Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for January 27, 2022

Laredo Kid beats Blake Christian (formerly known as Trey Baxter in NXT) in the BTI match.

"The Drama King" Matthew Rehwoldt is the new color commentator for the show.

Jake Something beats Chris Bey after catching him out of the air and hitting Into The Void. After the match, The Guerrillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa) show up and attack Jake Something. "Speedball" Mike Bailey runs in and fends them off, then "Switchblade" Jay White runs in and hits Mike Bailey with a snap full nelson suplex. Afterwards, The Guerrillas of Destiny tell The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) that they are here, that they want the Impact World Tag Team Championships and that Impact is their house now.

Honor No More (Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Vincent, PCO, Maria Kanellis-Bennett) is seen in the crowd, where security tries to stop them. After the match, Honor No More is still in the crowd while Willie Mack, Rich Swann, Rhino, Josh Alexander and Chris Sabin are in the ring, with security in the middle. Rhino tells Honor No More that if they want a fight, they will have to go through them. Rhino tells security to let them through, then Scott D'Amore shows up and says Honor No More do not represent anything, much less ROH. He calls Honor No More a bunch of "piece of shit carnies" who want to cause mayhem, but Maria asks D'Amore why they should play by his rules and want an opportunity. After D'Amore says Honor No More is deserving of nothing, Rhino says all they deserve is an ass-kicking. D'Amore then makes a match between the two teams at No Surrender, and if Honor No More loses, they're gone; if they win, they stay. Sabin then asks why tey can wait when they can havea match right now, and D'Amore sets up a one-on-one match between one member of Impact against one member of Honor No More. PCO climbs over the barricade, and D'Amore makes Sabin vs. PCO official. Sabin says that he will kick PCO's ass tonight, then says his team will beat Honor No More at No Surrender and prove why they are Impact Wrestling.

Backstage, Kaleb with a K - who replaces Tennille Dashwood tonight - talks with Madison Rayne about their match tonight. Madison says the match is about scouting The IInspiration (Jessica McKay and Cassie Lee) to see what she and Tennille are up against, and tells him not to mess it up.

Backstage, Scott D'Amore leads Honor No More (Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Vincent, PCO, Maria Kanellis-Bennett) to a room backstage and makes it their locker room when Cary Silkin shows up. It becomes apparently Cary Silkin does not like anyone in Honor No More, going so far as to say Matt Taven never had any honor.

The IInspiration (Jessica McKay and Cassie Lee) beat The Influence (Kaleb with a K and Madison Rayne) after Cassie Lee reverses a powerbomb from Kaleb into a roll-up.

Backstage, Jake Something thanks "Speedball" Mike Bailey when Ace Austin and Madman Fulton show up. After a brief argument between Jake and Austin due to Jake saying Austin is untrustworthy, Bailey says he can appreciate the help against Bullet Club. As Austin says that they would have to get with management, Gail Kim shows up and makes a match with the four of them against Bullet Club.

We see a vignette for "The Quintessential Diva," who is now identified as Gisele Shaw.

Backstage, The Good Brothers talk with Violent By Design regarding The Guerrillas of Destiny. Eric Young tells them The Guerrillas is their business, but they remind Eric of their business agreement and that Bullet Club is one more team in the way. After Doc Gallows says that they need a lethal shot of violence, Eric Young says violence is what they do best and that their business agreement will continue.

Gail Kim introduces Mickie James to the ring, which is surrounded by the Knockouts Division. Mickie James talks about the history that the division has made recently with their first Ultimate X match and Deonna Purrazzo - who Mickie James admits she respects even if she does not like her - winning the Ring of Honor Women's World Championship. As Mickie James thanks the Knockouts Division for all they have been doing, Deonna Purrazzo says this "state of the division" address is a waste of everyone's time and leaves. Mickie then says she is honored to be in the Royal Rumble as Knockouts Champion. Mickie James says she is in it to win and plans to not only win, but put the Impact Knockouts Championship on the line in a title vs. title match to see who the best in the world is if she does. Chelsea Green says it is when she wins and not if, and asks for the first shot at the title before Tasha Steelz boos Mickie James and Chelsea Green, saying nobody cares what Chelsea wants after having beaten her twice. Tasha says Chelsea is a "non-factor" to her and says that she made history when it mattered and that she will be taking the Knockouts title from Mickie's waist at No Surrender. This soon starts a brawl where Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans fight with Chelsea Green and Mickie James only to get overpowered.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Steve Maclin, who says he does not care about what the record books say about last week and scares Gia Miller off. Security shows up, but Maclin threatens to beat them up when Jonathan Gresham challenges him to a one-on-one match. Maclin tells Gresham that he knows what his answer is.

We see Jordynne Grace's successful Digital Media Championship defense against Kiera Hogan in Terminus Wrestling.

In backstage footage from earlier today, we see the numerous members of the second recruiting class of The Learning Tree.

Brian Myers guests on commentary for the next match.

W. Morrissey beats all nine members of The Learning Tree in a 9-on-1 handicap match. After the match, Brian Myers confronts and hits Morrissey, but when Morrissey goes for a choke slam, Moose shows up and hits him from behind. Moose hits Morrissey with the World title, then The Learning Tree gang up on Morrissey only to be overpowered. Moose then hits Morrissey with a Spear.

Backstage, Raj Singh says that his luck has been down since Shera got injured and Rohit Raju left, but next week, he has a blue chipper in Bhupinder Gujar showing up. John Skyler says nobody cares about Bhupinder and says that time should be dedicated to him, and Raj Singh tells him that he has a match with Bhupinder next week since he already seems to have a problem with him.

In backstage footage from earlier today, JONAH throws Johnny Swinger into a wall, then Swinger is surrounded by Decay (Rosemary, Crazzy Steve, Black Taurus).

JONAH beats Johnny Swinger as Dan Lambert watches from the crowd. After the match, JONAH tosses Johnny Swinger out of the ring, then Decay (Rosemary, Crazzy Steve, Black Taurus) shows up and surround Johnny Swinger again.

PCO beats Chris Sabin after Team Impact gets ejected following Eddie Edwards tripping PCO in response to Mike Bennett tripping Sabin from the outside earlier and after Maria Kanellis-Bennett distracts the referee so Mike Bennett can push Sabin off the top rope in response to Sabin attacking the rest of Honor No More (Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Vincent) for getting physically involved again. After the match, Honor No More attacks Sabin, but the rest of Team Impact shows back up and chases Honor No More out of the ring. Vincent ends up being the last one left in the ring, and Alexander stops him and puts him in an ankle lock until Taven saves him.

Here are all of this week's backstage segments!
