Extreme Nation - ECW on TNN recap for September 17, 1999

The show starts with footage of Raven and "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer hitting DDTs on both Rhino and Jack Victory simultaneously to retain the ECW World Tag Team Championships.

Cyrus announces that the ban on Sabu in the United States has been lifted, and that he will wrestle at Anarchy Rulz. Bill Alfonso says Justin Credible crossed the line when he got Sabu banned. He says payback is a bitch, and that it will be Justin Credible getting his ass kicked by Sabu on Sunday. He promises Justin Credible an ass beating from hell from the most suicidal, homicidal, genocidal , death-defying athlete in the business: Sabu.

Before the next match, P.N. News tells the crowd that Philadelphia, Pennsylvania sucks, saying that "if you come from Philadelphia, you must be gay" as he raps. Little Spike Dudley then shows up.

Little Spike Dudley quickly beats P.N. News with the Acid Drop.

It is announced than an ECW wrestler has been injured in a locker room incident, but not much else is known.

Super Crazy beats Tajiri.

We see Raven near a playground swing set. He says that for two-and-a-half years, he and "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer fought a battle of mystical proportions, a friendship based on love and a hatred based on friendship. Dreamer scarred his face and battered him unmercifully, and he took his girl. However, the one thing Dreamer could ever do was beat him, as he always pinned him. After he came to ECW to exorcise his demons two-and-a-half years ago, it was time for Dreamer to graduate, so he gave him his victory. In that time, he stayed away from ECW, and with him gone, Dreamer's life lost it meaning, his career its purpose, and his relationship with Beulah McGillicutty lost its foundation. He says Dreamer lost his focus and lost the girl. He says Keyser Söze once said that the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he did not exist, and he tells Dreamer he exists and that he is going to be his own personal demon, as this savior has already been crucified for his sins.

Lance Storm and Dawn Marie show up for the next match. When it is announced that the next match is for the ECW World Television Championship, it is both revealed and confirmed simultaneously that Jerry Lynn is the wrestler in the ambulance and that he is being taken to the hospital.

Lance Storm vs. Rob Van Dam for the ECW World Television Championship ends in a no-contest. During the match, Justin Credible jumps in the ring, attacks the referee with a kendo stick, then attacks RVD. Jerry Lynn, who has medical bandages wrapped around his ribs, goes after Storm. Johnny Smith - who has recently returned from All Japan Pro Wrestling - shows up and attacks Lynn and RVD. "The Sexiest Man Alive" Jason gets in the ring, and it is revealed that Johnny Smith has aligned himself with The Impact Players, Dawn Marie and Jason, who all celebrate in the ring.

After the commercial break, Rob Van Dam is in the ring with Bill Alfonso. RVD tells Jerry Lynn to wait, and propose something, saying he feels like tonight's crowd: fucked. He says that when the crowd pays to see RVD, they know they get their money's worth. He says he didn't kick enough ass in three minutes, and asks Jerry Lynn to come in the ring so he can kick his ass some more. Jerry Lynn shows up, and the . Lynn says that after what they went through, he can barely stand up, but he can also barely stand not having the Television title around his waist.

Rob Van Dam retains the ECW World Television Championship against Jerry Lynn. At one point in the match, Jerry Lynn gets put through a table outside of the ring, and almost injures himself to the point that he cannot go as he complains about stitches opening up, and as everyone - including Rob Van Dam and Bill Alfonso - clap as Lynn heads to the stretcher, Lynn turns around and gets back in the ring for more. Both men shake hands after the match.
