Feel The Heat - Sunday Night Heat recap for November 22, 1998

The Rock shows up along with WWF owner Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon, The Big Boss Man, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, Pat Patterson, Gerald Brisco and WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter to start tonight's show. Vince says he resents the fact that many of the fans have publicly stated that had it not been for The Undertaker last week on Raw, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin would have defeated The Rock for the WWF Championship. He says The Rock was "just warming up" and had not even broken "a corporate sweat," and to show just what kind of competitor The Rock is, The Rock has decided to defend the WWF Championship at the next pay-per-view, appropriately named Rock Bottom, against Mankind. Vince says The Rock is not backing up for anybody, and as far as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is concerned, there is "no chance in Hell" that Austin will ever again become the WWF Champion; however, The Undertaker gave him an idea when he almost decapitated Austin with the shovel last week. He announces that at January's Royal Rumble pay-per-view, he will be one of the 30 participants in the Royal Rumble, assuming he qualifies by beating The Undertaker in a Buried Alive Match. Vince then addresses the fans who claim he has too much power by announcing that Sgt. Slaughter has stepped aside as WWF Commissioner so that Vince can announce "an independent, free-thinking, new WWF Commissioner" for them.

Michael Cole gets some shocking news through his headset during the commercial break. After the break, he announces that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin suffered a blackout after his match earlier this afternoon in San Jose, California. Jim Ross says that updates will be forthcoming.

The Jackal guests on commentary for the next match and introduces The Acolytes - Faarooq and Bradshaw - who immediately lay out both Too Much ("Too Sexy" Brian Christopher and Scott "Too Hot" Taylor) and The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy), which reveals why Faarooq and Bradshaw are suddenly teaming together. Referees show up to try to keep them from doing any more damage.

Michael Cole and Jim Ross interview senior WWF official Jack Lanza via telephone, who says that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin had been suffering from dizziness and headaches all day long, and after his match this afternoon, he blacked out. He was taken to the medical center in San Jose and appears to be okay, but he is being examined right now.

Michael Cole and Grand Master Robbie host the Totally Twister Game Center, where George and Adam explain the rules of Pass It before Grand Master Robbie and Jerry "The King" Lawler play Pass It only for Lawler to leave Robbie high and dry.

Backstage, WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter, Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco tell WWF owner Vince McMahon that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin blacked out in San Jose, California. Instead of showing malicious glee about this, Vince shows concern.

Gangrel vs. Al Snow ends in a double disqualification after the match devolves into a brawl between The Brood (Gangrel, Edge, Christian) and The J.O.B. Squad (Al Snow, 2 Cold Scorpio, Bob Holly) that referees have to break up.

Backstage, Kevin Kelly interviews L.O.D. 2000 (Road Warrior Animal and Darren "Puke" Drozdov). Despite Road Warrior Hawk not being critically injured despite being pushed off the top of the TitanTron in what appears to be a suicide attempt, Droz says the old L.O.D. would dwell on the past, but the new L.O.D. 2000 - he and Animal - are shooting towards the future and ready to show every other team in the WWF that they can take control, throw them all in a blender, hit "puree," and turn them into "a chopped-up pile of fly-infested goo" in a Hawk-styled promo.

The Big Boss Man beats "Marvelous" Marc Mero after Jacqueline grabs Mero's leg, thinking she is grabbing The Big Boss Man's, allowing Boss Man to hit the Boss Man Slam for the win. After the match, Mero grabs the microphone and says she brought Jacqueline to take care of Sable, and from what he has seen, Sable has taken care of her. He says that Jacqueline is a thorn in a side, that this is the last match she will cost him, and to "say bye-bye to The Marvelous One."

Mankind is seen carrying a leaf blower on his way to the ring backstage.

Mankind shows up carrying a leaf blower. He says it has been a little while since he has had a chance to voice his opinion, and tonight, he would like to talk just a little bit about family and the pain that results following a break-up of that family. He asks WWF owner Vince McMahon to feast his eyes on the leaf blower, for it could have been his, and says that he put a nice little bow on it as he was saving it for Father's Day. He says that when the leaves lay on the ground all winter long, causing a detriment in the nitrogen level with the resulting decaying leaf matter leading to poor oxygen levels in the soil and making Vince's lawn the laughingstock of Greenwich, Connecticut, not to blame him, because from now on, he is now divorcing his family. Mankind says he can take ridicule, take embarrassment and forgive just about everything, but he will not forgive him for making him where the tuxedo shoes that he is wearing right now. He takes the shoes and throws them into the audience as a sick reminder of the sorriest day of his life, makes a Mark McGuire joke, then asks where Mr. Socko is. He says that Mr. Socko is not lost; as a matter of fact, he is on his left sock and he will continue to stay there, un-laundered and festering, until he finds his final resting place: the bottom of Vince McMahon's gullet. Vince and Shane McMahon show up, and Vince asks Mankind to understand that he is "a living, breathing personification of the fact that you cannot shine shit." He also says it hurts him deeply that Mankind cannot understand that love hurts and that he is left with no alternative but to show how badly it will hurt, for tomorrow night on Raw, he will defend the WWF Hardcore Championship against "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock and The Big Boss Man in a Triple Threat Match. He then sarcastically tells Mankind "Have a nice day!" before he and Shane leave.

Sable guests on commentary for the next match. It is announced that Sable Unleashed will be available this Tuesday where videocassettes are sold.

Jeff Jarrett beats Kurrgan. During the match, Violent J gets on the apron, and this causes a quarrel between Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope) and the rest of The Oddities (Luna Vachon, Giant Silva, Golga). Kurrgan tosses Jarrett out of the ring as the referee deals with this, then Debra distracts Kurrgan so that Jarrett can blast Kurrgan in the head with a guitar shot for the win. After the match, Sable confronts Debra for her actions, and Jarrett has to take Debra away.

Kevin Kelly interviews Val Venis backstage. Venis says tonight's first time will be a lot like a first time he once had, and he will leave "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock hurt and confused to the point that Shamrock won't know what hit him after "The Big Valbowski" comes out on top.

Michael Cole and Jim Ross interview senior WWF official Jack Lanza, who says that Austin is resting well and undergoing a battery of tests, but nothing is confirmed other than the fact that he has a concussion. It is then announced before the next match that there will be another update tomorrow night on Raw.

"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock retains the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Val Venis by disqualification after Mankind hits him in the back with a leaf blower. After the match, The Big Boss Man rushes in and assaults Mankind with his nightstick, holding him back so that Shamrock can hit Mankind with the leaf blower as the show ends.
