Tribute To The Troops 2016 - The Results

Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon welcome everyone to the show. Tonight, they will put aside their brand-related differences to put on a show for the American armed forces who protect and serve the country and give their support and gratitude for doing so. We then see a brief summary of how Tribute To The Troops started as well as its history.

Lillian Garcia sings the United States national anthem.

Roman Reigns shows up, saying that he is proud to be the WWE United States Championship. He says that the fans and the armed forces are the real champions of the United States, and thanks them on behalf of himself, the Superstars, the numerous crews that make the show possible and the WWE. Kevin Owens shows up and admits that Reigns made a classy move in thanking everyone, but tells him he forgot to thank him. He feels everyone should be thanking him tonight for carrying Raw on his back every week and being the longest-reigning WWE Universal Champion in history. Roman tells Owens that it's not about him and that it's about the people who make America great, but Owens doesn't care as he is from Canada before saying it's always about him as he is Universal Champion. Reigns says he won't be Universal Champion for long, and Owens counters by telling him that he has no chance and that he should be lucky the United States title isn't on the line, as he would win it, slap a maple leaf on it, and call it the Canadian Championship, which would - in his words - "sound a hundred times better." Roman asks why they should wait, and decides that they might as well go at it right now in front of America's finest. Suddenly, Rusev and Lana show up, and Rusev says that being from America is worse than being from Canada before talking about his home country of Bulgaria, which he claims has much better traditions, culture and people than America, and about his wife Lana. Roman asks if an American soldier can show up and teach Rusev how to kiss like a real man. Lana mocks the United States, and says Roman is jealous that Rusev is the only man for her. Roman says that sucks for Rusev, but Rusev says he's the greatest man on the planet before threatening to crush Roman like he did Enzo Amore. Roman says he's not going anywhere, and if he wants to do anything about it, he and Kevin Owens can both get in the ring. Owens and Rusev approach the ring and are about to ring when Big Cass runs in, causing Owens and Rusev to step back only to run into Raw General Manager Mick Foley, who arrives and makes this tag team match official.

Sheamus and Cesaro beat Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson), The Golden Truth (Goldust and R-Truth) and The Shining Stars (Primo and Epico) to become #1 contenders to the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships at Roadblock: End Of The Line.

We see the WWE Superstars spend some time with the American armed forces.

The Miz and Maryse are in the ring. The Miz tells the American armed forces that he can't tell them how happy he is to be an inspiration to them in the third and fourth The Marine films, and plugs the fifth one. He then issues an open challenge, which is very immediately answered by...comedian Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias, whom Miz says is out of his element. Fluffy tells Miz he's not the one in the ring in glittery underwear, and that the only thing Miz is inspiring is for someone to give him an awesome beating. He then says he has the man to do it: Apollo Crews.

Apollo Crews beats The Miz. During the match, Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias distracts The Miz by getting a selfie with Maryse and two with The Miz, allowing Crews to get the win. After the match, The Miz says this was not a championship match, and that he is still WWE Intercontinental Champion. We seen see the three mid-match selfies as well as the one that Fluffy took with Crews after the win.

The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Randy Orton) beat Dolph Ziggler and American Alpha (Jason Jordan and Chad Gable).

Bayley spends some time with a service dog named Charlotte when Charlotte and Dana Brooke show up and make fun of the dog. Bayley says that she and Charlotte don't have much in common except for hanging out with dogs, with the "dogs" aimed towards Dana. Dana tells Bayley to get ready for their match, where she will find out her bite is worse than her bark.

Sgt. Whitney Sargent of the United States Air Force and 1st Sgt. Jimmy Richard of the United States Marine Corps, as well as their sons, are the recipients of tonight's Outback Steakhouse Seat Upgrade. Also, Charlie the service dog is at ringside with his handler.

Bayley beats Dana Brooke, then celebrates with Charlie the service dog after the match.

TJ Perkins, "The Outlandish" Rich Swann and "The Extraordinary Gentleman" Jack Gallagher beat Brian Kendrick, Drew Gulak and Tony Nese.

We see footage of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at a wreathe-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) are backstage. They know that Sheamus and Cesaro are on the same page and getting along now, and Kofi says that he feels different since they became the longest-reigning tag team champions of all time in WWE. Big E says he feels a power flowing through his veins - the power of history. He feels The New Day just might become the most elite team of all time. AJ Styles shows up with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, saying that The Club exemplifies greatness while being mean and making green around the world, and that the conversation starts and ends with them. All of a sudden, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns shows up side-by-side in a one-time reunion of The Shield, laughing at The Club's claims before they walk off.

Enzo Amore makes his first appearance since being attacked Rusev two weeks ago, accompanying Big Cass to the ring with tape around his ribs. Big Cass says he and Roman Reigns will beat Kevin Owens and Rusev red, white, black and blue for the American armed forces.

Despite Lana sending Enzo Amore into the steel steps to distract Big Cass and nearly cost him and Roman Reigns the match, Roman Reigns and Big Cass beat Kevin Owens and Rusev.

After the show goes off the air, Roman Reigns thanks the fans and the American armed forces for the support, and expresses his gratitude for being able to do what he does and also meet some real-life heroes.
