Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for February 8, 1999

We see what happened after Nitro went off the air last week. WCW President "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair demands to know where Eric Bischoff is.

We see the phone conversation between "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, where David Flair is revealed to be okay and that he will be home first thing in the morning to figure out what Hollywood Hogan is up to.

We see a performance by The Nitro Girls. Diamond Dallas Page lies in wait in case Scott Steiner shows up.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) have a gift for Disco Inferno: "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, down on the floor. Nash and Hall leave after Disco wraps a belt around his fist.

We are at a bar. A woman walks towards the camera and says "I saw you with those guys over there. They are so cool...and you are so fine. I got a limo parked outside...let's go for a ride."

Rey Mysterio Jr. beats Blitzkrieg (whose name is misspelled as "Blitzcrieg") in the latter's Nitro and televised debut.

Kanyon heads back to Raven's mother's home - or one of them, anyway. Raven's mother tells Kanyon that she is concerned about Raven, and asks Kanyon to stay at the home and make sure he doesn't leave as she heads to a board meeting. Kanyon agrees. He meets with Raven, and tells him that a lot of people are worried about him. Raven looks into the camera and says "What a mark!" before chuckling, and tells Kanyon to follow him. Kanyon and Raven head into the garage, where a yellow luxury sports car is parked. Raven says that there is nothing to be depressed about, and when Kanyon asks why they drive around in a "piece of crap," Raven smiles at the camera and says "He don't get it." She says that the "piece of crap" drives his mom crazy. They then get into the sports car (which we learn is a Ferrari) and they drive off.

During the next match, Hollywood Hogan talks to Horace Hogan in the locker room, and asks him to lead the black-and-white nWo, saying that with the two of them in sync, nobody can stop them. He also asks him not to mention this to anybody.

Also during the next match, WCW President "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair makes Eric Bischoff - whose hair is now completely gray - the head custodian of WCW. He commands him to clean the locker room. He also tells head of WCW security Doug Dellinger to make sure Bischoff does not leave, or else Bischoff will be in breach of contract and he will be fired.

Booker T beats Fit Finlay.

Raven and Kanyon head to a bank. Raven signs a check and gets stacks of one-dollar bills worth $2,000 and $10,000 in big bills. Raven and Kanyon bag them up, then Raven says it's time for Kanyon to get a new look.

Eric Bischoff waits on Jimmy Hart to get out of a bathroom stall, and tells him to re-stock the toilet paper in the first stall as well as the paper towels. The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian) go in and stink up the bathroom so much that Bischoff has to walk away.

Hollywood Hogan talks with Brian Adams. Hollywood tells Brian Adams to take over the black-and-white nWo, even though he has made Horace Hogan the leader. Unlike Horace, however, he does not tell Brian Adams not to tell anyone about this. Hogan then continues to clean the World Heavyweight Championship, and says "I'm gonna make ["The Nature Boy" Ric] Flair eat this belt."

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews WCW President "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. He is here to tell it like it is, and the only thing he has yet to do in Buffalo, New York is ride a barrel over Niagara Falls. He puts The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) in a match against himself and Steve "Mongo" McMichaels tonight after what happened to "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, and says it will be a fight, win, lose or draw. As for Hollywood Hogan, he tells him he has two weeks to tell everyone he is "nWo World Heavyweight Champion," as at SuperBrawl IX, he will take him down with a little bit of help. He also tells Bret "The Hit Man" Hart and Scott Hall that Hall has no title shot, and that Hart doesn't have the guts to be part of the company and vacate the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship, as he has a surprise for him. Bret shows up, and Flair tells him he does not have the same deal as Hollywood Hogan does. He then mentions that Bret will defend the title at SuperBrawl IX against a mystery opponent, or else he will be forced to vacate the title tonight. Bret insists that he has a groin injury and that there are doctors who can prove it. Flair doesn't care, and either tells him to accept the match or vacate the title. He also puts Bret in a match tonight against none other than "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, much to the delight of the crowd and the surprise of the commentary team, who have no idea that Piper is here and due to the fact that Piper has not been seen in WCW in months. Bret briefly throws the belt down, then picks it back up and leaves, and tears up a sign that is being held by Will Sasso from MADtv, who is sitting in the front row.

The woman from the bar - and the cameraman - is in the limo. She asks the person on the other side of the camera to sit next to her, saying she won't bite...too much.

We see a video package for the tag team title tournament for SuperBrawl IX.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls. Diamond Dallas Page watches them from a monitor nearby from backstage.

Hollywood Hogan talks with Stevie Ray, and also tells him he is the new leader of the black-and-white nWo, unbeknownst to Brian Adams and Horace Hogan, who he has also made leader, and tells him to lead by example.

During the next match, the cruiserweight division is using the bathroom, and ask for lotion, much to the irritation of Eric Bischoff. They also fill the tip jar he pulls out with garbage.

Curt Hennig and Barry Windham beats Horace Hogan and Brian Adams to advance in the winner's bracket of the tag team title tournament. During the match, Vincent shows up with his hand on his back pocket, while Stevie Ray watches Vincent form a distance. When Vincent pulls out the slapjack, Stevie Ray gets on the apron and wrestles it away from him, and when he gets the slapjack away from him, he accidentally hits Brian Adams with it before Curt Hennig punches out Stevie Ray, falls down and gets his arm on top of Brian for the win. After the match, all four members of the black-and-white nWo argue with each other.

The woman from earlier gets in an elevator, and the person behind the camera follows her in.

We see a short video package documenting the events between Goldberg and Bam Bam Bigelow.

Hollywood Hogan speaks with Vincent, who makes Vincent leader of the black-and-white nWo, unbeknownst to Horace Hogan, Stevie Ray and Brian Adams.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Bam Bam Bigelow. Bigelow shows up with a large piece of paper in his hands. Bam Bam Bigelow says he has been infiltrating arenas and having security look out for him for the sole purpose of making Goldberg his. He says he has wrestled in bowling alleys and backyard arenas where Goldberg would not even step foot in, and says he is extreme and hardcore. He tells Goldberg to focus on SuperBrawl IX and get ready for him. We then see that the paper in his hands is an article from USA Today with the headline "Brawler is sickened by animal fights." We then find out it is an article about Goldberg and his stance against animal fighting, and says Goldberg should be focusing only on him and SuperBrawl IX, and says that Goldberg is going down that night. Bam Bam then reads from the article, where it states that Goldberg wants everyone in the WCW locker room to adopt an animal this year. Bam Bam Bigelow says he will take his wife, put a leash around her, walk her once or twice and feed her some Alpo. Goldberg shows up and runs into the ring, and this immediately starts a brawl between Goldberg and Bigelow. WCW head of security Doug Dellinger, arena security and local law enforcement have to pull both men apart.

We see an advertisement for WCW/nWo Bruise Cruise '99.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls. Diamond Dallas Page watches form backstage on a monitor again in case Scott Steiner shows up to harass Kimberly.

We see footage of Diamond Dallas Page with Rita Sever.

Diamond Dallas Page beats Kenny Kaos.

Raven and Kanyon head to a Versace department store at a nearby mall, and Raven buys him clothes.

Raven and Kanyon head back to Raven's home just before Raven's mom shows up. After Kanyon leaves, Mrs. Levy tells Raven that WCW called her during her board meeting and has asked him to come back to work. She asks if he will be okay, and says he will be okay. He then walks away, looks toward the camera and says "She's not too bright, isn't she?"

Before the next match, Ernest "The Cat" Miller is not only recognized as "The Greatest of All Time," but also as "The Greatest Looking Athlete Today" by ring announcer David Penzer. Once again, Miller mocks the crowd and says he can whup anybody, and tells everyone in the crowd that they need to recognize greatness. As The Cat speaks, we see Stevie Ray, Brian Adams, Horace Hogan and Vincent in the locker room. Adams, Stevie Ray and Horace tells Vincent that The Cat is personally calling him out (even though he is not). After Vincent leaves to head to the ring, Adams, Stevie Ray and Horace laugh. Vincent meets with Disco Inferno, and tells him that Ernest "The Cat" Miller is talking about his family, but Disco is not having any of it and tells him to handle The Cat himself. Vincent shows up, and he is pushed from behind by Sonny Onoo. When Vincent confronts Onoo, The Cat attacks him from behind.

Vincent beats Ernest "The Cat" Miller after sending Sonny Onoo into The Cat as The Cat goes up top.

Scott Steiner is seen harassing Kimberly as she is packing her bags. Diamond Dallas Page is nearby, and he immediately attacks Scott Steiner. Security holds both men back, but Scott Steiner slips away and gets in the car, where Kimberly is hiding away from him. Scott Steiner then drives away, then Scott Steiner swerves the car as if to run Diamond Dallas Page over when he tries to run after him. Kimberly falls out of the car, and Scott Steiner drives away. Kimberly is in need of medical attention, and DDP demands an ambulance.

After the commercial break, medical staff tend to Kimberly, who is placed on a board and helped into an ambulance.

"The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko is seen talking to Eric Bischoff when he steps into something and tells him to bleach the floor.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper beats Bret "The Hit Man" Hart to become the WCW United States Heavyweight Champion! During the match, Bret is choking Piper on the ropes when Piper hits him in the groin. Trainer Danny Young shows up to check on Bret along with referee Mickey Jay, but it turns out to be Bret playing possum once again. Also during the match, Bret drags Will Sasso out form the front row and proceeds to beat him up. Shortly after this, Piper has Bret in a sleeper when Bret backs Piper into referee Mickey Jay, sandwiching him in the corner. At this point, Will Sasso gets up and cheers for Piper, and also tries to revive referee Mickey Jay as Bret hits Piper with an illegal object. Bret tires to grab the referee, but Will Sasso grabs Mickey Jay by the leg. After a short game of tug-of-war, Sasso lets go of Mickey Jay, and Bret drags Mickey Jay towards the ring only to fall for a schoolboy pin by Roddy Piper, causing Hart to lose the title.

The woman that we have seen intermittently all night goes to a hotel room, and the person behind the camera follows her in. She then goes to the bathroom to change her clothes.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) vs. The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and Steve "Mongo" McMichael) ends in a no-contest. During the match, Eric Bischoff is seen giving a mop bucket to Hollywood Hogan, and we see that a couple of arena security guards have been laid out. Hogan takes the mop bucket and goes to the ring with it. Disco is seen holding Flair up, but Flair escapes and Hogan tosses whatever liquid is inside the bucket at the eyes of Mongo. Nash, Hall and Hogan then try to attack "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, but Flair hits Nash and Hall with low blows. Disco goes after Flair, but he gets hit with a low blow, too. Goldberg then runs into the ring and hits Disco with a Spear, then Bam Bam Bigelow runs in and attacks Goldberg only to be sent out of the ring. Referee Charles Robinson and Goldberg check on Flair to end the show.
