Raw Deal - Raw recap for November 30, 1998

RAW

We see footage from moments ago of Paul Bearer and The Undertaker talking backstage.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin arrives at the arena with a shovel in his hand before the next match. Austin then heads to the ring and hits Thrasher, Mosh, and Violent J with Stone Cold Stunners before throwing Mosh out of the ring. Austin says he is not going to wait 13 days for a Buried Alive Match, and before the night is over, The Undertaker will be wearing his shovel outside of his head.

D'Lo Brown and "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry are seen getting ready for Henry's dinner date with Chyna. Meanwhile, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is seen looking for The Undertaker backstage.

It is announced that the signature covers of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and The Undertaker are available on newsstands now. The covers are two of four of a collectible series, with the other two being Hollywood Hogan and Goldberg from World Championship Wrestling, who - not surprisingly - are called "a recent retiree" and "a Stone Cold wanna-be," respectively, when Jim Ross says the covers may be sold out and fans may have to settle for Hogan or Goldberg.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin is looking for The Undertaker backstage when a woman is walking by. When asked if she has seen The Undertaker, she says no. (This is the first-ever Raw appearance of Stephanie McMahon, the daughter of WWF co-owner Vince McMahon and the sister of WWF co-owner Shane McMahon. She does not officially debut until next year; however, she has started working in the WWF as an account executive and receptionist at WWF's New York offices at this time.)

The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg' Jesse James" and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) beat The Brood (Gangrel and Edge) by disqualification after Christian hits Billy Gunn in the back with one of the tag team belts. During the match, WWF owner Vince McMahon and company show up and watch the match from the stage. After the match, The Big Boss Man and "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock attack Gangrel, Edge and Christian while The New Age Outlaws head to the back.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin is seen backstage in the bowels of the building with the shovel still inhis hand. Austin opens the doors to two walk-in freezers and looks in them. When he looks in the second one, however, he is shoved in by The Undertaker as Paul Bearer watches, and padlocks the door shut.

"The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry asks D'Lo Brown to come with him for confidence. D'Lo Brown thinks he will be the third wheel, but Mark tells him he would do the same thing for him. D'Lo says he will do it this one time.

The Undertaker shows up. He knows that Kane is somewhere in the building, and as his ministry and his plague of evil over the WWF grows ever stronger, there are two things that stand in their way, one of them being "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who he will keep on ice until he buries him alive at Rock Bottom. He calls Kane out, saying that their battle is joined before calling him out, saying that before the night is over, one of them will face the future while the other faces eternal darkness. Kane immediately shows up, and both men brawl. The Undertaker hits Kane with a Tombstone Piledriver, then calls for Paul Bearer and a bunch of men in white from a mental institution who are carrying a straitjacket and a nightstick. Kane escapes through the arena as the men in white continue to go after Kane in Paul Bearer and The Undertaker's attempt to have Kane committed to a mental institution.

D'Lo Brown and "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry head to their limousine. Mark Henry has a suit jacket and sunglasses for D'Lo - and a chauffeur's hat, as D'Lo is apparently made by Henry to be the limo driver.

"The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry finally meets Chyna, who is in a leather vest and jeans. She just wants the dinner date over with, and rejects his romantic advances of flowers. She also recognizes D'Lo Brown, who is not amused at being the limousine driver.

The Baltimore Ravens football teams is seen in the front row.

Before the next match, X-Pac says he has no idea what's going on with The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn), then calls out WWF Commissioner "The Heartbreaker Kid" Shawn Michaels, telling him hes going to beat his ass and that he will not use a steel chair. Shawn shows up in a suit, and says to X-Pac that he is the new sheriff in town and the new Commissioner in the WWF, and if he wanted crap out of him, he'd pick it out of his teeth. After saying that he's had chunks of guys bigger than X-Pac in his stool, X-Pac asks Shawn how wide his bunghole must be. Shawn then says nothing would thrill him more than to hand X-Pac's ass to him, but he is the Commissioner and not an active wrestler, and if X-Pac even looks at him wrong, he will send him back to World Championship Wrestling so fast his head will spin. Also, since X-Pac is looking for a fight, he will face "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock later tonight, and the WWF European Championship will be on the line. He then leaves after telling X-Pac he was D-Generation X before D-Generation X was cool

D'Lo Brown, Chyna and "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry make it to the restaurant. Chyna gives Henry a hard time for the flowers for her being $1.99.

The walk-in freezer door that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was locked behind is opened, meaning that Austin has escaped.

Owen Hart guests on commentary for the next match, and states that he is staying retired and that he has never been The Blue Blazer as of late.

Goldust beats Jeff Jarrett by disqualification after Owen Hart attacks Goldust while Debra McMichael distract Goldust just before he is able to hit Shattered Dreams on Jarrett. The Blue Blazer shows up, but then attacks Owen before revealing that the man behind the mask in this instance is "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman. Referees and officials have to restore order.

As "Stone Cold" Steve Austin looks for The Undertaker, The Undertaker and Paul Bearer look for Kane along with the mental institution guards.

WAR ZONE

WWF Commissioner "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels ejects The J.O.B. Squad (Al Snow, 2 Cold Scorpio, Bob Holly, Dwayne Gill) from ringside before guesting om commentary (and rating Mankind with cards he draws low numerical values like "-2" on).

The Big Boss Man beats Mankind in a Ladder Match to become the WWF Hardcore Champion! During the match, The Rock shows up and gets involved in the match, keeping Mankind from the title by pushing the ladder down - and Mankind with it before hitting Mankind with the Rock Bottom before helping The Big Boss Man grab the title. The Rock continues to stomp on Mankind after the match, and Shawn hits Mankind with the Boss Man's nightstick.

The Undertaker and Paul Bearer have found Kane...

The Undertaker and Kane are seen brawling backstage in a dimly lit room while Paul Bearer watches. The Undertaker lays Kane out with a steel chair, and The Undertaker places Kane in a bodybag while Paul Bearer gets the men in white. All of a sudden, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up from behind and whacks The Undertaker in the face with his shovel so hard that it knocks the metal end off.

"Marvelous" Marc Mero is in the ring. After scoffing at the fact that Dwayne Gill comes from Baltimore, Maryland - where Raw is taking place. He promises that if he cannot beat "that jobber," this will be the last time you see "Marvelous" Marc Mero. Dwayne Gill shows up with the Pasadena Chargers football team - which he coaches - and runs a lap around the ring with them. The team has just wrapped up an undefeated football season.

Dwayne Gill beats "Marvelous" Marc Mero, forcing Marc Mero to leave the World Wrestling Federation. During the match, Bob Holly and 2 Cold Scorpio show up at ringside. All of a sudden, The Blue Meanie shows up again from the crowd, and pushes Mero off the crowd as he goes for the Marvelocity, allowing Dwayne Gill to get the pin.

Paul Bearer finds the orderlies and takes them to where Kane and The Undertaker are.

The TV guide signature covers of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and The Undertaker are plugged again.

"The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry and Chyna are seated at a restaurant. Mark Henry recites a poem to Chyna, and raises a glass of wine to her. Chyna drinks a glass of wine, and is about to drink the entire bottle until Mark Henry offers to dance.

"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock beats X-Pac by disqualification. X-Pac retains the WWF European Championship. During the match, WWF co-owner Vince McMahon and associates are seen talking to The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) backstage. Near the end, as X-Pac goes for the X-Factor, WWF Commissioner "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels pulls referee Tim White out of the ring and talks to him, allowing The Big Boss Man to strike X-Pac from behind with a cheap shot. As Tim White gets back in the ring, "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley makes a surprise return and kicks Shamrock in the face. Triple H and X-Pac flee the ring and give Shamrock, the Boss Man and Shawn the crotch chop from the ramp.

Paul Bearer and the orderlies find the bodybag. Kane is inside, and the bodybag is placed on the stretcher and taken away.

"The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry tries to get Chyna to dance with him. Chyna gets into it a little bit, but sits back down. Henry heads to the bathroom, and asks Chyna to watch his coat. Suddenly, a few guys walk in, point at Chyna, and proceed to try to get her attention and call her. Chyna wants nothing to do with them. Suddenly, the guy asking Chyna to dance with him calls her a bitch, and Chyna punches the guy out before Henry runs back in and beats up the man's two friends. Chyna and Mark Henry then leave the restaurant.

Before the next match, Val Venis brings out The Godfather and his hos. He then tells Tiger Ali Singh that last night, his girlfriend went all the way down after asking how low America will go. He then asks The Godfather to keep his eye on "that little monkey" Babu, and if he gets out of line, to "spank that little monkey."

Val Venis beats Tiger Ali Singh by disqualification. As The Godfather's hos keep Babu busy, Jacqueline and Terry Runnels show up. As Jacqueline distracts both Val Venis and The Godfather, Terri Runnels hits Val Venis with a low blow. Suddenly, The Acolytes (Faarooq and Bradshaw) show up and attack Tiger Ali Singh and Babu while The Jackyl watches from the corner as Val Venis, THe Godfather and the hos leave. Referees and officials have to restore order.

Paul Bearer watches the ambulance leave. He heads back to the building, and Kane and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin watch Paul Bearer from a monitor in a dressing room.

WWF co-owner Shane McMahon shows up. He says that what we are about to see is "a lesson in humility" for Sable, who started out modeling WWF merchandise and would be nowhere if it were not for the marketing genius of his father, WWF co-owner Vince McMahon. He then brings out Sable, who models the new "WWF Attitude" cologne for men and "WWF Attitude" eau de toilette, only $19.99 each plus $4 shipping and handling. What happens next is a rather unintentionally creepy smell test where Sable ends up spraying the cologne into Shane's mouth before leaving.

The Rock beats Al Snow. During the match, Snow accidentally knocks out the ref with a clothesline. After hitting Snow with the Rock Bottom, The Rock gives Head the People's Elbow before trying to use it as a weapon. Snow takes Head away from The Rock, however, and hits him with it instead. As Earl Hebner comes to, The Big Boss Man and "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock shows up. This distracts Snow, who falls for a Rock Bottom which gives The Rock the win. After the match, Mankind runs in, bu the gets beat up along with Al Snow by The Rock, Shamrock and The Big Boss Man. The rest of The J.O.B. Squad (Bob Holly, 2 Cold Scorpio, Dwayne Gill) rushes in and attacks Shamrock and The Boss Man, and Mankind catches up to The Rock as he heads to the back. Referees and officials rush to the ring and restore, but Mankind and The Rock take their brawl to the back.

Paul Bearer is looking for The Undertaker to tell him that Kane is gone only to run into "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who tells him to open the door to the nearby walk-in freezer. Inside is Kane. Austin tells Bearer that The Undertaker is the one going into the nuthouse with Kane's mask on his head as he and Kane take Paul Bearer to the ring.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Paul Bearer head to the ring with Paul Bearer. Austin asks Bearer how he feels knowing that he was the one who sent The Undertaker to a mental institution, and that The Undertaker cannot save him tonight as a result. He gives a recap of what Paul Bearer and The Undertaker tried to do to him last week, and calls Bearer "a sick bastard." After getting a beer, he asks the crowd to give him a "hell yeah" if they want to see Kane beat Paul Bearer up. Suddenly, he calls Kane off and asks Kane to get a gas can from the back, but then drinks the beer and changes his mind again, saying he has a better idea. Austin pulls out a pair of scissors, and Bearer pretends to pass out. Austin hen tells Bearer that "it's time for Dr. Austin to go to work" as he cuts Bearer's shirt open before telling him he will gut him with the scissors. Austin then says it would be too easy, then tells Kane to get him up. Austin and Kane then take Bearer outside. Kane opens a manhole cover, and Bearer is stuffed in the sewer by Austin and Kane to end the show.

After the show goes off the air, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin returns to the ring. He gets a beer, but he is suddenly attacked by The Rock. The Rock and Steve Austin fight in the ring, and Austin fights out of the Rock Bottom before hitting The Rock with a Stone Cold Stunner. After Austin has a beer, The Rock gets back on his feet, but is woozy. Austin waits for The Rock to turn around before hitting him with another Stone Cold Stunner and pouring the beer on him. Austin then tosses his tanktop into the crowd near the tamp and makes his way to the back. The Rock crawls to a microphone, picks it up, and says that he is leaving the WWF Champion as he tries to get back on his feet. Austin then comes back, grabs another beer, and then heads into the ring to offer The Rock a cold beer. The Rock takes the beer, they both drink, then The Rock tries to punch Austin only for Austin to duck and hit him with yet another Stone Cold Stunner and pouring another beer on the back of The Rock's head. Austin then heads back to the back again as WWF co-owner Shane McMahon helps The Rock up. Austin sees this, gets back in the ring again and hits Shane with a Stone Cold Stunner before hitting another one on The Rock. Austin helps Shane back up, raises his hand, hugs him, and then hits him with another Stone Cold Stunner. He then heads to the back.
