Mustafa Ali beats The Brian Kendrick after the bell rings before Ali can reach the bottom rope. It is revealed that Akira Tozawa, disguised as a ring worker, is the one who rang the bell. Mustafa Ali is able to hit the inverted 450 splash for the win. After the match, Tozawa teaches Kendrick his second lesson: "Appearances can be deceiving." Drew Gulak is seen talking on the phone while watching the match from backstage.

Dasha Fuentes interviews TJ Perkins. As Perkins says he is a victim in the Cruiserweight Division, "Gentleman" Jack Gallagher shows up and demands Perkins take a more gentlemanly approach in their match, which he has requested. Perkins doesn't listen to him, saying he doesn't want any more bad luck.

Rich Swann beats Johnny Ocean. After the match, Rich Swann is about to reveal why he sent Alicia Fox gifts and let Noam Dar take the credit when Noam Dar shows up. Noam Dar says Rich Swann is a liar and that he gave Alicia the gifts, and Alicia Fox shows up, believing Noam Dar. She says she knows Rich Swann have been looking at her, and soon after this, another courier shows up with a gift. Noam tells Alicia the gift comes from him, then tells Swann to leave. As Swann leaves, Noam Dar gives Alicia the gift, and when Alicia opens it up, she is sprayed with powder, much to the satisfaction of Swann and much to the regret of Noam Dar.

Dasha Fuentes interviews Austin Aries, who says Perkins blames everyone but himself for his lack of recent success. He says Perkins shows a real lack of judgement, and that Neville wants a puppet, not a friend. Aries says he is a puppet master, and says Neville is using Perkins to stop his comeback at Payback.

TJ Perkins beats "Gentleman" Jack Gallagher.
