Raw Deal - Raw recap for December 26, 2016

The Shining Stars (Primo and Epico) propose some timeshares for Bob Backlund, but when they say that Bob Backlund is retired, Backlund goes off and both Bo Dallas and Darren Young have to hold him back.

Commissioner Stephanie McMahon shows up to start tonight's show. She announces that General Manager Mick Foley has had a busy Christmas and has been given the night off. After Stephanie burns the crowd for their CM Punk chant by saying that they would last a second longer than CM Punk did if they kept their chant up for two minutes and fifteen seconds, Seth Rollins shows up. After Seth asks if Stephanie gave her husband Triple H his manhood back, and when Seth says that Stephanie has Triple H all tied up at the office, Stephanie says Triple H is more of a champion than Seth will ever be. Rollins then asks for a match with Braun Strowman after what happened in last week's main event after saying he came to Chicago, Illinois looking for a fight. Roman Reigns shows up, saying Strowman made a big mistake last week, and wants a match. Seth says he asked for the match first, and tells Reigns to step aside. Roman says he'll just go to the back and find him, and Seth decides to join him anyway. Stephanie McMahon gets over-excited and says that SmackDown is happening in the same building as Raw, and asks if the crowd wants to see Dean Ambrose be part of the fun so The Shield can reunite. Stephanie says that's not happening, but gives Seth his match against Braun Strowman and Roman a match against an opponent of Stephanie's choosing. She then kicks off the show with a tag team title rematch between The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) and the team of Sheamus and Cesaro.

Sheamus and Cesaro retain the WWE Raw tag team championships against The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods).

We see a video package of Brock Lesnar concerning his spot being confirmed in the Royal Rumble match. It is then announced that Goldberg returns to Raw next week.

Braun Strowman runs into Jeri-KO (Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens) backstage, and Jeri-KO approve of his running roughshod last week. Owens knows that Strowman is looking for competition, and he gives Strowman a shot at the WWE Universal Championship after he beats Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble. Jeri-KO also tells them Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns have said things about them tonight, while also embellishing the truth a bit.

The Golden Truth (Goldust and R-Truth) meet Bayley backstage. Truth gets a hug, while Goldust gets a hug as well as a Dusty Rhodes bear. After Bayley leaves, Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson) show up and make fun of them before ripping the head off the Dusty bear.

Charly Caruso interviews Scarlett Bordeaux, who is wearing a Sasha Banks T-shirt and says she's taking Nia Jax on for Sasha, whom she calls an inspiration.

Nia Jax quickly beats Scarlett Bordeaux, then tells her to choose a better role model next time before hitting her with a leg drop.

After Commissioner Stephanie McMahon shakes hands with Charlotte, Jeri-KO (Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens) show up and complain about the Royal Rumble match between Owens and Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship with Chris Jericho in a shark cage as they make a formal complaint against General Manager Mick Foley. Stephanie puts Roman Reigns in a match against Owens tonight with the WWE United States Championship on the line.

Bayley shows up. She celebrates having beaten Charlotte for the third time in a row, and says it's time for her to win the Raw Women's title. Charlotte shows up, and says that her right shoulder left the mat before the three count last week. She has talked to her lawyers and Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, and announces that Bayley's victory last week has been expunged from the record books as she brags that she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and how she knows how the system works as well as how to make it work for her. She then decides to give Bayley a second chance by having a match right now, then Charlotte says she got a ref that would call the match down the middle as part of the settlement between her, her lawyers and Commissioner Stephanie McMahon. That referee is Dana Brooke.

Charlotte beats Bayley. Dana Brooke is the guest referee, but she falls to a Bayley-to-Belly early and is replaced by another official. Bayley nearly has the match won when a recovered Dana Brooke drags the referee out of the ring, causing Bayley to chase after her and force her into a corner, allowing Charlotte to win via a schoolgirl pin with her foot on the ropes as Dana Brooke does a fast count.

Commissioner Stephanie McMahon finds Braun Strowman raising hell backstage, looking for Sami Zayn. Stephanie McMahon says he can't find Sami, but guarantees him a match against him next week. Braun Strowman tells Stephanie he will bust up Sami Zayn really badly next week, and wants it to be a Last Man Standing match. Stephanie agrees, and tells Strowman to show what he's going to do next week by pretending that Seth Rollins is Sami Zayn in his match against Rollins tonight.

Neville beats TJ Perkins by grabbing the tights after reversing the knee bar. Charly Caruso interviews Neville after the match, and Neville says that after you leave a trail of bodies in your bath, everyone walks to talk to you. He says that Americans only talk about him when they insult his accent or his personality, and tells the American wrestling fans that their ignorance and arrogance is keeping them from respecting him. He says that he is true king of the Cruiserweight Division.

Big Cass is seen pushing Enzo Amore in a wheelchair backstage.

Enzo Amore - now in a wheelchair - and Big Cass show up. Enzo calls Rusev a coward for the beating he gave him last week, and if Rusev is looking for him, he's not too hard to find. Big Cass dares Rusev to trap him alone in a room and see how well he does, and calls Rusev a coward while saying that he would slap the taste out of his mouth and that if he has a problem with Enzo, he has a problem with him. He then calls Rusev out, and Rusev shows up along with Jinder Mahal. Jinder slaps Enzo, and Enzo jumps out of the wheelchair and yanks Jiner off the apron. Cass tosses Rusev out of the ring, then Enzo kicks Jinder into the wheelchair and he and Cass hit Jinder with Badaboomshakalaka. Cass then gets back in the ring and hits Rusev with a big boot.

Bo Dallas and Darren Young vs. The Shining Stars (Primo and Epico) comes to a quick end thanks to Braun Strowman.

Seth Rollins vs. Braun Strowman ends with Sami Zayn showing up and attacking Strowman before Strowman chases him into the crowd. After this, Chris Jericho slides into the ring and hits Seth Rollins with a Codebreaker not once, but twice as referees tell Jericho to get out of the ring.

Charly Caruso interviews Kevin Owens backstage. Chris Jericho shows up, and it becomes apparent that he and Owens have Roman Reigns where they want him.

Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) beat The Golden Truth (Goldust and R-Truth) after Anderson grabs the tights during a schoolboy pin on Goldust.

Rich Swann beats Ariya Daivari. Charly Caruso interviews Swann after the match, who calls Neville a royal sourpuss but admits that he is one of WWE's best athletes. If Neville wants a fight, he's got it. He is then attacked from behind by none other than Neville.

Charly Caruso interviews Ariya Daivari shows up and challenges him to a duel for calling him a scoundrel. He slaps Daivari in the face with a glove and then leaves.

We see a video package of Goldberg concerning his confirmed spot in the Royal Rumble match.
