Raw Deal - Raw recap for June 8, 2020

Sasha Banks and Bayley show up after Asuka to start tonight's show. Bayley says the fans should appreciate that they are here, and Sasha Banks says that tonight will not be Asuka's night. Bayley and Sasha then brag about winning the women's tag titles. Asuka says that this is her ring, and dares Sasha and Bayley to fight her. Bayley says that while this is usually Asuka's ring, they are able to be wherever they want now that they are women's tag team champions. Suddenly, Charlotte Flair shows up. Charlotte says she's been going from brand to brand, and after wishing them luck keeping up with her stamina, she tells Bayley and Sasha to make it quick as she and Asuka have a match. Suddenly, The IIconics (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce) show up. The IIconics state that the match everyone wants to see is at Backlash in the form of a Women's Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match between them, the team of Sasha and Bayley and the team of Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss. Asuka screams at The IIconics, then Bayley says that Charlotte's attempt to drive a wedge between her and Sasha did not work. Charlotte says she does not need a title to be relevant, and that Bayley and Sasha are still garbage. Sasha and Bayley attack Charlotte, and this starts a brawl where The IIconics, Bayley and Sasha seemingly lay out Chalotte and Asuka before Asuka and Charlotte get back up and clear the ring.

Asuka and Charlotte Flair beat The IIconics (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce) and the team of Sasha Banks and Bayley after Asuka tags herself in while Charlotte goes for a top rope moonsault to put Billie Kay in the Asuka Lock. After the match, Charlotte Flair lays out Asuka and lifts up the WWE Raw Women's Championship.

Seth Rollins guests on commentary as Rey Mysterio is about to give an update on his medical condition. Rey says that the prognosis for his eye is hopeful, but it is still healing and can still be hurt, and warns Rollins that he has a 619 with Rollins' name all over it and that Rollins will pay for what he did to him. Rollins tells Rey he does not understand the power of his words and that he had the power to walk away after his greatest moment in WWE but continued to spread lies and misinformation. He says that he is a peaceful man and that he gave him the opportunity to walk away a legend, and offers him and his son Dominick one more chance to come to Raw next week in peace so he can show him that his sacrifice was for the greater good. Rey says Rollins is inviting him only because he is not medically cleared, and when he is, the world will know about it. Rollins tells Rey he has it all wrong, then he is suddenly attacked by Aleister Black.

Aleister Black and Humberto Carrillo beat Austin Theory and Murphy. After the match, Seth Rollins shows up on the stage wearing a Rey Mysterio mask, and this distracts Aleister and Carrillo. Rollins, Theory and Murphy then lay Aleister and Carrillo out. Theory and Murphy then hang Aleister on the top rope, then Rollins tells Aleister he will make him a sacrifice before hitting him with The Stomp.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Randy Orton, who says that there could be two guests on The Peep Show tonight.

It's time for The Peep Show. Christian immediately introduces Edge as his guest for tonight. Christian talks about how genuinely excited he was about Edge's return, but says that Edge may be running on fumes. Christian says that Edge could not even pull off "the greatest wrestling match ever" in his prime, as that is a high, lofty expectation. As Christian says that Edge may not have what it takes, Edge tells him to "pump the brakes" and says he hasn't had a straight-up wrestling match in over nine years and that he is being dropped at Mount Everest with no guide and no equipment. He says that he is not the same Edge who looked him in the eye when he did not have the confidence before their tag team matches or the Edge who fired on all cylinders, and that he does not know how many cylinders he still has. Christian asks Edge where his belief is, and says he knew someone who believed in Edge more than anyone: Edge's mom, who was there for all of his title wins. He says that if the Edge he knows will now show up, then he should step through the ropes and go home. Edge stares at Christian, and Christian says "That's what I was looking for; there are those eyes." Christian says that everyone believes in him, and says that Edge has "the anti-venom" and is as good as he has ever been. Suddenly, Randy Orton shows up on the TitanTron and tells Edge and Christian to "shut the hell up" or else he will be sick to his stomach. He says Edge made one "pathetic" guarantee to try, and that he will not know what to do when he does not live up to expectations. He says that he will take everything away from Edge and send him back home to his family a broken man when his redemption ends. When the Performance Center fans says "It's not over," Edge simply says "No, it's not."

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews MVP, who says that an in-depth breakdown of the full nelson that Bobby Lashley will use to beat Drew McIntyre will be on The VIP Lounge. Suddenly, R-Truth opens a nearby box and tells him that he did not see him. As R-Truth asks MVP to look out for him, he is put in a full nelson by Bobby Lashley.

Montez Ford wins at the 100m dash, while Erik excels at archery. The Street Profits whin the Flip Cup competition, while The Viking Raiders win sword fighting when Ford forfeits. The Viking Raiders start a comeback by winning the turkey leg eating contest and miraculously winning the pole vault. Both teams are 5-5 at the end of the decathlon.

Apollo Crews shows up. Crews says he is excited to defend the United States Championship at Backlash after the winner of the Triple Threat Match between Angel Garza, Andrade and Kevin Owens, which is up next. Andrade and Garza show up together with Zelina Vega, but they are soon attacked from behind by Kevin Owens, getting the match underway.

Andrade beats Angel Garza and Kevin Owens in a Triple Threat Match after hitting a leg drop on Owens following a Stunner to Garza and picking the bones, and goes on to face Apollo Crews for the WWE United States Championship at Backlash.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Charlotte Flair. Charlotte says she was not pinned or submitted at NXT TakeOver: In Your House, and says she elevated the NXT Women's Championship and is now main eventing Raw. As she says that Asuka stole her moment, Asuka dances her way into the interview, and Charlotte asks Asuka if she ever takes anything seriously. Asuka says "Yes, I do," then slaps her in the face and leaves.

Backstage, Andrade and Angel Garza argue over their match as well as Zelina Vega being pushed to the ground. An angry Zelina shows up and points forward, and Andrade and Garza leave with Zelina.

We hear from Kurt Angle, who predicts that Edge will beat Randy Orton at Backlash.

Backstage, The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) ask Drew McIntyre if he has decided to become a Viking and join the raid. McIntyre compliments them on their decathlon performance, says Ivar is cute (Erik, not so much) and invites them to a post-match celebration with turkey legs.

It's time for The MVP Lounge. Tonight's guest is Bobby Lashley. However, Drew McIntyre's entrance theme hits, and McIntyre shows up instead. McIntyre says he could not help but notice that Lana and Lashley were having a disagreement backstage, and MVP tells McIntrye that Lashley will put the full nelson on him to win the WWE Championship at Backlash. McIntyre says that MVP has been hiding after Lashley after taking one too many Claymore Kicks, but MVP says that he hides behind no one and that Lashley will beat McIntyre for the WWE Championship. After McIntyre jokes about MVP giving Lashley the same advice that has won him zero world championships, and tells MVP to either take the Claymore Kick like a man or run away so he can give it to him anyway, Lashley shows up. As McIntyre tells Lashley he will have to take the title away from his cold dead hands, McIntyre punches MVP, then The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) show up.

MVP and Bobby Lashley beat The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) with a full nelson to Erik. During the match, Charly Caruso interviews Lana, who says taht while MVP is leeching onto Bobby Lashley, she is respecting Lashley's wishes for he will soon become champion. She also says that her career is suffering because she is focused too much on her marriage to Lashley, and asks how 2020 can be her year if she keeps doing this. After the match, Lashley takes out Montez Ford and puts Ivar in the full nelson, but The Street Profits stop him and McIntyre hits Lashley with a Claymore Kick.
