Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for December 8, 2022

Trey Miguel beats Jason Hotch in the BTI match, then spray paints his logo on Hotch's chest after the match.

The show begins with Deaner making it clear that he will continue where Eric Young left off and that Violent By Design (Eric Young, Deaner, Big Kon, Alan Angels) was a movement to cure the business of the sickness with the designer at the helm. He says that the righteous ones never fade or die, and that the men who walk the valley are not only cleansed, but part of the chosen few. He says that Sami Callihan cut off the snake's head, but three heads grew back. Deaner then tells Sami Callihan go back into the desert and fear the evil that he sees, for what he sees is the design.

The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) vs. Heath and Rhino for the Impact World Tag Team Championships ends in a no-contest after Heath and Rhino are hit with simultaneous Wake-Up Calls by The Major Players (Matt Cardona and Brian Myers).

We see a video package chronicling the recent events between "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander and Bully Ray.

Backstage, "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander tells Scott D'Amore that he is in the situation that he is in because he has let his guard down and that he saw Bully Ray as just another obstacle. He insists that he has to do this tonight and that he has to do things his way. Alexander leaves, then Johnny Swinger and Zicky Dice show up wanting a title shot. D'Amore tells Swinger to win fifty matches, then leaves.

Backstage, Jordynne Grace and Mickie James have a photo shoot for their match. Mickie says that while she respects Jordynne and is excited for their match, she will not take it easy on her and that she wants to earn the Knockouts Championship. Jordynne Grace says that she will not go easy on her, either, and that she respects Mickie James enough to retire her.

Savannah Evans beats Taya Valkyrie with a full nelson slam after avoiding the Road to Valhalla.

We see a video package of "Inevitable" Ace Austin and Chris Bey making it big in Japan.

Backstage, Moose attacks Bhupinder Gujjar, then tells him to tell Joe Hendry to believe in Moose.

Backstage, we hear from Delirious, who says he has been on a blind journey for the past year. He says that he has helped the trajectory that Eddie Edwards has been on for the past ten years, and he wants a match with him. He says he will come at him with honor, but it will be up to Eddie if he does the same. Delirious then says that he is on another level right now and that he is very dangerous.

Big Kon - now known as just "Kon" - beats Sami Callihan after Callihan grabs a steel chair only for Alan Angels to take it from him and distract the ref, allowing Deaner to hit a cheap shot that allows Kon to win. (Violent By Design [Deaner, Kon, Alan Angels] is now known as "The Design.")

Backstage, Tommy Dreamer tells "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander he needs to talk to him, but Alexander says "Not now" as he heads to the ring.

Backstage, Gia Miler interviews Trey Miguel. When asked why he would spray paint his logo on the X Division Championship, he says that he did not disrespect the title when he put it on his leg, then considers spray painting Gia Miller when she calls his recent actions disrespectful. Gia Miller runs away as Crazzy Steve grabs Trey, who tells him that actions have consequences and that while he is an artist himself, he tags something he wants with blood. Trey threatens to give him a better paint job than he did Black Taurus as he runs away. Crazzy Steve laughs.

"The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander heads to the ring. Alexander says Impact management have given him blessing to do things his way, then announces that right here, right now, there will be a Impact World Championship open challenge. He says there is only one person that he wants to see walking down the ramp, then tells Bully Ray that he has nothing to lose, and if he walks down the ramp and beats him right now, he can be world champion. He then says that if Bully Ray loses, he can still call his shot, and that there is no reason to come down the ramp unless he is afraid to face him. Bully Ray shows up on the video screen, and says that while Josh Alexander has a nice offer, he is looking at pictures of Josh and his wife from Over Drive, and he proceeds to mock Josh, his wife and the pain that he put them through. He says that he cannot make it tonight or allow Josh to make him break his word, and that it will happen at Hard To Kill as he wants it. Suddenly, "Speedball" Mike Bailey heads to the ring, and says that while Bully Ray is not here, he is, and if this is still an open challenge, they can do this. Josh calls for a referee to start the world title match.

In a nearly hour-long slugfest, "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander retains the Impact Wrestling World Championship against "Speedball" Mike Bailey.
