The show begins with a helicopter cam focusing on an 18-wheeler containing Diamond Dallas Page and Karl Malone, along with a police escort.
We see a performance by The Nitro Girls. Baseball player Wade Boggs is spotted in the crowd by commentary.
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Kevin Greene, who is not happy with happened to him in the ring last week. He praises Goldberg for saving him last week, and says he's the best wrestler in the last 30 years. He mentions his past with Goldberg as roommates when they were in the Los Angeles Rams, and mentions his and Goldberg's tag team match against The Giant and Curt Hennig at Bash at the Beach.
Kanyon beats Horace. Sic Boy and Kidman go after Kanyon after the match, but Kanyon makes quick work of them only to be attacked by Riggs. Raven shows up as the numbers game catches up to Kanyon, and Raven tells Kanyon that where he walks and stands, he walks and stands alone. He says that would have been admirable a generation ago, but today it is foolish. He then hits Kanyon with an Evenflow DDT.

He promises we will see Harlem Heat at their very best.
Little Dragon beats Eddie Guerrero. During the match, Chavo Guerrero Jr. shows up riding a hobby horse (which he deems "Pepe") saying "Come on, little trooper!" towards Eddie while making horse jokes, allowing Little Dragon to roll Eddie up as he is distracted and trying to steal Pepe. After the match, Eddie hits Little Dragon with the stick - the head being whisked off into the crowd and picked up by security - from the hobby horse, before Chavo gets the stick and the horse head back and runs away from Eddie.
Chris Jericho is seen talking to Ultimo Dragon in the locker room. Jericho tells Ultimo Dragon he will give him a title shot on Thunder if he beats Dean Malenko, as Ultimo Dragon is his favorite wrestler.
This week's Thunder will take place in Columbus, Georgia.

Richard Rodella and Rick Rodriguez from San Francisco, California are this week's Nitro Party Prize Pack winners. We see some footage of their Nitro party.

After the match, Hennig and Rude attack The Giant's quickly dominated opponents before tossing them out of the ring. He then says Greene is a piece of garbage and that he is a football player who wishes he was a wrestler, and if he or anyone wants to enter his sport, they should bring it into the ring and bring it now. He gives Wade Boggs a pass as Kevin Greene shows up, then Hennig dares him to get in the ring so he can squash him like a grape. He rushes into the ring, with Goldberg following close behind. When Goldberg hits the ring, Rude, Hennig and The Giant clear out of the ring.

Hogan then says Malone embarrass himself in the finals and on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and asks why he would embarrass himself by stepping in his world and getting in the ring with Dennis Rodman. He says black and white are the true nWo colors, and says he'll beat up DDP and Malone and give Rodman the night off.

He says Rodman is doing movies with Jean-Claude Van Damme while Malone is doing Rogaine commercials, and says Malone has a lawsuit coming because he is not delivering as "The Mailman." Scott Steiner also says that Malone will not deliver at Bash at the Beach, either. Scott Steiner says his next movie co-star is as genetically superior and good-looking as he is, and will bring him onto nWo Late Night next week.

He says Diamond Dallas Page and Karl Malone failed to show, and that he'll turn Dennis Rodman loose so they'll beat their brains out in San Diego, California. The 18-wheeler containing DDP and Malone is seen pulling up to the arena as Bischoff and Hogan continue to mock DDP and Malone, calling them losers as he boasts that he will wipe them out at Bash at the Beach. nWo Hollywood is seen outside of the arena as the 18-wheeler and the police escort shows up, but they all scatter when the truck pulls up. DDP and Malone enter the arena with steel chairs, and they quickly make their way to the ring, unbeknownst to Hogan and Bischoff. They clap their chairs together, and Bischoff is tossed out of the ring, leaving Hogan alone. Hogan tries to escape, but Karl Malone won't let him. Hogan and Malone eventually lock up, and Malone gets the upper hand on Hogan with a scoop slam before knocking him out of the ring with a few clotheslines. Afterwards, DDP tells Hogan he's just been slam dunked, and says it's a shame Rodman couldn't be here tonight. He and Malone then extend an open invitation to Dennis Rodman for next week. Malone tells Rodman that at Bash at the Beach, size does matter, and DDP says Rodman and Hogan will feel the bang.

WWF owner shows up with Gerald Brisco and WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter, as Pat Patterson is not here due to a death in the family. We see a red carpet in the ring and a glass case with the WWF Championship inside. McMahon says today is a glorious day, as there is a new WWF Champion. McMahon announces this is the dawning of a new era of popularity and prosperity, of respect and dignity and even civility, as if a breath of fresh air has cleansed the WWF of the foul mouth, the unseemly hand gesture and the beer swilling. He says this champion who is a man among men whose lips have never so much as tasted an alcoholic beverage or uttered an obscenity in his entire life, and his only gesture to salute the flag of the United States of Championship. He says this champion is a role model and a champion for the new millennium, and that this champion is Kane. Kane shows up with Paul Bearer. McMahon then asks Bearer to put into words what he is feeling at this moment. Bearer announces the WWF is indeed a place where dreams can come true, and there is no way anyone can understand what this momentous occasion means to himself and Kane this evening, and that unless you have walked a mile in Kane's shoes, you cannot realize it. Bearer says he was there for 20 long years, as he watched his son Kane sit in a room with his dreams and pictures of The Undertaker all over the room as he watched Superstars every Saturday morning and told him "I want to be like him." Bearer told Kane he could be better than The Undertaker and says it is not wrong to dream. He says Kane was ridiculed and teased and put down, but tonight, for the first time, The Undertaker is standing in the shadow of his little brother. Brisco then removes the glass case covering the WWF Championship so that McMahon can ceremonially hand the WWF Championship to Kane. Kane says it is an honor to put the title around his waist voluntarily, but before he can do just that, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up and tells Vince that Kane never busted him open and that The Undertaker was the one who did it. Austin then demands a rematch for the WWF Championship tonight, and that all Vince has to do is say he's got it. Vince says everyone would love to see that rematch, and Austin tells Vince to get the stupid look off his face and give it to him. Vince then believes that Austin doesn't deserve the rematch, but Austin asks for a "hell yeah" if the fans want a rematch, which they do. Vince changes his mind, and says it's okay with him as long as it's okay with Paul Bearer. Austin puts Paul Bearer in the hot seat and asks the same of him. Bearer tells Kane to tell Austin, but Austin isn't having any of it and tells Bearer to grab the microphone and start talking. Bearer says it's all right with him if it's okay with Kane. Austin dares someone in the ring to have some guts, and asks Kane to give him the rematch tonight. Austin tells Kane he's bigger than The Undertaker now that he has the WWF Championship, and that The Undertaker won it for him and handed the belt for him, then tells Kane to ask himself if he could have beaten "Stone Cold" Steve Austin fair and square, and if he doesn't get the reamtch, he'll never know. Austin asks for the rematch, and Kane shakes his head yes. The rematch is on. Paul Bearer is livid.
The encore for King of the Ring is tomorrow night on pay-per-view.
Before the next match, Sable shows up with a note. She says that WWF owner Vince McMahon is pleased and proud to announce the signing of one of the greatest wrestlers in the world to a WWF contract: Steven Regal, who left World Championship Wrestling sometime last year. Sable guests on commentary for the next match, and says she is unable to discuss her agreement with Vince McMahon and Titan Sports that has allowed her to come back to the WWF.
Steven Regal beats Darren "Puke" Drozdov with the Regal Stretch in his WWF debut.
Michael Cole interviews new King of the Ring, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, who says it's good to be king. He has competed in many, many fights in his career with the UFC and over in Japan, and says the King of the Ring Tournament was one of the hardest things he's ever had to do, calling it "a great accomplishment." He gives credit where credit is due and admits "The Rock" Rocky Maivia is a true champion and a true warrior. Suddenly, Owen Hart shows up and tells Shamrock to spare him the sugar-coating and sucking up, saying he won the tournament and is a better king than he'll ever be. He dares Shamrock to get in the zone and then get in his zone to see who the better king is tonight. Shamrock says Owen can talk, but asks if he can walk the walk. He also remembers Owen breaking his ankle, then accepts his challenge and says he's got nothing but pain to look forward to. "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Chyna show up, and says that he is "the King of Kings" and that one is not a king unless they step in the ring with him. He makes the challenge into a three-way dance, and asks if they're going to do something or just talk about it. Shamrock accepts the challenge for the Triple Threat Match.
We see "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman warming up in the locker room, followed by the rules for the Brawl For All Tournament, which starts tonight and combines boxing, wrestling and other methods of fighting. There are three one-minute rounds, there is a point system where takedowns are worth five points, knockdowns are worth 10 points and the person who lands the most punches per round earns an extra five points. Knockouts end the match. Danny Hodge will be the official for the Brawl For All.
"The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman beats Marc Mero to continue to the next round of the Brawl For All Tournament after Blackman racks up a lot of points from takedowns. Within the middle of the first round, it becomes readily apparent that the fans are not interested in the tournament, and when both Mero and Blackman go to the corner after the end of the second round, the crowd starts chanting "We want wrestling!"
Kevin Kelly is in front of Kane's locker room, and that Kane will reveal why he accepted "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's challenge for a WWF Championship rematch.
Kevin Kelly interviews Kane, who says he has granted "Stone Cold" Steve Austin a rematch because he knows he can beat Austin again, then grabs Kelly and tells him he is a better champion than The Undertaker ever was.
The Undertaker is seen heading to the arena.
Before the next match, Val Venis chases after Yamaguchi-san with a steel chair and looks at Yamaguchi-san's wife (who is sitting at the corner near the ring), then says that if the ladies in the home of the Cleveland Indians want to get to first base with him, all they have to do is choke up n that bat and swing for the long balls.
Val Venis beats Dick Togo. During the match, it is announced that WWF Footbrawl will come to the Foxboro Stadium at noon on Saturday, August 8. Also, Dustin Runnels briefly guests on commentary during the match to spread the word of God. After the match, Val Venis looks at Yamaguchi-san's wife again, then Yamaguchi-san slaps him. Sho Funaki and Men's Teioh attack Venis from behind, but Venis gets a steel chair and lays them all out. We then see Edge in the stands.

Before the next match, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock attacks Owen Hart from behind as Owen Hart makes his way to the ring. "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley waits in the ring as Hart and Shamrock go at it.
"The World's Most Dangerous Man' Ken Shamrock beats Owen Hart and "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley in a "King of Kings" Triple Threat Match after "The Rock" Rocky Maivia knocks Triple H with the Intercontinental title and Shamrock knocks Owen Hart into the guardrail with a pull of the top rope. After the match, a brawl between The Nation of Domination ("The Rock" Rocky Maivia, "The Godfather" Kama Mustafa, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry) and the rest of D-Generation X (X-Pac, "Road Dog" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) erupts on the stage while Hart and Shamrock continue to go at it. Owen Hart tries to snap Shamrock's ankle again with a Figure Four Leg Lock on the ring post as referees try to pull him off Shamrock.
The Undertaker shows up. He says he owes nobody anything, not even an apology, but explains why he came to the ring last night. He says it is common knowledge that there is no love lost between him and Kane, mainly because of Paul Bearer's mind manipulation. He says the day may come where he and Kane may have to destroy each other, and if so, so be it. However, he did not want to see his little brother Kane set himself on fire to live up to his legacy and also exceed it, and says he did what he had to do. WWF owner Vince McMahon shows up, and implies The Undertaker has compassion for Kane before saying he really did it because he knows he can beat his brother for the WWF Championship and because he doesn't think he can beat Austin. He calls The Undertaker "the most vile, contemptible and evil individual the Devil ever placed on this earth," and that Hell hath no fury in what he will find if he interferes in tonight's WWF Championship rematch.
We see Bradshaw training on a punching bag backstage, while wrist tape is wrapped around Mark Canterbury's (the legal name of them formerly known as Henry O. Godwinn) wrist.
Bradshaw beats Mark Canterbury (formerly known as Henry O. Godwinn, now going by his legal name) to continue to the next round of the Brawl For All Tournament after landing more punches than Canterbury.
Kevin Kelly is backstage, trying to get an interview with The Undertaker.
Edge is seen in the crowd again.
L.O.D. 2000 (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) show up and tell the Cleveland, Ohio fans that they have a surprise for them. Some time ago, there was a great man who came and saw great success in them, and brought them to the wrestling world and every title possible in wrestling. Now, they introduce - and re-united with - "Precious" Paul Ellering, their manager, who has been on the sidelines for a long time. Hawk calls Ellering "the greatest thing to happen to Cleveland and the best thing to come out of Cleveland since they ditched Albert Bell" before calling Bell "a stinkin' loser." He says Ellering brought them to the top, and now they are reborn with Ellering, who he calls their greatest friend and mentor, and Hawk says that Ellering is proud to be back and must have something to say. Before Ellering can say anything, Skull and 8-Ball show up, and Ellering them to his new team, 8-Ball and Skull, proving Ellering's return was all a set-up. Ellering hits Animal and Hawk with is copy of The Wall Street Journal as Skull and 8-Ball go on the attack.
Kevin Kelly interviews The Undertaker, who says that nobody tells him what to do.
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin beats Kane to win back the WWF Championship. During the match, The Undertaker shows up and watches from ringside. After the match, The Undertaker gets in the ring, and The Undertaker grabs at Paul Bearer, distracting him. Austin runs up to The Undertaker and hits him with the Stone Cold Stunner, just like he did Kane, and both Kane and The Undertaker get up simultaneously, and stare at Austin as he leaves.
After the show goes off the air, Kane and The Undertaker brawl in the ring. The Undertaker hits Kane with a choke slam and leaves, punching Paul Bearer on his way out.

King of the Ring 1998 - The Results
Taka Michinoku and The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) beat Kaientai (Dick Togo, Men's Teioh, Sho Funaki) in what is advertised as a bonus match.
Sable shows up and introduces WWF owner Vince McMahon, who arrives with Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco. Patterson tells her to get out of the ring, and before she does, she slaps Patterson in the face after he pats her on the rear. Gerald Brisco demands respect for Vince, but it only makes the crowd boo louder. Vince says he is glad everyone in the arena joined him them tonight, and it becomes apparent by Vince asking the crowd want they want that they want to see "Stone Cold" Steve Austin retain the title and Kane set himself on fire. Vince suggests that the crowd is setting themselves up for one big disappointment, but it comes to no surprise as their entire lives has been symphonies of disappointments to the point that they were disappointments to their parents and that their parents disappointed them, too, and they will blame everything but themselves and know what failure and disappointment are all about. Vince then says he stands before the crowd tonight to soften the blow of the disappointment they will eventually feel and prepare them for what they are going to feel when Austin is no longer WWF Champion. He warns them of the inevitable when Kane takes the title.
"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock beats "Double J" Jeff Jarrett with the ankle lock to continue to the finals of the King of the Ring Tournament despite interference by Tennessee Lee. Tennessee Lee rushes into the ring after the match only to eat a belly-to-belly suplex. Michael Cole then interviews Shamrock, who says he has one more peak to climb and that he will not be second best.
Before the next match, "The Godfather" Kama Mustafa and "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry are ejected from ringside.
"The Rock" Rocky Maivia beats Dan "The Beast" Severn to continue to the finals of the King of the Ring Tournament after "The Godfather" Kama Mustafa and "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry rush back in and distract the referee so that D'Lo Brown, who hasn't been seen in weeks, gets on the top rope with a chest protector around his torso and hits Severn with a frog splash before leaving through the crowd. Michael Cole interviews The Rock, who tells "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock he will have to go through him and that he'll make him hit rock bottom.
Jerry "The King" Lawler inundates Al Snow with head jokes before Al Snow says the head doesn't lay down for anybody. It is then announced that Lawler is the special guest referee for the next match.
Too Much ("Too Sexy" Brian Christopher and "Too Hot" Scott Taylor) beat Al Snow and Head after special guest referee Jerry "The King" Lawler hands Christopher an empty bottle of Head and Shoulders anti-dandruff shampoo so that Christopher can screw the bottle underneath Head and pin Head, who is the legal man, to get the win. During the match, it is announced that an interview with "The Rock" Rocky Maivia and "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock is available on the WWF Superstar Line.
X-Pac beats Owen Hart. During the match, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry hits X-Pac with a splash out side of the ring, which causes Chyna to confront him. Henry is then attacked from out of nowhere by Vader, who brawls with Henry and takes it to the back as Chyna hits Owen with a DDT as he has X-Pac in the Sharpshooter. X-Pac taps out, but the referee is too busy with what's going on outside the ring to see it. X-Pac rolls on top of Owen to get the win.
Paul Bearer shows up, as promised. He says he wouldn't miss tonight for the world, afte taking two of the worst beating he has ever taken from The Undertaker, who he cursed to Hell with every stitch taken out of his forehead. For 20 years, his son Kane sat all alone in his home, in his room, surrounded by pictures of his brother, and watch Superstars and tell him "Dad, I want to be like him." His whole life, Kane suffered and was ridiculed, and couldn't even go outside due to the sun hurting his scars. Tonight will be the happies night of his life, for when he leaves this ring, he will be the father and manager of the WWF Champion. He says the crowd can laugh all he wants, for in the end, he will be laughing all the way to the bank.
The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dog" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) retain the WWF Tag Team Championships against The New Midnight Express ("Bombastic" Bob Holly and "Bodacious" Bart Gunn) after Chyna hits Jim Cornette with a low blow to stop him from interfering. During the match, former tag team partners Billy Gunn and Bart Gunn stare down when both of them get in the ring for the first time in the match at the same time.
"Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley guest on commentary for the next match, while Chyna guests on Spanish commentary.

The Undertaker beats Mankind in a bloody, brutal and violent Hell In A Cell Match - the second in WWF history, but one that will go on to to be viewed as an Attitude Era and WWF classic for years to come, if only for its sheer brutality compared to the WWF norm. Before the match begins, Mankind tosses the steel chair he came to the ring with to the top of the cell wall, and climbs up to the top. When the bell rings, Mankind and The Undertaker fight on the top of the cell, then The Undertaker tosses Mankind off the edge, and Mankind lands back first onto the Spanish commentary table. Jim Ross reacts with the legendary line "Good God almighty! Good God almighty! That killed him!" followed by "As God as my witness, he is broken in half!" Terry Funk has to check on Mankind after the feet-long fall, as does WWF owner Vince McMahon and WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter along with a host of referees. It is noticed by those checking on him that something has happened to one of Mankind's shoulders. The cell rises up somewhat with The Undertaker still on top of it, while a stretcher is prepared for Mankind. As Mankind is wheeled halfway down the aisle, The Undertaker climbs down from the cell. Mankind rises from the stretcher, and heads back towards the cell with a smile. Both men climb back up, and The Undertaker choke slams Mankind through the ceiling of the cell and onto the ring below. Jim Ross replies with "Will somebody stop the damn match?" as everyone checks on Mankind again, and The Undertaker drops down to the ring. He choke slams Terry Funk out of his shoes, then goes for the clothesline off the top rope only for Mankind to run into the ropes and crotch him. Mankind is then seen smiling as blood comes out of his mouth, then The Undertaker and Mankind continue fighting, and cannot even pick up the steel steps, which The Undertaker rams repeatedly into Mankind's injured shoulder. Later in the match, it is noticed that a tooth is protruding from out of Mankind's nose, and Mankind introduces a bag full of thumbtacks, and after a series of reversals into the Mandible Claw, The Undertaker recovers, carries Mankind on his back and slams Mankind back first into the them. After a choke slam back into the thumbtacks, Mankind gets up and walks into the Tombstone Piledriver. The match ends, and referees and medical staff check on Mankind again. EMTs try to take Mankind to the back, but Mankind still insists on leaving the ring under his own power. Terry Funk, Slaughter, referees, and two WWF doctors help Mankind to the back as the fans give Mankind a standing ovation.

During the match, Austin is seen wearing bandages over his right elbow due to a staph infection and a 100 degree fever that left him in the hospital for three days. Also during the match, the cell from the previous match is lowered again, and when Austin and Kane are near the ring after some fighting, the cage is completely lowered after nearly coming down on Austin twice. After some fighting, the cell is then suddenly raised, and Kane is almost taken upwards with it. We also see Vince McMahon and Sable watching the match from the luxury box. At one point, Kane tosses Austin throat-first into referee Earl Hebner, pinning Hebner between Austin and a guardrail and knocking him out. Mankind, somehow still standing and moving around after the previous match, shows up minutes later with a steel chair and gets involved, and after Mankind gets in the ring, the cell lowers as Austin hits Mankind with a Stone Cold Stunner before doing the same to Kane to avoid a choke slam. The Undertaker shows up with a steel chair, and as Austin goes for Kane with Mankind's steel chair, The Undertaker knocks out Steve Austin, sending Austin's chair into his own head and busting him open. The Undertaken then places Earl Hebner back in the ring before taking a can of gasoline and pouring it on Hebner. Kane hits The Undertaker in the back with a steel chair, but Hebner is revived. Austin keeps fighting, the referee still not seeing Austin buster open. Hebner sees Austin after he hits Kane with a steel chair, and Kane wins the match and the WWF Championship. Vince McMahon is then seen in the luxury box, satisfied with his efforts as the show comes to an end.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for June 22, 1998
"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Diamond Dallas Page, who is jacked to be in Jacksonville, Florida. He says it's a dream match come true for him when he and Karl Malone go up against "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and Dennis Rodman. He says it's personal between him and Hogan, and he hasn't forgotten. He says he is tired of Hogan, saying he worked real hard, and now he does, too, and says Hogan doesn't want it bad anymore like he does. He says he wants it bad, but not as bad as Karl Malone wants Dennis Rodman. He calls Malone one of the hardest working guys he's ever seen, and after he saw him getting attacked last week, he let him know he had his back and that he wanted to get in the ring with him. He says that Rodman and Malone are totally different people, calling Rodman a genius at marketing but a dead man in the ring. At Bash at the Beach, Rodman and Hogan are going out with a bang.

Suddenly, Curt Hennig and Rick Rude, and Hennig tells Greene to go back to the football field. As Greene dares Hennig to go at it with him, he is attacked from behind by The Giant. Hennig and Rude also attack him before they and The Giant leave. Greene gets back to his feet after a little while, then calls them out before running to the back.
We see some footage from during the break, where referees, officials, security and even wrestlers and WCW Executive Committee J.J. Dillon have to hold both men back. Dillon makes a match between The Giant and Kevin Greene for later tonight.
Yuji Nagata beats Tokyo Magnum with the Nagata Lock. After the match, we see Stevie Ray beat up "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, and four security guards are barely able to hold Stevie Ray back.
Raven says that people say he walks away from his problems and from responsibility. He's walked away form a broken home and broken dreams. He says his father didn't show much emotion, but if he ever had a bad day at work, he knew he would feel the brunt of it. He says it is better to feel something than nothing. People also say he's cruel, but sometimes, you have to be cruel to be kind.

As Stevie Ray walks away with Booker T, Stevie Ray is counted out.
Eric Bischoff, Miss Elizabeth, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, The Disciple and Scott Steiner show up. Bischoff and Elizabeth agree that life without "Macho Man" Randy Savage is sweet, then Bischoff calls Hogan the shining light to his path through the industry and the one who has showed him what it means when people in Hollywood say "break a leg." This reminds him of Savage's leg and how nWo Hollywood broke it, and says the only thing Elizabeth only wanted Savage for his pocketbook, and that Elizabeth would rather have him than Savage. He says that Savage has learned like everyone else that he is the one that has made professional wrestling what it is today. He then mentions stage two of his master plan, when he and Dennis Rodman "outclass, outwrestle and outpunk" Diamond Dallas Page and Karl Malone, saying he is only famous for his wife and for taking out the garbage and washing the dishes. He also calls Malone "the biggest loser for getting in the playoffs and having his butt kicked." At Bash at the Beach, he will crush Page and Malone and drag them back to Venice Beach to feed them to the killer whales.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for June 22, 1998
RAW
WWF owner Vince McMahon shows up to start the show and introduce Kane, who appears without Paul Bearer, who is seen watching at home via satellite. Vince tells Kane that when he faces "Stone Cold" Steve Austin for the WWF Championship, it will be the greatest day of his life, as the days of torment, a childhood that was nothing short of a living hell and an excess baggage of rejection, ridicule, scorn and abuse as an adult will all be gone forever as he takes his place in the rarefied air of those who have overcome all odds to become WWF Champion as he is destined to be. He says no force or man can stop destiny, not even "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, and as Kane stands, Vince says Kane dedicates his match to Austin and challenges Austin like he has never been challenged in his life as their match at King of the Ring will be one never been done before with no pinfalls, submissions, count-outs or disqualifications and the winner will be the one who draws first blood on his opponent. Vince deems the match a First Blood Match, and asks Austin how confident he is to retain the WWF Championship. Vince states Kane is so confident that he will offer, in writing, a special provision in the contract that states the following. Kane takes a electrolarynx from the belt of his bodysuit, presses it to his mandible, and speaks for the very first time. Kane says that if he does not win the title, I will set himself on fire, spooking Paul Bearer in the privacy of his own home. Vince repeats this statement, adding that Kane will breathe his last breath.
Before the next match, "The Rock" Rocky Maivia, Owen Hart and "The Godfather" Kama Mustafa are ejected from ringside by referees and by WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter.
"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock beats "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry to continue to the semi-finals of the King of the Ring Tournament after Vader takes Henry out at ringside behind the referee's back. During the match, The Undertaker is reported to be on his way to the arena. After the match, Kevin Kelly interviews Shamrock, who says he's come too far to quit now, and that there's one more hill to climb and that he'll be on top when all is said and done. We then see Edge in the crowd, and it is announced he will be making his WWF debut tonight.
X-Pac, "Road Dog" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn test the Super Soaker CPS 3000 on the director.
Before the next match, Dustin Runnels is seen down on one knee as if in prayer.
X-Pac beats Dustin Runnels after Chyna trips Runnels from ringside. After the match, "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley shows up, and X-Pac tells Dustin Runnels to suck it as Dustin Runnels tries to show good sportsmanship. Runnels then goes back to kneeling down in prayer at the corner.
Paul Bearer is interviewed via satellite from his home. Bearer says he'll know Kane will set himself on fire, as Kane will do anything he set his mind to do. He then goes on to say that Kane won't have to do it, as he will be at ringside with him where he has always been. He says Vince was telling the truth when he said Kane was living in torment, but he won't have to anymore as he will be at Kane's side when Kane becomes WWF Champion.
Edge is seen in the crowd again. (He is seen in different positions in the crowd throughout the show up until his match.)
Jerry "The King" Lawler is in the ring. He says he has been having problems with Al Snow, whom he calls "an idiot" who carries a mamnnequin head around. He says that he knows Al Snow is in the back, as he went into the cleaning lady's closet, took her dress, and tried to disguise himself with it. Lawler produces a piece of paper, and says he has something for him and asks him to come to the ring. Snow shows up, dressed like a cleaning lady as described, with Head wearing Lawler's crown, which Lawler claims Snow has stolen. Lawler says he ahas something Snow wants, and Snow has something he wants. He offers to trade the appointment with WWF owner Vince McMahon for the crown. AL Snow berates Head for stealing the crown, then commits to the trade. Snow then reads the document only to find out it is not an appointment with Vince, but a contract, and that they will have a tag team match against Too Much ("Too Sexy" Brian Christopher and "Too Hot" Scott Taylor) at King of the Ring, and they have to win the match in order to become part of the WWF. Snow says that if Vince gets his jollies in seeing him lose, it might as well happen now. Snow gets on the mat and tells Lawler to get it over with. Lawler calls out Too Much, and Snow gets up off the mat to hit both of them with Head before leaving the ring, telling Jim Ross the head doesn't lay down for anybody and leaving through the crowd.
Kevin Kelly is outside "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's locker room, ready to get Austin's answer to Kane's stipulation at King of the Ring.
The camera focuses on Edge in the crowd again.
"Double J" Jeff Jarrett beats "Marvelous" Marc Mero to continue to the semi-finals of the King of the Ring Tournament. During the match, Jacqueline dares Tennessee Lee to fight her, which in turn distracts Jarrett. Mero hits a low blow and the TKO on Jarrett, but the referee is still distracted. Sable shows up, which distracts Mero. Jarrett hits a DDT after blocking a kick, and gets the win. Kevin Kelly interviews Jarrett, who says he is the greatest singer, entertainer and wrestler, and on Sunday, he will become King of the Ring.
WAR ZONE
Before the next match, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn is ejected from ringside by the referee.
Kane beats "Road Dog" Jesse James. Paul Bearer is on the TitanTron and also seen via satellite, and Bearer says he is healing slowly and that he will be at King of the Ring. He says he knows about The Undertaker's collusion to destroy "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, and that The Undertaker tried to shut him up last week. Suddenly, the lights in his house start to dim, but as Bearer days he'll be at King of the Ring at Kane's finest hour, we hear a woman scream followed by The Undertaker beating up Paul Bearer, asking Bearer if he thought he'd forget where he lived as he also wrecks the house. As this happens, the satellite feed cuts out.
Edge beats Jose Estrada in his WWF debut. Before the match, Edge comes to the ring through the crowd. During the match, Edge accidentally breaks Jose Estrada's neck after somersaulting on him from over the top rope, and officials and medical staff have to check on him after the match.
Mankind has to calm Kane down in the locker room after what The Undertaker did to Paul Bearer in his home.
We see footage of Jose Estrada being placed on a stretched before being wheeled out to the back.
Dan "The Beast" Severn beats Owen Hart by submission with a bow and arrow lock after X-Pac blasts Owen with a steel chair. During the match, Owen Hart tosses a steel chair into the ring. Severn picks it up, and Owen tries to leave as the referee tries to wrestle the chair away from Severn only to be hit in the back by X-Pac. After the match, the rest of The Nation of Domination ("The Rock" Rocky Maivia, "The Godfather" Kama Mustafa, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry) get in the ring and check on Owen, who has suffered a laceration on the top of his head.
After the commercial break, "The Rock" Rocky Maivia calls out D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, X-Pac, "Road Dog" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn). DX shows up, and are immediately held back by referees, officials and WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter.

After the match, D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, X-Pac, "Road Dog" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) and The Nation of Domination ("The Rock" Rocky Maivia, Owen Hart, "The Godfather" Kama Mustafa, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry).
Mankind has to continue to calm Kane down in the locker room before heading to the ring.
Before the next match, Mankind says he always enjoyed studying history, and that when he was a young boy, he had a favorite that hung on his bed of old men gathered on the old fields of Gettysburg, Union and Confederate soldiers shaking each others hands on the fields where they shed each other's blood. As he speaks, the Cell comes down and surrounds the ring. To him, it was a shining example of the bitter angels of our nature, of the power of forgiveness, and the ability of time to heal all wounds. When he thinks about his history with The Undertaker, he realized that it would end up the same way until The Undertaker attacked Paul Bearer. Now he has a new vision of himself with his last act on earth urinating on his grave, and calls him a "cowardly son-of-a-bitch." He never thought the word "coward" would apply to The Undertaker, and says that while Paul Bearer is many things - a warm man, a loving father - he is not a wrestler or a fighter, and yet The Undertaker attacked him. He and Paul have every power to put The Undertaker behind bars, but this is a family matter and put him behind the Cell, as blood is thicker than water. He also says that he a surprise for everyone that they will not soon forget. He then asks Kane to listen close, as all is not lost, and when all is set and done, Kane will have the WWF Championship, he will have his vengeance and Paul Bearer will have The Undertaker's soul.
Mankind beats Billy Gunn with the Mandible Claw, then immediately heads to the back. During the match, Chyna is ejected from ringside. D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, X-Pac, "Road Dog" Jesse James) shows up and checks on Billy Gunn after the match. Mankind heads back to the locker room to look for Kane, but cannot find him.
Sable shows up and conducts an interview with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Austin says that there is no way Sable can't be out here by herself for no reason, and thinks something is going on. He asks her to go to the back, go to WWF owner Vince McMahon, flip him off and tell him it's from Stone Cold. If he's a marked man, he's not hard to find, and if anyone is around, all they have to do is show up so he can beat their ass. He accepts Kane's stipulations for King of the Ring, as he's bled before and is not afraid to bleed again, but when the WWF title is on the line, it means "[Kane's] big, dead ass" belongs to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Austin also says that if Kane is dumb enough to set himself on fire in the ring, he'll be bringing all the marshmallows, hot dogs and beer as he watches him burn out, and if he goes out, he'll lay another log on the fire. Fire shoots out from the stage, and Kane immediately shows up. He stares Austin down from the stage, then summons blood to drop from the roof of the arena before telling Austin that this Sunday, the blood on him will be for real.

Vince's Got A Shotgun - Shotgun Saturday Night recap for June 20, 1998
"The Godfather" Kama Mustafa - now known as just The Godfather - vs. Faarooq ends in a double count-out. Both men keep fighting after the match, and referees have to break up the brawl.
We hear from The Rock, who says he set out to do what he said he would do. After planting Vader with a Rock Bottom in the middle of the ring, he has "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, whom he plans to beat in order to go on to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to become the King of the Ring.

The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) beat The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh). During the match, Tennessee Lee and Southern Justice (Mark Canterbury and Dennis Knight) are seen watching the match from the stage.
