Raw Deal - Raw recap for January 31, 1994

Irwin R. Schyster guests on commentary this week.

Marty Jannetty takes the place of The 1-2-3 Kid in the match with Johnny Polo, who says that The Kid is faking his injury and that Jannetty isn't even in his league since he beat him already. Jannety is about to speak on the mic, but uses it as a weapon by wrapping the cord around Polo's feet when Polo charges him. The 1-2-3 Kid guests on commentary.

Marty Jannetty beats Johnny Polo. After the match, The 1-2-3 Kid confronts Irwin R. Schyster for stealing Razor Ramon's gold, and I.R.S. attacks him, almost clocking Vince McMahon in the process. Marty Jannetty hops out of the ring and goes after I.R.S., and The 1-2-3 Kid takes the opportunity to steal the briefcase and limps away with it. After officials separate I.R.S. and Jannetty, I.R.S. finds out that his briefcase has been stolen, and blames it on Jannetty.

After the commercial break, an irate Irwin R. Schyster heads back to the back, thinking Marty Janetty stole his briefcase. Suddenly, Razor Ramon shows up with his gold around his neck, and Marty Jannetty shows up with the briefcase. He tosses it back to I.R.S., who is stopped by officials from reclaiming Razor's gold.

Bam Bam Bigelow beats Miguel Rosado.

The coin toss for WrestleMania 10 is decided. If Lex Luger wins, Bret Hart must face Owen Hart, then take on the winner of Luger vs. Yokozuna for the WWF Championship. If Bret Hart wins, Lex Luger must face Crush, then take on the winner of Hart vs. Yokozuna for the WWF Championship. The coin used is an American half-dollar (which is called a silver dollar by WWF President Jack Tunney). Lex Luger calls heads as it is flipped into the air by Tunney, and Luger wins the coin toss. Lex Luger is thrilled to win the coin toss and be Royal Rumble co-winner, and wishes Bret Hart the best of luck. As for Bret Hart, he has no choice but to deal with his brother Owen Hart, and considers Luger a worthy opponent. He wants to lock up with him for the WWF Championship.

Kwang beats Rich Myers. During the match, Owen Hart is interviewed via telephone. Hart says he's the big winner despite Luger winning the coin toss earlier, as he gets to show the world that he's always been better than his brother Bret Hart.

Earthquake, returning to the WWF for the first time in a year, beats Corey Student. During the match, it is confirmed that Marty Jannetty has accepted Irwin R. Schyster's challenge for next week.

Vince McMahon interviews Razor Ramon and Marty Jannetty. Jannetty tells Irwin R. Schyster that he plans to beat him "for all the people abused by the IRS" next week.

Next week: Thurmann "Sparky" Plugg! Owen Hart! The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn)!

As the show goes off the air, Irwin R. Schyster finds out it was The 1-2-3 Kid who stole his briefcase, not Marty Jannetty.

Come As You Are (WWF Superstar) - Superstars recap for January 29, 1994

WWF President Jack Tunney announces that both Lex Luger and Bret "Hit Man" Hart will both be given the opportunity to challenge Yokozuna for the WWF Championship at WrestleMania 10, meaning that for the first time in WWF history, the WWF Championship will be defended twice in the same event. This Monday night on Raw, there will be a coin toss to dictate who faces Yokozuna. If Luger wins the coin toss, Bret will face Owen Hart, then face whoever is the winner of Luger vs. Yokozuna for the WWF Championship. If Bret wins the coin toss, Luger will face Crush before facing the winner of Bret vs. Yokozuna for the WWF Championship. Whoever wins the second championship match will be the undisputed WWF Champion. It is announced that Luger, Bret and Yokozuna have agreed to this format, and announces that this is a fair and equitable decision. He also announces that unannounced special guest referees acceptable to all parties will be assigned to the two championship matches at WrestleMania 10.

Men on a Mission (Mabel and Mo) beat Joey Stallings and Terry Austin.

We hear from Jim Cornette, who says that this is the greatest day of his, Yokozuna and Mr. Fuji's lives as they are about to be part of the greatest celebration in the history of Japan after Yokozuna retained the WWF Championship against The Undertaker at Royal Rumble despite all the weeks of media barrage swaying public opinion, a conspiracy against them from the WWF and Paul Bearer's attempt to stack the deck against Yokozuna. He claims that Yokozuna won it on his own (despite the massive amount of assistance by the bad guys to get The Undertaker in the casket). Cornette says that when his attorneys are done with the results of the Royal Rumble Match, neither Lex Luger or Bret "Hit Man" Hart will get a shot at the WWF Championship as they will be old and gray.

The 1-2-3 Kid vs. Johnny Polo: next week on Raw!

Thurman "Sparky" Plugg beats The Brooklyn Brawler in his WWF debut.

We see a video package of Alundra Blyaze training in the gym as well as appreciating some of the finer things in life.

Jim Ross advertises a show at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York next Sunday at 1:30 PM with four main events. Men on a Mission (Mabel and Mo) will go at it with The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre) for the WWF Tag Team Championships, The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) face Yokozuna and Ludvig Borga in a two-out-of-three falls match, and Bret "Hit Man" Hart will take on Irwin R. Schyster. We hear from I.R.S., who says that he thinks Bret "Hit Man" Hart is vulnerable and that Bret should be embarrassed and ashamed of himself for putting his family through the situation of Owen turning on him. If he was Owen, he would disown him, but Owen is doing the smart thing and beating Bret up. Tomorrow at Nassau Coliseum, Bret will be facing him, and if he is thinking about his family problems, then he is in danger, as he should not face him without him in mind. We then hear from Bret, who says that what happened at Royal Rumble is something he will not forget, and that this will not blow over any time soon. He tells I.R.S. he is a great wrestler, but when it comes time for him to shine, he will shine, and he will be at his best tomorrow.

LaTonya Johnson is the guest ring announcer for the next match.

Diesel beats Tommy Angel. Shawn Michaels on top of Tommy Angel to high-five Diesel after the match.

We hear from The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre) and Johnny Polo. Next week, The Quebecers will be facing The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) in a ten-minute non-title match, and if The Steiner Brothers win, they get a rematch at the tag team titles. Jacques will prove that the Quebecers were never afraid of the Steiners and that the Steiners never had a chance of beating them. Polo says they will keep the tag team titles in the locker room as the Stieners will try to steal the titles when they lose.

Tatanka beats Austin Steele.

The History of WrestleMania will be available this Wednesday from Coliseum Home Video.

Todd Pettengill announces that this coming Wednesday, Coliseum Home Video will re-release all nine previous WrestleMania events on VHS as part of a limited edition release. He then recaps the coin toss next week on Raw as well as the current situation regarding the WWF Championship at WrestleMania 10, then announces there will be more info on the matches at WrestleMania 10, WrestleMania Fan Fest and the celebrities who will be there.

Earthquake is returning to the WWF this Monday night on Raw!

Before the match, it is announced that Jarrett is on the cover of the current issue of Countrybeat Magazine. After the match, Jarrett attacks Tyrone Knox and hits him with a DDT.

Paul Bearer pushes the double-wide, double-deep casket from Royal Rumble containing The Undertaker. We then hear The Undertaker's last words from Royal Rumble.

The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu) beat Larry McGill and Sid Garrison.

Jim Ross re-advertises tomorrow's show at Nassau Coliseum. Tatanka will face Diesel, The 1-2-3 Kid will face Johnny Polo, and Lex Luger faces Crush in a "coward surrenders" match. We then hear from Crush, who says that Mr. Fuji will never wave the white flag in tomorrow's match as he goes through a lot of pain and torture in Mr. Fuji's dungeon. He admits Luger may have an advantage by having "Macho Man" Randy Savage in his corner, but if Savage interferes, he will make him surrender along with Luger. We then hear from Savage, who says that tomorrow will be the end of the road for Crush and that he is taking the match seriously. He says that Luger has asked him not to wave the flag, and tells Mr. Fuji that if he wants to keep Crush around, he has better wave the flag and keep him away from Nassau Coliseum.

Next week: The 1-2-3 Kid and Marty Jannetty in tag team action! The debut of Kwang! The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) vs. The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre) in a ten-minute time limit match where The Steiner Brothers get a rematch at the tag team titles if they win!

We hear from The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner). Scott says that every time they have faced The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre), they come up with a new stipulation. Rick says that they will beat them in ten minutes next week, and then they will come for the tag team titles.

Royal Rumble 1994 - The Results

The show begins with the surprise return of "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, who hasn't been seen since SummerSlam. He joins Vince McMahon on commentary.

It is announced before the first match that Bam Bam Bigelow is replacing Ludvig Borga in the match against Tatanka.

Tatanka beats Bam Bam Bigelow.

Todd Pettengill interviews The Hart Brothers (Bret and Owen Hart). Bret says that when he and Owen take the tag team titles, they'll defend against all comers. Owen can't wait to make his brother a three-time tag team champion.

The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre) retain the WWF Tag Team Championships against The Hart Brothers (Bret and Owen Hart) after the referee elects to end the match despite there being no submission from Bret Hart. After the match, Owen Hart confronts Bret for not tagging him in when he had the chance, then kicks Bret in his injured leg, turning on him. As Owen leaves, he says to the camera that Bret is selfish and only cares about himself. Bret has to be helped back to the back. Todd Pettengill interviews Owen Hart in the locker room. Owen calls Bret selfish for costing him the tag team titles and said that Bret just had to tag him in. As for the Royal Rumble match, Owen says Bret cost himself the match, and not only says that Bret doesn't care about him, but that he doesn't care about Bret. He plans on winning the Royal Rumble match to get back at Bret. (Note: This is where the infamous "That's why I kicked your leg out of your leg" line comes from.)

Jim Ross and Gorilla Monsoon take over on commentary for the next match.

Irwin R. Schyster beats Razor Ramon to win the WWF Intercontinental Championship after Shawn Michaels hits Razor Ramon from behind with his Intercontinental title belt, then leaves it behind. When another official shows up to tell the referee what's going on, Razor Ramon hits the Razor's Edge on I.R.S. to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship.

Yokozuna retains the WWF Championship against The Undertaker in a Casket Match thanks to the help of Crush, The Great Kabuki, Tenryu, Bam Bam Bigelow, Adam Bomb, Jeff Jarrett, Samu, Fatu, and Diesel. Undertaker's fate is further sealed when Yokozuna opens the urn, causing the urn's power to escape in a flowing waft of green smoke. After the match, all ten men along with Mr. Fuji, Jim Cornette and Afa push the casket - containing Undertaker - to the back when green smoke suddenly emanates from it. On the TitanTron, the inside of the casket is shown...and Undertaker wakes up, saying that his spirit lives within the soul of all mankind and cannot be extinguished, and that all mankind will soon witness his rebirth, as he will not rest in peace. Undertaker's soul then rises from the TitanTron image, and through the ceiling of the arena. Paul Bearer is soon seen paying tribute to 'Taker before pushing the casket to the back.

We hear from some of the participants of this year's Royal Rumble match: "Macho Man" Randy Savage, "Double J" Jeff Jarrett, Tatanka, Diesel, Doink, Shawn Michaels, and Lex Luger.

In a shocking twist, Lex Luger and Bret Hart, the last two men in the ring and the latter still hurting from the tag team match with his brother-turned-enemy Owen Hart, seemingly eliminate each other from the Royal Rumble match at the same time. The referees cannot tell who landed outside of the ring first, and at first, Luger is declared the winner, but then the decision is reversed and Hart is declared the winner. However, the referees still quarrel, and the results of the Royal Rumble match are in doubt. Jack Tunney shows up, however, and both men are declared co-winners after three replays from various angles show that both men landed outside of the ring at the same time. Both men give a very brief handshake before leaving.

During the Rumble...

Kwang makes his televised debut.

It is revealed that Tenryu and The Great Kabuki attacked Lex Luger earlier today.

It is also revealed that Virgil is an alternate for Kamala. It doesn't take long for Diesel to eliminate him, however.

Crush eliminates "Macho Man" Randy Savage.

Thurman "Sparky" Plugg shows up an an alternate for The 1-2-3 Kid, who currently has a bad knee.

Diesel is eliminated after Shawn Michaels shows up and Diesel teases turning on him. Diesel has the most eliminations this year with seven.

It takes seven men to eliminate Mabel.

Lex Luger eliminates The Great Kabuki by himself, and eliminates Tenryu with the help of Bret "Hit Man" Hart.

Bret Hart somehow shows up two numbers late, despite still hurting from his match earlier. Nevertheless, the numbering for the Royal Rumble match is undisturbed. It is later revealed to be Bastion Booger, who became sick prior to the Rumble.

We hear from The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre) and Johnny Polo. Polo says The Quebecers have done what they said they would do, and took the tag team titles back from The 1-2-3 Kid and Marty Jannetty. Polo says The Quebecers are ready for Bret "Hit Man" Hart and "The Rocket" Owen Hart, and says they will keep the belts at Royal Rumble while Bret and Owen beat the snot out of each other. Jacques says they will defend the tag team titles and show what true brotherly love is all about.

Doink quickly beats Corey Student. During the match, we see pre-recorded comments from Bam Bam Bigelow, who says that he will set the ring on fire and win the Royal Rumble Match against 28 other men and one clown.

Jim Ross announces that tickets for WrestleMania 10 will be on sale this Monday at the Madison Square Garden box office, all area TicketMaster outlets and by phone. He then advertises a show at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York next Sunday at 1:30 PM with four main events. Bret "Hit Man" Hart will take on Irwin R. Schyster, The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) face Yokozuna and Ludvig Borga in a two-out-of-three falls match, Lex Luger and Crush square off, and Men on a Mission (Mabel and Mo) will go at it with The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre). We hear from Johnny Polo, who says that Men on a Mission have terrible hairstyles and look like parachutes. He also says that Oscar stinks at rapper and that he is even better, and predicts that The Quebecers will bring the pain.

We hear from Paul Bearer, who tells Yokozuna that it is time for his journey into the dark side. He says Yokozuna may be deathly afraid, but The Undertaker will fill his special casket with Yokozuna's body and the deterioration process will soon begin. The casket is then carried off on a horse and buggy, then The Undertaker tells Yokozuna to fear not, as he should actually be terrified.

Mike Ferrala is the special guest ring announcer for the next match.

Shawn Michaels beats John Crystal. During the match, we see pre-recorded from Shawn, who says that he will win the Royal Rumble Match this year and become the next WWF Champion.

During the Royal Rumble report, we hear from Irwin R. Schyster, who says Razor Ramon has a bad habit of misplacing gold objects, as he has misplaced the "fool's gold" around his neck and will soon misplace the WWF Intercontinental Championship, as he will be taking it with him after Royal Rumble. We then hear from Razor, who tells I.R.S. that the time for talking is over and the time for fighting has begun.

The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn) beat Adam Bomb and "The Model" Rick Martel after Harvey Wippleman gets caught trying to interfere in the match. During the match, we hear pre-recorded comments from The Smoking Gunns, who say that they will not let a shot at the WWF Championship slip away from them in the Royal Rumble Match. After the match, Martel is about to beat up Wippleman when he is confronted by Adam Bomb, and Adam Bomb and Martel have an argument before Martel walks out of the ring.

Jim Ross runs down the card for Royal Rumble, then we hear from Shawn Michaels, who says that he is the undisputed WWF Intercontinental Champion and that he is in the Royal Rumble Match. He does not recognize Razor Ramon as champion, but he is putting his money on Irwin R. Schyster. He says everyone knows he does not like Razor, and that if he had to pick a friend, it would have to be I.R.S. He then says there is only one Intercontinental Champion, and it is him. He also predicts that he himself will win the Royal Rumble Match and earn a shot at the WWF Championship.

Crush beats Dan Dubiel with the Cranium Crusher. During the match, we hear pre-recorded comments from Crush, who says that he will come into the ring and go through 29 other men like a tornado in a trailer park and end "Macho Man" Randy Savage's career in the Royal Rumble Match.

Raymond Rougeau interviews Bret "Hit Man" Hart and "The Rocket" Owen Hart. Owen says that everything is okay between him and Bret, and things have not been better. He says tonight will be their night, and talks about how Bret brought a different WWF championship home and laid it on the dining room table. He then says tonight will be the night that he does that alongside Bret with the tag team titles, and he will get his big break and lift off higher than he has ever gone before. He says that The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre) are going down and that they will be number one. Bret says that his altercation with Owen is water under the bridge and does not matter anymore, as they are a unit and a pair of brothers going to the top. Tonight, they will prove they are the greatest team in the history of the World Wrestling Federation, and when The Quebecers lose, they will be winning the WWF Tag Team Championship for themselves and their family as well as for the fans. He says it is showtime and that there is no stopping them now.

We hear Men on a Mission's (Mabel, Mo, Oscar) Royal Rumble Rap.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for January 17, 1994

Crush guests on commentary for this week.

"The Rocket" Owen Hart beats Terry Austin with the Sharpshooter. During the match, reporter Stan Lane is interviewed via telephone from Madison Square Garden. He is watching the championship rematch between former WWE Tag Team Champions The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre) and the new champions Marty Jannetty and The 1-2-3 Kid, who won the titles from them last week. After the match, Vince McMahon interviews Owen and his brother Bret Hart. He still looks forward to facing The Quebecers and hopefully a shot at the tag team titles. As for Bret, it doesn't matter who they face as long as they get that tag team title shot eventually.

Tatanka beats George South.

We get a look at WWF Women's Champion Alundra Blayze.

Vince McMahon interviews WWF Champion Yokozuna in the ring. Jim Cornette is not here as he is in a press conference in Japan to plan a victory celebration for Yokozuna in Tokyo. It doesn't take long for Paul Bearer to show up with a custom-made double-wide, double-deep wooden casket. Mr. Fuji is eager to take a look, but Yokozuna, still afraid of caskets as ever, is very reluctant to even go halfway across the ring, but eventually approaches it. When Yokozuna gets a look inside the casket, The Undertaker pops out as soon as Yokozuna tries to lift the lid. Yokozuna makes a hasty retreat, as does Mr. Fuji.

Bret and Owen Hart take on The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu) next week on Raw.

Yokozuna shows up and assists Crush and I.R.S., followed by Lex Luger, Shawn Michaels, Diesel and Bret Hart. A two-on-one brawl turns into a mini-Royal Rumble that ends the show.

Come As You Are (WWF Superstar) - Superstars recap for January 15, 1994

Lex Luger beats Bastion Booger.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart congratulates The 1-2-3 Kid and Marty Jannetty on beating The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre) for the WWF Tag Team Championship, but "The Rocket" Owen Hart is not happy with the fact that his big break slipped away. Bret says he knows they will be the first person to get a title shot The 1-2-3 Kid and Marty Jannetty after they beat The Quebecers at Royal Rumble. Bret says he will now dedicate his career to tag team wrestling and his brother Owen after completing all his single matches and 1-on-1 obligations, so he and Owen can win the tag team titles.

It is announced that Marty Jannetty and The 1-2-3 Kid will be defending the WWF Tag Team Championships against The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre) this Monday night in Madison Square Garden in New York City. We hear from The Quebecers and Johnny Polo, who says Jannetty and The 1-2-3 Kid pulled the upset of the century and that they were not ready; however, he placed a clause in the contract that gave The Quebecers a return match just in case they lost. Jacques vows The Quebecers will win their titles back. Meanwhile, we hear from Jannetty and The 1-2-3 Kid. Jannetty says The Quebecers aren't laughing so much now after taking them lightly and asks how they feel now. He tells The Quebecers that if they cannot get it done, they might as well return to Canada. The 1-2-3 Kid says they will see if it was a fluke victory, and that hopefully they will defend the titles and keep them.

The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu) beat J.W. Storm and Tony DeVito. During the match, we hear pre-recorded comments from Afa and The Headshrinkers, who are psyching themselves up for the Royal Rumble Match.

Jim Ross advertises a show at Madison Square Garden for this Monday night with a triple main event. It is also announced that ticket buyers will get the first opportunity to buy tickets for WrestleMania 10 before their release to the general public on January 24th. Yokozuna will defend the WWF Championship against Tatanka, Rick Steiner will take on Ludvig Borga, Razor Ramon will defend the WWF Intercontinental Championship against "Double J" Jeff Jarrett, and there will also be a 30-man New York City Rumble. We hear from Jarrett, who is not concerned about being the underdog against Razor Ramon. He says Razor's undefeated streak in Madison Square Garden will come to an end, and he will find out he is all about. We then hear from Razor Ramon, who says there is no way to forget what Jarrett has said about him, as people are asking him to "give Jeff Jarrett one for them." He says big trouble is coming to Jarrett, and tells him to get ready for Monday night.

Nicole Froton is the honorary guest ring announcer for the next match.

Tatanka beats Barry Horowitz. During the match, we hear pre-recorded comments from Ludvig Borga, who says he will destroy Tatanka for good at Royal Rumble.

Jim Ross interviews Yokozuna, Mr. Fuji and Jim Cornette. Before the interview begins, we see footage of Paul Bearer and The Undertaker unveiling the double-wide, double-deep casket intended for Yokozuna, with Paul Bearer saying it will be a ride that he will never forgot and that instead of kicking the titles, all Yokozuna has to do is kick the bucket. He then says that he will not hear any external noise at all. The Undertaker says all Yokozuna will hear is the hounds of Hell baying for his soul. Cornette feels hornswoggled after seeing the footage, and admits that Yokozuna is afraid not of The Undertaker, but of the casket, which he calls "a box" so as not to further scare Yokozuna. He says that because of the fans, WWF President Jack Tunney, Paul Bearer and The Undertaker, they are all victims of a con job. He tells Paul Bearer and The Undertaker that they have backed Yokozuna into a corner and that Yokozuna will come out fighting, doing everything in his power and fighting out of instinct after his one fear was used against him, and that they had better be ready to prepare all the fixings and trimmings of a first-class funeral for The Undertaker that is long overdue, as The Undertaker will be laid to rest along with the hopes and dreams of taking the WWF Championship away from him.

Virgil beats Derek Domino by submission.

Raymond Rougeau interviews Shawn Michaels, who says his chances of winning the Royal Rumble Match are great. Suddenly, Bam Bam Bigelow butts in and says he will win the match, as does "Double J" Jeff Jarrett, Crush, Adam Bomb and "The Model" Rick Martel. Shawn then says he and Diesel will toss everyone out two people at a time, then Diesel will graciously climb out over the top rope to let him, but Diesel says he will not throw the Rumble, which starts an argument between the two of them.

During the Royal Rumble Report, we hear from "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who says nobody will rain on his parade when he wins the Royal Rumble Match and goes on to WrestleMania 10, where he will win the WWF Championship for a third time. He is back and better than ever, as the madness has kicked in and he is going to win. We also hear from The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn), who say they are gearing up for the match and are ready for a potential brawl between themselves. We then hear from The 1-2-3 Kid and Marty Jannetty. Jannetty says they will stick together until they face each other at the end, when they try to toss each other over the top rope.

Shawn Michaels is on the cover as well as the inside of the newest issue of WWF Magazine, available now.

Before the next match, Irwin R. Schyster says 1994 is the year that all the "tax cheats" will pay, as 1994 will be "the year of the audit."

Irwin R. Schyster beats Tony Roy. During the match, we hear pre-recorded comments from Razor Ramon, who says that I.R.S. may have ripped off the gold around his neck, but he will never rip the gold off his waist in their match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship.

Jim Ross re-advertises the show at Madison Square Garden for this Monday night with a triple main event. It is announced that The Rock 'n Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson), The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn), The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu), The Heavenly Bodies ("Doctor" Tom Pritchard and "Gigolo" Jimmy Delrey), Scott Putski, Ivan Putski, "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Crush will all be in the 30-man New York City Rumble. We hear from Crush, who says that this Monday night, the long, slow painful clock will come to a ticking end, and in case he does not win the New York City Rumble, it will be worth trying to end Savage's career, as he hates him and his fans and he cannot wait to destroy him. We then hear from Savage, who says that he plans to win the New York City Rumble, and if Crush is in his way, that will be a free shot on Crush for all to see as he attempts to win.

Next week: Ludvig Borga! Doink! Shawn Michaels! The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn) vs. Adam Bomb and Rick Martel! A special interview with Bret "The Hit Man" Hart and "The Rocket" Owen Hart!

The Undertaker beats Dwayne Gill.

WWF President Jack Tunney announces that Lex Luger will be allowed to take part in the Royal Rumble Match, and that he will be joined by two other entries representing Mr. Fuji: Tenryu and The Great Kabuki. All 30 participants have now been added into the match, and the winner will face the WWF Champion at WrestleMania 10.

Yokozuna beats Scott Taylor and Bert Centeno in a 2-on-1 handicap match. As the match begings, we see pre-recorded comments from Mr. Fuji, who says that WWF President Jack Tunney gave permission to enter the Royal Rumble Match, and for that, he has hired two great wrestlers from Japan to assure that Luger will not survive it. After the match, the lights go out, and Paul Bearer, The Undertaker and the coffin that The Undertaker is working on shows up on the video screen. Paul Bearer says he has read the fine print in the contract, and tells Yokozuna, Jim Cornette and Mr. Fuji forgot to read his and that they made a big mistake in unwittingly putting Yokozuna in a Casket Match that Bearer now reveals as a one time only match. The Undertaker says it will take him only one time, and that Yokozuna and his entourage have made a big mistake. He, on the other hand, does not make mistakes; he buries them. Yokozuna is spooked.

"Double J" Jeff Jarrett beats Rich Myers. During the match, we see pre-recorded comments from Jarrett, who says that WWF President Jack Tunney and 29 other wrestlers will find out he is the best there is at the Royal Rumble Match. After the match, Jarrett hits Rich Myers with a kick to the gut followed by a running jumping DDT.

Shawn Michaels is on the cover of the newest issue of WWF Magazine, available worldwide this Tuesday. Meanwhile, "Double J" Jeff Jarrett gets an article concerning his activities in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jim Ross advertises a show at Madison Square Garden on January 17th with a triple main event. Yokozuna will defend the WWF Championship against Tatanka, Razor Ramon will defend the WWF Intercontinental Championship against "Double J" Jeff Jarrett, and there will also be a 30-man New York City Rumble. We hear from Crush, who says that he wants to win the Rumble for himself and Mr. Fuji while proving to the world that he is the most awesome force in the WWF when he goes into the ring like a tornado in a trailer park to toss everyone out of it. He only fears one thing: "Macho Man" Randy Savage not showing up. If Savage does show up, however, his screaming fans will see his worst nightmare come true. We also hear from Savage, who says that he has never been more ready for the New York City Rumble, and says everyone around the world dreams of wrestling in Madison Square Garden. He has an underlying current in the form of Crush, and he plans on winning the New York City Rumble because Madison Square Garden is very important to him. He knows Crush is focused on hurting him, but he might just nail Crush if he tries.

Chris McKenna is the honorary ring announcer for the next match.

Bret "Hit Man" Hart beats Mike Bell with the Sharpshooter. During the match, we hear pre-recorded comments from Bret and "The Rocket" Owen Hart. Owen says he cannot express how happy he is to team up with Bret for the tag team titles at Royal Rumble, and he wants this title shot to be the best one yet. Bret says it will be a big day for them, and The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre) are going down hard when they become the new tag champs.

Rene Rougeau interviews The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre) and Johnny Polo. Polo says he hates Luger, calling him a yellow-bellied coward and says he put a piece of metal in his arm to be like the Bionic Man before knocking him and The Quebecers out with the running forearm smash. He hopes that Lex Luger ends up all alone in the ring during the Royal Rumble with ten of their friends, as he will find out he is not as much of a knock-out than he thinks he is. Pierre says something in French, then Jacques says there is no one in the WWF who is as close as they are. He also says that brothers are not always close, and that brothers don't always get along. Polo says that to prove what kind of champions they are, they will defend the tag titles on Raw next week against Marty Jannetty and The 1-2-3 Kid, whom he says are much worthier opponents than Bret "Hit Man" Hart and "The Rocket" Owen Hart. Jacques says they will prove they are fighting champions, not closet champions, and at Royal Rumble, they will show what brotherly love is all about.

Tatanka tells us not to drink and drive.

Razor Ramon beats Chris Duffy. During the match, we hear pre-recorded comments from Irwin R. Schyster, who tells Razor Ramon that he has gone out of his way to embarrass him on national television more than once, and has accused him of stealing the gold around his neck. If he were Razor Ramon, he would be more focused on the gold around his waist, because at Royal Rumble, it will be his.

We see a video package for Kwang, who breaks two wooden boards with his fists.

On the Royal Rumble Report, it is made official that Lex Luger, Tenryu and The Great Kabuki have officially added to the Royal Rumble Match, officially bringing the official amount of participants in the match to 30. We then hear from Lex Luger, who cannot say how excited he is to be in the Royal Rumble Match. He thanks WWF President Jack Tunney for rendering the decision as well as the fans for their loyalty and support, which made it all possible. As for Mr. Fuji's "great compromise," he is more focused on the match as there are no friends and only foes. He plans to thank the fans by winning the Royal Rumble. We also hear from Ludvig Borga, who says there is nothing better for him than the Royal Rumble. He gives no mercy, and he does not want it, either. He will not give any mercy to Tatanka, and once he is done with him, he will be out. We then hear from Tatanka, who says talk is cheap and that Ludvig Borga speaks with a forked tongue. He says that Ludvig Borga found out what kind of savage he created when he injured him, and that he will find out what he really made at Royal Rumble, as he will not make it to the Royal Rumble Match.

Doink is on this month's calendar on WWF Magazine.

Bam Bam Bigelow beats Brian Walsh. During the match, we hear pre-recorded comments from Bam Bam Bigelow, who says he will be in the Royal Rumble Match. After the match, Doink shows up, and referee Tim White has to keep Bam Bam Bigelow and Luna Vachon away from Doink. As Bam Bam Bigelow gets closer to Doink, Dink sneaks up on Bam Bam. Doink fakes throwing a bucket of water at Bam Bam, who trips over Dink. Doink then empties the bucket on the floor, revealing that there were marbles inside. Bam Bam and Luna slide on the marbles as they go after Doink and Dink.

Jim Ross re-advertises a show at Madison Square Garden on January 17th. Rick Steiner will take on Ludvig Borga. We then hear from Mr. Fuji and Jim Cornette. Cornette tells Tatanka that on January 17th, he can conjure all the spirits and power of all the Native Americans and have every fan in Madison Square Garden cheering for him, and he can remember all the pain, agony, suffering and embarrassment that he suffered at the hands of Yokozuna, but he might as well ball all that up and throw it over his shoulder and into the trash, because when Yokozuna hits him with the Banzai Drop, he will be stretchered out of the building. We also hear from Tatanka, who says the fans have never seen him so intense. He resembles America to the fullest, being the first American, as he says everyone knows Yokozuna did to him. He has not forgotten what he did to him, his family and his fans. He tells Yokozuna to prepare for war on the battlefield, for he will inflict pain on him and take the WWF Championship away.

Next week: the unveiling of The Undertaker's double-wide, double-deep casket as well as The Undertaker in action! Tatanka! Lex Luger vs. Bastion Booger!

Come As You Are (WWF Superstar) - Superstars recap for January 1, 1994

Before the next match, Quebecer Jacques says he wants to settle something once and for all. He says everyone knows that Lex Luger has a steel plate in his arm, and that he knocked Quebecer Pierre and kept him from participating in Survivor Series. He has some news for Luger: Jacques, Pierre and Johnny Polo have filed a formal complaint, and announces that he will not face Lex Luger until he sees a doctor's note which states that the steel plate has been removed from Luger's right arm. Jacques and Johnny Polo are about to leave, but referees stop them and tell them the match will be happening.

Lex Luger beats Quebecer Jacques. During the match, Lex Luger inadvertently whips Quebecer Jacques into referee Joey Marella, sandwiching him in the corner. Luger goes for the running forearm smash, but Jacques manages to keep the move from happening. Quebecer Pierre shows up, and Johnny Polo drags Jacques out of the ring as Pierre hits Luger with a leg drop. Pierre goes for the pinfall as Johnny Polo wakes Joey Marella up, but Luger kicks out. Luger wrestles Pierre anyway, and hits him with the running forearm smash for the win. Jacques gets in the ring to argue with the referee, but Luger manages to hit Jacques with the forearm anyway to get the win for real. After the match, Johnny Polo gets in the ring to argue with Marella, but he also becomes a running forearm smash recipient.

Jim Ross advertises a show at Madison Square Garden on January 17th with a triple main event. Yokozuna will also defend the WWF Championship against Tatanka. We hear from Mr. Fuji and Jim Cornette, who mocks Tatanka's vow of revenge and says they will be nothing compared to what he will suffer on the 17th. He says his people felt that pain as he continues to mock their suffering, and says the other people should not be suffering and that they should all get a job because they are unemployed. He then says Tatanka will be out of professional wrestling along with his oath of revenge when Yokozuna squashes him with the Banzai Drop. All the while, Mr. Fuji laughs. We then hear from Tatanka, who says that this is the most important bout of his career, as he is doing this out of revenge and for the WWF Championship. He is the first American, he represents America to the fullest, and he has not forgotten the weeks of pain and suffering that Yokozuna put him through. He tells Yokozuna to prepare himself for battle, because he will inflict suffering upon him and take the WWF Championship away.

Razor Ramon tells us not to smoke.

The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu) beat Mike Khoury and Tim McNeany. As the match begins, we see pre-recorded comments from Afa and The Headshrinkers, where they talk about the upcoming Royal Rumble Match in Samoan.

Rene Rougeau interviews Razor Ramon. He has said it many times: if something happens to his gold chains, something happens to you. He asks Irwin R. Schyster if he knows how long and hard he worked to buy that precious gold, and asks him what a man like him can do to a guy like I.R.S. When asked about Shawn Michaels hitting him with The Razor's Edge, Razor Ramon says nobody knows how deadly The Razor's Move better than he does, and that is why he uses it. He then tells Irwin . Schyster that where he comes from, it's not how many times you get knocked down, it's how many times you get up. He is up, he is coming to Royal Rumble, and he is bringing the gold that cannot be bought. If Irwin R. Schyster wants it, he will have to fight.

Trevor Jones is honorary ring announcer for the next match.

Bastion Booger beats Tony Roy.

Thurman "Sparky" Plugg is coming soon to the World Wrestling Federation!

"The Rocket" Owen Hart beats Barry Hardy with the Sharpshooter. During the match, we see pre-recorded comments from Owen Hart and Bret "Hit Man" Hart. The opinion poll will close at midnight this Sunday. We then hear from Paul Bearer and The Undertaker. Bearer says 1994 is a brand new year and a time to reflect upon past mistakes, but also a time to look towards the future. Bearer goes on to say that 1994 will be "the year of the casket." The Undertaker says he has made his new year's resolution, and Yokozuna will rest in peace.

Jim Ross re-advertises the January 17th show. Rick Steiner faces Ludvig Borga, and Razor Ramon will defend the WWF Intercontinental Championship against "Double J" Jeff Jarrett. We hear from Jarrett, who says that if Madison Square Garden is Razor's second home, he would hate to see his first, because that is the most dilapidated building he has ever seen in his life. It will be his debut appearance there, and he tells Razor Ramon to get ready, as the Intercontinental Championship will be around his waist. We then hear from Razor Ramon, who says that Madison Square Garden is not only special to him, but to every wrestler who gets goosebumps walking in. He tells Jarrett to step into his den, as he is bringing his gold and his fists, and they will fight.

Next week: Razor Ramon! "Double" Jeff Jarrett! Bret "Hit Man" Hart! Yokozuna in a rare appearance in a handicap match! WWF President Jack Tunney makes his decision as to whether or not Lex Luger will be in the Royal Rumble Match!
