Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 19, 2016

On the pre-show, Jerry "The King" Lawler announces that TJ Perkins will be debuting on the main roster tonight, and that his new restaurant on Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee will have its grand opening tonight.

TJ Perkins is interviewed via Skype on the pre-show. He calls his debut on Raw a dream come true as he has been watching the WWE stage since he was a little kid. He goes with Negro Casas over Antonio Inoki when Lita asks him who he thinks is better. Perkins says that he looks most forward to taking on Gran Metalik in a re-match, and he also hopes to go at it with Cedric Alexander, Noam Dar, Jack Gallagher and Akira Tozawa. He says he is willing to go far to keep the WWE Cruiserweight Championship around his waist.

Dana Brooke talks to Charlotte about the results of last week's #1 contendership, where both Bayley and Sasha Banks' shoulders were both seemingly on the mat, as well as their tag match against Sasha and Bayley tonight. Charlotte says she'll do it herself when Dana Brooke says she plans to bring this up to Mick Foley.

It is announced that Chris Jericho will host The Highlight Reel with a mystery guest.

Chris Jericho shows up while Jerry "The King" Lawler is talking. He says that Mick Foley has done nothing but screw him and Kevin Owens over, and that he plans to get him ousted as Raw General Manager.

Toman Reigns shows up to start tonight's show. Commissioner Stephanie McMahon shows up before Roman can even speak, and Stephanie doesn't seem to say much before General Manager Mick Foley appears as well. Foley says he will be putting Rusev in a match against Seth Rollins, and that he will face Rusev for the United States title at Clash of Champions. Roman wants to know what's in it for him, especially since Triple H screwed him out of the Universal title. Foley says that he wants to be taken at word, and that if Raw does not win the ratings war, he's out of a job even though Stephanie McMahon can always get back on his feet, and if it weren't for Stephanie, he wouldn't be here. He knows he has to set things right, and he plans on doing that by signing Roman to a rematch against Kevin Owens tonight. Kevin Owens shows up and says he's beaten Roman twice and that he shouldn't have to wrestle him anymore, but Foley and Stephanie tell him that he has to do the rematch, that it is a non-title match and that the match will take place in a steel cage. Seth Rollins then shows up for his match.

As Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and General Manager Mick Foley argue backstage, an angry Rusev confronts Mick Foley for making him defend the United States title against Roman Reigns at Clash of Champions. Rusev says he doesn't care what Foley wants, and says that Foley is jealous of his family. Foley then gets a phone call from Chris Jericho.

Seth Rollins vs. Rusev ends in a double count-out. Rusev almost powerbombs Rollins onto the commentary table, but Rollins knocks him off the stage and then hits a cross body on Rusev from the table.

Charlotte and Dana Brooke bring their case to Mick Foley, saying that Bayley and Sasha Banks both had their shoulders down on the mat. Foley rectifies it by putting Charlotte against both Bayley and Sasha with the Raw Women's title on the line at Clash of Champions, and thanks Dana. Charlotte shoves Dana to the floor.

Seth tells Stephanie that she's starting to crack, and that the cracking started when her brother Shane McMahon returned.

Some of things that Jericho doesn't like, not surprisingly, goes into insider terms.

Then, The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xaier Woods) show up and say they're out here because they have nothing better to do other than plug UpUpDownDown, plus Woods is giving out two brand-new iPhone 7's before saying they will continue to be Raw tag champs. Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) then show up, saying that they will beat them for the tag titles before mocking them once again. Jericho says he is now starting a new list, and everyone in the ring is in it. As he starts the list, Sami Zayn shows up and brawls with Jericho, which in turn starts a brawl between everyone in the ring.
