As Joey Styles runs down the card for tonight's show, he is interrupted by "Ravishing" Rick Rude, who is welcomed by chants of "You sold out!" Styles is aware that Rude would destroy him when he mentions that Rude turned his back on ECW at Heatwave and hired himself out as "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michael's insurance policy in the WWF, and tells him that this interview is his before he leaves the ring. Rude tells Styles that he has mistaken him for someone who actually gives a crap about what he thinks, then asks the "fat, out-of-shape, Lauderdale losers" to button their lips, open their eyes and give their utmost respect to the next ECW World Television Champion, "No Gimmicks Needed" Chris Candido, who shows up. ECW Commissioner Todd Gordon shows up and confronts Roode for throwing away a two-year commentator contract so he could be a gun for hire, and while what he does outside of ECW is Rude's business, what he does in ECW is his business. He tells Roode that he is not a certified manager, and gives him the count of ten to leave the ring or Candido is disqualified. Rude says that two months ago, when he was Mr. Nice Guy, it was anything goes and the sky is the limit, but as soon as he wants to be himself, Gordon jerks the chain. Todd Gordon immediately begins the count, and Rude leaves just before the ten count is up. He is escorted to the back by the referees, and Rude says "Fuck you, Gordon!" on the way out.
Tazz retains the ECW World Television Championship against "No Gimmicks Needed" Chris Candido with the Tazmission from the top rope.
It is announced that ECW will return to pay-per-view on November 30th with November To Remember. We also see footage from earlier today before the show went on the air, where Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope) was in the ring with "Mr. Monday Night" Rob Van Dam and Bill Alfonso only to be laid out by Van Dam. Sabu appears and rams a chair into Shaggy's head with a springboard elbow.
Before the next match, Spike Dudley runs in, takes a steel chair and smashes it everywhere.
Bam Bam Bigelow absoluetly destroys Spike Dudley in a rematch from eight days ago, busting his head open and tossing him into the crowd before hitting an over-the-shoulder piledriver and finishing him off with the top rope moonsault. Medical staff tends to Spike Dudley quickly, and Spike Dudley's blood has to be mopped up off the ring.
It is announced that The Sandman will not be able to wrestle to a back injury suffered from Sabu and "Mr. Monday Night" Rob Van Dam, when he made the save for the Insane Clown Posse only only to have a steel chair smacked into his head by Sabu and Van Dam. Even after The Sandman is down, the carnage refuses to cease as both Van Dam and Sabu splash onto Sandman with a steel chair placed on top of his face. We then see footage of an ambulance taking The Sandman to a local hospital.
Before the next match, it is announced that Leif Cassidy's real snow Al Snow, and that Leif Cassidy was the result of what happened after "the marketing geniuses at Titan Towers stuck him in Marty Jannetty's tights" and that he is a 34-year old veteran with 15 years experience and black belts in kenpo, karate and jiu jitsu who has seen and done it all.
"Mr. Monday Night" Rob Van Dam beats Al Snow in a special attractions match contested under Monday Night Wrestling rules after a Van Daminator into a steel chair on Snow.
The Extreme Chopper is now chasing the ambulance carrying The Sandman...which is now being commandeered by The Sandman, who is now trying to make his way back to the War Memorial at Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Lance Wright reports that The Sandman has no idea where he is, and that he was at the James L. Knight Center. The Extreme Chopper will continue to keep tabs on The Sandman as best they can.
Jerry "The King" Lawler has gotten off the phone with Vince McMahon, and says this has to be the darkest day of his career for him to be here tonight. He mentions that Vince McMahon commended him for having the intestinal fortitude to show up alone, but Lawler says the WWF Superstars are with him in spirit. He says The Undertaker wants him to finish "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dramer with a Tombstone Piledriver. Bret "The Hit Man" Hart has called him to tell him to put him in the Sharpshooter, while "Stone Cold" Steve Austin has given him permission to open a can of whupass on Dreamer.
The Dudleys (Buh Buh Ray Dudley, D-Von Dudley, Big Dick Dudley, Sign Guy Dudley), "The Quintessential Studmuffin" Joel Gertner and Wicked Pictures porn actress Jenna Jameson are in the ring as Gertner introduces the Dudleys and makes fun of referee John Finnegan for being bald. He announces that The Gangstas (New Jack and Mustafa) cannot make it tonight due to injury, and they are replaced by USWA Tag Team Champions PG-13 (J.C. Ice and Wolfie Day). J.C. Ice calls The Dudleys' mom a ho because they're "all mixed up," tells Buh Buh Ray that he's so fat that he has to make two trips when he has to haul ass, says Joel Gertner looks like Elvis right before he died and invited Jenna Jameson to his hotel room at the Days Inn after the match if she wants to "ditch the zero and get with the hero."
The Dudleys (Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley) retain the ECW World Tag Team Championships against PG-13 (J.C. Ice and Wolfie D). After the match, J.C. Ice tells The Dudleys may have won the match, but their mother is still a ho.
Lance Wright reports from the Extreme Chopper, which is still following The Sandman, who is still driving the ambulance and is still lost despite buying a carton of cigarettes and an alcoholic beverage at a gas station.
The lights go out and come back on, and Jerry "The King" Lawler is in the ring when they come back on. He tells the people watching from home "who have more money than they have brains" and tells them to watch In Your House: Groud Zero on September 7th where they can see real superstars like Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and The Undertaker instead of "some dope-headed derelicts like the ones you got here." Before he left the WWF, every Superstar told him they admired him coming to "Hardcore Hell" and taking on the ECW single-handedly before once again insisting that Bret, Austin and 'Taker finish off "The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer with their own finishers. He then calls Dreamer "a ball-less wonder" and tells him to come out here and get his ass whipped.
"The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer beats Jerry "The King" Lawler. During the match, the referee is rammed into the corner and knocked out by Lawler. Then, the lights out, and when they come back on, Rick Rude smashes a trash can into Dreamer's head. Dreamer still kicks out after the pinfall, which the referee is barely able to count. The lights go off again, then come back on, and this time Jake "The Snake" Roberts is in the ring. He hits Dreamer with a lariat, then hits him with a DDT. Roberts then says towards the camera "Your god giveth and then taketh away. My god giveth, but he ain't got the balls to do anything else." Lawler extends his hand only to be hit with a lariat as well, yet Lawler falls onto Dreamer and Dreamer still kicks out of the pinfall attempt before Roberts claps and leaves. Dreamer goes for a DDT, then the lights go out for a third time. When the lights come back on this time, Sunny is in the ring, and sprays Tommy in the eyes with hairspray. Beulah McGillicutty attacks Sunny from behind, but Lawler gets her hands on her. He is about to piledriver her, but Tommy has a chair. Lawler uses Beulah as a human shield, but Tommy misses with the chair and Beulah kicks Lawler in the groin before focusing on Sunny. Dreamer then hits the Dreamer DDT on Lawler for the win.
Lance Wright reports from the Extreme Chopper again. This time, The Sandman finds his way to the War Memorial. He gets out of the ambulance and swings his Singapore cane at police officers.
Before the next match, Francine tries to pay off Terry Funk to work with Shane Douglas, but Funk refuses the money by knocking it out of her hands.
"The Franchise" Shane Douglas beats Sabu and Terry Funk in a Three-Way Dance to win the ECW World Heavyweight Championship. During the match, Bill Alfonso tries to help Sabu put Terry Funk through a table by punching Funk in the head, but ECW Commissioner Tod Gordon shows up and punches out Alfonso before choking him out. Shane Douglas grabs Gordon and headbutts him before placing Gordon on the table. Funk places Alfonso on top of Gordon, then Sabu hits a leg drop through the table, sending both men through it. Referee John Finegan gets knocked out as Sabu places a ladder in the corner, and The Sandman finally shows up, using the ladder against Sabu as he he gets revenge for putting him in the hospital at the beginning of the show. Police officers hold The Sandman back, then Sabu leaps off a chair onto the top rope and into The Sandman and the police officers, taking them all out with a springboard dive. Referees, officials and even other wrestlers - even some that weren't on the card - help keep Sandman and Sabu apart. then stick around to see the end of the match. As this all happens, Sabu is pinned, guaranteeing a new ECW World Heavyweight Champion after the match. Dory Funk, Jr. shows up as Francine slaps Terry Funk while Douglas holds him back, and he levels both of them before leaving the ring before chasing Francine to the back. Douglas finally wins it by hitting a belly-to-belly suplex until Funk can't kick out in time. After the match, Francine scurries back into the ring, takes the title, and she and Douglas proceed to whip Funk with the belt before the crowd chants "Bullshit!" Francine and Douglas continue to attack Funk, then "The Quintessential Studmuffin" Joel Gertner and The Dudleys (Buh Buh Ray Dudley, D-Von Dudley, Big Dick Dudley) get in the ring and reminds Douglas he was his personal ring announcer, then tells him to dump his "moderately successful" tag team partners and join him and The Dudleys to create the new Triple Threat. Bam Bam Bigelow and Chris Candido show up, and Douglas, Bigelow and Candido fight the Dudleys. The officials, referees and wrestlers that stuck around until the end get in the ring to break it up. The Triple Threat (Douglas, Bigelow, Candido) leave The Dudleys annihilate everyone else. Balls Mahoney and Axl Rotten rush to the ring with steel chairs, but The Dudleys still overpower them. Terry Funk gets up, but he doesn't fare any better. All of a sudden, The Gangstas' music hits, and New Jack and John Kronus rush in, tossing a trash can full of weapons into the ring and raise hell on The Dudleys. Perry Saturn hobbles to the ring on crutches as quickly as he can. Big Dick Dudley choke slams New Jack and Kronus, but Perry Saturn hits the Bubba Cutter on Big Dick despite having only one good leg, and hits a top rope elbow on Buh Buh Ray. New Jack is seen on the fan cam hitting D-Von in the knee with a chain, and Kronus hits a twisting splash on Big Dick before Axl Rotten hits Buh Buh with a chair and Kronus hits D-Von with a frog splash. After New Jack busts a wooden crutch on the back of D-Von and Kronus hits a somersault leg drop on Buh Buh Ray, the Dudleys are finally out of the ring, but Gertner is back in. He is quickly surrounded and gets nailed, and New Jack hits Gerner in the head with the steel chair before Kronus hits Gerner with the 450 splash to end the show. New Jack celebrates in the ring while Terry Funk, John Kronus, Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney celebrate in the crowd.

The Giant is handed a piece of paper by a police officer outside of the arena before the start of the show.
We see a performance from The Nitro Girls.
Before the next match, The Wolfpack (Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Syxx) say they know everybody here and at home is watching for one reason and one reason only: the New World Order. They then say that they are the best tag team on the planet, and to tell Ted DiBiase to ask The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) why they don't have the tag team titles if they're so good. The Steiner's music plays, but two random wrestlers - Bobby Starr and David Moore - show up instead.
The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) beat Bobby Starr and David Moore. After the match, The Outsiders want someone else, but The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) and Ted DiBiase show up through the scrowd, and The Stiners clear The Outsiders out of the ring.
Meng beats Wrath by pinfall with the Tongan Death Grip. Mortis rushes in to get Meng off of Wrath, but he is quickly joined by The Barbarian. Meng and The Barbarian chase James Vandenberg into the crowd.
This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: Diamond Dallas Page! Curt Hennig! Alex Wright! "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair!
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Ted DiBiase and The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner), who says that they wrestled the best tag team the nWo had to offer despite the raw deal they got and that The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) knew they were beaten on Saturday. They plan to reload and come back at them as they do things their way. DiBiase says they're here to take care of business and will continue to do so, and that on Saturday, The Outsiders were outclassed and had to get themselves disqualified to keep the tag team titles. He then wants an explanation from referee Nick Patrick, noting that Patrick was kicked out of the nWo while he left voluntary. Patrick shows up and says he let the match go as long as he could as The Outsiders kept getting themselves disqualified, and that he stopped the match when they put their hands on him. He then criticized fellow ref Randy Anderson for allowing Lex Luger to be hit with a baseball bat in the main event. DiBiase tells The Outsiders that The Steiners have them where they want them: running scared. He tells them to look over their shoulder, as they're coming.
Eddie Guerrero beats Chris Jericho.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Wright, who calls the crowd losers who are jealous of him because he looks great, is an unbelievable dancer and a fantastic wrestler who is the Cruiserweight champion.
Dean Malenko beats Jeff Jarrett by disqualification after Eddie Guerrero shows up and attacks Malenko. During the match, Jarrett tries to run away, but he is blocked by Steve "Mongo" McMichael. After the match, Mongo shows up and overpowers both Eddie and Jarrett. Malenko and Mongo run into each other, then Malenko attacks Mongo when the latter extends his hand, and sends him out of the ring. Mongo notes that Malenko "is tougher than a nickel steak" and that he respects that.

Hennig neither confirms nor denies that he is a Horseman, but he does have the main event with "Macho Man" Randy Savage tonight. Flair asks Hennig to show him and his men why he deserves to be a Horseman tonight, then The Four Horsemen will head to Clash of the Champions, and asks Hennig to be his partner then. Hennig accepts, but says that doesn't necessarily mean that he is a Horseman.
At the start of the second hour, Eric Bischoff rides out on a motorcyle with Scott Norton before the next match, and pulls out a microphone. He says he told Lex Luger he would pay at Road Wild while Scott Hall, Buff Bagwell, Syxx and Vincent show up, and says that they have a surprise announcement. He congratulates "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan on reclaiming the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) for retaining the WCW World Tag Team Championships as he says the nWo is stronger than ever. Everyone in the ring then wishes a happy birthday to Hogan, who is out shooting a movie in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. They then focus on The Giant, saying that he has gotten his message through the police at the top of the show. It is revealed that the paper The Giant received is a restraining order, and if The Giant gets within 50 feet of him, The Giant will go to jail. He warns "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyzsko that he may be next. He then re-focuses on The Giant as the camera focuses on Buff Bagwell spray painting a black line and "50 FT" on the aisle, and dares The Giant to get a piece of them. The Giant shows up, and WCW Security, James J. Dillon and Zbyzsko try to stop him, but The Giant crosses the line. The police show up, and The Giant has to go to jail. WCW security head Doug Dellinger says handcuffs won't work on The Giant, and The Giant willfully goes to jail without resistance. Meanwhile, Scott Hall creeps up behind Zbyszko and throws a toothpick at him to get a rise out of him.

Last week, WCW wrestlers, both friend and foe, came together as one to celebrate Hogan losing the World title, and calls it a foundation and building point for WCW. He has talked to Randy Anderson and says they are cool to each other, as if Anderson was quick to ring the bell, he would not win the title. Luger says that Randy Anderson did his job as he saw fit and holds no animosity towards him because of it. He then tells the New World Order that WCW is getting their act together, and they're one misstep away from losing what's theirs, and tells Hogan to get a good look at what is standing before him as he has put him in the Torture Rack three times and that he could take the title away from him again quickly.

Suddenly, the audience cheers as Dillon speaks, and Sting is spotted in the rafters before he rappels down into the crowd and makes his way into the ring. Dillon offers him a new contract, and asks him to name the time and place for a match against Syxx. Sting takes the contract, then tears it up and places it in Dillon's jacket. Okerlund asks Sting what he wants. Sting stops, then points into the crowd, who chant "Hogan."

"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels shows up to start tonight's show. It is announced that Shawn will take on Mankind tonight, and Shawn gets everyone up to speed on what's been happening. Shawn says he had a job to do at SummerSlam, and he did it. If WWF doesn't want to step up and take responsibility for what happened and wants to throw it in his lap instead, he's not worried as he's had plenty in his lap before. He says either you're with him or against him. As for Mankind, he had to find out while he was sitting at home watching Superstars because Vince McMahon didn't tell him over the phone. The crowd chants "Shawn is gay," and Shawn responds by asking "Why don't you ask your sister and your mama how gay Shawn is?" He then tells Mankind he'll see him in a few, then invites The Undertaker to watch him smack Mankind around, and if he can beat Mankind, he can beat him. He then says WWF officials have put him on his private hit list, and have the new Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter calling the shot. He tells Slaughter that if he can stick his chin in his business, he's got another thing coming as nobody steals the spotlight and he wants it all. The crowd then chants that Shawn is gay again. Slaughter shows up and tells Shawn that he's listened to what he has to say, and says he's right about him not wanting his chin in his business, but he's going to put it there anyway. He says he's been in the spotlight so many times Shawn couldn't count them all, then tells Shawn that if he thinks he's here to play games, he's wrong. Anything he says, does or decides is for the betterment of the World Wrestling Federation, not Shawn Michaels. As far as Shawn's match with Mankind is concerned, it's time for Shawn to put up or shut up. Shawn tells him that his life is in danger in the WWF, and that he's got a big insurance policy.

After the match, Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter tells Goldust and Marlena to leave, which they do.
The Undertaker tells "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels he will watch his match against Mankind, then tells him that no insurance policy will be necessary at Ground Zero except burial insurance.

When Bret tries to walk down the entrance ramp, Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter shows up and stops Bret, distracting Shamrock and the referee and allowing Owen Hart to place a steel chair in the ring. This, however, backfires when Shamrock catches Owen sneaking up on him and The Patrio slams The British Bulldog into the steel chair.
On the WWF Superstar Line, option 3 has news on why Ahmed Johnson was booted from The Nation of Domination as well as the future of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.
We see footage of Bret "The Hit Man" Hart saying that he is proud to be Canadian right now and that Americans are going to have a harder time accepting that the WWF Champion is not American. We then see footage from Toronto Peason International Airport from last Tuesday where the Canadian fans show their support for Bret as 15,000 fans showed up to see Bret come back from SummerSlam. Bret says that he will carry the WWF Championship with honor for his fans all over the rest of the world.

Before the match, it is announced that the rest of The Nation of Domination and The Disciples of Apocalypse have all been banned from ringside for the match. During the match, it is announced that Ahmed Johnson has re-injured his knee. After the match, Rocky Maivia reveals that he has joined The Nation of Domination when he raises his fist along with Faarooq.

Bret shows up, Canadian flag in hand, and both Bret and The Patriot brawl. The rest of The Hart Foundation (Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, Brian Pillman) show up and gang up on The Patriot, and referees get into the ring before Bret can lock the Sharpshooter onto The Patriot. As The Foundation covers The Patriot with the Canadian flag, Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter shows up to try to restore order.
Mankind tells "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels that he hopes the insurance policy he talks about is life insurance, because when he thinks about him he gets a lump in his throat from emotion. He then says Shawn will have a lump in his throat, too, but instead of emotion, it will be his liver.

It ends up being used as a weapon quickly by "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, which referee Earl Hebner somehow allows. Mankind - now with the garbage bag over his head and shoulders like a poncho - gets the Mandible Claw on Shawn, but Shawn hits him with a low blow.

Road Wild 1997 - The Results
Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) beat Vicious and Delicious (Scott Norton and Buff Bagwell). During the match, Miss Jacqueline - who has not been seen since Kevin Sullivan retired - shows up and stands in Harlem Heat's corner, much to the chagrin of Vincent, and helps Booker T gets the Harlem Side Kick on Scott Norton before crouching down and holding one of Norton's feet down to assure Harlem Heat the win.

After the match, Konnan keeps the hold locked in for a little while longer, then lets go. Medical staff tend to Rey afterward, and have to carry him to the back.

Richards wants Raven to follow him in the trail he paved into WCW, and hands him the contract and a pen. Raven skims through the contract, then spits in Stevie's face and punches him. He tries to punch him again, but Stevie blocks it. Raven tells Stevie he will not abuse him anymore, and walks away.

He has heard what Hogan said at the top of the show, but they will soon get in the ring, and he will give the devil his due by saying he made professional wrestling what it is today, but he will take the WCW World Heavyweight Championship from him tonight.
Syxx beats "The Crippler" Chris Benoit by disqualification after Jeff Jarrett shows up and attacks Benoit. Steve "Mongo" McMichael rushes in and makes the save for Benoit, then Dean Malenko runs in and attacks Benoit. Mongo and Benoit end up standing tall in the ring.

Booker T quickly beats Vincent after a clothesline to Vincent from Stevie Ray, then Booker and Stevie Ray beat up Vincent again before tossing him out of the ring.

He knows where to go and how to get there, and he's given 120% in the ring. He says that there is another guy who has 120% in the ring that he has respected as a wrestler than he'd ever believe. He says he's never had a personal issue with Flair, as they both hate "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and "Macho Man" Randy Savage, but he's recently courted Curt Hennig, and he hates Curt Hennig. Now that he believes Flair is making him a Horseman, he won't let Hennig feed him to Flair to keep him from making it to Road Wild. He then tells Flair that Flair may have his respect, but he has his number.
Wrath beats The Barbarian. Meng arrives after the match and confronts Wrath. They stare down, but James Vandenberg tells Wrath "not now."
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) in the ring. They suddenly introduce Ted DiBiase, who hasn't been seen in months. Rick tells Okerlund "We got him!" DiBiase announces that he has been on the inside looking out, and now he's on the outside looking in. He said that he grew up in the business and vowed to uphold his dad's name when his father died, but he lost his way after he became The Million Dollar Man. He says that a man pays the price for the decision of his choices, and that he has made bad choices as of late. He doesn't expect The Steiners to accept him on blind faith, and at Road Wild, he promises to help tear down what he built in the New World Order by taking the tag team titles away from The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall). Suddenly, The Outsiders show up. They know The Steiners are good, but they're better and the tag titles prove it. Kevin Nash tells DiBiase that when they said they were nWo for life, they meant it, and DiBiase didn't seem to understand. He calls him a dead man for joining the Steiners, but DiBiase reminds them he knows them more than anyone else. Nash says they only have DiBiase because they need somebody to read the menus while they're out there on the road. DiBiase promises he will lead The Steiners to victory at Road Wild and bring in new WCW World Tag Team Champions.

Konnan beats Psychosis with the Tequila Sunrise. After the match, Rey Mysterio, Jr. - still on crutches - shows up and gets in the ring, but when Konnan kicks one of Rey's crutches away, Rey smashes the other one across Konnan's back to reveal he's no longer injured. Rey then helps Psychosis out of the ring.
Glacier and "The Cat" Earnest Miller beat Damien and Silver King.
Eric Bischoff shows up. Bischoff says he has no love for The Giant and "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko for what they did to him last week, and brings out "the man who still has not figured how to fill my shoes," James J. Dillon. Dillon shows up, and tells Dillon to tell The Giant that if he ever lays another hand on him, he'll sue him for everything he and his children and grandchildren will ever as per his attorneys. As for Zbyszko, if he ever lays another finger on him, he will take his left foot and kick him right between his eyes. Dillon says he won't have to deliver any messages to Zbyszko, as he heard him loud and clear. Dillon laughs as he leaves.

Diamond Dallas Page beats "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair by disqualification when Curt Hennig tries to interfere with a foreign object. Page stops Hennig and teases using it, but then tosses it to the referee and fights off Flair and Hennig at the same time.
Villano IV and Villano V beat Hector Garza and Lizmark Jr. with a small package on Lizmark Jr. after the Villanos switch places, unbeknownst to the ref who is being warned of this by Garza.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews James J. Dillon in the ring. He says it has been a year since anyone in WCW has talked to Sting, as Sting's loyalties have been questioned by WCW management. Dillon says that he can sympathize with Sting, but it has become clear that Sting is willing to stand behind WCW and that it is a matter of what Sting wants. He has tried every means of communicating with Sting, but nothing has worked and he has not talked to Sting or met with anybody who has. Dillon wishes that Sting would show up and meet him eye-to-eye, as he has an opponent for him. He holds in his hand signed by a free agent, and all it needs is Sting's signature, and he hopes that it has what he wants. All of a sudden, Sting rappels down from the rafters to the aisle and approaches the ring. Dillon pledges to use his power from this point forward to restore the trust between WCW and Sting, and asks him to sign the contract for a match against Curt Hennig. Sting tears the contract up and leaves, and Dillon touches him, which causes Sting to look at him for a second before he heads back to the back.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for August 4, 1997
The Hart Foundation (Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, Brian Pillman) show up to start tonight's show and be interviewed in the ring by Jim Ross. Bret "The Hit Man" Hart says he came to SummerSlam and proved that he is the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be against all odds against The Undertaker and "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels. He says he stuck to his word, but as he sees it, WWF is not sticking to theirs as they have not punished Shawn for supposedly showing favoritism. Bret insists that Shawn favored The Undertaker from start to finish, and the only reason he's WWF Champion is because he's a lot smarter than the both of them. He wants to know what the WWWF is going to do, and wants Shawn out of American wrestling and the WWF, whom he says owes him their word. He calls The Patriot's win last week a fluke due to Shawn's outside interference, and tells The Patriot that he is "a missile with nothing in it" and that he means nothing to him. He then commends The British Bulldog for going into battle with "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, whom he says made a fool of himself and will never get another shot at the European title. As for Brian Pillman, he says the Foundation doesn't wear dresses, as there is a new sheriff is town and Pillman has too much class to lower himself into wearing one. He then calls Owen losing the Intercontinental title "yet another example of American justice," and Owen says he is angry with himself for showing compassion to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and says that he beat himself. He then gloats about hitting Austin with the piledriver that injured Austin's neck, saying he turned Austin into "a crippled freak" and that Austin's career is over and that the only reason Austin won is because he beat himself by showing compassion. He demands Austin return the Intercontinental title to him, or come to the ring and let him beat him up for the belt. We are then introduced to the new Commissioner of the World Wrestling Federation: Sgt. Slaughter. Slaughter shows up and says he is the new sheriff in town, not Bret, and that he makes the rules of the WWF, not him. He immediately makes his first decision as Commissioner: Bret will defend the WWF Championship at In Your House: Ground Zero against The Patrior. When Bret asks who The Patriot beat to get a title shot, Slaughter immediately points at Bret and says "You." Slaughter then tells The British Bulldog he will have another match with Shamrock soon. He also forces Brian Pillman to live up to his agreement and wear a dress tonight or else he will be suspended. He then gives Owen Hart a rematch for the Intercontinental Championship against "Stone Cold" Steve Austin as soon as he is cleared and when Stone Cold says so. Suddenly, Steve Austin shows up, a neck brace in his hand instead of around his neck, and says so. He doesn't care if any doctors have to medically clear him, and he confronts Owen for dropping him on his head, saying Owen was too stupid to cover him when he had the chance. He calls Owen a loser, not because he says so, but because it runs through his veins. He plans to open up a can of whoop-ass and show him what Austin 3:16 means.

We see The Nation of Domination (Faarooq, D'Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, Ahmed Johnson) backstage, as it is announced that Faarooq will take on Savio Vega and Crush in a Triple Threat Match at In Your House: Ground Zero. Faarooq says The Nation of Domination showed up at SummerSlam to prove they mean business and that they are here to stay. He says that Savio Vega and Crush are crazy to take him on in a street fight as he is a product of the streets, and at Ground Zero, they will both accept their ass-whipping like men. He also promises that Kama Mustafa will take care of "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock and that Ahmed Johnson will take care of Chainz from The Disciples of Apocalypse tonight.
Before the next match, Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter shows up and ejects D'Lo Brown, Faarooq and Ahmed Johnson of The Nation of Domination from ringside to ensure the match is fair.
"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock beats Kama Mustafa after Miguel Perez and Jesus Castillo of Los Boricuas show up from out of the crowd and attack Mustafa as the ref is dealing with Shamrock.

Taka Michinoku gets a surprise win on "Too Sexy" Brian Christopher in a Light Heavyweight Division match with a sudden roll-up, handing Christopher his first ever loss in the World Wrestling Federation. Christopher attacks Michinoku after the match as Jerry "The King" Lawler confronts the referee.
Commissioner Sgt. Slaugher shows up at Brian Pillman's locker room and hands him the dress. Pillman refuses, and Sgt. Slaughter ups the ante by telling him that he's wearing the dress every week on Raw until he beats somebody.
Before the next match, Paul Bearer admits he's forgotten more about the business than Chyna will ever know when it is mentioned that Chyna will be the difference maker in the next match, and tells Chyna that he's more of a man than she'll ever be.
Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Vader wrestle to a double count-out. During the match, Chyna dropkicks Paul Bearer, and after the match, Vader throws the steel steps down in frustration.
Before the next match, The Patriot says he's heard Bret "The Hit Man" Hart bad-mouth America, and while he admits that there are things wrong with this country that need to be corrected, he has decided to stand up and take a stand. He calls Hart being America running down America's people the biggest problem of all, and tells Hart to love America or leave it, and if he doesn't want to go back to Canada, he'll take him back there himself. He tells Hart he had the same opportunity as him last week, and at Ground Zero, he'll prove it's not a fluke. He hopes Hart is watching, as Hart will get a taste of what he will do to him then. The Patriot then shows up for his match, and he and his opponent, The Sultan, wave their respective flags; The Patriot with the American flag and The Sultan with the Iranian flag. As soon as The Patriot turns his back, The Sultan attacks The Patriot from behind.
The Patriot beats The Sultan. After the match, The Hart Foundation (Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog) show up, but Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter shows up and forces Owen and The Bulldog to turn back, unbeknownst to Bret. When Bret looks around for Owen and The Bulldog only to see they are nowhere to be found, The Patriot starts a fistfight that referees and officials have to break up.

Vince McMahon interviews "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels in the ring. He tells Vince that it's just like him, Bret "The Hit Man" Hart and the WWF fans to drop what happened last night is lap and not take accountability for themselves and pass the buck because he doesn't give a damn what anybody thinks about him. Shawn says he went out there last night and did the best that he could and called it down the middle. Vince then asks if Shawn is in cahoots with Bret, which Shawn vehemently denies, saying he knew that Vince was a nimrod, but now knows that Vince is "the dumbest son-of-a-bitch I have ever seen in my life." Vince takes offense to that, and Shawn says he's shuttering in his loafers. As 'Taker leaves, the lights turn red instead of the usual blue.

Slaughter and a medical doctor that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is suffering from spinal shock syndrome, which affects his neck, lower brain aspects, upper back muscles and arms. It is strongly recommended that he should not be wrestling, and that he not be competing tonight.
Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter shows up before the next match and ejects the rest of The Nation of Domination and the rest of The Disciples of Apocalypse from ringside.
Ahmed Johnson beasts Chainz when Savio Vega and Jose Estrada, Jr. show up and Savio tries to run away with Chainz' bike, distracting Chainz. After the match, the rest of The Disciples of Apocalypse show up and chase Savio and Jose away, then the rest of The Nation of Domination shows up. As The Nation of Domination raise their fists in the center of the ring, Faarooq suddenly attacks Ahmed and D'Lo Brown and Kama Mustafa follow suit. The Disciples of Apocalypse leap off the apron and head back to the back as The Nation attacks one of their own, much to the shock of commentary. Referees check on Ahmed after The Nation leaves.
The Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn) beat The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) after Thrasher distracts the referee and Henry O. Godwinn reverses a roll-up from Mosh into a roll-up from Phineas I. Godwinn with a Slop Drop.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin then shows up to confront Bret Hart, and as officials and Slaughter try to keep Austin away from Bret, Owen is distracted by what is going on at ringside, allowing Dude Love to win with a schoolboy pin after Austin hits Owen with one of his Slammy Awards. Dude Love then celebrates in the ring with two ladies who were seen at ringside before the match.

Faarooq says The Nation of Domination showed up at SummerSlam to prove they mean business and that they are here to stay. He says that Savio Vega and Crush are crazy to take him on in a street fight as he is a product of the streets, and at Ground Zero, they will both accept their ass-whipping like men. He also promises that Kama Mustafa will take care of "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock and that Ahmed Johnson will take care of Chainz from The Disciples of Apocalypse tonight.
Before the next match, Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter shows up and ejects D'Lo Brown, Faarooq and Ahmed Johnson of The Nation of Domination from ringside to ensure the match is fair.

Commissioner Sgt. Slaugher shows up at Brian Pillman's locker room and hands him the dress. Pillman refuses, and Sgt. Slaughter ups the ante by telling him that he's wearing the dress every week on Raw until he beats somebody.
Before the next match, Paul Bearer admits he's forgotten more about the business than Chyna will ever know when it is mentioned that Chyna will be the difference maker in the next match, and tells Chyna that he's more of a man than she'll ever be.
Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Vader wrestle to a double count-out. During the match, Chyna dropkicks Paul Bearer, and after the match, Vader throws the steel steps down in frustration.
Before the next match, The Patriot says he's heard Bret "The Hit Man" Hart bad-mouth America, and while he admits that there are things wrong with this country that need to be corrected, he has decided to stand up and take a stand. He calls Hart being America running down America's people the biggest problem of all, and tells Hart to love America or leave it, and if he doesn't want to go back to Canada, he'll take him back there himself. He tells Hart he had the same opportunity as him last week, and at Ground Zero, he'll prove it's not a fluke. He hopes Hart is watching, as Hart will get a taste of what he will do to him then. The Patriot then shows up for his match, and he and his opponent, The Sultan, wave their respective flags; The Patriot with the American flag and The Sultan with the Iranian flag. As soon as The Patriot turns his back, The Sultan attacks The Patriot from behind.
The Patriot beats The Sultan. After the match, The Hart Foundation (Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog) show up, but Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter shows up and forces Owen and The Bulldog to turn back, unbeknownst to Bret. When Bret looks around for Owen and The Bulldog only to see they are nowhere to be found, The Patriot starts a fistfight that referees and officials have to break up.

Mankind beats Hunter Hearst Helmsley in a Steel Cage Match by climbing out of the cage just before Chyna can drag Helmsley out. Before Mankind climbs out, he climbs back to the top of the cage, rips his shirt open (to reveal a very crudely drawn heart underneath) then hits an elbow drop from the top of the cage in a tribute to "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka. After the match, Dude Love's theme plays. Mankind taps his foot to the music, then manages to get up.
Todd Pettengill interviews the Governor of New Jersey, Christie Todd Whitman, who is accompanied to the ring by The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) and WWE President Gorilla Monsoon. Whitman is thanked for her efforts to removing the excise taxes on pro wrestling in the state with and awarded an honorary WWF Championship.
Tiger Jeet Singh and his son Tiger Ali Singh are see in the audience.
Earlier today, a WWF beach party took place in The Meadowlands Arena's parking lot, where 20,000 fans were on hand.

Michael does, however, win a $5,000 U.S. savings bond for answering the phone. For another call, Rebecca Cohen from Manchester, Missouri picks #14, which also does not work but gets her the complementary $5,000 U.S. savings bond for trying. Ryan Chadick tries his key, but it doesn't work. (He does, however, get a hug from Sable.) Patrick Stevenson's key does not work, either, and nobody wins the million dollars. This leaves Austin lying for a few moments as the force of the piledriver breaks his neck, but Austin is able to roll-up a cocky Owen Hart with a schoolboy to win the Intercontinental title. Three referees have to help Austin up and to the back, but not before Austin raises the Intercontinentla title in victory.

During the match, it is announced that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin has been taken to a local hospital after his match, and is now having difficulty in walking and has lost feeling in his hands. Also, Paul Bearer makes an appearance as Bret has The Undertaker in a Figure Four Leg Lock, and 'Taker is livid. He eventually attacks Bearer, and two referees show up to escort Bearer back to the back. After this, Brain Pillman and Owen Hart show up to watch the match from ringside only to be ejected when they get beaten up by 'Taker, which sidetracks Shawn to the point that The Undertaker gets angry with him, and Shawn has to remind him that he is the referee in the match. Near the end, Bret hits 'Taker with a steel chair and tosses it to the corner, and Shawn eventually confronts Hart over the chair. Bret says "Fuck you" to Shawn and spits in his face, and Shawn, with the steel chair still in his hands, strikes at Bret with it only for Bret to duck so Shawn accidentally hits The Undertaker in the head with it instead. Shawn, knowing what he has done, makes the three count when Bret makes the pinfall and immediately heads to the back while Bret celebrates alone in the ring before being joined by Owen, Pillman and The British Bulldog.
