It is announced before the show and at the beginning of the show that Brian Pillman had passed away in hotel room earlier today. At the start of the show, it is announced that there will not be any further updates until tomorrow morning.

The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) tells The Nation of Domination (D'Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, Rocky Maivia) that they are not impressed with how Faarooq injured "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock and tells them that they will face them without a third man.

The Nation of Domination (D'Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, Rocky Maivia) beat The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) after Faarooq distracts Animal. (This match is perhaps the first in which The Rock performs what will be known as the Rock Bottom.)

Sunny and Dok Hendrix announces that they will have post-match interviews with the winners and losers at Badd Blood on Option 5 of the WWF Superstar Line.

It is announced again that Brian Pillman had been found dead in his hotel room in Bloomington, Minnesota, where he had competed the night before. It is also announced that the next match has been made at the last minute

Max Mini and Nova beat Mosaic and Tarantula.

The Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn) beat The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) to win the WWF Tag Team Championships after Uncle Cletus stops Thrasher from saving the match. The Godwinns and Uncle Cletus then go on the attack after the match, and are threatened with being stripped with the titles if they do not get out of the ring, and The Godwinns and Uncle Cletus leave.

Owen Hart interrupts Michael Cole backstage, saying that all "Stone Cold" Steve Austin will be doing is handing the WWF Intercontinental Championship and asking WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaugher and the WWF officials to keep Austin away from him or else there will be a lawsuit.

Jim Ross pays tribute to the rich wrestling history of St. Louis, Missouri by introducing and honoring former three-year NWA World Heavyweight Champion and "Canada's Greatest Athlete" Gene Kiniski, former NWA World Tag Team and three-year NWA World Heavyweight Champion Jack Brisco, former four-year NWA World Heavyweight Champion Dory Funk Jr., seven-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion "Handsome" Harley Race, former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Terry Funk, St. Louis promoter and former NWA President Sam Muchnick and former NWA World Heavyweight Champion (both youngest and oldest ever) Lou Thesz. All of them are honored with awards and plaques in the ring.

Dok Hendrix interviews The Nation of Domination (Faarooq, D'Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, Rocky Maivia). Faarooq does not consider "Stone Cold" Steve Austin a "trump card" and calls him "just another name," and says he will show what The Nation is all about in his match against Owen Hart tonight.

It is announced that there is no foul play involved and the possibility of a drug overdose in Brian Pillman's death, but results will not be forthcoming for another week.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin arrives with the WWF Intercontinental Championship, and rings the bell with a wrench before ripping Vince McMahon's headset off his head to talk trash to both Owen Hart and Faarooq. He spends the match goofing around on a security walkie-talking and forcefully guesting on Spanish and French commentary, with Austin inviting himself to next month's Survivor Series on November 9th.

Owen Hart beats Faarooq to win the WWF Intercontinental Championship and the Intercontinental Championship tournament when Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart shows up and distracts the referee and WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter only for "Stone Cold" Steve Austin to plaster Faarooq in the head with the Intercontinental title.

It is announced that the Flag Match between The Hart Foundation (Bret "The Hit Man" Hart and The British Bulldog) and the team of The Patriot and Vader can be won by capturing the team's own country's flag, by pinfall or by submission.

The Disciples of Apocalypse (Crush, Chainz, Skull, 8-Ball) beat Los Boricuas (Savio Vega, Miguel Perez, Jesus Castillo, Jose Estrada Jr.).

Michael Cole interviews The Hart Foundation (Bret "The Hit Man" Hart and The British Bulldog). Bret says the Americans are dreaming if they think they will lose, and that he and The British Bulldog will prove that they are better than any two Americans in the ring. Bulldog says the Canadian flag will be the only flag flying as they will be victorious tonight.

Dok Hendrix interviews Vader and The Patriot. Patriot says he and The Hart Foundation (Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart) have had their problems, and that he will settle this once and for all. Vader calls Bret's claims of being the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be "a bunch of bullshit" and admits they don't have much in common except that they don't like big-mouthed Canadians trash-talking America. Vader then says that tonight, he and The Patriot will play the pain game.

The Hart Foundation (Bret "The Hit Man" Hart and The British Bulldog) beat Vader and The Patriot in a Flag Match. A fan is seen trying to get in the ring near the end of the match, but he is quickly apprehended by security.

Dok Hendrix interviews Shawn. Shawn says the good news is that the next match is not for the European Championship, but the bad news is that the only way out is through a locked door. Shawn says the only thing that can get him through this is his tenacity and greatness, and the fact that nobody else is crazier than him when it comes to doing something like the Hell In A Cell match.

WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter and a referee check underneath the ring to see if anyone is hiding there. (During the ring entrances, Hunter Hearst Helmsley is addressed as "Triple H" for the first time.)

"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels beats The Undertaker in a Hell In A Cell Match to face Bret "The Hit Man" Hart for the WWF Championship at Survivor Series. During the match, a cameraman inside of the cell is take n out by Shawn, and when WWF Commissioner Sgt Slaughter gets into the cage to check on the cameraman and get him out of there, all hell breaks loose and Shawn and 'Taker fight both outside and on top of the cell before Shawn falls into the English announce table. The deciding factor, however, comes in the form of a masked man in red and black who is accompanied by Paul Bearer. This man, who is the same size as The Undertaker, rips the door to the cell clean off its hinges, attacks the referee and briefly fights 'Taker before putting him in a Tombstone Piledriver. His identity is best described by Vince McMahon's reaction on commentary: "It's gotta be...it's gotta be Kane!" After Kane and Bearer leave, Shawn gets the pinfall after the referee comes to, and Shawn is carried to the back by Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Chyna to end the show.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for September 29, 1997

The show starts with a performance by The Nitro Girls.

We see a video package of Diamond Dallas Page's feud with "Macho Man" Randy Savage.

Diamond Dallas Page beats Buff Bagwell after giving him and Vincent a Diamond Cutter after Bagwell sends Page into referee Mickey Jay, sending him over the ropes temporarily. Raven is seen sitting in the front row during the match, with Stevie Richards seated behind him. After the match, DDP leaves through the crowd and runs into Raven on the way.

It is announced that we will see reports by Mike Tenay from Mexico focused on lucha libre, .

Rey Mysterio Jr. beats El Caliente. After the match, Rey rips the mask off of his opponent to reveal that El Caliente is really Eddie Guerrero.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Giant. The Giant tells Curt Hennig that everyone knows what he did to "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair at War Games, and that it wasn't necessary. He says that a lot of things in life are full-circle deals, and what comes around, goes around. He tells Hennig that payback is hell. After the interview is over and before the show goes to break, Sting is seen in the crowd.

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: Alex Wright! The return of "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit! Diamond Dallas Page! Jeff Jarrett! Rey Mysterio Jr.!

Bill Goldberg beats The Barbarian. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Goldberg again, and shows a picture of Goldberg back when he was a football player. Once again, Goldberg denies Okerlund an interview, but Okerlund's next guest, "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko, is more than happy to oblige. Zbyszko tells him that he has had a talk with Interim WCW Commissioner "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and that they both agreed that him being a referee would be the worst thing to happen to Scott Hall as he would call the match right down the middle and force Hall to wrestle for a living.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Tony Schiavone admits that he regrets walking out on commentary last week and apologizes for his actions then, but he has thought a lot about "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair since then. He then announces that Flair is here and will give a major announcement concerning his career.

Disco Inferno retains the WCW World Television Championship against Juventud Guerrera. Alex Wright is seen at the entrance ramp and heading towards the ring during the match, and he places Juventud Guerrera's foot on the rope to get back at Disco. He then runs into Jacqueline on the way out, then Jacqueline trips up Juventud Guerrera to help Disco get the win. Disco runs away from both Alex Wright and Jacqueline after the match.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth show up. He advises Interim WCW Commissioner "Rowdy" Roddy Piper not to get too creative with his match against Diamond Dallas Page at Halloween Havoc, as he created and wants to kill the monster, and if Piper wants to get involved, it will be on his conscience as he will bury Page right then and there. He says The New World Order is ready to go tonight, and if Sting wants a piece of the madness, he's okay with that as he has what Sting doesn't.

Jeff Jarrett uses the ropes for leverage to beat Steve "Mongo" McMichael after Debra distracts Mongo and slaps him in the face. An angry Mongo chases after Debra after the match. During the match, it is announced that Debra and Mongo have officially separated.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Syxx and Scott Hall show up, the latter supported by crutches. Hall wants to know if everyone is here to see the WCW and nWo, and Syxx says that when you're nWo, you're nWo for life. Hall tells everyone not to worry about him, and if he has to crawl to Las Vegas to take care of Lex Luger at Halloween Havoc, he'll do it. He then says it's the nWo's duty to take care of those who can't cut it, and he tells "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko that if he does anything but call his match down the middle, he'll put him on the shelf with "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

Syxx vs. Chris Jericho ends in a no contest. When Scott Hall torments referee Scott Dickinson as Syxx locks the Buzzkiller on Jericho, "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko shows up and challenges Syxx and Hall. Lex Luger joins Zbyszko, and Hall and Syxx walks away.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair speaks to the fans via telephone. He is grateful that Tony Schiavone addressed his injury and has seen what Curt Hennig did to him at War Games. He has heard what both Schiavone and "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko said last week, and says that nobody should feel sorry for him because he's been there, seen it and done it many times. He thanks Schiavone, but also thanks Hennig for giving him the wake-up call that sometimes athletes need to go to another level and succeed in the future. He admits he was caught off guard and that he paid the price for it at War Games as he was stupid and complacent enough to let it happen. He warns Hennig that the stitches are coming out next week and that he will be right back in his face the day he can be there on Nitro. He also tells "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan that the nWo might as well have driven a truck through his home with Hennig handed him his robe, as their careers have often paralleled each other. He says that nobody can fill his shoes or wear his robe, and that he will be coming back for it and Hogan will rue the day he and Hennig stuck their noses in his business. He then thanks "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit and Steve "Mongo" McMichael for coming into his life, and tells Benoit and Mongo to go their own way as they deserve it, effectively ending The Four Horsemen as he has his own business to take care of and doesn't want Benoit and Mongo to worry about it. He says that the four fingers will be in the air for decades to come and that Benoit and Mongo don't need him to succeed, as he wants them to succeed on their own. He then makes it clear he is coming back, and tells Zbyszko, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Diamond Dallas Page and The Giant to "do it," and also to save some of Hennig for him.

We see footage of a Nitro party from the students of Brown University.

Eric Bischoff shows up. He calls Sting a "human muppet" for showing up after Hogan has called him out for weeks after Hogan got on a private jet to promote Assault on Devil's Island, which will premiere on TNT thanks to him. He then says Sting has made surprise appearances to attack nWo members, and says it is happening because Interim WCW Commissioner is in collusion with Sting, and when Hogan comes back, he will tell him and that it will indeed be the last time Piper gets in a cage with Hogan or anybody, as Hogan will take his leg and ram it down his throat. He tells Sting that if he wants to be a real man, all he has to do is show up at Halloween Havoc, as he and Hogan will be there.

Tony Schiavone congratulates producer Craig Leather and his wife Amy on the birth of their third child, a son named Carl who was born last Thursday. He also congratulates Woody Kierson and his wife Stacy on the birth of their first child, a daughter; as well as Kip Bissell and his wife Rebecca on having a son recently.

Lex Luger beats Wrath with the Torture Rack. It is announced that a match between Jeff Jarrett and Steve "Mongo" McMichael is official for Halloween Havoc.

Eric Bischoff guests on commentary for the next match, and Mike Tenay and "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko leave the commentary table.

The Giant beats Curt Hennig by disqualification after the New World Order interferes. During the match, Hennig gets The Giant up for the Fisherman's suplex, but The Giant kicks out at two. The nWo ends up surrounding The Giant and hitting him in the back with the United States title, then Sting shows up with a baseball and fights off the entire nWo to end the show, much to the anger of Eric Bischoff.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 29, 1997

Vince McMahon interviews "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels in the ring to start the show. Shawn is accompanied by Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Chyna and "Ravishing" Rick Rude. When asked who his benefactor is, Rude says he adheres to strict confidentiality rules and tells Vince that with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin running amok in the World Wrestling Federation, even Vince is in dire need of a serious protection plan and that whether he gets one or not remains to be seen, but reminds him he can pay him now or pay him later. Shawn brags about the attack on The Undertaker last week, then says he doesn't have to get out of Hell In A Cell as he showed everybody last week that the initial outlaws of the WWF - him and Helmsley - "came, saw and kicked the dead man's ass." Helmsley says that the WWF and Vince McMahon have always been afraid of cliques, and says this is one clique he will never break up. He goes on to say he has been sitting back for the last couple of years while Vince and the WWF have "spread their legs like some cheap whore for all the so-called Superstars of the World Wrestling Federation" and that none of them could lace his boots. Instead of waiting for his break, he is now taking it in his hands and there is no stopping them now. He then tells The Undertaker he enjoyed every second of kicking his dead ass all over Madison Square Garden, and the way things are going, both Vince and The Undertaker will be lucky if they make it to the Hell In A Cell, as the ring is now their house and it is now a house of pain. WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter shows up and tells Shawn that 'Taker will be at Badd Blood and wishes Shawn luck that night as he will need it to come out alive. Shawn peeks through the belt and sticks his tongue out at him, and also covers up Helmsley's face with the WWF European Championship as Slaughter speaks to him. Slaughter then tells Helmsley that his luck has run out and that he will face The Undertaker tonight. As Helmsley argues with Slaughter, The Hart Foundation (Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart) shows up. Bret tells Helmsley and Shawn that they have more than The Undertaker to worry about and that they have committed crimes against The Foundation. He tells Shawn and Helmsley that they will suffer for them as they have crossed the line and there is no going back. As they leave, Shawn and Helmsley look towards the TitanTron and then at each other multiple times, refusing to take the Foundation seriously as the two of them begin to develop some more humorous, sophomoric mannerisms.

Vader beats The British Bulldog after the rest of The Hart Foundation (Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, Owen Hart, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart) attack Vader. The Patriot rushes in to make the save, but he suffers the same fate as Vader as Bret puts him in a Figure Four Leg Lock around the ring post. Vader and Patriot are clocked with a Canadian flag and an American flag, respectively.

Ahmed Johnson is accompanied to the ring by "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock and The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) before the next match.

Faarooq beats Ahmed Johnson by disqualification to continue to the finals of the Intercontinental Championship Tournament. Ahmed slams the steel steps into Faarooq, and when the referee tries to stop him, he gets punched, leading to the disqualification. After the match, Ahmed, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock and The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) successfully fight off the rest of The Nation of Domination (D'Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, Rocky Maivia).

Further into Evil Dr. Madman's Lazer Tag Zone, Agent Sable faces The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh).

We see another edition of Brian Pillman's XXX Files, and this time Marlena is with him inside of a bed. He has news for the WWF: the two of them will not fight Dude Love at Badd Blood unless restraints are placed on Goldust, even if Goldust has to be handcuffed to the ring, as Pillman knows Goldust will interfere again. Once he is guaranteed that Goldust is restrained, only then will he face Dude Love.

Dude Love guests on commentary for the next match. It is also announced that Goldust and Marlena will renew their wedding vows next week on Raw.

Goldust beats The Sultan. During the match, Dude Love announces that if he beats Brian Pillman at Badd Blood, Goldust will receive a no-disqualification match against Brian Pillman.

It is announced that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin has entered the building.

The introduction to the show is replayed to signal the start of War Zone.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up to start the second hour. Austin says all he's heard all week is how Vince McMahon has something to say to him, and tells Vince to get in the ring with him. Vince enters the ring, and tells Austin that either he's a certified lunatic or he just doesn't give a damn, and that he doesn't give a damn anymore, either. He allowed WWF officials to be placed in a position of jeopardy just to protect Austin from himself, but it stops right now. Austin tells Vince that if he wants to fire him, then go ahead, as he doesn't care. Vince gives Austin three options: bring the doctor's certificate saying he is medically cleared, return to action if he absolves the WWF of any responsibility in case he gets hurt again, or getting fired. Austin says he would put him in the Stunner again if he wanted to, and says no doctor knows his neck better than he does. He entertains signing a waiver absolving WWF of responsibility before shoving it up Vince's ass. He then threatens to beat Vince's ass worse than it's ever been beaten if Vince fires him, then leaves, but not before giving Vince a heard time again and flipping him off.

Los Boricuas (Jesus Castillo and Jose Estrada, Jr.) beat The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) by disqualification after The Godwinns (Henry O. Godwinn, Phineas I. Godwinn, Uncle Cletus) attack Los Boricuas. The Headbangers retain the WWF Tag Team Championships. The other members of Los Boricuas (Savio Vega and Miguel Perez) rush in to make the save.

Owen Hart shows up with policemen in riot gear, and is also seen wearing a shirt with "Owen 3:16" on the front and "I just broke your neck." on the back. Vince thinks Owen is crazy for wearing such a shirt, and Owens says he can do it again. He says that Faarooq is a great wrestler, but he is confident that he is a better one and the only reason he doesn't hold the Intercontinental Championship is because of his compassion and his stupid mistake, and says that will never again as he wins the title a second time at Badd Blood. He says he knows what kind of lunatic "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and what he is capable of, and says that Austin has ruined his life and he doesn't want it. He says he will beat Faarooq as long as he has a fair shake and Austin isn't around, and demands that the WWF be rid of Austin as he will destroy it. He then says he cannot wait until Badd Blood when he wins the Intercontinental Championship again and Austin is out of the WWF. It is then revealed that Austin is one of the policemen in riot gear, and after Austin hits Owen with the Stone Cold Stunner, the other policemen go after him as he runs into the crowd.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart and The British Bulldog attack The Undertaker as he makes his way to the ring, and The Patriot and Vader rush into to fight Bret and The Bulldog at the entrance ramp. After that brawl makes its way to the back, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and Hunter Hearst Helmsley attack The Undertaker on the ramp until The Undertaker fights back. Helmsley finally has his match with 'Taker, but it doesn't last long as "Ravishing" Rick Rude shows up a few minutes later and hits THe Undertaker in the back with his briefcase. Shawn stomps The Undertaker as Rude pulls a bodybag out of the briefcase. Shawn hits The Undertaker with Sweet Chin Music so that Helmsley, Shawn and Chyna can place The Undertaker in the body bag, but even after it's zipped up, The Undertaker gets up and rips his way out of the bag with his bare hands. Helmsley, Shawn and Chyna try to attack 'Taker again, but to no availas 'Taker chases Shawn to the back only to reveal that there is a red light backstage. Shawn climbs up the TitanTron as 'Taker hits Helmsley with a Tombstone Piledriver on the stage.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for September 22, 1997

Eric Bischoff shows up at the commentary table and tells "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko to keep his nose out of other people's business and that if he ever involves himself in another match like he did at Fall Brawl, he will pay a dear price. Zbyszko tells Bischoff he's a fly on the wall who's about to get swatted, responds with the footage of Bischoff being attacked by The Outsiders (Scott Hall and Kevin Nash) at The Great American Bash 1996 to remind him how much of "a gutless, spineless wimp" Bischoff is and that the nWo will throw him in the garbage again when he has no authority in the company again.

Rey Mysterio Jr. beats Silver King. Raven is seen walking down the stairs to a seat in the front row during the match, and Eddie Guerrero is also seen approaching the ring. After the match Eddie Guerrero tries to get in the ring but is stopped at the apron and confronted by Rey. The referee keeps Rey back, but Rey leaps over him and nails Eddie.

The debuting Bill Goldberg beats Hugh Morrus after Goldberg kicks out of No Laughing Matter and puts him away in quick, powerful fashion, much to the surprise of the commentary team. "Mean" Gene Okerlund tries to interview Goldberg, but Goldberg just walks away, and Okerlund is left as shocked as the commentary team at Goldberg's victory.

Disco Inferno beats Alex Wright after getting an unintentional cover on Wright after a double cross body collision to win the WCW World Television Championship! Raven is seen sitting in the front row during the match. After the match, Jacqueline shows up, brings "Mean" Gene Okerlund with her to the ring, and mentions that she wants to talk to Disco. She mentions that she knows why Disco Inferno has been gone for six months, and Disco says he hasn't got the times. Jacqueline wants to challenge Disco for the title, but Disco says this is too much, especially considering he just won the Television title, and tells her not to push this as he leaves.

Scott Hall and Syxx show up, wanting to know if the people came to see WCW or the nWo. The fans make it clear they were here to see the nWo and that they're nWo "4 life." Scott Hall goes on to say how everyone knows how sweet he and Syxx are, and that it is a fluke that Lex Luger beat him by pinfall as it took the help of "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko for him to do it. Hall says he and Syxx are here to fight, and that he wants Luger right now and not at Halloween Havoc. Luger doesn't appear immediately, when convinces Hall that Luger is scared. He then calls out Zbyszko, and Zbyszko heads to the ring. Hall says Zbyszko is "all bluff and no stuff" and tells him to go back to commentary. He then demands another opponent be brought out from the back, and he gets Hector Garza.

Hector Garza gets a surprise schoolboy pin on Scott Hall when Hall gets cocky and messes with referee Mark Curtis, ripping off his shirt pocket, untucking his shirt and slapping him around. After the match, Hall puts both Garza and Curtis in The Outsider's Edge before "pinning" both of them.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Interim WCW Commissioner "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. Piper says that Scott Hall cried so much after War Games that he thought he would have to build an ark, and tells Hall he may have a point as "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko was not an official referee during that match. He rectifies this by placing Lex Luger and Scott Hall in a match at Halloween Havoc and makes Zbyszko the special guest referee. He also addresses Curt Hennig's actions at War Games, and says that "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair will be out for a while and that "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit has a concussion. He says that WCW wants to ban cage matches as they are inhuman, brutal, and insane, which is why he is fighting "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan in a cage match at Halloween Havoc for the first time in history and hopefully the last, as Piper is intent on finishing Hogan's career. Piper says he has had more cage matches than Brigham Young has had wives, and that he is the man who spent a week at Alcatraz. He plans to slam the cage door on Hogan's head so many times that Hogan will think he is at Grand Central Stage and make Mike Tyson look like a vegetarian as he chews Hogan up from head to toe.

Lee Marshall calls from Worcester, Massachusetts - the site of next week's Nitro - for the 1-800-COLLECT Road Report.

The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian) beat The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) after Meng pins Rick Steiner with the Tongan Death Grip.

Eric Bischoff and "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan show up. Hogan is seen wearing "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair's red robe with the sleeves cut off. Hogan wants to know where Sting is, and says Sting is scared when he doesn't show up immediately. He thanks Curt Hennig for his newest trophy in the form of the Ric Flair robe, then says that Flair is the first old man he's putting out to pasture followed by "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. Bischoff calls Piper out for running roughshod as Interim Commissioner of WCW. Hogan tells Piper that if he thinks he'll make Mike Tyson look like a vegetarian, he'll chew him up all over the ring and hurt him really badly in the steel cage as there is no way Piper will beat him in a cage match.

Before the next match, "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth say they don't think much of Diamond Dallas Page, saying that DDP is walking in Savage's shadow. Savage says that the nWo is currently on a roll and that he's got a present for Curt Hennig later on tonight.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage beats Stevie Richards. At one point, Savage sends Stevie Richards into the steel guardrail in front of Raven, who is still seated in the front row, and Raven answers by standing up. After the match, Raven jumps the guardrail and gets in the ring to stare down with Savage, who pushes the referee away when he tries to talk them both out of fighting each other. Raven goes after Stevie Richards instead and hits him with the Evenflow DDT once again, much to the disbelief of Savage.

Booker T and Jacqueline show up without Stevie Ray before the next match. We find out that Stevie Ray pulled his Achilles tendon a few weeks ago, and Booker T tells he and Jacqueline are more man than Konnan, Scott Norton and Vincent, and that he'll face any one of them tonight. Norton says it's not his problem Stevie Ray is injured and that he signed on for a tag match, and tells him to bring it on.

Booker T beats Konnan and Scott Norton after Vincent gets involved.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Curt Hennig retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Jeff Jarrett after Miss Elizabeth gets on the apron and distracts the referee, allowing "Macho Man" Randy Savage to run in and hand Hennig the title so that he can use it as a weapon against Jarrett. Hennig does just that, then manages to hit his signature Fisherman's suplex pin to retain the title. After the match, Hennig celebrates with the rest of the New World Order. who also attack Jarrett. The show ends with The Giant heading towards the ring, clearing out the nWo.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 22, 1997

WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter forces Faarooq, Kama Mustafa and D'Lo Brown of The Nation of Domination to leave ringside. It is announced that "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock is out of the Intercontinental Championship Tournament due to injury, and that Faarooq has been reinstated into the tournament and has taken Shamrock's slot. It is also noted that "Captain" Lou Albano is taking notes at ringside.

Ahmed Johnson - in his first match back since returning from injury - beats Rocky Maivia to continue to the semi-finals of the Intercontinental Championship Tournament. During the match, Ahmed Johnson accidentally cuts his right hand on the steel steps.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up through the crowd, and says Madison Square Garden can't have a Raw without him and that someone's going to get their ass kicked tonight.

Agent Sable takes on Howard Finkel in a secret Lazer Tag mission to advertise Lazer Tag.

Floyd Patterson, former professional boxer and Chairman of the New York Athletic Commission, is in the audience tonight.

The Undertaker is interviewed in the ring by Vince McMahon. It is announced that the winner between The Undertaker and "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels will face the WWF Champion at Survivor Series. It is also announced that the bottom of the ring will be throughly searched so that nobody sneaks into the match. The Undertaker warns Bret "The Hit Man" Hart that the day will soon be upon him when the reaper comes calling, but before he has his judgement days, Shawn Michaels has his date with destiny. At the Hell In A Cell Match, there is only one way out and it is over his dead body, and The Undertaker tells Shawn that he can never rest in peace, but he sure can enjoy watching Shawn's rotting corpse burn in eternal damnation. Suddenly, Shawn shows up and asks if it's either his imagination or if the WWF is giving him the shaft via the SummerSlam aftermath, the Hell In A Cell Match and now the fact that he has to earn a WWF Championship. He tells The Undertaker he does not lay down for anybody (unless they're a hot mama), and that he's looking for a Garden party and he's in the house. He tells The Undertaker he plans to be step ahead of everyone at the Hell In A Cell Match, and that he will bring the pain and tells 'Taker that all he has to do is show up.

The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) beat The Nation of Domination (Faarooq and Kama Mustafa) by disqualification when D'Lo Brown and Rocky Maivia attack The Legion. Ahmed Johnson - now with his right hand taped up - shows up to make the save, but The Nation of Domination continue to dominate until referees and officials restore order.

We look back at "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka's leap off the top of the steel cage at Madison Square Garden on October 17, 1983.

Before the next match, Brian Pillman shows up with a sling around his left arm as Marlena appears, dressed even more modestly than last time and with a black handbag over her shoulder. He says that today is a dark day for professional wrestling as it has been robbed of a classic battle between himself and Owen Hart, as he broke his arm when he had Marlena squealing like a pig when he slipped and fell in the bathtub. He tells Owen Hart that he has to forfeit, but WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter shows up and wants proof, then tells Pillman to think fast and tosses the microphone to him. Pillman catches the microphone with his left hand, which is still in a sling, revealing that the broken arm is a ruse. Sgt. Slaughter orders them to have their match, or both of them will never wrestle in the WWF again.

During the commercial break, Marlena smacks Owen Hart in the back of the head with her handbag, forcing Owen Hart to fight Brian Pillman and forcing the match to escalate.

Owen Hart beats Brian Pillman by disqualification to continue to the finals of the Intercontinental Championship Tournament after Goldust rushes into the ring, attacks Owen Hart first and goes after Pillman. It is announced that Viewer's Choice will replay One Night Only tomorrow at 8 PM and 11 PM in Canada only, while in America, the show is kept off pay-per-view due to a clause in Bret "The Hit Man" Hart's contract which causes the event to be subsequently released on VHS in that country. Owen dedicates the win to his brother Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, but is then attacked by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. The policemen who have accompanies Owen to the ring scramble and surround Austin, then Vince McMahon gets in the ring and tells Austin to get a hold of himself, saying he knows he's upset he can't compete but tells him not to break the law and that if he competes now, he risks hurting and paralyzing himself. He tells Austin that the WWF will not stand by and let that happen, and that everyone wants to see him compete, but in due time. Austin looks at his watch, then Vince asks Austin if he knows how many people care about him and asks him to just go with it and work within the system. Austin tells Vince that this is all he does for a living, then tells him he'll work within "his stupid little system." He appreciates that everyone cares, then appreciates the fact that Vince can kiss his ass. Austin then hits Vince with a Stone Cold Stunner and flips him off before the police finally arrest him and take him to the back while referees and officials check on Vince.

Jerry "The King" Lawler interviews Rhonda Shear from USA Network's Up All Night, who briefly plugs her show.

Before the next match, Dude Love shows up on the TitanTron, saying Falls Count Anywhere "isn't exactly his bag" and "isn't a love thing." He does know someone who is into this, though: Mankind. Mankind shows up and says that as much as he's dreamed about destroying Hunter Hearst Helmsley, he knows someone who dreams about it even more and can do even worse things than him: Cactus Jack. The third and last face of Mick Foley shows up on the TitanTron, saying Mrs. Foley's baby boy has come home, and comes to the ring with a trash can and a couple of weapons.

We look back on Andre The Giant body slamming Big John Studd at WrestleMania 1 in March 31, 1985 in Madison Square Garden.

"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels shows up with a steel chair, and is about to remind everyone how he became the WWF European Champion at One Night Onlywhen he tells The Undertaker to bring "his dead ass" to the ring and face him like a man. After the commercial break, Shawn is still waiting for him, saying 'Taker is afraid of him. 'Taker finally shows up but notice Hunter Hearst Helmsley - with a bandage around his forehead - coming at him from behind. He attacks Helmsley, but Shawn attacks 'Taker from behind with the steel chair. Chyna and "Ravishing" Rick Rude show up, and all four of them decimate The Undertaker. 'Taker manages to get right back up and grab the steel chair, and Shawn, Helmsley, Rude and Chyna retreat.

Before the next match, Bret says he doesn't give a crap who wins the Hell In A Cell match as he'll face the winner regardless, saying both "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels' and The Undertaker's days are numbered as he has already beaten 'Taker and that Shawn is getting what is coming to him after what he did to The British Bulldog.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart beats Goldust with the Sharpshooter, then refuses to release the hold. "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, who showed up in the middle of the match, runs into the rng and fights Bret, theN Hunter Hearst Helmsley runs in and attacks Bret. Owen Hart rushes in and attacks Helmsley. The British Bulldog limps to the ring and fights Helmsley, then "Ravishing" Rick Rude kicks Bulldog in the back of th eleg. Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, who hasn't been seen since before SummerSlam and with his goatee completely intact, shows up and fights alongside Bret, Owen and The Bulldog, then The Undertaker shows up and choke slams both Bret and Shawn to end the show.

Not shown in the taping for this show is a Triple Threat Match between Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker. Bret "The Hit Man" Hart retains the WWF Championship after The Undertaker hits Shawn with a Tombstone Piledriver only to be dragged out of the ring by "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Chyna and Bret takes advantage by picking the bones off The Undertaker's handiwork.

One Night Only - The Results

Before the next match, Dude Love does his best British accent, saying he and Hunter Hearst Helmsley are in a bit of a row tonight, and that after the match is over, maybe he and Chyna could do a little bit of "groovin'." He also says he's missing two teeth, but they're gone and he doesn't miss them.

The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) retain the WWF Tag Team Championships against Los Boricuas (Savio Vega and Miguel Perez). The Headbangers celebrate with the crowd after the match.

We see an interview from earlier today between Jim Ross and The British Bulldog. Bulldogs says it will be very special to defend the European title in his homeland as his family will be there. His sister Tracy, who has battled cancer twice, will be in the crowd, and he will dedicate the match to her. His mother, father, wife, brother and bodybuilding trainer will also be in the crowd tonight as well. He has dropped about two stone - about 28 pounds - in preparation for the match to match "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels in speed, though Shawn cannot match him in strength. Bulldog then says it will be the biggest match of his career and one of the biggest events he's ever stepped foot in.

The Patriot - who receives a lot of boos from the Birmingham crowd during the match - beats Flash Funk.

The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) says tonight is the biggest event the United Kingdom will ever see as they tell The Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn) they will be going down as they have not forgotten what they have done to them as of late.

Jim Ross interviews "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock in the ring. It is announced that Shamrock suffered internal injuries in his match against Faarooq on Raw and that he will be replaced by Vader in his match against Owen Hart tonight. Shamrock said if it were up to him, he'd be in the dressing room right now, but he has found out that he has a punctured lung, which caused him to cough up blood. He refuses to lie down, and he says he will be back. He thanks the United Kingdom for their ovation, though he is devastated he cannot compete tonight. As he speaks, Rockabilly shows up, saying a doctor wrote him an excuse for a stomachache so he couldn't compete tonight and confronts him for putting him in the ankle lock, saying Shamrock makes his sick. Rockabilly slaps Shamrock, and Shamrock responds by whipping him around the ring before putting him in the ankle lock. A few referees rush in to coerce Shamrock to break the hold, then Shamrock leaves.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart says he still likes to believe in his heart that he's the champion he was years ago and that he has the greatest fans in the UK, and that he doesn't understimate The Undertaker. He plans to fight fire with fire and do the best that he can. He says that The Undertaker is a great wrestler and the hardest fight he'll ever had, but he's not heading into the ring expecting the worst as he has home field advantage. When told that the UK fans don't exactly like him, Bret says that maybe they should start liking him again.

Vader beats Owen Hart after reversing a top rope cross body into a power slam.

The Undertaker tells Bret "The Hit Man" Hart he has only one night to prove to all the world that he deserves to be World Wrestling Federation Champion, as "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels won't be the special guest referee and that he will have to face him one-on-one without someone waiting in the wings to hit him with a chair. He says that Bret may have all the fans across the world convinced he is their savior, he is really a demon and he will expose him as that demon. He recognizes no boundaries; only creatures, of which Bret is not. When the night ends, Bret will prepare to rest in peace.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart beats The Undertaker by disqualification and retains the WWF Championship after Bret's neck is tied up in the ropes and The Undertaker refuses to listen to the referee and keeps attacking Hart. The referee is choke slammed, and as Gerald Brisco, Owen Hart and Dave Hebner try to get Bret free, Brisco gets choke slammed as well.

"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels says he will walk into the ring and become the first Grand Slam winner in the World Wrestling Federation and hold every title there is. He says you haven't seen the showstopper until you see him, and he is on his way to the ring.

Before the next match, The British Bulldog is accompanied on the way to the ring by his sister Tracy.

After constant interference from "Ravishing" Rick Rude, Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Chyna, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels beats The British Bulldog to win the WWF European Championship after ripping the knee brace from British Bulldog's knee, tossing the brace out into the crowd to Diana Hart Smith (who is seen in the second row) and locking in the Figure Four Leg Lock while Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Chyna grab on to Shawn's arms, unbeknownst to the referee. The fans throw trash into the ring as Shawn tells the fans to look at their Grand Slam champion before telling Diana Hart Smith "This is for you" before putting Bulldog in the Figure Four again. Diana jumps over the guardrail and tries to pull Shawn off him, but Chyna pulls Diana off Bulldog. Owen Hart and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart rush into the ring, and Helmsley, Shawn and Chyna retreat before bragging about what they have done and carrying Shawn off to the back.

"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock beats Faarooq to continue to the semi-finals of the Intercontinental Championship tournament despite being in a bad way after a spinebuster from Faarooq and coughing up blood. The Nation of Domination (D'Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, Rocky Maivia) show up after the match and attack Shamrock, but The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) make the save.

It is announced that Goldust is barred from the arena tonight.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin says he does what he wants, when he wants. As for Owen Hart's "big surprise," he says there's no way he can hurt him any more than he already has and that payback is coming to him.

Taka Michinoku beats El Pantera in a Light Heavyweight Division match. It is announced that Scott Putski now has to have surgery after what happened at Ground Zero in his match against "Too Sexy" Brian Christopher.

The Truth Commission (The Commandant, Recon, Sniper, The Interrogator) says the WWF has seen fit to offer them some worthy opponents, and will prove to The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) the superiority of pure military discipline and show them that in war, second place doesn't count.

The Legion of Doom (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) beat The Truth Commission (Recon and Sniper) by disqualification after The Interrogator interferes. "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, now in better condition, makes the save, then The Nation of Domination (Faarooq, D'Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, Rocky Maivia) shows up and attacks Shamrock and The Legion. Officials and referees break up the massive brawl.

Sunny is special guest ring announcer for the next match, and Max Mini tries to get a peek underneath Sunny's dress.

Marlena is seen in a short black dress with slits at the sides at the bottom, black leggings and black heels. She also happens to have a gold arm band, a nose ring and dark red lipstick, a completely different look from her usual long gold dress.

Brian Pillman beats Dude Love by disqualification to continue to the semi-finals of the Intercontinental Championship tournament after Goldust, who is barred from the building, shows up without make-up on and comes out from the crowd to attack Pillman. Referees and officials pin Goldust down quickly. At one point in the match, Marlena tries to head to the back, but Brian Pillman catches her and takes her back to ringside.

The intro to the show plays to signal the start of War Zone.

"Jerry" The King Lawler interviews "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in the ring. Lawler says the way Austin has been treated is a shame and laughs about the Stone Cold Stunner that Jim Ross received at Ground Zero and the Stunner he gave WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter last week, and he hopes that Vince McMahon gets a Stunner as well. Austin tells Jim Ross that he was at the wrong place and at the wrong time, and tells him to stay at commentary so it doesn't happen again. He also says that he won't be bossed around as he does what he wants when he wants, and nobody can stop him. He also says it's a good thing Vince isn't here, as he will dump him on his head. He also tells Owen Hart that he has hell to play, as he can take him right out with a snap of his fingers. As he says that The Hart Foundation (Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog) has Hell to play, they show up. Bret says he has a name for people like him: hosers. He knows the WWF can't stop what Austin is doing every night, but they have had enough. He then brings out a lawyer who has showed up with the Foundation, and sends him to the ring to issue a temporary restraining order which keeps Austin from coming within 100 feet of Owen, and if he breaks the restraining order, he's going to jail. As Jerry "The King" Lawler looks over Austin's shoulder, Austin gives him the Stone Cold Stunner before kicking his crown out of the ring.

Jim Cornette replaces Jerry "The King" Lawler on commentary. Lawler is seen with a neck brace in the physician's room.

The Patriot beats Owen Hart. During he match, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up, but so do the police, and Austin heads to the back during the commercial break. Austin is then seen coming out of the crowd, distracting Owen and tearing up the restraining order to give The Patriot the opportunity to get Owen with a schoolboy for the win. Austin heads back into the crowd, and the police follow suit.

The police are seen looking for "Stone Cold" Steve Austin backstage.

Jim Ross interviews "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels in the ring. Shawn says he has done everything that there is to do in the World Wrestling Federation except for one thing: be the European Champion. He decided to take it upon himself and be the first man in WWF history to ever hold all four titles. As for his Hell In A Cell Match against The Undertaker, desperate times call for desperate measures, and though he may be a desperate man, he feels the powers to be in the WWF are the cause of all this, saying he did a good job as a referee at SummerSlam, only to get placed in a match against The Undertaker. When he had a good match with The Undertaker, he was rewarded with a Hell In A Cell Match. As for whether or not it will be his demise, if he goes down, he's bringing everybody with him and he's going out in a blaze of glory. The Undertaker appears on the TitanTron behind a chain link fence, welcoming Shawn to his own personal hell. He says he can still taste the blood, and says there is no escape as two men enter and only he leaves with Shawn's soul. He says Shawn will pay dearly and that the match will be his final resting place. Shawn tells 'Taker he made him taste his blood once, and he will make him taste it again.

On the WWF Superstar Line: The top 10 names "Stone Cold" Steve Austin wants to put in the Stone Cold Stunner!

This past Saturday at Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mosh of The Headbangers body slammed the Philly Phanatic before the game.

The British Bulldog and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart beat The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh)...almost. Bulldog gets the pin, but Thrasher was the legal man, not Mosh. Suddenly, The British Bulldog pulls an American flag away from a fan and rips the flag off the pole. The detached flag is used to choke out Mosh, but The Patriot and Vader show up and attack Hart and Bulldog to end the show.
