Extreme Nation - ECW on TNN recap for September 3, 1999

Tazz retains the ECW World Heavyweight Championship against Tajiri with the Tazmission aka the Katahajime. (At this point, we see non-archived matches in a small arena readied for a TV taping with a few "ECW on TNN" banners located throughout.)

Joey Styles is in the center of a ring, and he welcomes everyone to the show. Styles announced that ECW is making wrestling history tonight, then he is suddenly interrupted by "The Quintessential Studmuffin" Joel Gertner, who announces that he is the until-now unnamed color commentator for the show and the self-professed true star of the show. Joey Styles then brings out Jerry Lynn, who says he didn't come here to waste anybody's time by cutting a boring promo like they do on Monday nights, and says TNN is in the house and that ECW will continue to show everyone the difference between WWF, WCW and ECW. Tonight, he wants to bring the people the best match in wrestling today, and calls out Rob Van Dam so he can beat him for the ECW World Television Championship. Bill Alfonso shows up and gives Jerry Lynn some credit for starting the show with some big ratings and says he may have proved himself at Hardcore Heaven, but tells him he will not get another shot at the title and at RVD. Alfonso slaps Jerry Lynn, who pins Alfonso in the corner until RVD runs in and goes after Lynn. Referees and officials have to pull both men apart.

The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray, D-Von and Sign Guy Dudley) show up in what is their final night in Extreme Championship Wrestling. "The Quintessential Studmuffin" Joel Gertner announces that Jerry Lynn vs. Rob Van Dam for the ECW World Television Championship will be the main event for next week's show.

The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) beat Balls Mahoney and Little Spike Dudley to win the ECW World Tag Team Championships for the eighth and last time after powerbombing Balls Mahoney through a table with thumbtacks sprinkled on top of it and putting Little Spike Dudley in the Dudley Death Drop.

The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray, D-Von and Sign Guy Dudley) show up again. Buh Buh Ray says that in ECW, boys become men and men become heroes, but in the World Wrestling Federation, heroes become legends, and legends become gods. He then says if God was a heel, he would be The Dudley Boyz. Before they take the belts and jump on I-95 to the true city of hardcore wrestling, Stanford, Connecticut- and call the crowd "typical, disrespectful white trash from Queens" - there is one more thing that they have to do. Now that they have beaten ECW, they are going to ruin ECW and suck the life, the blood, the soul, the guts, and the backbone of ECW right out. They plan to do something they should have done and finished a long time ago. The crowd chants for Sabu, and Buh Buh Ray tells the crowd to chant whatever name they want as whoever gets in this ring will get jacket up, hit with the Dudley Death Drop and taken out of professional wrestling for good. He says that if "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer has one little hair on his "that big fat ass of [his]," then he should get his "broken, back, useless piece of dog trash ass" out here and defend "this miserable six-year-old company that [he] broke [his] stinkin' back for." Dreamer shows up, and Paul E. Dangerously himself has to hold him back. Buh Buh Ray continue to sing the praises of WWF as Francine tells Dreamer to go to the back. Buh Buh Ray says "another two-dollar whore happened to show up." He then says he and D-Von will take the ECW tag titles to WWF and throw them down on national television. As this goes on, we see archived footage of Tommy Dreamer that introduces him to a new audience. Buh Buh Ray asks Dreamer if he remembers Beulah McGillicutty, and says that when she was laying in a hospital bed, he and D-Von used to sneak in and "teach her the meaning of the real double team." He then says that Dreamer turned his back on Beulah, and picked up the next "ring rat" that came his way. Dreamer runs into the ring but falls victim to the numbers game, but suddenly fights back.

"The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer beats The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) to win the ECW World Tag Team Championships. During the match, officials and other wrestler surround the ring, wanting The Dudley Boyz to stop what they are doing to Dreamer. Even Sign Guy Dudley tells them to stop, but just gets shoved into the corner by Buh Buh Ray. All of a sudden, Raven - who is now gone from World Championship Wrestling - makes a shocking return after the Dudleys hit the Dudley Death Drop, running into the ring and hitting Buh Buh Ray with an Evenflow DDT for the pinfall and the win, making him and Dreamer the ECW World Tag Team Champions - Dreamer for the second time, Raven for the third. Dreamer does not even realize that Raven has helped him until he gets up, turns around and sees Raven handing him one of the tag team belts. Raven then leaves through - and celebrates in - the crowd to end the show.

After the show went off the air, The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) are given an emotional send-off.
