Raw Deal - Raw recap for December 7, 1998

RAW

D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Chyna, X Pac) show up. Interestingly, The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) are not with them. Triple H gets right down to business, and he and DX want to know where The New Age Outlaws stand, and if they have made a business decision, that is fine, but they could at least have the balls to say it to his face. The Outlaws then show up in suits and drink bottled water before announce that they are "The New Corporate Outlaws." They then introduce WWF Commissioner "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, who shows up. Shawn tells Triple H that if he wants to know who has "balls" around here, they can start with him. Shawn says he was the forefather for DX, and says that Triple H should apologize to him for gimmick infringement. Triple H tells Shawn he owes him nothing, but Shawn says he owes him for riding his coattails through his career and having him turn him from a nobody to a somebody. Triple H tells Shawn he was the one carrying "his dead ass" while he was carrying a championship he had no business carrying anymore, and when he was burnt at WrestleMania, he was the one to pick up the ball. Shawn tells Triple H he has carried balls he never had, and that he made him and can also break him. Triple H tells Shawn that the only thing broken down around here is Shawn's ego, and has two words to break it down with: suck it. Shawn tells Triple H he has something he can suck on, and puts Triple H and X-Pac in a tag team match against "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock and The Big Boss Man tonight, and in that match, anything goes, and if The New Age Outlaws get involved, so be it. Shawn and The New Age Outlaws then join WWF co-owners Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon, Gerald Brisco, Pat Patterson and Sgt. Slaughter on the stage, who welcome the Outlaws to the fold.

Backstage, "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley tells X-Pac they can handle "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock and The Big Boss Man, and asks Chyna to take care of The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) if they get involved.

D'Lo Brown beats Jeff Jarrett. During the match, WWF gives its condolences to Jim Ross and his family after Jim Ross' mother has passed away. Also during the match, Goldust shows up wearing nothing but a trenchcoat, and exposes himself to Debra McMichael and Jeff Jarrett, distracting Jarrett and giving D'Lo the win with a roll-up.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin is seen talking to someone backstage concerning his tag team match tonight.

WWF Attitude Cologne for Men and Eau De Toilette for Women are available for $19.99 each plus $4.99 shipping and handling.

We see footage of Vince McMahon speaking to the Oxford Society at Oxford University in London, England from this past Thursday.

The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) beat The Brood (Gangrel and Edge) by disqualification after Luna Vachon clotheslines Mosh. Tiger Ali Singh and Babu confront Luna, then the rest of The Oddities (Kurrgan, Golga, Giant Silva) rush in and attack The Headbangers, Singh and Babu.

Mankind is seen in the boiler room of the arena, talking to a steel chair.

WWF co-owners Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon are seen with The Rock backstage, talking to Paul Bearer. Paul Bearer guarantees that The Undertaker will function with The Rock as his tag team partner tonight.

Goldust beats Owen Hart. During the match, Jeff Jarrett and Debra McMichael show up, and Debra is only wearing a trenchcoat. Debra opens the trenchcoat to expose herself not only to Goldust, but also to Owen Hart, who is also distracted. Goldust gets the pinfall with a schoolboy pin.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Mankind are seen backstage in different parts of the building.

We see footage from earlier this week of WWF superstars taking in the sights of London, England before Capitol Carnage, as well as the event itself.

Before the next match, Val Venis gives The Godfather the microphone. The Godfather decides to do something he has never done before for the holiday season: offer one of his fine hos to someone in this audience. He picks a guy named Bob out of the audience, and gives him both hos for the entire night for free, as he is in a good mood.

The team of Val Venis and The Godfather and The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) wrestle to a double-count out. As The Jackyl watches from a distance, referees rush in to pull both teams apart.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin is seen backstage heading to the ring.

WAR ZONE

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up. For the last few months, WWF co-owner Vince McMahon has seen fit to throw everything he can at him, and he has somehow managed to scrap by. On Sunday, however, the stakes are higher than ever before. He says The Undertaker tried to sacrifice him, bury him and embalm him, but nothing worked, and on Sunday, The Undertaker can expect no mercy from him. Suddenly, The Undertaker makes his presence known. A huge Undertaker symbol is seen hanging from the ceiling, and The Undertaker is heard saying that he and Austin have both been on the highway to Hell, and their journey has enlightened them on a few mattes. The Undertaker tells Austin he is helpless against his ministry, and that he can take his rotting soul any time he wishes. Tonight, the journey stops in Austin's purgatory, where he will remain until Rock Bottom, when he will sacrifice him to the Ministry of Darkness and have the whole world watch him get buried alive and burn in Hell. Suddenly, lightning strikes the Undertaker symbol, and it catches fire.

Mankind is seen coming out of the boiler room, saying he will make "Stone Cold" Steve Austin his friend again as he carries around a garbage bag.

"The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman beats Tiger Ali Singh, then The Blue Blazer is seen running down to the ring only to trip. As Blackman beats up The Blue Blazer, Owen Hart shows up and attacks Blackman before putting him in the Dragon Sleeper until referees and officials have to pull him away.

Mankind is seen backstage again, carrying around a garbage bag and looking for "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin gets an article in the double-issue year-end edition of Rolling Stone.

"The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry beats Droz. During the match, Chyna shows up and watches the match from ringside, as her and Mark Henry's lawsuit has been settled. Suddenly, Chyna gets on the apron when Droz asks her to while Road Warrior Animal distracts the referee, but refuses to punch Henry when he tells her to do it, and punches Droz instead. Mark Henry then hits the splash and gets the win.

The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) are seen chatting with WWF Commissioner "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, The Big Boss Man and "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock backstage.

D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley and X-Pac) vs. the team of The Big Boss Man and "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock in an anything goes tag team match is thrown out. During the match, WWF Commissioner "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels shows up with The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn). Later on, Road Dogg distracts the referee, and Shawn Michaels tosses a steel chair into the ring. Billy Gunn convinces Shamrock to give him the chair, and when he does, Billy Gunn smacks Shamrock in the head with the chair before The New Age Outlaws attack Shamrock and The Big Boss Man, then take off the suits to reveal D-Generation X shirts underneath and tell them and Shawn to suck it. Billy Gunn then says he has two words for WWF co-owner Vince McMahon: suck it.

Mankind comes out of the doors of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's locker room.

D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Chyna, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) have a laugh about pulling the wool over WWF co-owner Vince McMahon and WWF Commissioner "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels backstage.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin enters his locker room to find a note from Mankind, a garbage bag...and a Coors light on him.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Mankind beat The Undertaker and The Rock by disqualification. During the match, The Big Boss Man and "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock show up and attack Mankind before handcuffing him in the corner. Meanwhile, Austin and The Undertaker continue to brawl in the crowd, and when the brawl is sent back to ringside, The Undertaker hits Austin in the head with the ring bell before hitting him in the head with a steel chair. The Undertaker then picks Austin up and takes him to the back under the command of Paul Bearer, as druids come down the ramp. Austin is tied to the a large Undertaker symbol, which is then raised up off the ramp. The Undertaker then says he has taken Austin mind, body and soul, and that the last thing left to do is to bury him alive.
