Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for May 6, 1996

Hugh Morrus beats "Macho Man" Randy Savage by disqualification after Morrus mocks Savage by wearing his glasses and jacket in an attempt to mock him, which leads to Savage gouging Morrus' eyes with the glasses and choking him on the ropes with his jacket. After the match, Savage continues to attack Morrus, but when the ref pushes Savage, Savage gets physical and hits him with a body slam and two elbows from the top rope. Officials and police officers all have to get Savage out of the ring.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Woman and Miss Elizabeth show up in fancy dress during the next match and watch the match from the VIP section.

Dean Malenko beats Jushin "Thunder" Liger.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Woman and Miss Elizabeth. Flair says that when you're on top of your own personal world, you do what you want to do when you want to do it. He, Woman and Miss Elizabeth are definitely styling and profiling, and Flair says that The Giant got lucky when he took the World title from him, saying that when the World title comes back around, The Giant will hurt. As for his and "Macho Man" Randy Savage's match against "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson and Eddie Guerrero in the Lethal Lottery, he tells Anderson not to make the same mistake again. Woman says that Flair will end up on top. He then says he knows a hot blonde in the audience who would like a cocktail with The Nature Boy: Debra McMichael, who is in the front row near the aisle again. The maitre'd hands her a drink. Debra takes it, then dumps it on the floor. Flair says that she knows Debra comes from Texas, and that he'll show her why he's an all-around cowboy. Miss Elizabeth says not to worry about the champagne, as "Randy has plenty of money."

Sting beats "Lord" Steven Regal.

Lex Luger is supposed to be in the net match, but he is strangely replaced by "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan. It is revealed that Luger has not arrived tonight, and that Duggan has volunteered to fill his spot in the match.

The Giant retains the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan. After the match, The Giant hits Duggan with another choke slam. Cobra shows up but is immediately laid out with a choke slam. The Cuban Assassin and "Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright fare no better, but Ric Flair shows up with a wooden chair, but even a shot to the head with it doesn't work. Sting shows up and hits The Giant from the air, and assaults the back of The Giant's leg before unloading with several rights and an eye poke for hitting the double sledge from the top. Jimmy Hart also gets by Sting in the progress. Sting then goes for the Scorpion Deathlock on The Giant and turns him over, but Jimmy Hart hits Sting in the back of the head with the megaphone. Sting confronts Hart, who runs away. Lex Luger finally shows up with a briefcase in his hands and calls The Giant off. "Mean" Gene Okerlund then interviews Sting and Luger, and both Okerlund and Sting want to know where Luger has been. Sting is starting to wonder what's going on with Luger after he's missed two big opportunities in two weeks. Sting and Luger continue to argue as the show ends due to lack of time.
