Generation NXT - NXT recap for November 8, 2022

Joe Gacy beats Cameron Grimes after Jagger Reid distracts the referee and Ava Raine shoves Grimes off the top rope, allowing Gacy to hit the backspring lariat for the win.

Backstage, Axiom meets with Nathan Frazer, who says it will be a few more weeks before he is cleared medically. As Axiom says Frazer will be back before he knows it, JD McDonagh shows up and says Axiom knows nothing about pain. After JD McDonagh says Axiom would not have done any better than Axiom, Axiom reminds McDonagh has been the bridesmaid but never the bridge when it comes to the NXT Championship, and this leads to a match between them.

At the barber shop, Carmelo Hayes says he has to put respect on Wes Lee for what he had to go through to become North American Champion, but Wes Lee has not beaten him and is not the true champion because of that. He says Wes Lee is smooth and is "a good tag guy," but Wes Lee is not the A-Champ until he can beat him, and that if they face off for the title, it will be a short title reign. Trick Williams says that this match will happen in two weeks' time, and Carmelo says that next week, there will be a contract signing for that match.

Scrypts has a message for NXT, where he says that he will arrive and watch NXT fall.

Elektra Lopez beats Sol Ruca. After the match, Indi Hartwell attacks Elektra Lopez, and referees have to break up the brawl.

Backstage, Thea Hail says that Charlie Dempsey besmirched Chase U when he attacked Andre Chase, and Duke Hudson says he wants to support - and only support - Thea Hail in her match, and he fires up Andre Chase for a rematch against Charlie Dempsey.

Jacy Jayne calls Mandy Rose on Facetime, and says she is still nervous after what happened regarding Alba Fyre. Mandy Rose asks Jacy Jayne to hang out with her, then a mall cop pulls up behind Jacy Jayne. The mall cop ends up being Alba Fyre, who beats Jacy up. Alba Fyre tells Mandy Rose that she is making good on her promises to take out all three members of Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne) and that she is coming for her.

Charlie Dempsey beats Andre Chase after Duke Hudson takes Thea Hail's towel and throws it in the ring as Dempsey has Andre Chase in a submission hold.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Indi Hartwell, who says that Elektra Lopez had a beating coming, and that Elektra Lopez will not prove her point on her. She says she cannot count on anyone and that she must take what she wants, and that she is betting on herself.

At the bar, Fallon Henley, Josh Briggs, and Brooks Jensen notice Kiana James and her assistant Jean walk in. Kiana says she sees potential in the property for the bar, but Fallon is not interested and says the place is not for sale. Kiana says she is offering a lot of money for the bar, but Fallon Henley mentions the memories she had in this bar, which has been in her family for years. Kiana gives one less offer, but Fallon refuses it, and tells Kiana and Jean to get out.

Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo beats Hank Walker after poking Walker in the eye.

Backstage, Grayson Waller announces that The Grayson Waller Effect is next.

It's time for The Grayson Waller Effect. After Grayson Waller mocks R-Truth for getting injured, he introduces tonight's guests. Von Wagner and Mr. Stone arrive first, followed by Bron Breakker. Von Wagner says he is not surprised that people do not like him, and Mr. Stone says the fans never gave him a chance because they are jealous of him for being a "one-of-a-kind" athlete. Wagner says that the fans can "piss and moan" all day, because he is here for the NXT Championship, and after laying Bron Breakker out last week, nothing will change next week. Bron Breakker dares Mr. Stone to attack him from behind like he did last week, then says he has learned that if you want something, you have to go out and take it, and that nobody will take the NXT Championship from him. Von Wagner says he will be the one to take it from him, and says he did not need his family pedigree to get into NXT and will not need it to take his title. Breakker and Wagner then have a staredown, and Breakker rams Mr. Stone's head into the table.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Wes Lee. Wes Lee says not becoming a double champion last week hurt, then says he has heard what Carmelo Hayes has had to say. He says his career was supposed to be over and he was not supposed to hold singles gold, but here he is. He says that he will face a man who has been untouchable for over a year, but he will sign that contract and he will make Carmelo miss.

We hear form Cora Jade, who says Wendy Choo has a friend complex, not a hero complex, then says she does not know Wendy and does want to know her because she reeks of desperation to be liked and accepted. She says that no matter how long she tries, she will never be "in," and she warns Wendy to think twice before making a friend at her expense.

We hear from Apollo Crews, who says he is in Lagos, Nigeria to find the next big WWE Superstar, then says the next NXT Champion is right here and it is him.

JD McDonagh beats Axiom by referee stoppage after hyperextending Axiom's right leg. After the match, JD McDonagh says he severely strained Axiom's leg and did not break it, as he is a nice guy, then says he stops being nice when someone stands between himself and championship gold. He then dares the locker room to get on his level and test him, and especially dares Apollo Crews to do the same.

Damon Kemp beats Brutus Creed by disqualfication in a five-minute match after Brutus hits him in the back with a chair twice. After the match, Brutus Creed grabs the chair again and smacks Damon Kemp with it a third time. Afterwards, Veer Mahaan and Sanga are seen watching from the balcony.

We hear from Justice Anthony, who says that he has cleaned the slate for a fresh start, then says that some people will be getting his form of justice.

Backstage, Indi Hartwell is met by Roxanne Perez, but Indi tells Roxanne that there are no friends in this business.

Katana Chance and Kayden Carter retain the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships against Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark after Zoey nearly inadvertently hits Nikkita. After the match, Zoey and Nikkita respectfully hand the women's tag titles to Kayden and Katana, but it is a ruse that allows Zoey to turn on Nikkita by hitting her with one of the belts.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
