Raw Deal - Raw recap for May 20, 1996

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin beats "Wildman" Marc Mero by disqualification after Savio Vega shows up and whips Austin in the back with a leather strap. Marc Mero confronts Savio Vega after this.

We see footage of Ahmed Johnson in Kuwait as he wins the Kuwait Cup.

The King of the Ring qualifier tournament begins next week, and the first qualification matches is Ahmed Johnson vs. Vader and Goldust vs. The Ultimate Warrior.

The Ultimate Warrior signs copies of the "Warrior" comic in Astoria, New York.

"The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase guests on commentary for the next match.

Savio Vega beats The 1-2-3 Kid, then "Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up and brawls with Vega until The Kid roundhouse kicks Vega in the back of the head. Austin and The Kid then gang up on Vega before tying him up with his leather strap so "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase can place the chauffeur's hat on Vega's head.

We see footage from last night's show at Madison Square Garden. We see footage of Henry O. Godwinn and Hillbilly Jim catching Sunny come out of their locker room before Phineas I. Godwinn shows up to realize he's been caught. Later that night, The Godwinns would face The Bodydonnas (Skip and Zip) for the WWF Tag Team Championships, and after Sunny gets on the apron only to get a big kiss from Phineas, Phineas hits the Slop Drop and The Godwinns beat The Bodydonnas to win the WWF Tag Team Championships. Now the Godwinns will defend the WWF Tag Team Championships against The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn) on the Free-For-All before In Your House: Beware of Dog.

Jim Ross asks Paul Bearer if The Undertaker is ready for Goldust at In Your House. Bearer says 'Taker is ready, and that Goldust has crossed a very fine line and that it is time for him to meet the Grim Reaper. The Undertaker is in the casket that Bearer has brough to the aisle, and The Undertaker tells Goldust that this will be his future, and that he will take it upon himself to seal his fate in this casket. Suddenly, Mankind closes the casket on The Undertaker and seals it with a leather strap as Goldust and Marlena show up to keep Paul Bearer away from The Undertaker. When Paul Bearer tries to untie the strap, Mankind comes back and smacks the casket with a steel pole before tumbling the casket over. Officials try to stop Mankind to no avail until he leaves, and The Undertaker is helped out of the casket as Goldust and Marlena come back.

Jim Cornette says "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels will not be on commentary for this match as Clarence Mason has a restraining order prevent Michaels from being within 100 yards of Diana Hart Smith between now and this Sunday. Suddenly, WWF President Gorilla Monsoon arrives and reads the restraining order, then tells Howard Finkel something. Howard Finkel then announces that the restraining order is valid and that Monsoon will comply by ordering that Diana Hart Smith leave the ringside area immediately. Cornette and Mason are livid, and Shawn shows up to guest on commentary for the next match as Diana Hart Smith leaves with Monsoon and Mason.

"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels says once and for all that any allegations against him are false.

The show ends with Diana Hart Smith confronting "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels. Jim Cornette butts in and says "You wouldn't hit a woman, would you?" before Diana tosses a cup of water at Shawn. Shawn says he wouldn't hit a woman, then punches out Jim Cornette before advancing towards Diana. The last thing we see is The British Bulldog attacking Shawn from behind.
