rest in peace and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin that he will hit rock bottom. Owen Hart says that after they win the WWF Tag Team Championship, everyone will find out who the real "nugget" is.
"Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley beats X-Pac after Chyna hits X-Pac in the face with a forearm to face "The Rock" Rocky Maivia for the WWF Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. X-Pac confronts Triple H after the match.
Before the next match, Val Venis tells the ladies that if they are fans of the San Diego Chargers, he's got the lightning bolt to charge for their goal.
Val Venis and Taka Michinoku vs. Kaientai (Dick Togo and Sho Funaki) comes to a bizarre end after Taka turns on Venis by hitting him with a drop kick before joining Kaientai, saying that Yamaguchi-san wife is his sister. Kaientai and Taka then drag Venis to the back.

Before the next match, D'Lo Brown announces that he is being forced to defend the European Championship even though most of the people in San Diego are not even American citizens, and that he is wrestling in this match under protest.
D'Lo Brown retains the WWF European Championship against Dan "The Beast" Severn by disqualification. During the match, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry shows up and watches the match from ringside, and "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman shows up to watch the match from ringside from another corner. It is announced during the match that D-Generation X's ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Chyna, X-Pac, "Road Dog" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) locker room is locked, and has asked not to be interviews. After this announcement, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock shows up and gets in a fight with D'Lo Brown before throwing him and Mark Henry into the steel steps, ending the match. Severn is not happy, and Blackman attempts to calm Severn down. After D'Lo Brown makes it to the stage, he is suddenly attacked by Edge, who then makes his way back to the back. D'Lo Brown does not even know what happened.
Kaientai (Dick Togo, Men's Teioh, Sho Funaki), Yamaguchi-san and Taka Michinoku are seen attacking Val Venis backstage.
Tiger Ali Singh shows up. He says that American women have no class, morals or self-respect, and that tonight, another American woman will prove to the world that there is no limit to which an American woman will go for money. For every piece of garment they remove, he will give them $500. He commands his servant Babu to chose a woman, and he picks one out of the crowd. He picks a rather corpulent woman, who is commands to immediately strip, which she does. She takes off the shirt, followed by the skirt, then offers her $500 for every piece of clothing she puts back on. She puts the skirt and the shirt back on, and is immediately rewarded with $2,000.
We see footage from moments ago of Kaientai (Dick Togo, Men's Teioh, Sho Funaki), Yamaguchi-san and Taka Michinoku dragging Val Venis into a room, with Yamaguchi-san carrying a katana as the camera man is shooed out of the room.
Before the next match, it is announced that the woman who took off her clothes for Tiger Ali Singh for money will be on WWF Code Red on WWF.com after Raw, among others.
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin and The Undertaker retain the WWF Tag Team Championships against "The Rock" Rocky Maivia and Owen Hart. After the match, Kane and Mankind go after The Undertaker, but Kane seemingly accidentally hits Mankind with a steel chair. The Undertaker takes the chair from Kane and hits Mankind with it, then The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dog" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) get into the ring and fight off Kane and Mankind. Austin gets back into the ring and hits Road Dog with a Stone Cold Stunner.
Security manages to get into the locker room where Kaientai (Dick Togo, Men's Teioh, Sho Funaki), Yamaguchi-san and Taka Michinoku are located, and Yamaguchi-san is seen trying to cut Val Venis' privates off. The broadcast fades to black as the katana comes down.

Heatwave 1998 - The Recap
Joey Styles welcomes everyone to the show, and introduces his co-host and color commentator, "The Franchise" Shane Douglas, who is also accompanied by Francine. Shane Douglas is excited tonight, because Bam Bam Bigelow will get his hands on Taz, and reminds everyone how, at Living Dangerously, Bigelow put him through the ring, and that tonight, Bigelow will put Taz through the concrete floor. Joey Styles compliments Douglas on his appearances, as does Douglas to Styles. Styles says it is a new suit and is double breasted, and Francine responds by saying that "it couldn't have cost six grand like these" before putting Styles' face in her breasts.
Justin Credible beats Jerry Lynn in the final match of their summer series after much interference from "The Sexiest Man Alive" Jason, Nicole Bass and Chastity. Referee Jon Finegan and a trainer have to check on Jerry Lynn after the match. Chastity has to be carried to the back.
Tammy Lynn Sytch, aka Sunny, shows up with "No Gimmicks Needed" Chris Candido before the next match, and the two of them make out in the ring before Tammy stops ring announcer Bob Artise and does the introduction for Candido, billing him as from "Spring Lake, New Jersey, or wherever he damn well pleases," and calling him "240 of the hardest pounds I ever felt."
"No Gimmicks Needed" Chris Candido beats Lance Storm. During the match, Tammy Lynn Sytch hands Candido a handful of powder, but Storm sends it into Candido's face. A blinded Candido accidentally punches out referee Jim Molineaux, and Storm hits Candido with a leaping side kick. Storm goes up top, but Tammy gets into the ring, feels Storm's butt and pulls him off the top rope. Molineaux confronts Tammy and grabs the string on her dress, but when a blinded Candido rolls up Molineaux with a schoolboy, the top of Tammy's dress is yanked off and her breasts are almost exposed. Candido then hits the Blonde Bombshell to win.
We see footage from the outside of the arena where New Jack says the fans are ready to take Heatwave to the extreme, and that Jack Victory is getting his ass beat and this time, nobody will help Jack Victory. Suddenly, Jack Victory shows up, and New Jack says they can do this right now. Security has to keep both men separated, but a red car pulls up and The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray, D-Von and Big Dick Dudley) come out and attack New Jack. Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney also show up to hold back and protect New Jack, as does Pitbull #2. The Dudleys soon run back into the car and speed off, and New Jack's forehead is busted open. Axl Rotten calls for some help. As a result of this attack, the Weapons Match between Jack Victory and New Jack will not take place tonight.
Bill Alfonso says that Hayabusa and Jinsei Shinzaki are losers, and that "Mr. Monday Night" Rob Van Dam and Sabu will retain the tag team titles. Rob Van Dam says everyone here to see him - and Sabu - defend the ECW tag team titles, and fakes sneezing while saying the word "Hakushi." (Jinsei Shinzaki went by the name Hakushi in the WWF.)

Taz retains the FTW World Heavyweight Championship against Bam Bam Bigelow in an ECW Deathmatch with the Tazmission after he and Bam Bam Bigelow go through the entrance ramp. After the match, Taz tells "The Franchise" Shane Douglas "Beat me if you can, survive if I let you," which enrages Douglas, causing him to smash a headset down and throw a monitor down into the stands before leaving with Francine.
"The Quintessential Studmuffin" Joel Gertner and The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray, D-Von, Big Dick and Sign Guy Dudley) show up, accompanied by their preferred referee Jeff Jones, who is carrying a blow-up doll with Beulah McGillicutty's face on it (which is named "Beulah McGillislutty"). Buh Buh Ray tells the crowd he hates them, and that The Dudleys are the toughest men in professional wrestling today. They challenge anyone in WWF, WCW and ECW to bring it on down to the ring so they can kick their asses if they have the guts. Nobody shows up, and Buh Buh Ray says that there is not a person man enough to face the Dudley Boyz before taunting people in the crowd.
"The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer, Spike Dudley and The Sandman beat The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray, D-Von and Big Dick Dudley) in a brutal, violent Dudley Street Fight. During the match, Joel Gertner gets hit with a drop kick to the face from the Tree of Woe position by referee Jim Molineaux for calling him bald as Dreamer, Spike and The Sandman do the same to the Dudleys. After the match, Jack Victory attacks Dreamer with a guitar shot to the head, but New Jack shows up fresh from the hospital and makes the save, decimating the Dudleys along with Jack Victory. After the match, Dreamer announces that it is safe to say that Dayton, Ohio is ECW country as the show goes off the air.

WWF owner Vince McMahon introduces the host and star of Sunday Night Heat, his son Shane McMahon. Shane leaves, then comes back with two women (named Ally and Kylah) and heads to the commentary table. Shane joins in on commentary along with the two ladies, one of whom has posed for Playboy in lingerie, and even has his own make-up done in the middle of the first match.
Edge beats "Double J" Jeff Jarrett after Tennessee Lee mistakenly trips Double J. After the match, Double J shoves Tennessee Lee before heading to the back.
Amy Hunter-Cornelius and Mario Lopez of Pacific Blue are seen in the front row.
Jerry "The King" Lawler interviews D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Chyna, X-Pac). Lawler announces that WWF owner Vince McMahon has ordered a match between Triple H and X-Pac for tomorrow's night's Raw, with the winner getting a shot at the WWF Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. X-Pac makes it clear that he and Triple H are professionals and that they will go out tomorrow night, rip it up, and shake hands. After they both tell Vince to suck it, Triple H says that from the very beginning, when DX was formed, Vince could not stand them as they did exactly what we wanted, from what they wanted to say to whose ass they wanted to kick, and became the most titillating part of the show every week. He then says the crowd knows what they mean by "titillating," and if any of the ladies have the good, they have the time, and get a woman in a black vest to flash her breasts. Another woman flash her breasts after the interview ends.

"The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman shows up and has to play peacemaker between Shamrock and Severn. After Severn and Blackman, Shamrock smashes a chair on the floor mats at ringside and kicks down a set of steel steps.
Paul Bearer says the road to destruction begins tonight. It does not matter who they have to go through tomorrow night, for they will take back the WWF Tag Team Championships.

Gunn says anything can happen in the WWF and that he has respect for Dr. Death, and when they got in the ring, he got him with a good left hook.
