Raw Deal - Raw recap for April 24, 2017

Chris Jericho shows up to start the show and host The Highlight Reel. He says this is the last time he will host the segment on Raw, as he will beat Kevin Owens for the United States title and move over to SmackDown Live. Since this is the last one on Raw, he needs a striking, charismatic guest, and that guest is him. He says that for "The Face of America," Owens is an ugly face, and says he's more like "the hemorrhoid of America." Suddenly, The Miz and Maryse show up, and Miz says that Raw is no longer Jericho and hasn't been since he and Maryse arrived. He goes on to announce that Raw is all about them, and Jericho tells Miz to watch...it. Miz then announces that The Highlight Reel has officially been cancelled and replaced with Miz TV. The set is very quickly changed, and before Miz TV can formally start, it is interrupted by Dean Ambrose. Ambrose says he agrees with Jericho that The Miz is a stupid idiot. Miz says he never said that, but Jericho says he was thinking it, though. He then changes Miz TV into The Ambrose Asylum, with Jericho, Miz and Maryse as special guests. Ambrose tells Jericho he is rooting for him at Payback, even though they have a checkered past and did terrible things to each other. Jericho reminds Ambrose he still owes hims $15,000 for tearing up his light-up jacket, but Ambrose gives him a gift in the form of a jacket with Christmas lights all over it. Before Jericho can try it on, Miz interrupts with "no, no, no," but the crowd chants "yes, yes, yes." Jericho puts it on anyway, despite Miz's objections, and says he should be the one showered with attention on Raw and given gifts for saving the brand from mediocrity. Ambrose gives Miz a gift: Dirty Deeds. Jericho then puts Maryse on The List for being married to The Miz, whom he finally calls a stupid idiot.

Matt Hardy beats Sheamus as Cesaro argues with Jeff Hardy after yanking him off the apron. After the match, Cesaro continues to chew Jeff out, but Sheamus stops him and extends his hand to Matt. After some hesitation, both teams shake hands and The Hardys have their hands raised.

General Manager Kurt Angle announces via telephone that Kalisto and Braun Strowman will be in a Dumpster Match, and that he will ask Kalisto one more time if he wants to go through this. An impatient Maryse and The Miz then vent their frustration with the beginning of the show to Angle, who puts Miz in a tag team match against Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho and tells Miz to find a partner. Maryse then says something to Angle in French (which translates to "You don't even know what you're doing!"), to which Angle counters with "Yeah? Well, right back at ya!"

"Gentleman" Jack Gallagher and Austin Aries beat TJ Perkins and Neville.

Before the next match, Braun Strowman says the crowd is nothing more than trash, and

General Manager Kurt Angle talks to Kalisto, who says he wants to go through with the Dumpster Match after being treated like garbage and that he is a man. If he can't fight for himself, he doesn't deserve to fight for anything.

Against all odds, Kalisto beats Braun Strowman in a Dumpster Match after kicking Strowman into the dumpster feet first after avoiding a gorilla press slam from the apron into the dumpster. After the match, Strowman takes his anger out on Kalisto, then finally puts him in the dumpster. He closes the lids, then drags the dumpster up the ramp, fastens the lids in place and pushes it off the side of the stage despite officials and referees telling him not to.

Kalisto is placed on a stretcher by medical personnel. He is taken to an ambulance and placed inside.

We see a video package covering what's been going on recently with Roman Reigns.

Bray Wyatt says some wounds never heal and continue to linger. He promises the worst for Randy Orton in his House of Horrors, and says it will be Orton's purgatory.

Charly Caruso interviews Samoa Joe, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, who take on Enzo Amore, Big Cass and Seth Rollins tonight. Joe says it's time to destroy and annihilate, as do Gallows and Anderson. Joe then says he will break Seth Rollins for what he did to Triple H, assuming he doesn't already do it tonight.

Enzo Amore and Big Cass are attacked from the crowd by Gallows and Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) before the next match can begin. Seth Rollins rushes in, and Samoa Joe is already there. The two of them brawl, but Enzo Amore is already laid out in front of the ring, and referees and officials have to check on him.

After the break, General Manager Kurt Angle replaces Enzo Amore in the next match with Finn Balor.

Finn Balor, Seth Rollins and Big Cass beat Samoa Joe and Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson). Seth Rollins replaces the Pedigree as his finisher with a high knee at the end of the match.

The Miz is seen talking to Sheamus and Cesaro backstage. Needless to say, he doesn't have much luck with either of them.

Alexa Bliss shows up. She sums up every promo that takes on Raw, then sums up Bayley's promos. She says she came to Raw to win, not to talk, and she will become Raw Women's Champion this Sunday. Bayley shows up, and admits Alexa wasted no time improving how good she is, but knows she's making fun of her. Bayley tells Alexa she's not just talk, and says she works her butt off and be where she is, and will continue to do so at Payback, which takes place in her own hometown. Alexa says she will humiliate her in front of her own father before calling "a pathetic, sheltered child." She goes so far as to ask if Bayley has ever kissed a boy before saying she will take the Raw Women's title. Sasha Banks shows up. Alexa makes fun of the friendship between Sasha and Bayley, then Sasha says Bayley will shut her up on Sunday. In the meantime, she'll shut her up right now. Alexa says that's not happening, as she's getting the match cancelled by Kurt Angle and Sasha is unhinged. Sasha Banks stops her and smacks her in the face.

Bayley guests on commentary for the next match.

Sasha Banks beats Alexa Bliss after Alexa walks out on the match. After the match, Bayley tries to toss Alexa back in the ring, but Alexa escapes. As Bayley turns her back, however, Alexa Bliss returns and attacks Bayley until Sasha Banks chases her to the back for good.

Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho talk in the locker room. Ambrose asks Jericho to take him off The List, but Jericho says nobody gets taken off The List and that he still owes him $15,000 for tearing his jacket up. Jericho takes him off The List for making him a peace offering before their match, but when Ambrose likens himself and Jericho to other famous tag teams, he puts him back on it after he leaves.

Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs. Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) will face off on the Payback kick-off. Also on the kick-off, The Miz and Maryse will host Miz TV with special guest Finn Balor.

Charly Caruso interviews Heath Slater and Curtis Axel, who are soon interviewed by The Miz and Maryse. Miz wants both men to be his tag team partner, but Heath says he has Rhyno and Axel doesn't seem interested. Rhyno offers Maryse some crackers, but she bats them away. Someone then hands a note to Miz, and the note reads that somebody wants to tag with him.

Curt Hawkins is in the ring, and issues another open challenge to anyone who wants to enter "Curt Hawkins' Star Factory." Apollo Crews answers.

Apollo Crews beats Curt Hawkins. After the match, Titus O'Neil raises his hand and takes a selfie with him.

"Gentleman" Jack Gallagher takes on Neville tomorrow night on 205 Live!

The Miz introdues his tag team partner for the next match, but that person doesn't show up. Miz says the match will have to be postponed, and as he leaves, General Manager Kurt Angle shows up and tells him he's got a match and that it's happening right now.

Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho vs. The Miz ends with Bray Wyatt suddenly appearing and attacking Ambrose. Jericho goes after Wyatt, but Miz attacks him. Miz and Wyatt then bring Jericho back to the ring. Jericho hits Miz with a Codebreaker, and Wyatt hits with Sister Abigail. Miz celebrates, but Bray hits him with Sister Abigail to end the show.
