Generation NXT - NXT recap for May 11, 2016

Finn Balor returns tonight...

Finn Balor starts tonight's show in his first appearance since losing the NXT Championship to Samoa Joe. The crowd chants "Thank you, Finn," but Finn says he should be thanking them. He says his matches with Samoa Joe in London and Dallas could have went either way, but he won. As soon as he says that their match in Lowell, Massachusetts could have went either way, "The Drifter" Elias Samson shows up and sings a song about Finn. Finn responds with a Pele Kick that knocks Samson out of the ring, then he tosses the guitar at Samson on his way out.

Last week, Cathy Kelley interviewed Eric Young. He says there's no doubt in his mind that the best are in NXT and the WWE Universe, and that he's ready to prove he belongs. He says we're looking at a world-class champion, a world-class athlete, and a world-class maniac.

Finn Balor says he'll send a message to Samoa Joe after he's done beating "The Drifter" Elias Samson.

American Alpha (Jason Jordan and Chad Gable) beat Corey Hollis and John Skyler despite the distraction from The Revival (Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson).

Cathy Kelley interviews "The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura. When asked what "Time to rage" means, Nakamura says "Rage? Shaking is 'rage.'"

"The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura beats Alex Riley.

Austin Aries is talking with NXT General Manager William Regal, saying he wants to prove he's not just good, he's great. Blake and Murphy barge in, saying they're tired of being disrespected while asking for a tag team title shot. Austin Aries calls them the pot calling the kettle black due to their barging into Regal's office, and Alexa Bliss shows up after Aries namedrops her while saying they didn't have the decency to bring her into the room with them. Regal then makes a match next week between Blake and Murphy and the team of Austin Aries and a tag team partner of his choice.

Alexa Bliss beats Rachel Ellering.

Cathy Kelley interviews Bayley when Nia Jax shows up and makes fun of her Women's Championship loss to Asuka, and that when they get in the ring again, she won't be as lucky as she was the first time. Bayley tells Nia Jax that she choked her out once and she can choke her out again.

Bayley vs. Nia Jax is confirmed for next week.

Finn Balor beats "The Drifter" Elias Samson with a move now known as "1916." After the match, Finn Balor admits Samoa Joe beat him for the NXT Championship and that he wants his rematch for the title. He is obsessed with NXT and the NXT Championship, but now he is possessed, and he's ready to take the NXT title back. Samoa Joe shows up talking trash to Finn, but NXT General Manager William Regal rushes into the ring and makes the rematch official for NXT TakeOver on June 8th before the two can fight. Samoa Joe is livid, saying that he went through hell to get the title and that Finn Balor doesn't deserve another shot. Finn answers by hitting Joe with a dive over the top rope.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for March 30, 2016

American Alpha (Jason Jordan and Chad Gable) beat Corey Hollis and John Skyler. We see after the match that The Revival (Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson) have been watching this match from backstage.

In an exclusive video from earlier today, Finn Balor says that Samoa Joe thinks he's bigger than NXT, but he's obsessed with all the wrong things. Finn's obsession, on the other hand, is the reason why he's gotten this far and why he will beat Joe again at NXT TakeOver: Dallas.

Baron Corbin beats Mike Cuellari.

We see a Shinsuke Nakamura video package.

The Revival (Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson) beat Tucker Knight and Steve Cutler. We see after the match that American Alpha (Jason Jordan and Chad Gable) have been watching this match from backstage.

Apollo Crews beats Alex Riley. After the match, "The Drifter" Elias Sampson shows up and sings a tune. Apollo Crews dares him to get in the ring, but Sampson backs out.

Baron Corbin says that Austin Aries hasn't shown his face since he attacked him, and that Aries knows that he'll flatten him again in Dallas like he did the first time...only this time, he'll end his career.

Sami Zayn says he's focused on Shinsuke Nakamura in Dallas, and knows that Nakamura is planning on making a big first impression. He says he won't let Nakamura make a big name out of himself at his expense.

Samoa Joe quickly beats Bull Dempsey with the Coaquina Clutch, and refuses to let go. Two NXT Superstars - escorted by William Regal - try to pull Joe away, but they just get beat up before Joe locks the Coaquina Clutch in on Bull again. Finn Balor rushes in and stops him, then both Finn and Joe brawl outside the ring. The brawl goes all the way to the commentary table area, where it is eventually broken up by referees and security after a few minutes to end the show.

Dana Brooke and Emma show up, saying Deonna has learned nothing about respect, and that they run NXT. They insist that Asuka was lucky when she beat them, and say that if Deonna thinks she can beat Asuka, then she is more pathetic than she actually looks.

Eva Marie and Nia Jax say they sent a message when they attacked Bayley last week, and tell Asuka to stay out of their business unless she wants to be broken like the rest of the Women's Division.

Tye Dillinger gets an upset victory against Alex Riley.

Finn Balor tips his hat to Apollo Crews for their match two weeks ago, and says they will meet in the ring again. As for tonight's match, he doesn't know who will win, but knows Sami Zayn and Samoa Joe will go through hell and back for the NXT Championship, and he will be ready and waiting for the victor.

Baron Corbin tells William Regal that it's not too late to make the right decision, and wants in on the #1 contendership rematch. William Regal tells him his decision is final. Baron Corbin then tells Regal that he believes in an eye for an eye, especially when it comes to stealing.

Next week! American Alpha vs Blake and Murphy! Bayley and Carmella vs. Eva Marie and Nia Jax!

Samoa Joe vs. Sami Zayn to crown a #1 contender for the NXT Championship ends in controversy after both men's shoulders were down after Sami Zayn hit Samoa Joe with a Helluva Kick. He says he will have to review the finish of the match before he can come to a decision, much to the chagrin of Samoa Joe.
