Slamboree 2000 - The Results

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair's team steps out of a tour bus while Eric Bischoff and the rest of the New Blood watch on a monitor backstage.

Before the next match, Tammy Lynn Sytch performs a striptease, but it is soon stopped by the entrance of The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea.

"Hard Knox" Chris Candido retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea. During the match, Tammy Lynn Sytch gets on the apron, mentioning a hurt ankle. Paisley confronts Tammy on the entrance ramp, and the confrontation turns into an incident where Tammy swings a steel chair at Paisley only to accidentally hit The Artist instead. The Artist barely kicks out, and a three-count and playing of entrance music both have to be waved off. Candido then retains after hitting a piledriver followed by a top rope diving headbutt. After the match, Paisley tackles Tammy before hitting Candido with a low blow, then The Artist and Paisley rip Tammy's dress off.

At the start of the next match, Terry Funk is seen looking for "Screamin'" Norman Smiley, and finds him in the men's bathroom. When he breaks open a stall, he finds a man in a baseball catcher's gear, but is soon sprayed with a fire extinguisher from behind by Smiley, revealing that the person in the stall is Smiley's mystery partner.

Terry Funk retains the WCW Hardcore Championship against "Screamin'" Norman Smiley and his mystery partner. During the match, Smiley's mystery partner is revealed to be Ralphus, Chris Jericho's personal security guard from a few years ago. After the match, Smiley and Ralphus do the Wiggle.

Backstage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews David Arquette, who says he came alone tonight, and tells Okerlund not to let his smile fool him as he is scared about tonight's match.

"The Perfect One" Shawn Stasiak beats Curt Hennig with the Hennigplex. During the match, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Lash Laroux and Van Hammer are seen in the front row dressed in different neon-colored fatigues.

Backstage, Vince Russo gets members of The New Blood fired up.

Before the next match, Hugh Morrus says taht from here on in, he does not want to be called Hugh Morrus again, as it was given to him by Eric Bischoff and it was "a brain fart" that made him look stupid. From now on, he asks to be addressed by his real name, Hugh G. Rection; "Captain Rection" for short.

Scott Steiner retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Hugh G. Rection with the Steiner Recliner. After the match, R&B Security and Misfits In Action (Chavo Guerrero Jr., Lash Laroux, Van Hammer) brawl, then Booker T - who was originally scheduled for this match but replaced with Hugh G. Rection due to injury - shows up and beats up Scott Steiner.

Backstage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Chris Kanyon, who says he backed Diamond Dallas Page because he is more like a brother to him. . He says that The New Blood kisses up to Eric Bischoff taught him that making your way through the business is about busting your ass, not kissing it, and he plans to prove tonight that nobody is better than him in his match against Mike Awesome.

Mike Awesome vs. Chris Kanyon ends in a no-contest. During the match, Kevin Nash shows up and fights Mike Awesome just as Awesome is about to powerbomb Chris Kanyon on exposed concrete. Members of The New Blood show up to attack Nash, but "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and Sting run into save Nash. R&B Security then runs in to control everything, but they are easily overpowered.

Before the next match, Vince Russo commands Miss Elizabeth to change her dress - complaining that it looks like a tablecloth as he does - as he tells her she'll want to see the next match.

The Total Package beats Buff Bagwell. During the match, Miss Elizabeth - who is still dressed in the "tablecloth" - pushes Vince Russo's seat backwards and smacks him in the kneecap with a baseball bat. She then heads to the ring with the baseball bat and tries to fight Buff Bagwell with it, but Buff gets the better of her and hits The Total Package with the bat. When Buff stands on the second rope, however, Miss Elizabeth hits Buff with the batt, allowing The Total Package to lock in the Torture Rack for the win. After the match, The Total Package is suddenly attacked with a baseball bat by recent Power Plant graduate and Saturday Night/Worldwide undercard wrestler Chuck Palumbo, who is wearing wrestling gear with the same logo as The Total Package's. He and Buff Bagwell take the boots to The Total Package before Palumbo puts The Total Package in an assisted Torture Rack. After this, Buff Bagwell carries Miss Elizabeth to the back.

Backstage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Shane Douglas, who demands that he be called "The Franchise." Douglas says that seven years of listening to "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair ends tonight when he retires Flair for good.

Before the next match, "The Franchise" Shane Douglas tells the fans that they get the chance to see "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair fall to a better wrestler in himself, and that there is nothing they can do to stop it. When Flair shows up, he tells Douglas that he knows nothing about being a world championship and that he has worked hard with legends to preserve professional wrestling. Tonight, he plans to style and profile as he kicks Douglas' "ECW ass."

"The Franchise" Shane Douglas beats "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. During the match, Buff Bagwell runs out, then a man in a trenchcoat and Sting mask shows up and hits Flair with a baseball bat as he has Douglas in the Figure Four Leg Lock. After the match, Bagwell and Douglas continue to assault Flair with a fist with a chain wrapped around it to Flair's groin. After Buff, Douglas and the man in the Sting mask leaves, Flair tells Vince Russo he is not going anywhere and that he will bring the whole building down on top of him, as Russo owes him five minutes after the interference in the match. Luger shows up and grabs the man in the Sting mask and throws him in the ring with Flair, then Vince Russo shows up, revealing he is not the man in the mask. Russo gets in the ring, then the man in the Sting match hits Flair in the back of the head with a Statue of Liberty figurine. The man in the mask then unmasks to reveal himself to be Ric's son David Flair, then Russo screams "Start the clock!" Russo then proceeds to attack Ric Flair, and David Flair joins in with the baseball bat. Suddenly, Kevin Nash shows up and knees David Flair before kneeing Russo. Before he can go for the Jackknife Power Bomb, however, he is hit from behind with a low blow by Daffney, and Russo hits Nash with the baseball bat. Daffney and David Flair are now part of The New Blood.

Sting beats Vampiro. After the match, Sting returns to the ring when he sees Vampiro get up on the video screen, and he gets back in the ring to lay Vampiro out with a metal pipe.

Backstage, Mike Tenay interviews Diamond Dallas Page and David Arquette. Arquette admits he is scared, even though he looks good. He and DDP agree on following a plan, with DDP telling Arquette that he will do fine if he sticks to it. He tells Arquette to stay out of Jeff Jarrett's way, but to climb to the top and fend off anyone else who gets involved in the Triple Cage Match. He also tells him not to grab the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

Backstage, Kevin Nash is seen looking for Vince Russo.

Backstage, Mike Tenay interviews Kidman. Kidman tells Tenay to stop kiss Hulk Hogan's ass, as he has beaten him three times and proved Hogan to be less than immortal. He says that with Eric Bischoff as special guest referee, he cannot lose. Bischoff says he will call the match down the middle, and says that it will be a great night for Kidman and The New Blood.

Before the next match, special guest referee Eric Bischoff ejects Horace Hogan from the ring.

Hulk Hogan beats Kidman. During the match, special guest referee Eric Bischoff tries to cost Hogan the match, and an attempt to bring a steel chair into the match ends with Hogan taking the chair away from him and hitting Bischoff and Kidman with it. Afterwards, Hogan pulls two tables out from underneath the ring, and Kidman bides his time until he can hit Hogan with a steel chair. Hogan still kicks out, and an attempt to gang up on Hogan by Bischoff and Kidman fails. Hogan powerbombs Bischoff through a table, then pulls a third table out from underneath the ring. Kidman hits Hogan with a low blow and a steel chair shot, then lays Hogan on it before going for a Shooting Star Press. Hogan moves out of the way, and Kidman goes through the table. Horace Hogan shows back up and hits Bischoff's hand on the mat as Hulk Hogan pins Kidman for the win.

Outside of the arena, Vince Russo and Miss Elizabeth try to escape on a tour bus, but find out that The Total Package is in the driver's seat. Russo ends up stealing a Buick Century and driving off in it as Kevin Nash calmly watches.

Backstage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett calls Okerlund a "geriatric slapass," then says he cannot wait to embarrass Diamond Dallas Page and "that 150-pound turd," David Arquette and take the World Heavyweight title back. He says that tonight is a game of "boots and ladders," and that DDP and Arquette will be flossing with his shoelaces when all is said and done.

Jeff Jarrett beats Diamond Dallas Page and David Arquette in a Ready To Rumble Triple Cage Match to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship for the second time. During the match, Mike Awesome climbs onto the second level of the cage and attacks Diamond Dallas Page as Arquette climbs up the triple cage. DDP hits Awesome with a Diamond Cutter after Arquette makes his way to the top of the third cage, and DDP hands Arquette a guitar from the third cage. When DDP and Jarrett climb up to the top of the third cage, Arquette smashes the guitar onto DDP's head, and Arquette and Jarrett before Jarrett takes the World Heavyweight Championship. After the match, Awesome is about to attack DDP again when Chris Kanyon gets on the second cage. Awesome grabs Kanyon and tosses him towards the stage (which in reality puts Kanyon's life at great risk) before celebrating with Jarrett to end the show.
