Generation NXT - NXT recap for October 19, 2016

Rich Swann and No Way Jose beat Tony Nese and Drew Gulak to continue to the next round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, where they will face The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar). After the match, Jose and Swann cut a celebratory promo.

It is announced that Hideo Itami is injured again and will be out for quite a while, this time with a injured neck, and that he will have to pull out of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

Earlier today, "The Perfect Ten" Tye Dillinger said he has beef with Bobby Roode for not being a man of word. He wanted General Manager William Regal to give him a match against Roode at NXT TakeOver: Toronto. This match is now official.

Austin Aries says that he would rather talk about a banana than his tag team partner for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. After mocking Hideo Itami's injury, he says that his partner will help him go all the way in the Classic.

Bobby Roode beats Sean Maluta. After the match, he says he will be at NXT TakeOver: Toronto, and that "The Perfect Ten" Tye Dillinger is whining for no reason. He says he tried to bring Dillinger up to his level, and when he says that at his stage, he has to eliminate the losers, Dillinger rushes into the ring. He and Bobby Roode brawl, and Dillinger comes out on top.

Liv Morgan is attacked backstage by Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, and that backstage attack turns into a beating on the entrance ramp. Billie and Peyton gloat, and say that they are putting the entire NXT women's division on notice - including Asuka - and say that the division belongs to them.

Austin Aries' partner is revealed to be "Mr. ROH" himself, Roderick Strong.

Austin Aries and Roderick Strong beat Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovic to continue to the next round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, where they will meet TM61 (Nick Miller and Shane Thorne).

Earlier today, Andrade "Cien" Almas said that in order to be part of NXT, he had to remove his mask. Unfortunately, the respect has not been reciprocated, and he has worked a lifetime to earn that respect but has gotten nothing since he has come to NXT. He says he is not about respect anymore, and that he only cares about himself.

Nikki Cross quickly beats Danielle Kamella, then continues to attack her even when Eric Young tries to hold her back only to get punched in the face as a result. Danielle Kamella then wins by reverse decision, and while Eric Young gets angry with the referee, Nikki, Alexander Wolfe and Sawyer Fulton don't seem to care.

Next week on NXT: #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) take on Tian Bhing and Hoho Lun! TJ Perkins and Kota Ibushi take on Lince Dorado and Mustafa Ali!

"The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura shows up to make his Champion's Address. He tells Samoa Joe he is not down with him, and if he wants the NXT title, he'll have to come and get it. He tells Joe that if he wants to come at him with cheap tactics, he will show no mercy. Patrick Clark then shows up with a new Prince gimmick, and tells Nakamura that Joe nearly ended his career, and suggest that Nakamura take on "The Patrick Clark Experience." Nakamura easily folds him as Samoa Joe shows up and stares Nakamura down from the entrance ramp to end the show.

She says that "the Asuka mystique" is gone, and plans to take the title back at TakeOver: Brooklyn II. She signs. Asuka tells Bayley she doesn't have what it takes, but admits she respects her. Bayley respects her, but the last contract signing she had, Asuka was left lying on the mat, and she tells Asuka to sign the contract, which she does. The match is official, and when Asuka offers to shake her hand, Bayley slaps it away. Bayley then gets back in the ring and stares down with Asuka.

The Authors of Pain beat Rob Ryzin and Adrian Nails. After the match, TM61 (Nick Miller and Shane Thorne) show up and make the save before The Authors can finish off Rob Ryzin, but they too fall.

"The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura tells Samoa Joe he's not hard to find, but Joe need not worry, as he can find him when he wants to.

Andrade "Cien" Almas beats Angelo Dawkins. After the match, Bobby Roode shows up and congratulates Almas, then says he talked to NXT General Manager William Regal early today, and felt that TakeOver: Brooklyn II needed to be more sophisticated and glorious. Therefore, he is facing Almas at TakeOver. He then tells Almas the TakeOver: Brooklyn II will only be there to see him, not Almas.

Austin Aries talks to NXT General Manager William Regal about getting a match at TakeOver: Brooklyn II. He gets one against No Way Jose, whom Regal says Aries has been avoiding for some time. Aries says that No Way Jose isn't in the same league as him, and he plans to prove that at TakeOver.

Sami Zayn says he's focused on Shinsuke Nakamura in Dallas, and knows that Nakamura is planning on making a big first impression. He says he won't let Nakamura make a big name out of himself at his expense.

Samoa Joe quickly beats Bull Dempsey with the Coaquina Clutch, and refuses to let go. Two NXT Superstars - escorted by William Regal - try to pull Joe away, but they just get beat up before Joe locks the Coaquina Clutch in on Bull again. "The Drifter" Elias Samson beats Steve Cutler.

The Hype Bros (Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley) are using their loss to The Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch) as a reason to get serious and make sure nothing derails the Hype Train.
