Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 26, 2016

On the pre-show, we see footage of Tom Phillips interviewing Stephanie McMahon...who is greeted by Triple H in a limousine.

Referee John Cone, on the subject of Cesaro vs. Sheamus at Clash of Champions, says that he gave as much leeway as possible, but when both men could not continue as per the medical team, he had no choice but to make the decision to call the match. Roman Reigns shows up to start tonight's show.

Rusev vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE United States Championship ends in a double count-out when both men fight in the crowd. Both men continue to fight after the match, and Roman Reigns lays Rusev out with the Spear after Rusev tries to hit him with a steel chair. He then sits in the chair and lifts up the US title in victory. When Rusev gets back up, Roman smashes the chair into his back.

General Manager Mick Foley is in the ring. He addresses Match #7 of Sheamus and Cesaro's best of seven series, and brings out both men. Sheamus tells Foley this shouldn't even be a discussion. as he is the more physically dominant person and Foley said that the more physically dominant person would get an opportunity. Cesaro says he was ready to fight when Sheamus was doing the "walk of shame." Foley stops them as they scream over each other, saying that both men have proven themselves and that they will both get a championship opportunity...but they have to share it as it is for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships. Both men are incensed, and Foley tells them they don't have to like it. They will, however, get their opportunity against the winners of the next match.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E) retain the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships against Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson). Kofi Kingston gets busted open during the match and has to be tended to by medical staff after the match.

The footage of Stephanie McMahon meeting Triple H in a limo is shown again during the main show.

It is announced that Seth Rollins has suffered damage to his ribs and is not medically cleared to compete tonight.

Sheamus and Cesaro are arguing backstage when Commissioner Mick Foley shows up and tells both men he is not messing with them, saying that they proved that they could steal the show with the seventh match and if he were to put them in one more match, he could lose one of them for good. He tells both men that they have proved everyone wrong and that they proved him right. He has decided to put them together because he knows they can change the face of tag team wrestling and knows that they can create magic together.

Bayley beats Anna Fields. Tom Phillips interviews Bayley after the match. Bayley says Charlotte and Sasha Banks haven't seen the last of her, and she's just getting started. She won't stop until she is hugging the Raw Women's Championship.

General Manager Mick Foley meets up with Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, and says he thinks Stephanie is still hiding something after last night's main event. Stephanie blames Mick Foley for not protecting the integrity of the match, and says she hired him to be a businessman and tells him to use his head, not his heart. Foley admits he was out of line. Stephanie tells him to prove he can be General Manager by thinking like a businessman.

Rich Swann and Cedric Alexander beat Lince Dorado and Drew Gulak.

Cesaro and Sheamus beat Nick Cutler and Willis Williams despite not getting along and trying to one-up each other.

Tom Phillips interviews TJ Perkins. Brian Kendrick shows up and says that he is responsible for his career reaching this point, and that Perkins owes him the Cruiserweight title because of it. He tells him to enjoy his reign now, for when they meet again, he will wake him up from his dream.

Charlotte and Dana Brooke show up. Charlotte brags that last night was once again her night. She says that unlike Bayley and Sasha Banks, she can walk the walk and talk the talk. Charlotte says she has beaten everyone who is called the one to unseat her to the disappointment of her critics, and as she states that nobody will beat her, Sasha Banks shows up and says that while last night was her night, she's still wearing her title. She also says that Charlotte pinned Bayley last night and not her, and she demands her Women's title rematch. Charlotte tells Sasha she's just that little bit better than her, but gives her the title rematch anyway...next week, so she won't "cry to Mick Foley." As Charlotte continues to speak, Sasha tells Charlotte she's taking the title back before walloping both Charlotte and Dana Brooke.

Seth Rollins is backstage despite not being medically cleared...

Seth Rollins runs into Mick Foley backstage. He tells him there is nothing stopping him from wrecking The Highlight Reel. Foley tells him now is not the time, but Seth says "Screw the rules." He tells Foley he sees his lips moving, but all he hears is Stephanie McMahon's words coming out of his mouth.

It is announced that TJ Perkins will be defending the WWE Cruiserweight Championship against Brian Kendrick next week.

TJ Perkins beats Tony Nese.

WWE and NBC Universo celebrate Pedro Morales, the first ever WWE Grand Slam winner.

It's time for The Highlight Reel. Before the segment, Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson tell Chris Jericho they will be at Raw in Los Angeles, California next week. Tonight's special guest is Kevin Owens. Jericho tells Kutcher and Masterson they will be on the List of Jericho if they show up, and they won't like "it." After putting the cameraman in the ring on the List of Jericho, Jericho then brags about Owens injuring Seth Rollins before bringing him out. Jericho tells Owens he exemplified the epitomy of a champion last night. Owens says he proved he should have been Raw's #1 pick, that he is the main event and that he is the man last night after retaining the Universal title and injuring Seth Rollins, which he calls "karma" for calling himself "The Man" and injuring other such as Sting and Finn Balor, and says he is the most dangerous man in WWE and not Rollins. Rolins shows up, but security shows up to stop him with Mick Foley not far behind. Rollins is forced to the back as Kevin Owens mocks him. Suddenly, Enzo Amore and Big Cass appear, and Jericho puts them both on the List of Jericho. After Jericho threatens to sit on Big Cass' lap after saying he might be Santa Claus after some wordplay from Enzo (and an interesting argument), Kevin Owens threatens to punch them in the face. Jericho says they don't have a match anyway, but Cass announces that he and Enzo just passed Mick Foley and they do have a match against each other after all.

Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens beat Enzo Amore and Big Cass.
