Championship Gold - Championship Wrestling From Memphis recap for January 29, 2022

Dustin Starr interviews Austin Lane at the announce desk. Austin Lane says it is great to be back and that he will main event the greatest event in wrestling history: the Anniversary Show. He then says that he wants K-Toomer in the ring in a match with no disqualifications and no count-outs after what he did to him. "The GunShow" Brett Michaels then shows up for the next match and looks at Austin Lane, then the two men fist bump.

In bonus footage from Grind City Rumble, Jacksyn and Otis Crowley whip each other with the leather straps for losing. When "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock gets in the ring to calm them down, however, The Crowleys turn on him and chase him with the straps.

We hear from Diana Taylor, who says she has been working for almost a year and wants to know if she is good enough to be Memphis Women's Champion. She then says there is only one way to find out.

"The Killer Bae" Heather Monroe retains the Memphis Women's Championship against Diana Taylor.

Backstage, Country Rock (Chris Hayes and Carter Matthews) try to figure out what happened between themselves and Big Jack at the Grind City Rumble. Hayes admits he paid Big Jack to be his friend, then says they have a match, much to Matthews' frustration.

Uncle Mikey guests on commentary (and enters through the door opposite the ones The Skimahorns [Brad and Briar Skimahorn]) for the next match.

The Skimahorns (Brad and Briar Skimahorn) beat Country Rock (Chris Hayes and Carter Matthews) with a schoolkid pin from Briar Skimahorn to Chris Hayes after Hayes is distracted by the sudden appearance of Big Jack. After the match, Big Jack tells Chris Hayes to pay up. Hayes tells Big Jack to give him two days, and when he leaves, Big Jack clotheslines him from behind. After the commercial break, both members of Country Rock are laid out, and Big Jack hits Chris Hayes with a Michinoku Driver before saying that this is what happens when people owe him money.

Backstage, Derrick King and Danny B. Good talk about the Grind City Rumble. As Derrick King mentions that DJ Brown threw him over the top rope, Danny reminds him that Tiger Joe is really whom he should be worried about.

In backstage footage from earlier this week, The Yung GOATs (Zay Washington and Aaron Roberts) reveal they have not been allowed in the WrestleCenter after what happened in the Grind City Rumble. Aaron Roberts says that they will crack The Posse's (Simon and Lil Chris) skulls when they are allowed back.

Backstage, K-Toomer says that he did not get the job done in the Grind City Rumble, and says that if Austin Lane wants to challenge him to fight, then "we gonna bang, and if you die, you die."

Dustin Starr interviews "The Bad Boy" Joey Janela at the announce desk. Janela says it is great to be in this historical wrestling city, saying that the people who sold out the Mid-South Coliseum were a bunch of "garbage human beings." He says that if the Internet were around in 1982, most of them would be cancelled, then says the fans should not be booing him because he is telling the truth and their brains are too small to realize it. He then says that after the match, he will go to B.B. King's Restaurant on Beale Street and urinate in the ice machine.
