Generation NXT - NXT recap for February 12, 2020

Roderick Strong shows up to start tonight's show and says this is between him and Velveteen Dream, who put his wife and son's faces on his wrestling gear when he returned last week. He says that Velveteen Dream made it personal, and says he is ready to hurt him and do something he will not regret. As he demands an apology, Branson Reed shows up and says Dream isn't the only one who has a problem with him. This leads to a impromptu match between Reed and Strong when Reed gets in the ring saying that they are going to fight right now.

Roderick Strong beats Bronson Reed despite Velveteen Dream's lights and ambiance showing up on the stage. After the match, Velveteen Dream shows up and brings up Strong's wife Marina Shafir as he brings up how The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong) tried to take "The Experience" from him. He then asks what it would be like to have something taken from him, and says that if something were to happen to Strong, someone, somewhere would fulfill all of Marina's dreams. Strong storms to the back.

We hear from the BroserWeights (Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne), who go on a road trip to Portland, Oregon with the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic trophy. The car gets towed after Pete Dunne drives on the left side on the road and drives without a license. Matt Riddle says that they will need to regroup if they want to get to Portland.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Angel Garza, who says that he will beat Lio Rush tonight like he did to win the NXT Cruiserweight Championship. Lio Rush shows up and says he's not the same guy from then, and he is better than ever and getting the title back.

Dakota Kai beats Candice LeRae after countering a Garga-No Escape into a roll-up with a grab of the tights. After the match, Dakota Kai attacks Candice LeRae with the ring bell. All of a sudden, Tegano Nox shows up out of the crowd and attacks Dakota, and security and referees swiftly step in.

We see footage from last Sunday of Johnny Gargano and Cameron Grimes arguing.

Johnny Gargano beats Cameron Grimes with the Garga-No Escape in his first match in months.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Adam Cole, who tells Roderick Strong not to worry about Velveteen Dream as he says that he will teach KUSHIDA a lesson tonight before teaching Tommaso Ciampa a lesson on Sunday. He says that the NXT Championship and being the greatest champion is his life, and he will do anything to make sure the title stays over his shoulder.

The BroserWeights (Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne) paddle a swan boat on a lake, much to the chagrin of Pete Dunne. Suddenly, Matt Riddle gets an idea of how to get to Portland, Oregon.

We hear from Robert Stone, who announces that there will be a rematch and re-launch of his brand for Chelsea Green next week.

Next week: Velveteen Dream vs. Roderick Strong!

Lio Rush beats Angel Garza to become #1 contender for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship after countering the Wing Clipper into an inside cradle. After the match, Jordan Devlin meets Lio Rush on the stage and congratulates Rush on his victory before saying he does not fancy his chances next week.

We hear from "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry, who hypes up the NXT North American Championship match between Dominic Dijakovic and Keith Lee.

Bianca Belair quickly beats Santana Garrett. After the match, Belair says Rhea Ripley can keep going to Raw and pretending she is invisible, but come Sunday, she will walk out NXT Women's Champion. Suddenly, Rhea Ripley shows up. Ripley assures Belair that she is not looking past; instead, she is looking right at her and on Sunday, she will go through her. Bianca tries to punch Ripley, and this starts a brawl that quickly ends with a K.O.D. to Ripley.

The BroserWeights (Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne) drag the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic trophy to a plane, with Riddle saying that he knows a guy who helped them get the plane. They then hide in a compartment, as the plane really belongs to Triple H, who climbs into the plane the normal way.

Backstage, Tommaso Ciampa looks back on the day that he relinquished the NXT Championship and admits that he was scared and full of doubt that he would return to the ring and that he had given up his biggest opportunity. Now, he has come full circle, and after pondering the "what if's" for his match against Adam Cole on Sunday for the NXT Championship, he says that a man is most dangerous when he has nothing to lose, and that Cole will find out how true that is.

Adam Cole beats KUSHIDA. After the match, Tommaso Ciampa shows up and has a staredown with Adam Cole.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
