Lex Luger camped out in front of the arena last night in order to face The Giant for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and not miss the match.
The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) beat Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock). During the match, it is announced that "Macho Man" Randy Savage is barred from the building, that Steve "Mongo" McMichaels was seen with Savage in the locker room (which leads to Mongo replying that something is in the works) and that starting on May 27th, Nitro will be two whole hours from 8 PM to 10 PM Eastern on TNT.
Chris Benoit beats "Squire" David Taylor. During the match, it is announced that "Hard Work" Bobby Walker has been injured and has been replaced in the Lethal Lottery Battlebowl by the returning Diamond Dallas Page, and that "Squire" David Taylor will replace The Belfast Bruiser as "Lord" Steven Regal's partner in the Lethal Lottery '96 Battlebowl due to the Bruiser's injuries in his recent street fight with Regal. When it is revealed that "Macho Man' Randy Savage is outside of the building, Steve "Mongo" McMichaels leaves the commentary table to talk to him.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund, surrounded by police, arena security and officials, tries to interview "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Savage walks away, but Steve "Mongo" McMichaels come out of the building and calls out "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair for hitting on his wife Debra and "involving family," telling Flair he made a mistake and that he's going to do something about it. He tells Savage to chill out because he's got a plan. Savage tells "Mean" Gene he hasn't crazy yet, and he plans to turn WCW upside down. He doesn't care about his recent fine, but he also says he doesn't have a problem with "dragging a dead tag team partner to the ring" and doing what he has to do to get the WCW World Heavyweight Championship back.
"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair beats V.K. Wallstreet with the Figure Four Leg Lock after Woman gives him some leverage. After the match, he, Woman and Miss Elizabeth head to the nearby banquet table for an interview from "Mean" Gene Okerlund. Flair tells "Macho Man" Randy Savage that he plans to knock WCW "on its ass" at Slamboree. When Okerlund mentions Steve "Mongo" McMichaels, Flair implies he's done more in sports than McMichaels, saying that he got his fingers manicured while Mongo got his fingers dirty becoming a four-time Pro Bowler.
Lex Luger retains the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and beats The Giant by disqualification. During the match, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Woman and Miss Elizabeth watch from the banquet table, and the view is wrecked when The Giant puts Luger through the banquet table, ending the match. Sting shows up and protects Luger from The Giant, and tells "Mean" Gene Okerlund that now isn't a good time for an interview as officials check on Luger.
