Beach Break - Dynamite recap for February 3, 2021

Chris Jericho and MJF win a tag team battle royal - with Jericho last eliminating Darius Martin with the Judas Effect after inadvertently eliminating Sammy Guevara - to earn a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

We see a vignette for Jade Cargill.

Tony Schiavone interviews Darby Allin and Sting in the ring. Before the interview can get underway, Team Taz (Taz, Hook, "The Machine" Brian Cage, "Absolute" Ricky Starks, Powerhouse Hobbs) is on the video screen. Taz says they are not allowed to enter the building and mentions being fined for "taking out some staffers" last week. Taz tells Darby they will be watching his TNT title match against "The Bad Boy" Joey Janela next week and that they might just get up close and personal. Starks says that if they were allowed in the building, he would stare Sting in the eye and tell him he is not the man he once was and that he will get hurt playing in the jungle before telling Darby good luck as he is going to need it. Sting says that if Team Taz will be there next week, so will he, and he will make sure it is a one-on-one fight. Sting also tells Starks that he needs to take a closer look if he says he does not see "The Icon" anymore.

Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. beats Thunder Rosa with the Lockjaw after sending Rosa head-first into a turnbuckle exposed by Reba.

We see footage from last week where Tony Schiavone interviews "Hangman" Adam Page and Matt Hardy. Hardy says he has no intentions and that Page is his friend, and thinks they could have great chemistry together. Page has agreed to team up, but says he is only in Hardy's dressing room because he was invited and that he is not interested in being part of another tag team. Hardy says he has no ulterior motives and tells Page he has been concerned about him for a while, and says that Chaos Project (Luther and Serpentico) ruining -1's birthday party did not sit well with either of them. He says that the two of them teaming up next week could set things right with The Dark Order. Page agrees to team up for one night only.

We learn more about the AEW Women's Championship Eliminator Tournament. Matches will emanate from both the United States and Japan between sixteen competitors. The Japanese side will feature Aja Kong, Yuka Sakazaki, Veny, Emi Sakura, Ryo Mizunami, Mei Suruga, Rin Kadokura and Maki Itoh, while the American side will feature Serena Deeb, Riho, Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D., Tay Conti, Thunder Rosa, "The Native Beast" Nyla Rose, Anna Jay, and "Legit" Leyla Hirsch.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews Chris Jericho and MJF, who are about to celebrate with the rest of The Inner Circle when Sammy Guevara shows disappointment with Jericho and MJF being number one contenders to the AEW tag team titles. When Jericho calls the elimination of Santana, Ortiz, Jake Hager and Sammy Guevara "collateral damage," Guevara takes exception to this, asking why they are always "collateral damage" before saying he is no sure if they really are all in this together. As Jericho looks for Guevara, MJF has a private conversation with the rest of The Inner Circle after Wardlow kicks the cameraperson out.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews "Superbad" Kip Sabian, Miro and Charles Taylor, but it is cut short when Vickie Guerrero tells Sabian it is time for the wedding. Father James Mitchell is the officiant for the wedding. The wedding of "Superbad" Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford goes as planned with a few humorous touches, then Miro has a toast for the new husband and wife before saying his knowledge, power and viciousness is his present to Sabian before asking what the big gift box in the corner is. When Charles says it is, Miro tears it apart and throws it out of the ring before telling Charles to clean it up. When Charles leaves the ring, he shackles Miro to the bottom rope by the ankle with handcuffs, and when Miro finds out, he is furious. Charles sends Sabian into Penelope, who in turn is knocked into the cake, then attacks both Miro and Sabian only for Miro and Sabian to fight back. Suddenly, Orange Cassidy pops out of the cake. Orange Cassidy then hits Sabian with the Beach Break while Miro is unable to do anything, then he and Charles - now Chuck Taylor again - celebrate with the champagne.

In footage from last Thursday on Inside the NBA on TNT, Shaquille O'Neal accepts "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes' challenge and says that he will wrestle him. Shaquille O'Neal and Jade Cargill vs. "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet will take place on March 3rd on Dynamite.

Lance Archer beats Eddie Kingston in a chaotic lumberjack match after Bear Country (Bear Boulder and Bear Bronson) stop The Butcher and The Blade's interference attempt as The Gunn Club (Billy, Austin and Colten Gunn) distracts the referee. During the match, The Bunny almost becomes a receipient of a Blackout from Archer, but Kingston stops that from happening.

We see a video from FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Tully Blanchard, who have been barred from the tag team battle royal and suspended for one week following their actions against Jurassic Express (Luchasaurus, Marko Stunt, Jungle Boy). Tully Blanchard says everyone is scared of them as of late and asks what it takes to get a title shot, then Dax Harwood says they are not bad men before asking what bad men would do. They then reveal that they have taken Marko Stunt hostage, with Marko tied to a chair with duct tape around his mouth.

We hear from "The Bad Boy" Joey Janela, who says that he and Darby Allin have a history of destroying each other, but next week, the stakes will have never been higher. He says that he is back, and that the future TNT Champion is going to be a bad, bad boy.

Next week: "The Bad Boy" Joey Janela vs. Darby Allin for the AEW TNT Championship! Chris Jericho and MJF vs. The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens)! "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes and Lee Johnson vs. "Pretty" Peter Avalon and Cezar Bononi!

Don Callis guests on commentary for the next match, while PAC and Rey Fenix come out from a side entrance rather than from the back.

Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) beat PAC, Rey Fenix and Jon Moxley. After the match, The Good Brothers continue to beat up Moxley, then Lance Archer runs into the ring and takes out The Good Brothers and Omega. As Moxley is back on his feet, Moxley is attacked by a person in a hooded jacket, who reveals themsleves to be KENTA before hitting Moxley with the GTS.
