Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for February 3, 2024

Cameron Cole beats Zay Washington after using the bottom rope for leverage on the pinfall attempt.



"Main Event" Brad Skimahorn and Big Nasty Phil watch the next match from ringside.

Mike Anthony beats J. Webb after the distraction from "Main Event" Brad Skimahorn and Big Nasty Phil.



We hear from King Cobra, who thanks the fans for their well-wishes and concern and that he is doing fine, but had the spike been lowered, he would have been blinded in his left eye. He thanks Mikey (aka Michael) for stepping up and doing his job as he recovered, and states that next week, he will be back making matches, and he addresses Simon as he says that he has unfinished business to take care of.



Dustin Starr announces that Memphis Wrestling will be returning to Strayhorn High School in Strayhorn, Mississippi again in February 2024. Members of the Strayhorn High School band are seen in the crowd.



Backstage, Ruffshot Lamont tells Notorious Bradley that this year is "the year of the hustlers" and that it is time to leave the past and head to the top as they face The Top Guns (Brandon Beretta and Joe Vinetti) today.



We hear from The Top Guns (Brandon Beretta and Joe Vinetti). Brandon Beretta says they will prove they are the best to come out Bob Orton Jr.'s wrestling academy, and Joe Vinetti says that they are where it matters. Beretta says they will not stop until they have tag team gold.



The L.A. Hustlers (Notorious Bradley and Ruffshot Lamont) beat The Top Guns (Brandon Beretta and Joe Vinetti).



Backstage, Diana Taylor thanks Ray Ray Sanders for helping her out, then says she has the perfect person to help them take down The Nyxx Network ("The Goddess of the Night" Nyxx, Sir Matthew, Lord Gaston).



We see some footage from the recent show at the LaFayette Music Room. Memphis Wrestling returns to the LaFayette Music Room on May 9, 2024.



"The Problem Child" Aaron Roberts beats Jay Smooth.



We see a vignette for The Twins of Salem (Jacksyn Crowley and Abel Booker).



Gio Savage and Draco vs. The Sexy Assassins (Sexy Assassin #1 and Sexy Assassin #2) ends in a no-contest when The Sexy Assassins unmask to reveal they are Too Kool II (Tim Grind and Grandmasta Flex), leading to a brawl on the outside. After the match, Dustin Starr interviews Too Kool II at the announce desk. Tim Grind says Gio Savage and Draco did not study the past well enough and that The Sexy Assassins were a product of Brian Christopher, who made their careers possible. He says that if Gio Savage and Draco wanted their attention, they got it. Grandmasta Flex says they held real gold while Gio Savage and Draco wore the plastic ones from Walmart and that "That's the business, dawg!"

Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for October 1, 2022

Dustin Starr interviews Gio Savage to start today's show. Gio Savage shows Dustin how to do the shoulder shuffle that he does on the way to the ring.

Gio Savage beats Cameron Cole by count-out after Cameron Cole walks out on the match. After the match, Cameron Cole runs back into the ring and attacks Gio Savage from behind.



We hear from Cassandra Golden, who thanks the fans for their support and tells them to stay tuned for the new golden era in women's wrestling in Memphis.



Mackenzie Morgan guests on commentary for the next match (and reports that "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock is having an emotional meltdown backstage).

"The Goddess of the Night" Nyxx beats Shalonce Royal after Shalonce fakes a hurt ankle and goes for a cheap shot only for the whole plan to backfire. After the match, Shalonce Royal attacks Nyxx, then puts her foot on Nyxx and makes the referee count a pinfall despite not winning the match.



Dustin Starr interviews Brad Skimahorn and Uncle Mikey at the announce desk. Brad say that over the last couple of months, Briar Skimahorn has not been medically cleared, and his father had a heart attack and a stroke on the same day. Brad says he is pulling for their father, then Dysfunction (Brandon Espinosa, Kyle Roberts, DNA) shows up. Espinosa tells Brad that he has some sad news: his father died on the inside after watching him wrestle. Uncle Mikey holds Brad back, then Espinosa gives him the choice of joining Dysfunction or wrestling in the ring to kill his father even more.

Dysfunction (Brandon Espinosa and Kyle Roberts) beat The Skimahorns (Brad Skimahorn and Uncle Mikey) after Espinosa rolls Brad Skimahorn up as Brad pins Kyle Roberts (who is not the legal man at the end of the match).



We see a video package of K. Toomer.

K-Toomer beats Ethan Ross, Brandon Savage, and Storybook Prince Gaston in a Fatjitsu exhibition. When "Big Trouble" Ben Bishop steps up, Ethan Ross and Brandon Savage attack both men only to get a big beating. Both men have a staredown followed by a fist bump.





"The Best of the Best" Austin Lane beats Matt Williams in a Bullrope Match after tying Matt Williams up with the bullrope for an STF in the middle of the ring.



Dustin Starr interviews The Hollywood Clique at the announce desk. "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock says there is a conspiracy against him in Memphis Wrestling and that everyone is against The Hollywood Clique, even saying that Dustin Starr brainwashed Teddy Long. Blaylock tells Ray Sanders that he blew his opportunity and says he did not call it down the middle, then accuses Sanders of being paid off by Dustin Starr before forcing him to remove his yellow referee shirt. He also yells at Sanders for leaving marks on his car when he cleaned it and always getting the cheap water from the local market instead of Fiji water, then The Hollywood Clique beat up Ray Sanders. Suddenly, Derrick King shows up and fights off The Hollywood Clique, forcing them to retreat. Derrick King then helps Ray Sanders up and raises his hand.

Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for April 16, 2022

In footage from earlier today, "The Mad Esthetician" Amber Rodriguez tells Carlos Alexander Rios to get ready for his match.

"Big Swole" Justin Cole beats Carlos Alexander Rios. After the match, the referee for the match - who was seen last week with a stained shirt - is seen eating something off the wrestling mat.



We hear from Mike Anthony, who says there is always a roadblock coming in between him and his destiny and that the Cobra Cup dictates the pace, flow and show, and that the #1 contender for the Memphis Heritage Championship ceases to exist to him.



Mike Anthony beats "Remarkable" Ryan Rembrandt.



In footage from earlier in the week, Dustin Starr gets a call from Eric McMahon, who tells him he has hand-delivered something to his mailbox and tells him to sign it as soon as possible if he wants The Posse (Simon and Lil Chris) to re-sign.



"The GunShow" Brett Michaels beats Martin after knocking Kross of the ring apron with a lariat.

Dustin Starr interviews "The GunShow" Brett Michaels at the announce desk. Brett says that since there is a new #1 contender in his friend "Big Swole" Justin Cole, "whatever happens, happens," and he will not take it easy on Justin Cole. As for Mike Anthony, he has not forgotten about him, and tells him "Cash that Cobra Cup in any time you want...I got you."



Before the next match, Booker T says there is no better place to settle a good fight than in Memphis, Tennessee, and declares that this match get started right now before guesting on commentary.



Will Allday beats Cameron Cole after Booker T stops Cameron Cole from using a chair as a weapon.

Championship Gold - Championship Wrestling presented by PRO Shingle recap for December 5, 2020

At the start of the show, Jon Roberts interviews Ray Rosas, who says it is really difficult to hold things together when one's own playbook is used against them, and while he deserves it, Jordan Clearwater deserved a clean win. He considers himself a tape-watcher and says he had SoCal Distancing accounted for except for one new member, and he is about to administer the cure in the form of Ray Rosas because he is not going anywhere. Rosas then dares SoCal Distancing to show him what they've got.



Dustin Starr announces that Maria Starr will be returning to the show very soon. He also announces that Dom Kubrick is the mystery man behind the mask from last week.

Before the next match, Halston Boddy and Heather Monroe confront CeCe Chanel for attacking them during the Halloween episode a few weeks ago. CeCe explains herself, but Boddy doesn't want to hear it and Heather demands an apology. Suddenly, Jamie Iovine shows up, then tells Halston Boddy has forgotten where he has come from after not calling him for a year, and while that is water under the bridge, he has Ruby Raze attack Heather Monroe from behind, saying it hurt coming from her. Iovine then makes a tag team match between the team of CeCe and Ruby and the team of Heather and Halston Boddy, and if Halston and Heather lose, there will be no United Women's Championship.



Clint Armstrong interviews Levi Shapiro and Howdy Price. Howdy says EJ Sparks wishes he could be on their level and be the Television Champion, and will wish he never faced Shapiro. Shapiro says Sparks may be Phoenix's favorite son, but he will bring an unforgettable loss back to Phoenix, Arizona.



"The Western Roughneck" Jesse James beats Jack Cartwright. After the match, Jesse James attacks Jack Cartwright and tells him he doesn't like him or anything about him. He then hits Cartwright with another lariat, then runs away after Anthony Idol chases him out of the ring.



John Roberts interviews Beef Candy (Ritchie Slade and Flex McCalleon). Ritchie Slade says he needed treatment after "The Golden Boy" Jordan Clearwater hit him in the face, and Flex McCalleon says Clearwater is stupid enough to introduce a "no-touch" clause before their match. He then tells Clearwater that he will have to get in line, as Beef Candy (Slade and McCalleon) will get the win.



Before the next match, Anthony Idol says it is a long way to the top in pro wrestling and that Jack Cartwright reached out to him for help, and after how he started in professional wrestling without someone for help, he wants to reach out to younger talent.



Anthony Idol beats Cameron Cole - now known as "Cam" - with the Idol Overdrive despite being poked in the eyes.



We see another vignette for Jack Banning, who says that nobody is meant for anything or belongs anywhere, and that he has some hard pills to swallow for anybody who believes they belong on top.



Snypes beats Slice Boogie after Slice Boogie's right leg gives out on him during the match.

Backstage, John Roberts interviews Heather Monroe and Halston Boddy, whose recently announced match will be on the 500th Episode Spectacular. Heather says she did not think Nikko Marquez would stoop so low. After they leave, Slice Boogie shows up and says his shin got roughed up, then The Bodega (Danny "Limelight" Rivera and "King FatBoy" Papo Esco) shows up and Danny Limelight mocks Slice for losing. Papo Esco tells Slice Boogie that they know how Slice Boogie fights and tells him that he can keep playing the nice guy on his own or he can join up with them for protection.



Levi Shapiro retains the United Television Championship against EJ Sparks after Howdy Price loads Shapiro's glove on the outside.

Championship Gold - Championship Wrestling presented by PRO Shingle recap for December 7, 2019

Jordan Clearwater beats Cameron Cole.

Super Beetle beats DJ Talamantez.



Backstage, Kathy Campanelli teams with Ryan Taylor and Sandra Moone. Taylor says that he and Moone will be one in today's main event, while Moone says that Heather Monroe is scared of the competition and they are not leaving without a fight. Moone tells Monroe to take a deep breath, because love is in the air tonight.



Wasted Youth (Adriel Noctis and Sketch) beat The Millennials (Brendan Devine and Daniel Moon).



Adrian Quest beats Kasai. After the match, Adrian Quest calls out Jamie Iovine for saying even he can beat him, then tells him to put his money where his mouth is so he can beat Iovine before he beats Royce Isaacs for the UWN Television Championship.





Ryan Taylor and Sandra Moone beat The Upper Class (Royce Isaacs and Heather Monroe).
