Generation NXT - NXT recap for September 5, 2023

Tiffany Stratton retains the NXT Women's Championship against Kiana James after using Kiana James' business bag as a weapon. Tiffany misses and hits the 401K, but when the referee takes the bag out of the ring, Tiffany rakes Kiana's eyes and hits the Prettiest Moonsault Ever to retain. After the match, Becky Lynch congratulates Tiffany Stratton before mentioning that the NXT Women's Championship is the only title she has yet to win, and after Tiffany's appearance at Payback, she says it is time for The Man to come around in NXT. She announces that next week, Becky challenges Tiffany for the NXT Women's Championship.





Backstage, Diamond Mine (Julius Creed, Brutus Creed, Ivy Nile) is back in their gym. Julius says there will be more drama or goofing off, and Brutus says they have invited the whole tag team division to the gym and that it time to get back to the top of the mountain. Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, and Julius thanks them for their help from earlier. Suddenly Edris Enofe and Malik Blade show up wanting a tag team title match. Stacks and D'Angelo decide to stick around, as it will be a long night.

Ilja Dragunov beats Oro Mensah. After the match, Wes Lee shows up and says he has the first shot at Carmelo Hayes, but Dragunov tells him that Carmelo Hayes is his and that he will go through everyone who gets in his way. Wes Lee says he has more heart than Dragunov can handle and that he will go through him to get to the NXT Championship. Carmelo Hayes shows up and says he has talked with Shawn Michaels and has gotten all the advice he has needed to hear. He says there is no asterisk next to his match with Dragunov, saying Dragunov took a risk and he took advantage. He also says Wes Lee can come up with any excuse he wants, but Wes took a risk and he took advantage. He then announces that Wes Lee and Ilja Dragunov will face each other, and the winner will face him at No Mercy for the NXT Championship. He hopes they show mercy on each other, because at No Mercy, he will not.





"Dirty" Dominik Mysterio is seen ripping pages out of a WWE rule book before looking at his purple striped referee shirt in the locker room.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Nathan Frazer, who says that he wants the NXT Heritage Cup back so badly as of late. Frazer says that he did not get to NXT by slowing down and that he will will not start tonight.

Backstage, Jacy Jayne and Thea Hail talk backstage when Gigi Dolin shows up and confronts Jacy for taking advantage of Thea. Blair Davenport shows up and calls Thea Hail a child trying to swim in shark-infested waters. This leads to Gigi Dolin and Blair Davenport arguing, and Thea Hail butts in and says she is a grown woman, not a kid, as she tells Gigi Dolin not to stand up for her. Gigi says she may not know Thea, but show knows Jacy, and says Jacy is not the kind of person Thea should be around. Thea refuses to listen and leaves with Jacy.

Nathan Frazer beats Duke Hudson in Group B of the Global Heritage Invitiational and scores two (2) points, putting him in a three-way tie with Joe Coffey and Duke Hudson. Meta-Four (Noam Dar, Oro Mensah, Lash Legend, Jakara Jackson) are seen watching from a distance during this match as well as tonight's other Global Heritage Invitational match.



At the Diamond Mine gym, Hank Walker and Tank Walker talk with The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) about how well they know each other. Bronco Nima and Lucien Price introduce themselves and say they are here to win and want tag team gold, then Scrypts shows up and says that the streets made Bronco and Lucien and that he can relate to that.

Tyler Bate beats Dabba-Kato after getting him in the airplane spin.



Backstage, Dominik Mysterio meets with Carmelo Hayes and talks about how hard it is to be a champion before heading to the ring to see who he defends his title against next.

Backstage, Lyra Valkyria and Roxanne Perez talk about how tired they are of Dominik Mysterio and Becky Lynch's appearance when Kiana James shows up and shows his displeasure with tonight's loss. Lyra tells Kiana that challenging for the title and winning it are two different things, and Kiana brags about taking the opportunity from Roxanne and her lack of hesitation towards doing it again, which starts a brawl between Kiana and Roxanne.



Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Baron Corbin, who says Bron Breakker and Von Wagner have something to prove and have to prove it to him. He does not care who wins tonight, and that he will enjoy watching both men destroy each other before he picks up the scraps.

In backstage footage from moments ago, Kelly Kincaid interviews Tiffany Stratton, but Tiffany refuses.

Mustafa Ali beats Dragon Lee to become the #1 contender to the NXT North American Championship following a fast count on an O'Connor Roll after Dragon Lee complains to Dominik about the cadence on the pinfall attempt from his sit-out powerbomb. After the match, Mustafa Ali punches Dominik Mysterio in the face, then shakes hands with Dragon Lee before the two of them leave.



Backstage, Ilja Dragunov tells Trick Williams that he meant every word he said about him, but questions Trick's confidence in Carmelo Hayes. Trick says Carmelo can beat Dragunov again, but Dragunov gives him a week to either stop lying to his friend or stop lying to himself.

Backstage, Drew Gulak confronts Myles Borne for meeting with Fallon Henley, Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen behind his back, and he, Charlie Dempsey and Damon Kemp tell him that he is not ready and that next week is his one shot to make an impression.

In backstage footage from last week, Eddy Thorpe says he was ready for Dijak and that Dijak cannot win without take shortcuts, and that he is not done with Dijak yet.

Axiom vs. Butch in Group A of the Global Heritage Invitational ends in a ten-minute time limit draw. Axiom and Butch both earn one point. After the match, Tyler Bate shows up.



In backstage footage from earlier today, Von Wagner is seen apologizing in advance to the announce table for putting Bron Breakker through it. When Mr. Stone shows up, Von Wagner tells him that Breaker is going to get tabled tonight.

Back at the Diamond Mine gym, the entire tag team division is there when Los Lotharios (Humerto Carrillo and Angel Garza) show up wanting the NXT tag team titles. D'Angelo tells them threatening the D'Angelo Family (D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo) is not a good idea, but Angel Garza says he and Humberto Carrillo will claw their way to the tag team titles. When D'Angelo tells Los Lotharios to claw their way out of the room, Garza throws a punch at D'Angelo, starting a brawl between all the tag teams.

Thea Hail beats Gigi Dolin with the Kimura Lock after Blair Davenport attacks Gigi Dolin on the outside as Jacy Jayne distracts the referee.



Backstage, Ivy Nile shows up at a destroyed Diamond Mine gym to see that The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) have never felt better after fighting the rest of the NXT tag team division.



Backstage, Kelani Jordan talks with Lyra Valkyria about her recent loss when Dana Brooke shows up and accuses Lyra of trying to break them up as a team. Lyra says she had no problem with Dana up until now and says she was not teaching Kelani anything, but after she is done with Dana, Kelani may learn to make better friends.

In backstage footage from moments ago, Tiffany Stratton says she has done more in her first two years than Becky Lynch did, and while Becky Lynch may be a star, she is the center of the universe, and her championship is not going anywhere.



Baron Corbin guests on commentary for the next match.

Bron Breakker beats Von Wagner in a no-disqualification match despite Wagner powerbombing Breakker through the announce table. After the match, Breakker attacks Von Wagner with a chair before hitting him in the head with the ring steps, which the show blacks out to censor, ending the show.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for June 13, 2023

In memory of The Iron Shiek, 1942 - 2023.

Mustafa Ali, Tyler Bate and Wes Lee beat Schism (Joe Gacy, Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid) in a six-man tag match. During the match, Wes Lee tags in Tyler Bate, but the referee does not see it. When Schism hits Wes lee with a triple-team powerbomb, a second rush dives in to stop the count and tell the first referee that Tyler Bate is the legal man.



In footage from earlier today, Drew Gulak, Thea Hail and Charlie Dempsey argue about Thea's chances of beating Cora Jade tonight, and Duke Hudson has to tell them to head to the gym so he can grade papers in peace. Afterwards, Duke Hudson tries to get an update on Andre Chase's recovery and admits things are getting a little out of hand as he leaves a message for Andre Chase.



Bron Breakker heads to the ring. Breakker says he must have made some headlines last week when he took out Ilja Dragunov and called out Seth "Freakin'" Rollins, and says he did it to hold everyone accountable for their actions. He says that Dragunov didn't seem like the most intense Superstar when he Speared him through the concrete, and says that Rollins is who he says he is until he locks eyes with him. Breakker then wants to know where Rollins is, then Dragunov shows up with security and referees holding him back. Breakker yells at Dragunov that he is not on his level, then says everyone will be held accountable from this moment on. Rollins then shows up on the TitanTron and tells him that he has to earn a title shot again him, but admits that he likes his bold approach and that it would be nice to go back to where it all started. He then tells Breakker that his challenge is accepted for next week and that the World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line.



We see a vignette for Dana Brooke.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Dana Brooke, who says she has made lemonade out of lemons throughout her career and will work on any brand, and that she is now back home in NXT. Suddenly, Cora Jade shows up and says she would have won the battle royal last week if not for her. Dana says it's not her fault she lost the battle royal, then tells Cora to blame her sense of entitlement and not her for her loss. Cora says she will show Dana how good she is tonight before slapping Dana in the face and running off.



Backstage in the locker room, Wes Lee, Tyler Bate and Mustafa Ali celebrate their victory. After Wes Lee, Tyler Bate and Mustafa Ali briefly talk about the second referee, Mustafa says it is time for a match between Wes Lee and Tyler Bate with himself as special guest referee to ensure a winner. Afterwards, the three of them head to dinner at a vegan restaurant.



Thea Hail beats Cora Jade with the Kimura Lock after the referee stops Cora Jade from hitting Thea Hail with her Kendo stick and Dana Brooke - who shows up soon after the start of the match - takes Cora Jade down behind the referee's back.



Noam Dar is on crutches as The Meta-Four (Noam Dar, Oro Mensah, Lash Legend, Jakara Jackson) head to the ring.

It is announced that a two-week NXT special, "NXT Gold Rush," will start next week. Bron Breakker vs. Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship is next week, and the winner between Baron Corbin and Ilja Dragunov will get a shot at the NXT Championship.

Before the next match, Noam Dar says that he is injured and that Oro Mensah will step up and defend his honor and his NXT Heritage Cup in his place.

Nathan Frazer beats Oro Mensah two falls to one (2-1) to become the NXT Heritage Cup Champion! Frazer scores the first fall with a schoolkid pin with 1:10 (one minute, ten seconds) left in Round 1. Mensah scores the second fall with 1:08 (one minute, eight seconds) left in Round 2 after Jakara Jackson distracts the referee so that Lash Legend can get physically involved on the outside. Frazer scores the third and deciding fall with 32 (thirty-two) seconds left in Round 4 after Valentina Leon and Yulisa Leon stop Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend from interfering again.



We hear from Lyra Valkyria. She says becoming champion does not come easy and that she will keep changing and evolving to soar over the battlefields of NXT and become champion. Meanwhile, Jacy Jayne complains about Lyra, and when Elektra says that Lyra is a great competitor, Jacy says she should know as she eliminated her from the battle royal. Lola Vice suddenly shows up and reminds Jacy that Lyra also eliminated her, and Jacy leaves. Lola says she does not like too many people, but she likes Elektra. Elektra feels the same away about Lola and proposes that they should stick together.



Backstage, Mr. Stone and Von Wagner talk about a successful therapy session. Dijak shows up and tells Mr. Stone to drop Wagner for a real winner, and Mr. Stone tells him he is not interested. On the subject on the picture, Von Wagner says he has not talked about it yet and that he must talk to someone he can trust. When Mr. Stone asks Von Wagner who he trusts, Von Wagner says "You...it's always been you."



Scrypts and Axiom beat Dabba-Kato in a two-on-one handicap match. After the match, Axiom and Scrypts are attacked by Los Lotharios (Humberto Garcia and Angel Garza), who have not been seen on WWE programming for some time.



We see Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo looking at a board of potential suspects regarding who ratted on Tony D'Angelo. He concludes that Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang) ratted on D'Angelo, and that he has to get even, get D'Angelo out and get revenge on Gallus.



Backstage, Duke Hudson congratulates Thea Hail on her accomplishments as of late and standing up for herself, and says she is about to become the youngest NXT Women's Champion in history. He says that he will schedule a pep rally in order to get her and Chase University amped up. Suddenly, Tiffany Stratton tells Thea Hail to use her indoor voice and that while she likes her cute underdog story, Thea will not win. Charlie Dempsey and Drew Gulak then after Tiffany leaves and chew out Duke Hudson for holding a pep rally, but Thea tells them she will see them in the gym.



Malik Blade beats Edris Enofe when both men try to roll each other up and Malik Blade keeps his shoulders up. Hank Walker and Tank Ledger are seen watching the match from ringside, as are Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen. After the match, both men hug after Edris Enofe remembers that Malik Blade's birthday is April 22nd. Booker T then grabs a microphone and tells all three teams that they will be in a Triple Threat Match next week where the winner will compete for the NXT Tag Team Championships the following week. All three teams brawl while Kelly Kincaid interviews Los Lotharios on the balcony. Los Lotharios say that they want a piece of the tag team division and the tag team titles.







Backstage, Damon Kemp argues with the referee for not seeing his foot on the rope. Eddy Thorpe confronts Damon Kemp, who tells Eddy that he got a cheap victory and that even he could see his foot on the rope. Eddy tells him to pick the match he wants for his rematch, and he will be down to face him again in that match. Kemp says he will think about it.

We hear from Blair Davenport, who says that she single-handedly derailed the future of women's wrestling in WWE with all the attacks she committed on Nikkita Lyons, Wendy Choo and Sol Ruca that have made her road to the top easier. After stating that Tatum Paxley is one of the people to get on her good side, she soon sets her sights on Roxanne Perez.



Roxanne Perez beats Tatum Paxley with a Sunset Flip. After the match, Roxanne calls Blair Davenport, saying that Blair has hidden in the shadows for too long attacking the women's division, then says she is not afraid of her, that she is looking for her and that she will hurt her, saying that is not a threat, but "a damn promise."





Backstage, Fallon Henley and Gigi Dolin talk about Kiana James and how neither of them can stand her, and Henley says Kiana is talking about Gigi because she sees her as a threat and tells Gigi to watch her back. Gigi says that Kiana will soon learn not to mess with a reject.



We see a vignette for Bronco Nima and Lucien Price, who are coming soon to NXT.



Baron Corbin beats Ilya Dragunov to become #1 contender for the NXT Championship after Bron Breakker runs into the ring and right into Torpedo Moscow. After the match, Dragunov and Breakker brawl their way to the back while Corbin is attacked from behind by Carmelo Hayes in the ring.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for June 6, 2023

Baron Corbin is seen entering the arena and making his way to the ring. Corbin says that he never thought he would come back to NXT, and when he got the call, he cleaned out his locker, never look back and ascended to the top of Raw and SmackDown, but the call-ups went from coming with talent to coming with ego. He says that the NXT stars of today are entitled and that it makes him sick, especially when they are coming into a stack that he helped build as they went from FCW to selling out smaller arenas. Corbin says today's NXT superstars cannot look him in the eye and give him the respect he deserves, then says that he has control of the next and he will make some of them regret signing a WWE contract due to being soft, weak and not as good as they think they are. He blames Carmelo Hayes for this, then brags about beating him down last week and holding the NXT Championship last week before Ilja Dragunov shows up. Dragunov introduces himself to Baron Corbin and tells him that he is far from soft and has beaten everyone in front of him to the point that he is first in line to the NXT Championship. Corbin chalks this up to "NXT arrogance," but Dragunov does not care who he goes through next and if he has to ravage Corbin's body with pain, so be it. Corbin says that there is a difference between what Dragunov wants and what he gets , but Dragunov says he makes challenges while Corbin makes assumptions and wants to challenge him. Corbin asks him if he wants him after Battleground, and Dragunov shows him a scar Dijak gave him. Corbin tells Dragunov that he will be covered in bruises when he is done with him. Dragunov says he looks forward to that challenge and leaves, then Corbin is attacked from behind by Trick Williams until officials restore order.



In footage from earlier today, Thea Hail comes back from practice with Drew Gulak and Charlie Dempsey when she is met by Duke Hudson. Hudson appreciates the fact that Thea Hail is taking it, but reminds her that she is in a battle royal tonight.

In backstage footage from moments ago, it is revealed that Ilja Dragunov has been attacked backstage by Bron Breakker.



Schism (Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid, Ava Raine) beat Diamond Mine (Julius Creed, Brutus Creed, Ivy Nile) after Ava hits Ivy Nile with her mask behind the referee's back after the referee checks on Jagger Reid after Ivy Nile puts him in the Diamond Chain. During the match, Baron Corbin vs. Trick Williams is announced as official for later tonight.



Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo visits Tony D'Angelo in jail. After finding out that Knuckles is here - and makes a mean steak - and that the guards got Tony a subscription to Peacock, Stacks says anybody could have ratted on Tony, but Tony tells him to follow his gut on Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang). As for how to handle them, it is up to Stacks.



In footage from earlier today, Mr. Stone and Von Wagner see a therapist. Wagner is reluctant after seeing someone leave the office crying, but when he finds out the therapist is a beautiful female instead of the two males that he screamed and yelled at in the recent past, he quickly changes his tune.



Blair Davenport beats Dani Palmer.



Dana Brooke announces outside of the arena that she will be in tonight's women's battle royal tonight and that she will be the last woman standing.



Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Tiffany Stratton, who says that everyone wants a shot at her title and that while the title makes the Superstar, the title has been elevated because of her, and everyone is envious of what she has. She notes that nobody was happy when she won the title, and that things will be the same when she retains. After admitting that Lyra Valkyria is the only person she sees winning tonight's battle royal, she will still retain her championship.

Baron Corbin beats Trick Williams.



It's time for Nathan Frazer Presents Hard Hitting Home Truths. Nathan Frazer talks about the recent happenings at Battleground and last week's show, then says he is not a fan of Noam Dar's new entourage before introducing his new senior international correspondent, Dragon Lee, who is also not a fan. Dragon Lee provides a top five for group names for Noam Dar's new entourage, then Frazer challenges Noam Dar for the Heritage Cup next week. Dragon Lee tells Nathan Frazer he will be in his corner.



Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Mustafa Ali, who says he is a free agent and that the ball is in his court. He says that he will become a champion when Wes Lee shows up and wants to defend his championship against him. Mustafa says he wants to earn his opportunity after facing Joe Gacy tonight, assuming Wes Lee is still champion in the end.



Mustafa Ali beats Joe Gacy. After the match, Ali is attacked by The Dyad (Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid), but Wes Lee and Tyler Bate rush into the ring and make the save, returning the favor from last week.



Backstage, Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen tell Fallon Henley that she has tonight's women's battle royal in the bag. Malik Blade and Edris Enofe then show up mentioning Hank Walker and Tank Ledger's match. They then find out that Briggs and Jensen know each other well when Hank and Tank show up and invite them for drinks. After they all leave, Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang) then show up and says it does not matter if Malik and Edris are on the same page, as they will never beat them for their titles.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Noam Dar and his entourage (Oro Mensah, Jakara Jackson, Lash Legend). Noam Dar says he has to be surrounded by starts and that his entourage is full of "shooting stars." Oro Mensah says that only Noam Dar believed in him and that he is shooting off into a new stratosphere. Jakara says she is here to represent sugar, spice and everything not so nice, and Lash Legend says the camera cannot handle the brightness because they are shining. Noam then says that if Nathan Frazer wants a Heritage Cup match, he should know that he is not losing the Heritage Cup and that there is no stopping "The Meta-Four."



Eddy Thorpe beats Damon Kemp with a German suplex pinfall attempt despite Kemp's right foot being on the rope, which the referee does not see.



Backstage, Gigi Dolin is on the phone talking to her brother about the women's battle royal, then Kiana James shows up and mocks Gigi Dolin as she says that she will lose and that an outcast like her with her background and emotions will never be a champion. Gigi Dolin says she cannot wait to see the look on her face when she sends her over the top rope. Dabba-Kato then walks by them on the way to the ring.

Scrypts beats Dabba-Kato with a schoolkid pin following the distractions by Axiom. After the match, Dabba-Kato attacks Scrypts, then attacks Axiom when he tries to make the save.



Backstage, Joe Gacy is furious with Mustafa Ali, Tyler Bate and Wes Lee's friendship and promises to expose it next week. He then congratulates the rest of Schism (Ava Raine, Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid) for pulling their weight while he fell short and that he must reflect, and Schism tells him they have his back.

Backstage, Mustafa Ali thanks Wes Lee and Tyler Bate for their help. Wes says they were returning the favor, and Tyler says they will tear the roots of The Schism (Joe Gacy, Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid) next week. Mustafa Ali tells Wes and Tyler that there is magic between them and that luck is better than skill, then tells them that everyone wants to see them face off one-on-one. Tyler loves the idea but does not want to ruin their friendship. Wes Lee says he understands and is down for the challenge. Mustafa Ali says they have a six-man tag match next week, and afterwards, they will figure out when Tyler and Wes tear the house down.



Thea Hail last eliminates Cora Jade and Dana Brooke after being absent for a good amount of the match, having not been eliminated, to become #1 contender for the NXT Women's Championship. During the match, Blair Davenport shows up to watch the match, and Tatum Paxley eliminates herself to ally herself with Davenport. After the match, the Chase University student section celebrates with Thea Hail in the ring.





Outside of the arena, Bron Breakker says he attacked Ilja Dragunov because he will not let him spit garbage about how he is the most intense in NXT and that he will hold everyone accountable from top to bottom. He then calls out Seth "Freakin'" Rollins for a match in NXT for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for May 23, 2023

Lyra Valkyria beats Cora Jade to advance to the finals of the NXT Women's Championship Tournament at Battleground. After the match, Cora Jade nails Lyra Valkyria with a cheap shot, then strikes the knee again with her kendo stick.





Backstage, Dijak is attacked by Ilja Dragunov until referees rush in to restore order before Dragunov can crush Dijak under a door.

Dabba-Kato beats Axiom. After the match, Dabba-Kato continues to attack Axiom when all of a sudden, Reggie - now unmasked - suddenly flips into the ring and gets the upper hand on Dabba-Kato to save Axiom. Reggie helps Axiom up, but Axiom wants none of it.





We see camera footage from Tony D'Angelo's police interrogation. As D'Angelo denies he is involved in any part of their ongoing investigation. Suddenly, another officer shows up and states that he has new info regarding D'Angelo, and he and the interrogating officer leave to talk outside of the interrogation room.

We see a video package chronicling the events leading up to Bron Breakker vs. Carmelo Hayes for the NXT Championship at Battleground where Bron Breakker says that he takes offense at passing the torch to someone he is better than and that he has woken up. Bron Breakker then says he is not going to just embarrass Carmelo Hayes in front of friends and family, but to bring out a massacre.

Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang) is in the ring. Joe Coffey says that the card for Battleground is stacked, then Gallus makes light of Tony D'Angelo being detained by the police and state they will not see him for a while. Suddenly, The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) show up and challenge them for the NXT Tag Team Championships at Battleground. Mark Coffey says Gallus is a different animal, but Brutus Creed says Gallus are out of surprises. Wolfgang says that they have had more fights than the Creeds have had hot dinners, but Julius says Gallus has had plenty of dinners and believes they can beat them for the tag titles. This leads to a brawl between Gallus and The Creed Brothers, but Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo shows up and evens the numbers game, helping The Creed Brothers stand on top.



Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Wes Lee. Wes says everyone is looking out for themselves, but he really felt he could trust Tyler. He does not know if he is paranoid or if Joe Gacy has messed with his head, but he knows things have changed. As McKenzie says that Tyler Bate wants to discuss this, Wes Lee does not want anything to with him and leaves. Tyler says the situation does not change how he feels about Wes Lee, but he says Joe Gacy is "a different kind of fish." He then says he has Eddy Thorpe to deal with tonight.



Wes Lee guests on commentary for the next match.

Tyler Bate beats Eddy Thorpe, ending Thorpe's undefeated NXT streak. After the match, Joe Gacy attacks Tyler Bate, and when Wes Lee tries to make the save, he inadvertently punches Tyler before Gacy hits them both with the Upside Down.





McKenzie Mitchell interviews Lyra Valkyria in the trainer's room. Lyra says her leg is swollen, but it does not feel broken. She says she will wait and see what happens with her leg and watch the rest of the semi-finals, then says she wants to take Roxanne on for the NXT Women's Championship.

In footage from moments ago during the commercial break, Wes Lee and Tyler Bate have an argument in the ring.

Nathan Frazer beats Noam Dar after Dragon Lee shows up and mocks Noam Dar talking to the NXT Heritage Cup and Noam Dar confronts him for it.



Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Ilja Draguno in the locker room. Ilja says he will make Dijak feel the pain that awaits him Sunday after the torture he went through, and that Dijak will find out what he means when he says he is "unbeseigbar." Dijak then busts in, and the locker room has to hold both men back.

We see Carmelo Hayes' point of view in a preview of Bron Breakker vs. Carmelo Hayes for the NXT Championship at Battleground. Here, Carmelo heads back home to Boston and spends time there, even having a sports radio interview prior to the match.

Hank Walker beats Tank Ledger. After the match, Bron Breakker slides into the ring and hits both men with a Spear. He then tells Carmelo Hayes he will see him Sunday.





Backstage, The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) are met by Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo. Stacks tells The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile that they will be outnumbered against Gallus and offers to cut a deal where he helps out, but Ivy Nile says they have been burned by people in the past. Stacks takes no offense, and Julius tells Stacks that when they win and Tony D'Angelo gets out, he and D'Angelo will get the first shot.



Gigi Dolin heads to the ring. Gigi says she is not shy about the broken home she came from or she and her brother seeing what addiction looked like from their parents, then says they never knew what a stable family looked like. She thought she found one at Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne) until Jacy Jayne betrayed her, and now she looks forward to ending Jacy. Jacy Jayne then shows up and says that this was the time of their life, then says she ended it because she got tired of carrying Gigi and that she was destined for bigger and better things. As Jacy says she plans to move on and be the one who gets remembered, Gigi says that Jacy just does not want to be remembered as "the third wheel" of Toxic Attraction. Jacy says she embarrassed her in front of her brother, then Gigi says they are one win apiece and proposes a rubber match. Jacy tells Gigi to go ahead and pander to the crowd like she already does, then says she cannot wait to end this once and for all. She then says that next week, they will end this where it all started in a steel cage match. Gigi says that she has no problem wearing her heart on her sleeve because she is "as real as it gets" while Jacy is "a fake ass bitch." Gigi then proposes that the steel cage be weaponized, and Jacy tells Gigi she is on.



In footage from earlier today, Luca Crusifino says that Von Wagner will face legal consequences and that he has no choice but to settle things in the ring, and promises that when Von Wagner steps in the ring, he will regret not settling things outside of court.

We are introduced to the NXT Heritage Cup Championship rules - which are the same as in NXT UK - prior to Dragon Lee vs. Noam Dar for the Heritage Cup at Battleground.



In footage from "NXT Anonymous," Noam Dar asks Oro Mensah for his help, citing his expertise as NXT UK Tag Team Champion. After Oro Mensah refuses and leave, Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson show up, and Jakara tells Noam to kiss the Heritage Cup goodbye.

Luca Crusifino beats Von Wagner by disqualificaton after Crusifino pulls the photo of a baby Von Wagner with stitches around his head out of Mr. Stone's jacket and calls Von Wagner a freak, causing Von Wagner to explode and beat him down between the ropes. After the match, Von Wagner throws Crusifino into the barricade before Mr. Stone stops him from powerbombing Crusifino into the table. Von Wagner then goes ahead and powerbombs Crusifino through the table anyway.





Back in the interrogation room, Tony D'Angelo is arrested.



Tiffany Stratton beats to advance to the finals of the NXT Women's Championship Tournament at Battleground. After the match, as Tiffany Stratton argues with Lyra Valkyria, who has shown up, a hooded person in all-black attacks Roxanne Perez. Afterwards, Dijak shows up, but Ilja Dragunov attacks him and the two men brawl.Dijak signs the "hold harmless" contract on the announce table before fighting security and then Ilja again, then Ilja Dragunov fights back and chops Dijak mulitiple times before sending him over the barricade. Ilja then signs the contract. Ilja then fights security, but Dijak gets the upper hand and grabs the steel steps. Ilja kicks him in the gut before hitting him from above. Referees have to stand between both men as the show ends.







The show ends with a video package of WWE history made throughout the years in Lowell, Massachusetts, where Battleground will take place.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for March 14, 2023

Johnny Gargano heads to the ring to start tonight's show. As the crowd chants "Johnny Wrestling" and "Welcome Home," Johnny Gargano tells the fans to watch his back in case Grayson Waller tries to hit him from behind with a chair, then says he will teach his son to be the best man he can be by finishing what one starts. He says that there is a lot of talk about finishing one's story this WrestleMania season and that he is here to finish his story after it ended on a cliffhanger fifteen months ago downed on the announce table with Grayson Waller above him. He says that he took closure away from him on his last night here, then says he somewhat respects this and that he waited to see what Waller did with his moment, as Tommaso Ciampa was the last person to take him out and he became one of the greatest NXT Champions of all time.Gargano then says that Waller had two opportunities at the NXT Championship, failed at both of them, and whined, cried and complained to the point that he disrespected all of NXT. He says that no matter what brand he is on, NXT is his home. All of a sudden, somebody shows up and tells Gargano that Waller is at his home and bragging about it online. Gargano runs to the back.

In footage from earlier today, Wes Lee is met by Axiom, who says that he will follow him everywhere. Wes Lee says the open challenge is in eight hours, but Axiom says he is willing to do whatever Wes Lee is willing to do. The two of them then get a bite to eat.

In backstage footage from moments ago, Johnny Gargano heads home, and a camera crew follows him.

Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) retain the NXT Tag Team Championships against Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince).



Josh Briggs and Fallon Henley sneak into Kiana James' office. Fallon finds a contract for an NXT Women's Championship qualifying match, then finds out from Kiana's planner that the tag team and dating Brooks Jensen was part of a plan to hide a relationship with someone named Sebastian. Fallon then finds and takes a picture of the card that Kiana hid from Josh Briggs, in which Kiana thanks Sebastian for a wonderful night and morning, then she and Briggs leave.



It is announced by "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels that Roxanne Perez's health is still in question after last week and that there may have to be a new NXT Women's Champion. Starting tonight, there will be a series of qualifying matches with the winners vying for the Women's Championship in a ladder match at Stand & Deliver.



We hear from Dr. Warren Becker, sports medicine physician. He says that Roxanne Perez's blood came back as reassuring and that she is systematically stable, but is is not known yet what causes Roxanne to pass out. He says that tests will be ongoing to investigate the issue further and that is is unknown when Roxanne will return to in-ring action.

Zoey Stark beats Sol Ruca to qualify for the NXT Women's Championship Ladder Match at Stand & Deliver.



We hear from Scrypts, who says that if you give a man a mask, you will see his true face. He says he has seen all sorts of masks, but his gaze is drawn to one man.



Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn beat the team of Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley and the team of Kayden Carter and Katana Chance to become #1 contenders for the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships at Stand & Deliver after Tatum Paxley turns on Ivy Nile, refusing to tag her out and saying they were never a team before attacking her and throwing her into the ring.



Backstage, Bron Breakker is met by Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo. D'Angelo and Stacks ask if they can take Carmelo Hayes out for him. Bron Breakker jokes around with them, but declines and leaves. Afterwards, Tony D'Angelo says it is time to add some gold in the family and aims for the NXT Tag Team Championships.



Ilja Dragunov heads to the ring. Dragunov says his WWE career has been life-changing for him and his family and that they have had opportunities that they never felt would happen, but with every step he has taken, there has been a blemish. He says that JD McDonagh has cut his legs out from under him, and in order to maintain his autonomy, he must get rid of McDonagh once and for all. McDonagh then shows up. McDonagh tells Dragunov not to pretend this would be avoidable, as this never was because they were both two sides to the same time and they are both more alike than they are different. Dragunov says McDonagh is obsessed with him and it will lead to bad things, but McDonagh tells Dragunov that he drove him out of NXT UK and that since then, the both of them has suffered. Dragunov reminds McDonagh that pain makes him feel alive and that he has chosen this life, but McDonagh says that while Dragunov's greatest strength is withstanding pain, it is also why he has no title over his shoulder. He then says that he will never get tired of coming up with new ways to make Dragunov suffer and that it will never end between them, but Dragunov says it will all end next week and there will be nothing but a pile of body parts and a gravestone for McDonagh when he is done. McDonagh says that he looks forward to their symphony of suffering more than Dragunov can imagine, and that it will be hard to watch. He then tries to headbutt Dragunov, but Dragunov avoids it and the two men brawl. The brawl then makes is way backstage, and McDonagh throws Dragunov out of the arena.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince). Kit Wilson says that Stand & Deliver needs them, not the other way around, and that no match can contain their star power. He asks why they should be part of the show and they can be the show, and decide to become the hosts for Stand & Deliver.

Wes Lee runs into the brawl between JD McDonagh and Ilja Dragunov - and briefly brawls with McDonagh when McDonagh hits him when Wes Lee tells him that Dragunov will mess him up - before heading to the ring.

Backstage, Thea Hail and Tyler Date do some yoga, then Andre Chase talks with Duke Hudson. Hudson says he is not over Chase U's win-loss record. Andre Chase says Chase U is more than just a school, but a feeling, a place to prepare for the future and a place to belong, and that is also true for Duke Hudson. As a member of The Schism (Joe Gacy, Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid, Ava Rayne) watches from the background, Andre Chase says that for the first time, Duke Hudson actually cares, and that maybe Chase U has done more for him than anything else in his life. Chase leaves, then the member of The Schism - Ava Rayne - places her mask around the Chase U megaphone.



We see cellphone footage of Grayson Waller near Johnny Gargano's house, then decides to make his way inside.

Backstage, everyone brawls to get a chance at Wes Lee's open challenge. Axiom gets in the ring, but he is attacked by Scrypts. All of a sudden, Wes Lee is attacked by JD McDonagh, who is attacked by Ilja Dragunov. Wes Lee then takes out everyone brawling at ringside and joins in on the brawl.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Dragon Lee. He says that making it into NXT is exciting and the greatest thing in his career, and he plans to be a shining example of lucha libre and show what makes him special.



We see a video package for Apollo Crews vs. Dabba-Kato, which is coming up next.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Jacy Jayne - who is wearing a sling on her right arm - who says that even on her best day, Gigi Dolin is not as good as she is, even if she beat her last week. She also says that Gigi separated her shoulder a minute into the match because she just had to take a shortcut, and she could not even lift her right arm in the match. She says that if Gigi Dolin considers that a victory, then she is more pathetic than she thought she was. Jacy then says that as she is away from NXT, she will think about what Gigi did to her, and when she returns, she will break her heart and her face again.



Dabba-Kato beats Apollo Crews.



We see footage from the NXT Anonymous Twitter account, where "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels tells Wes Lee that he loves him, but that the open challenge is killing him. Wes lee says he wants to prove himself, but Shawn says he does not have to. Wes Lee says he has to, especially after Shawn had to prove himself. Both men then compromise on making a Fatal 5-Way match for the North American Championship, with Wes Lee picking his opponents. Wes Lee says he has to, especially after Shawn had to prove himself when he became WWF Champion. Both men then compromise on making a Fatal 5-Way match for the North American Championship, with Wes Lee picking his opponents.



Backstage, Kiana James tries and fails to call Fallon Henley, then tells Brooks Jensen she will have to go her match tonight alone.

Gigi Dolin beats Kiana James to qualify for the NXT Women's Championship Ladder Match at Stand & Deliver. After the match, Kiana James is attacked by Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn, and they run away when Brooks Jensen runs out to the ring.



Johnny Gargano makes it to his house, but he is attacked by Grayson Waller. Both men brawl, but when Candice LeRae checks on Gargano, Waller hits Gargano with a low blow. Waller snaps a rake in half on Gargano's back, then curb stomps him as Candice LeRae keeps telling Waller to stomp. Waller then says Gargano is not the same man anymore before leaving.



Backstage, Brooks Jensen checks on Kiana James, then Josh Briggs and Fallon Henley shows up. Fallon confronts Kiana about not telling her about the Women's Championship Ladder Match qualifier As both Carmelo and Breakker ask if there should be a moderator for the contract signing, Pretty Deadly show up. Prince says that since they are hosting Stand & Deliver, they might as well host the contract signing.tonight, and Jensen tells Fallon that she and Kiana now have to defend the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships against Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn at Stand & Deliver.



Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams show up for the contract signing for the NXT Championship at Stand & Deliver. Bron Breakker shows up after that. As both Carmelo and Breakker ask if there should be a moderator for the contract signing, Pretty Deadly show up. Prince says that since they are hosting Stand & Deliver, they might as well host the contract signing. Carmelo tells Breakker that he has held the NXT Championship and all that comes with it on his shoulders, then says that at Stand & Deliver, there will be a changing of the guard and that he will take the title further. After Carmelo says that Breakker is coming in second to him, Breakker says that Carmelo made the North American Championship his own because he was not ready for his title, but he does not want the "A-Champ," but the Carmelo who gets the fans on his feet and the one who beat Ricochet.Carmelo then says that the Bron Breakker that breaks through walls and made Tommaso Ciampa tap out, as he cannot deny his greatness. He then says that when Breakker gives his all against him, it will not be good enough, because he is "Him." Breakker believes Carmelo is "Him," but he has to show him that "Him" means something, because if he does, both men will get everything they want, as this will be one of the biggest matches in history. Carmelo says that at Stand & Deliver, he will deliver, and he wants to know that Breakker will do the same. Breakker says that something has to give, then Carmelo signs the contract before saying he is not giving an inch. Bron Breakker signs the contract, then says that neither is he. Breakker and Carmelo shake hands. As both men try to leave the ring, Pretty Deadly say they want drama, and both Breakker and Carmelo put Pretty Deadly through the table before ending the show with a staredown.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for February 7, 2023

We see footage from earlier today of Bayley entering the arena.

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams head to the ring to start tonight's show. Trick Williams says that Vengeance Day will go down as the day that Carmelo Hayes turns Apollo Crews from a man with visions to Stevie Wonder, then Carmelo says it was nothing but net and that he got two straight falls. He says Apollo had the right vision with the wrong person, then says he is everything that he says he is and that he is "Him," and that he has beaten everyone he said he would beat except for one person. Before he can say who that person is, JD McDonagh shows up and tells Carmelo that while he is part of an entitled generation and the coolest man on the roster, he is not meant to hold his jock strap and he is not ready to be NXT Champion or the face of the brand. Carmelo says he must have left a survivor, and McDonagh says that he hurts people and tells Trick to call the hospital ahead of time. Carmelo says they can settle things in the ring, and McDonagh replies "Game...on."



Backstage, Fallon Henley confronts Kiana James for cheating to help them win the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships, then threatens to tell Brooks Jensen about Zack. Suddenly, the two of them get a surprise party for their title win.

We see footage of Grayson Waller confronting "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels during the Vengeance Day post-show media call and being escorted out of the room by Mike Bloom. As a result of this, Grayson Waller has been suspended for one week.

Zoey Stark beats Sol Ruca. After the match, Zoey Stark continues to attack Sol Ruca, but Sol Ruca gets the last word with the Sol Snatcher.



Back at the surprise party for Kiana James and Fallon Henley, Fallon tries to hint about Zack, then Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) shows up looking a mess wanting a tag title shot, then blames Duke Hudson, Andre Chase and Thea Hail for their loss. Andre Chase, still sore from not winning the NXT Tag Team titles, threatens to "kick the shit" out of Pretty Deadly.

Dabba-Kato beats Dante Chen. After the match, Kelly Kincaid interviews Dabba-Kato, who says that Apollo Crews knows what he did and that he is going to drop his ass.



In footage from yesterday, Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre show up as Diamond Mine (Julius Creed, Brutus Creed, Ivy Nile) and Tatum Paxley are in the trainer's room, then accuses Tatum Paxley of attacking Nikkita Lyons, Tatum says she was doing film study with Diamond Mine, but Isla says an innocent person would have just said "no."

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Roxanne Perez, who says she is relieved to retain the NXT Women's Championship at Vengeance Day and is ready for what's next. Kayden Carter and Katana Chance show up complaining about how they were cheated out of the NXT Women's Tag Team titles, then says nobody is talking about this and that Roxanne would not understand because she has no friends. Roxanne says she can make one phone call and prove that she has friends.

Isla Dawn beats Tatum Paxley. After the match, Ivy Nile gets in the ring as Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre surround a downed Tatum Paxley.



We see a video package for Carmelo Hayes vs. JD McDonagh, which is happening next.

An unknown person walks out of a silver Mercedes-Benz outside of the arena.

Carmelo Hayes beats a distracted JD McDonagh with a roll-up after Ilja Dragunov makes his first appearance in some months and takes out Trick Williams. After the match, Dragunov attacks McDonagh further, but McDonagh rolls out of the ring and climbs over the barricade to avoid Torpedo Moscow only for Dragunov to chase right after him.



Backstage, Thea Hail confronts Tiffany Stratton about her TikTok about Chase University, then remembers her essay on John Cena until Tiffany says nobody wants to go to Chase University. Thea Hail mentions Professor Shelby briefly, then says Chase University is all-inclusive and welcoming of anybody. She confronts Tiffany for her self-absorption and tells her to "suck it" before Ava Raine grabs her from behind and drags her off.



Backstage at Fallon Henley and Kiana James' surprise party, Fallon says she has something to say first, but Brooks Jensen says he has something to say: he has a Valentine's Day date with Kiana James. Kiana shows up, then Fallon cannot bear to mention Zack and thanks Jensen and Josh Briggs for the party, then shakes her head at Kiana.



Lyra Valkyria beats Valentina Feroz after Elektra Lopez shows up and passes her brass knuckles to Feroz only for Lyra to lay her out as soon as she turns around.



We see social media diary footage of Wes Lee's trip to Charlotte, North Carolina, the drive to the arena, the trip to the hotel room with his wife Erica, Wes Lee's title retention against Dijak at Vengeance Day, and the backstage aftermath.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Wes Lee when Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo show up asking to be "duly compensated" for their assistance. Wes says there will be an open challenge, and he hopes that the two of them answer it.



We hear from Tyler Bate, who calls out Grayson Waller for being a sore loser after Vengeance Day and disrespecting Shawn Michaels, then says that if Grayson Waller wants to disrespect someone, he can try disrespecting him.



Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo beats Odyssey Jones.



We hear from Indus Sher (Jinder Mahal, Veer Mahaan, Sanga). Jinder Mahal says Sanga and Veer have earned the respect that they have desired. Veer says nobody respected them until they destroyed The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed), and Sanga says The Creed Brothers lost before the bell even rang. Jinder says Indus Sher expect to be respected in America like they are in India, then Veer says they have moved on to other goals. Sanga then says there is no other tag team that can beat Indus Sher. Jinder says phase one is complete, and phase two ends with them draped in gold.



Backstage, Duke Hudson and Andre Chase do not know where Thea Hail is before heading to the ring for the next match.

Backstage, Roxanne Perez says her tag team partner next week is Meiko Satomura.



Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) beat Andre Chase and Duke Hudson after Thea Hail runs out to the ring paranoid and traumatized from her backstage kidnapping. After the match, Gallus is seen on the balcony staring down Pretty Deadly.



Backstage, Drew Gulak talks with Hank Walker. As Hank Walker talks about his new wrestling gear and Wes Lee, Charlie Dempsey shows up and says Gulak is not ready for Wes Lee. Gulak says Walker is ready for him, then Dempsey says he hopes Walker does not take shortcuts like him.

It's time for Ding Dong, Hello! Bayley is wearing a cast on her left arm. Tonight's guests are Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne). Jacy says Gigi screwed her out of the NXT Women's Championship, but Gigi says Roxanne beat her, not Jacy, and that Jacy screwed her. The two of them accuse each other of not being a team player, then proceed to insult each other. When Bayley asks the two of them what they would do if they both went solo, Gigi says she has not thought about it, while Jacy says she wants to go straight to the top. Bayley says that would be easier with a ride-or-die at their side who knows them and has the same goals. Gigi realizes she has alienated herself from the rest of the locker room, and Jacy mentions Damage CTRL's (Bayley, Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky) success on the main roster. Gigi says that she needs someone to have her back, and Jacy gest it and says she goes straight for the jugular when she gets angry. Jacy then says that no matter what happens, Gigi will always be her sister, and Gigi says that she feels the same. Jacy says they can either go their separate ways and see what happens, or have one more run. Jacy and Gigi then entertain facing Damage CTRL for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships, but Bayley reels it back and has Gigi and Jacy hug it out. Gigi and Jacy hug it out, then Jacy raises Gigi's hand. All of a sudden, Jacy superkicks Gigi and says it was always about her, then throws her into the door before kicking her head through it.
