Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for May 8, 2000

Diamond Dallas Page is seen next to Chris Kanyon at the hospital in footage from earlier today. Eric Bischoff and members of The New Blood show up from the curtain separating the room DDP is in from the room behind him and make fun of what happened last night. DDP fight them off, but the numbers game quickly catches up to him, only leaving when Kimberly tells them it's time to head to the arena. Kimberly then pours the contents of a nearby bedpan onto DDP before telling him he will get a doctor for him.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and other members of The Millionaire's Club are seen entering the arena.

Eric Bischoff and members of The New Blood - which now comprises of David Arquette - show up to start tonight's show. Bischoff says that The New Blood had "one hell of a night" last night, and brags about David Arquette turning on Diamond Dallas Page to join The New Blood and how he was willing to take one for the team to make sure their plan worked and make sure that Arquette won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship so Bischoff could set Diamond Dallas Page up for failure and embarrassment while sticking it to "the morons in this arena" and "the Internet wrestling experts" who thought it was a disgrace to put the World Heavyweight title on Arquette just so he could screw his royalty. Arquette says Kanyon and DDP should have known better than to trust somebody from Hollywood, and says that when he was on the set of Ready To Rumble, he told DDP that he had a dream of becoming a wrestler only for DDP to tell him that he would have gotten hurt. He then brags about being World Heavyweight Champion thanks to Eric Bischoff, then Jeff Jarrett announces that he is "the chosen one" once again. Jarrett tells DDP he could not even beat him on his worst day and that he was so gullible that it was no wonder that Kimberly left him. Suddenly, a white Cadillac is seen at the arena, and Diamond Dallas Page climbs out. Back in the ring, Kimberly says that this is all about her, and Mike Awesome asks DDP how it will feel taking care of Kanyon for the next fifty years before DDP shows up. DDP fights off Mike Awesome and "The Cat" Ernest Miller before getting his hands on Arquette and hitting him with The Diamond Cutter. The numbers game quickly catches up to DDP, but Sting shows up and makes the save for DDP. More members of The New Blood show up, but Kronik (Bryan Adams and Bryan Clark) show up to fight alongside DDP and Sting.

Backstage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Eric Bischoff. Bischoff says he is hot about a lot of things, but if Diamond Dallas Page wants to hit David Arquette with a Diamond Cutter, then he can face Mike Awesome in a Stretcher Match tonight so Awesome can finish the job. As for Sting, he puts him in a match with Jeff Jarrett tonight with the WCW World Heavyweight Championship on the line, much to the irritation of Jarrett.

Backstage, "Screamin'" Norman Smiley tells Ralphus to stop playing around, saying that if they do not beat Terry Funk, they will be fired from the company as per Eric Bischoff.

Before the next match, Terry Funk tells Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo they will never get the Harcore Championship off his "wrinkled old ass" before demanding his challengers be brought out. "Screamin'" Norman Smiley shows up with Ralphus and introduces Ralphus as the man who single-handedly reminded us last night why everyone should "say no to crack." Ralphus is immediately hammered with a steel chair by Funk.

Terry Funk retains the WCW Hardcore Championship against "Screamin'" Norman Smiley and Ralphus after beating both Ralphus and Smiley up with a cooking tray. As per Eric Bischoff, Ralphus and Smiley are fired.

It is announced that Chris Kanyon has suffered severe damage to his C5, C6 and C7 vertebrae, and that he currently cannot walk.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair tells Miss Elizabeth and The Total Package that he must deal with his son David Flair on his own.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair shows up with two wrestling championship belts: the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and a replica of the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. He talks about how in 1978, Terry Funk told him to get to St. Louis, Missouri on Friday night to become a star. He then saw the NWA World title around the waist of Jack Brisco, who told him to keep on working and that it would be his someday. It would not be long until it was around his waist, as it was the one championship that people sacrificed everything for and the best the sport had to offer. He then picks up a replica of the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, and says that all of the notoriety from both titles came to an end when his son David Flair made the mistake of a lifetime by turning on him to join The New Blood. He says he is not mad at David right now, but he wants David to show up and admit that he made a mistake. David Flair shows up with Daffney and Vince Russo, and Russo says they are currently making "Tradition Sucks" T-shirts right now and that he spit in the face of tradition lat night. He then pulls out a list of the people he spit on, which includes Dory Funk, Jr., Jack Brisco, and a host of others, then says he spit square in Ric Flair's eye and David Flair is standing next to the father he never had. Ric tells David that Russo will manipulate him, but David tells Ric he is mad at him. Ric tells David not to air anything personal on television, and tells him to come home with him. Russo stops Ric, and says he sees father vs. son at The Great American Bash. Ric says that will not happen and that David will work from the bottom up just like he did as a man, but and threatens to call Vince McMahon on his cellphone and put David on Raw next Monday night. David walks up to Ric, then Ric confronts Russo after getting his Rolex back from him. Suddenly, David smashes a Statue of Liberty statuette on Ric Flair, knocking him out, before Russo tells Ric they will see him at The Great American Bash.

Before the next match, "The Main Event" Chuck Palumbo mimics The Total Package's entrance routine, then introduces himself as "The Main Event" Chuck Palumbo before mocking The Total Package's introduction. He then tells The Total Package that he is pissed off that The Total Package is still standing after he beat him last night and says he will light him up and give him the beating he should have given last night if he has the guts, saying that "The Main Event" will work him. The Total Package and Miss Elizabeth show up, and The Total Package and Chuck Palumbo go at it. Suddenly, R&B Security show up and grab Miss Elizabeth, but The Total Package notices them and fights them off. Chuck Paluno then hits The Total Package in the back with a muscle flexer before R&B Security grab Miss Elizabeth again and take her away.

The Total Package is put on a stretcher and placed in an ambulance backstage.

Backstage, Vince Russo tells Miss Elizabeth he chose her because she is not like the others and that he is doing something to help her, and tells her that she will live up to her contract and wrestle Daffney in the ring tonight. Russo then tells Miss Elizabeth that if she beats Daffney, he will tear her contract up, but if she loses, he will own her and it will get worse from here. She then provides her some wrestling gear.

Before the next match, "The Perfect One" Shawn Stasiak says the difference between himself and Mark McGuire is that he does not have to put any cork in his bat, for he is "the home run king" and "absolutely the perfect one." Afterwards, Captain Rection shows up with Curt Hennig for the next match.

"The Perfect One" Shawn Stasiak beats Captain Rection after Curt Hennig grabs Stasiak only to toss him out of the way as Captain Rection goes for a splash in the corner, allowing Stasiak to hit the Perfectplex for the win. During the match, Miss Hancock is seen taking notes on the stage. After the match, Kevin Nash shows up and beats up Stasiak before hitting him with the Jackknife Power Bomb. Nash then grabs a microphone and asks Vince Russo what he was smoking last night, and says it had to be "the chronic" for Russo to hit him with a baseball bat. He then says that Russo did not kill him, he has to face him tonight. After stating that Russo is not the man he once knew, Nash then says he thought that the man he once knew, he then says that he thought they were friends, and that it was because of him that Russo found employment in WCW. He then says that if Russo wants to play, he'll play. He then proceeds to call Russo out. Also, all of ausdden, Konnan's music hits, and Konnan shows up with Kidman, Torrie Wilson and Rey Mysterio Jr., signifying that The Filthy Animals are back together. Kidman tells Nash that it is time that he learned his place in the pecking order: "the low man on the scrotum pole." He says that Vince Russo is too busy dealing with "real stars" to deal with a "washed-up old has-been" like him. He then says he cut down one giant, proving that bigger isn't always better, and is more than happy to do it again tonight. Konnan then tells Nash "Screw you and screw The Wolfpac," and says The Flithy Animals are back even after he got suspended and Rey got hurt, and that all that matters now is that Kevin Nash and his friends are going to pay for holding them back. The Filthy Animals gang up on Nash, but Hulk Hogan runs to the ring to make the save for Nash. Nash tells The Filthy Animals is that at the top of the mountain, it's hard for them to knock him and Hogan off, and if they want to see what they've got, then they can taken them on in a St. Louis Street Fight tonight. Hogan says he and Nash are going to "take a Russo and wipe our Bischoff" before beating the shit out of them.

Mike Awesome beats Diamond Dallas Page in a Stretcher Match. During the match, Kimberly shows DDP the divorce papers. DDP tears them up, but Awesome hits DDP with a steel chair as DDP is distracted. After a few DDTs on the steel chair, DDP is placed on the stretcher, btu DDP rolls back off and gets back in the ring.
