Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for June 9, 2020

Michael Elgin beats Ken Shamrock and Sami Callihan in a Triple Threat Match after exposing a top turnbuckle as Shamrock pulls him away from it during an ankle lock. After Elgin sends Callihan into Shamrock, sending Shamrock into the exposed turnbuckle as a result, Elgin hits Shamrock with the Elgin Bomb for the win. After the match, Shamrock and Callihan lock eyes, then Callihan makes the arena dark and disappears.

In a backstage interview with Gia Miller, Jordynne Grace says coming to Impact Wrestling is like coming home, and that the uneasy thing is being stuck at home while only able to study and train. She says she is ready for a return to normalcy, which to her is dominating the competition. When she drives Taya Valkyrie's head into the mat, she will know that everything is back to normal.

Backstage, Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz talk about recent events with Trey Miguel, who wants to know who jumped him backstage. Suddenly, The North ("All Ego" Ethan Page and "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander) show up and say that they will beat them next week. Ethan Page tries to imply that Zachary attacked Trey, then says that The Rascalz (Xavier, Wentz, Miguel) should be worried about them. Page then tells Trey to watch his back.

Tasha Steelz beats Susie with a cutter following the distraction from Kiera Hogan on the ring apron.

Gia Miller waits backstage to interview Ace Austin. Austin suddenly shows up and says that he will be crowned Impact World Champion since the champion isn't showing up to work. Moose shows up and says it is a shame that he is facing Tessa and not him. Austin says "It's a good looking belt," and leaves, then Hernandez says they can go at it next week instead of Slammiversary. Moose backs away.

Backstage, Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz celebrate Tasha's victory, then run into Havok and Neveah. Kiera says they're just celebrating, and Havok says they can't blame them for being scared. Neveah challenges them to a tag team match, but they say "not tonight."

The Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week is a Mike Bennett promo from May 17, 2016.

Backstage, Rohit Raju confronts Rhino, saying he should be treating him like a tag team partner. Rhino says he's already got one who's got kids, then said he taught him a lesson due to his constant complaining. Raju attacks Rhino, but Rhino fights back.

Backstage, Taya Valkyrie looks for John E. Bravo.

Willie Mack and Cousin Jake beat Johnny Swinger and Chris Bey. After the match, Bey and Swinger attack Mack and Jake, then Cody Deaner shows up from his quarantine from the middle of nowhere and overpowers them. Afterwards, Cody is overjoyed to see Jake.

At the bar, John E. Bravo is with Rosemary when Taya Valkyrie shows up wanting to know where John E. Bravo has been. Rosemary says he has been keeping her company, then after Taya gives her a gift, Rosemary says she has one for her in return.

Scott D'Amore is in the ring. He says that Impact has not delivered when it comes to the Impact World Championship, and while Ace Austin won the finals, Tessa Blanchard is still not in the building. Suddenly, Austin shows up. Austin announces that he is the new Impact World Champion, then Michael Elgin shows up and says the match he should have won did not happen. He says that Austin will have to deal with him to lay claim on the World title. Elgin then gives Austin two choices: get out of the ring or fight him. He then says that everyone who fights him cannot handle him, then Eddie Edwards shows up for the first time in weeks. Eddie says he is not afraid of Elgin and that he has beaten him before, and that asking for a championship one has not rightfully earned is not what Impact Wrestling is about. Austin insists that Scott D'Amore was going to crown him the Impact World Championship, but D'Amore tells him he has to fight to become a champion and that at Slammiversary, all three men will earn the right to be champion when Tessa defends in a five-way match. When Austin confronts D'Amore about the match being a five-way, D'Amore tells him to turn around. Austin gets nailed with a springboard drop kick from Trey Miguel, and this starts a brawl.

Backstage, Gia Miller tries to interview Deonna Purrazzo, but finds out that she is not in her dressing room.

#CancelCulture (Rob Van Dam, Katie Forbes, Joseph P. Ryan, Jake Crist) shows up. Joseph P. Ryan introduces the world to "Jacob Crist," whom he says is a new man who is now for everyone instead of versus everything and that he is now "your biggest advocate" to make Impact the greatest safe space it can and should be. Because of this, Crist will teach "Mentally Unwell Steven" a lesson that words can hurt and that words that hurt will get someone hurt.

Jacob Crist beats Crazzy Steve following the distraction from Joseph P. Ryan.

Next week: Rohit Raju vs. Rhino! Hernandez vs. Moose for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship! Eddie Edwards vs. Ace Austin in a Street Fight! The North ("All Ego" Ethan Page and "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander) vs. The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz) for the Impact World Tag Team Championships!

Jordynne Grace retains the Impact Knockouts Championship against Taya Valkyrie with a sleeper hold while Rosemary and John E. Bravo are off to the side. After the match, Deonna Purrazzo shows up and offers her hand only to put Jordynne Grace in an arm bar.
