Starrs of Tomorrow, Week One - Memphis Wrestling recap for November 5, 2022

Terrence Ward guests on commentary this week.

We are introduced to WrestleCenter trainee Mackenzie Morgan. After being a backstage interviewer, she is debuting as a wrestler. While she has a friendship with "The Goddess of the Night" Nyxx, Nyxx will be her opponent today.

"The Goddess of the Night" Nyxx beats Mackenzie Morgan. Both competitors show good sportsmanship after the match.

Dustin Starr interviews Derrick King, who is also a coach at the WrestleCenter, at the announce desk. Derrick says that seeing what the trainees doing what they want to be makes him excited to be part of this. As the interview continues, Big John Dalton shows up. Dalton thanks the fans for their support, then says he has not been able to wrestle for some time. He then says that his father has gotten with the Championship Wrestling committee and has signed a waiver allowing him to wrestle. Dustin Starr takes a look at the waiver and notices that it is legitimate, then Dalton says he wants his first match to be against Derrick King. Derrick King says that is Dalton wants to challenge him, then he is with it. He then slaps Dalton in the face.

We hear from Alan Steel, who is the head trainer at the WrestleCenter. He says the future of Memphis wrestling is in good hands and that everyone has put in the blood, sweat and tears and the hard work is paying off. He says that this has put a smile on his face that he can barely remove, then says that they are not your average greenhorns and that they are the stars of tomorrow. He says some of them might not follow all the rules, because he did not, but everyone will see their love and passion for the business.

We hear from The Hot Shots (Coach Justin Klein, Ethan Ross, Brandon Savage, Jason Dread). Coach Klein says that since they have come to Memphis Wrestling, they have been ambushed by surprise opponents, hustled by The L.A. Hustlers (Notorious Bradley and Ruff Shot Lamont) and cheated by incompetent referees. He says fraternity men of their stature are used to a little more respect and privilege than they are seeing, and says that in the real world, dues are paid with American Express. Coach Klein says that tonight, they will see if the rookies can hang, then says none of them can hang with The Hot Shots.

Dustin Starr interviews The Hot Shots (Coach Justin Klein, Ethan Ross, Brandon Savage, Jason Dread) at the announce desk. Coach Klein says that the stars of tomorrow will be lucky to even see tomorrow as The Hot Shots are the stars of today.

Ray Collins beats Ethan Ross by disqualification after the rest of The Hot Shots (Coach Justin Klein, Brandon Savage, Jason Dread) attack Ray Collins. As Ray Collins receives a four-on-one beatdown, WrestleCenter trainee Adamas Vain shows up and makes the save for Ray Collins by going after The Hot Shots.

We hear from WrestleCenter trainee "The Reverend" Ash Taylor, who says that the time has come for everyone to bow their heads and reach down into their pockets, as the righteous path has made its way to Memphis and the righteous path will bless him and the fans as it leads him to the heart of Memphis Wrestling.

We hear from WrestleCenter trainee Timothy Bosby, who calls himself a prodigy and freak athlete who has won tournament after tournament and championship after championship in high school amateur wrestling. He says winning is in his blood, and today, he will face Zay Washington. He says that his talent outweighs Zay's tenure and that he will win the Memphis Wrestling Internet Championship on his first night.

Alan Steel guest on commentary for the next match.

Zay Washington retains the Memphis Wrestling Internet Championship against Tim Bosby with an inside cradle after playing possum. During the match, Washington is briefly distracted by "The Problem Child" Aaron Roberts' manager. After the match, Bosby refuses to shake Washington's hand and only does so when Alan Steel tells him to do it. Afterwards, Bosby walks past Steel and refuses to acknowledge him.
