WrestleMania 15 - The Results

Boyz II Men sing The Star Spangled Banner.

Hardcore Holly beats "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn and Al Snow to become the WWF Hardcore Champion for a second time.

Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett retain the WWF Tag Team Championships against D'Lo Brown and Test after Ivory stopping Debra from being a distraction on the apron turns in a full-blown argument between Ivory, Debra, Test (who cannot even got along with D'Lo Brown for the whole match) and P.M.S. (Terri Runnels and Jacqueline), who also show up near the end of the match. This allows Owen and Jarrett to double-team D'Lo and thwart the Sky High. After the match, D'Lo confronts Test, and both men brawl outside of the ring.

We see a video package where Bart Gunn and his training team talk about Gunn's match against Eric "Butterbean" Esch tonight. Gunn's training team thinks Gunn can beat Butterbean in one or two rounds.

Isaac Hayes is seen in the crowd, as is Rodney and Pete Gas of the Mean Street Posse, as well as three friends of WWF co-owner Shane McMahon.

Before the next match, we are introduced to special guest referee Vinnie Pazienza, as well as the judges: former boxing trainer Kevin Rooney, former boxer Chuck Wepner and WWF Hall of Famer Gorilla Monsoon, who has not been seen since 1997 and is frail from being in ill health for some time. (This proves to Gorilla Monsoon's final WWF appearance.)
Eric "Butterbean" Esch knocks Bart Gunn out in the first round with 27 seconds left. (Bart Gunn ends up being released after this match, and after this, the Brawl For All tournament is never done again and rarely mentioned ever again.) After the match, the world-famous San Diego Chicken shows up and tries to fight Vinnie Pazienza.

Kevin Kelly interviews Mankind. He says he did everything that was asked of him, but WWF co-owner Vince McMahon keeps throwing curveballs. He tried to be nice to "The Big Show" Paul Wight, but now he is going to see an angry young man.

Mankind beats "The Big Show" Paul Wight by disqualification after The Big Show choke slams Mankind through two chairs. As a result, Mankind is the special guest referee for the WWF Championship match between "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and The Rock. After the match, WWF co-owner Vince McMahon shows up and confronts The Big Show, asking if he realizes what he has just done. Big Show walks away, but Vince tells him not to make the mistake of walking away from him at WrestleMania, saying that he is Vince McMahon and that Big Show is a nobody. Paul Wight grabs Vince by the throat and almost choke slams him but lets him go. Vince tells Big Show not to make any more mistakes, and tells Big Show to belittle himself and that he is a nobody again before slapping him. This leads to Big Show knocking Vince McMahon out with a punch to the face. Big Show then tells Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson - and the crowd - that nobody owns him as he makes his way to the back. Mankind is taken to the back on a stretcher, and Brisco and Patterson have to help Vince to the back. Once they do, Vince says he will think of something concerning a special guest referee for the WWF Championship match, then demands he be given a mobile phone so that he can call the police and have Big Show arrested for assault.

Before the next match, Val Venis says he is going once again for the Intercontinental Championship, and tells the ladies not to fear as even the Intercontinental title will never keep his pants on.

"Road Dogg" Jesse James retains the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Val Venis, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock and Goldust in an Elimination Tag Team Match. Shamrock accidentally eliminates himself as well as Val Venis by count-out, and Ryan Shamrock accidentally costs Goldust the match when she accidentally grabs his leg instead of Road Dogg's, which leads to Ryan Shamrock being chewed out by Goldust and The Blue Meanie.

"The Big Show" Paul Wight is paced in an unmarked squad car outside of the arena.

Before the next match, the world-famous San Diego Chicken runs in and tries to attack Kane. Kane fights back and unmasks the man in the chicken suit, who happens to be baseball great Pete Rose, who got a Tombstone Piledriver from Kane at WrestleMania last year. Just like last year, he gets a Tombstone Piledriver, and referees and officials have to help Pete Rose to the back. When "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley shows up, he comes out of the crowd and hits Kane from behind with a low blow.

Kane beats "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley by disqualification. During the match, Chyna shows up and place some steel steps in the ring, and Kane uses them as a weapon only for Triple H to kick them back in his face and trip him face-first into them. After Kane hits Triple H with a choke slam, Chyna gets into the ring with a steel chair, telling him to leave Triple H to him, and hits Kane in the back with it, betraying him. As Kane confronts Chyna, Triple H takes the steel chair and hits Kane with it before sending him face-first into it with the Pedigree. Triple H then hugs Chyna after the match, confirming that Chyna is back in D-Generation X (Triple H, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn).

Kevin Kelly reports on who will be the special guest referee for the WWF Championship match between "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and The Rock, reporting that Mankind has been taken to a local hospital. WWF co-owner Vince McMahon shows up and says he has the best looking referee's shirt in his bag, and says he will be the special guest referee for the match.

Big Punisher is seen in the crowd.

Sable retains the WWF Women's Championship against Tori. During the match, Tori accidentally hits referee Jimmy Korderas with a cross body. As she readies Sable for a power bomb, Nicole Bass - from The Howard Stern Show as well as from Extreme Championship Wrestling - shows up and lays Tori out, then tells Sable to pin Tori. The referee comes to as Sable hits Tori with the Sable Bomb, and Sable gets the win.

Kevin Kelly interviews "Triple H" Hunter Helmsley, who says that Chyna is back home and that D-Generation X (Triple H, Chyna, X-Pac, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) is a full house again. He does not care if WWF co-owner Shane McMahon is the boss' son, as he had better bring everything he has as tonight, X-Pac will hand him his shiny corporate ass.

Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson try to attack X-Pac before the next match, but Patterson accidentally clocks Brisco.

Shane McMahon retains the WWF European Championship against X-Pac, after the introduction of a leather strap into the match as well as the attempted interference by Test, Rodney, Pete Gas and Shane's friends in the front row. The icing on the cake, however, is Chyna and "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Chyna distracts the referee as Triple H betrays X-Pac by hitting him with a Pedigree before placing Shane on top of X-Pac, revealing that Chyna is still in the Corporation and that Triple H is now part of it along with her. "Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn rush into the ring, but Triple H and Test make quick work of them. The lights then go out, and Kane shows up and chases Test, Shane, Triple H and Chyna out of the ring and towards the ring. Road Dogg and Billy Gunn check on X-Pac after the match.

The Undertaker beats The Big Boss Man in a Hell in a Cell Match. After the match, The Brood (Gangrel, Edge, Christian) rappel down from the roof of the arena to the top of the cell. They tear a hole open in the top of the cell, and lower down a noose. The Undertaker then wraps the noose around the Boss Man's neck and hangs him from the top of the cell after Paul Bearer takes the cell controls and raises the cell upwards. (A special harness inside Big Boss Man's ring gear allows him to be hung without being suffocated.)

We see footage from the WrestleMania Rage Party.

Michael Cole introduces Jim Ross, who will be calling the main event on commentary. Jim Ross tips his hat to Michael Cole, who heads to the back. Jim Ross says he cannot describe how this feel, but Jerry "The King" Lawler there could not be a better match for him to call.

Before the next match, WWF Commissioner "The Hearbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels shows up with referee Mike Chioda. Shawn says WrestleMania cannot happen without him, and that he is disappointed that he had to buy a ticket to get in. He tells Vince that if he has told him once, he's told him a thousand times that he has got to read the rule book, because if he did, he would know it states that there is only one man who can appoint an official at WrestleMania, and that one man is the Commissioner. He tells to "take that Jack LaLanne physique of [his]," get the hell out of here, and to not let the door hit him on the way out. He also proclaims that The Corporation is barred from ringside for this match, and if any member of The Corporation breaks the rules, he and Vince will have a fight out back.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin beats The Rock to become the WWF Champion for a third time. During the match, referee Mike Chioda is accidentally hit in the head with a steel chair by Austin, and he is replaced in the match by Tim White. Tim White eventually ends up being hit with a Rock Bottom, and Austin hits The Rock with a Stone Cold Stunner. Earl Hebner rushes in to become the referee for this match, but not in time as The Rock kicks out of the Stunner. As Austin grabs a steel chair, WWF co-owner Vince McMahon shows up. Austin flips Vince off as Hebner tells Vince to get out, and The Rock hits Austin with a low blow. Vince gets in the ring as Hebner tells him to get out, and Vince punches Hebner out before taking the boots to Austin along with The Rock. Suddenly, Mankind shows up, having left the hospital and clutching himself, and beats up Vince, taking over as the referee for this match having earned the opportunity to do so earlier tonight. Mankind is there to make the count after Austin counters the attempt at a second Rock Bottom with a Stunner to win the title. After the match, Austin and Earl Hebner, the latter of whom has come to, have a celebratory beer together. As Austin leaves, Vince yells at him, saying the WWF Championship is his. Austin punches Vince, gets him in the ring and hits him with a Stone Cold Stunner before pouring two whole cans beer on him.
