Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for May 6, 2026

Tony Schiavone is in the ring to start tonight's show. He addresses the passing of Ted Turner and his role of professional wrestling on national television and how it found a home on TBS and TNT. He talks about how Turner made National Wrestling Alliance and World Championship Wrestling destination video and how he was there early on, and how, thanks to Ted Turner, it lives on in Tony Khan, Warner Bros. Discovery and All Elite Wrestling. He says that everyone is here today because of Ted Turner, as does Sting, who was also part of NWA and WCW's rise on TBS and later TNT. Sting is introduced, and he heads to the ring. Schiavone links Ted Turner to him and Sting being friends all these years, and Sting calls Turner "an all-in billionaire who loved pro wrestling" who was completely committed and devoted to NWA and WCW, even when NWA and WCW were in the red, as he had deep pockets. He says that nobody would be here tonight, much less him, Darby Allin and the TBS and TNT Championships without Ted Turner. On the subject of tonight's show, Sting says he and Darby took a blowtorch to this place for three-and-a-half years. He says that it is a great night to see Darby Allin defend the world title, then calls Tony Kahn "another all-in billionaire who is keeping the ball rolling." Schiavone also mentions the Turner Techwood Mansions on the TBS and TNT Championships's side plates. Tonight's three-hour show is then deemed in honor of Ted Turner's memory, and Ted Turner is given a ten-bell salute. In memoriam: Ted Turner, 1938 - 2026.

Jon Moxley beats Juice Robinson in an AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match by submission with the bulldog choke after Juice Robinson passes out.

In footage from earlier today, Daniel Garcia talks about their recent 15-hour plane trip back from Japan and how it is The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, PAC, Daniel Garcia, "The Problem" Marina Shafir) against the world. Will Ospreay acts as a base for Wheeler Yuta's sit-ups before Jon Moxley mentions the concept of "death ground," a situation from which one cannot escape and it is do or die. He says that if Ospreay cannot get his neck right, his wrestling career is over, and that it is a privilege for Ospreay to come all the way up the mountain to meet the last one percent. PAC then covers the camera up with his hand.

Before the next match, FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Stokely Hathaway are accompanied by RPG Vice (Rocky "Azucar" Romero and Trent Beretta), The Dogs (Clark Connors and David Finlay) and Tommaso Ciampa, while The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong) are accompanied by The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson), Adam Copeland and Christian Cage.

Orange Cassidy beats Dax Harwood in a Double Jeopardy Match. As per pre-match stipulation, The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong) earn a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championships. (Had Dax Harwood won, FTR [Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler] and Tommaso Ciampa would have earned a shot at the AEW World Trios Championships.) After the match, everyone at ringside immediately starts brawling, and RPG Vice (Rocky "Azucar" Romero and Trent Beretta) are surrounded by Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) and The Conglomeration. RPG Vice are laid out for their trouble, with Christian Cage kicking Rocky Romero in the groin.

We see a video package for Rush.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Chris Jericho, who is now more than furious after last week. He says that the time for talking is done, and it is now time to fight. He then says he will take his fight to the people, and takes the microphone and heads to the ring. Jericho says he is done with the three-on-one beatdowns and "the bullshit," then demands that Ricochet talk to him face-to-face, one-on-one, man-to-man in the ring right here and now. Ricochet shows up with Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona, and Ricochet tells Jericho he tried to do him a favor by telling him to leave, but says Jericho decided to be funny. He also says that the three of them can make Jericho's humiliation kink a reality right now, then admits he is getting tired of this and wants to know what he gets out of facing Jericho. Kaun whispers in Ricochet's ear, which gives him an idea. Ricochet challenges Jericho to a match that Jericho himself created, and that he not only wants to beat him with the "Rico-sault," but also beat him in a Stadium Stampede Match. He also says that Jericho will not be able to find four other tag team partners because nobody in AEW likes him, but Jericho accepts the challenge and says he will find four other partners, and if he cannot, he will take Ricochet's team on alone. Jericho then calls Ricochet bald and hits him with the microphone, then fights off both Kaun and Toa Liona before hitting Ricochet with the Judas Effect. Jericho goes for a Lionsault, but is punched out by Toa Liona. All of a sudden, The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin) show up and run to the ring, causing Kaun and Toa Liona to retreat while carrying Ricochet to the back.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Mina Shirakawa and Harley Cameron. Harley does not know how to feel, but Mina says that Statlander may be trusted, Shida cannot be trusted, and they have a match to win. She tells Harley to stop looking out there and look in her heart, then tears Harley's shirt, revealing her bra underneath. Harley says that the wrath is back as she tears her shirt in half.

Don Callis guests on commentary for the next match.

"The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada retains the AEW International Championship against "The Bounty Hunter" Bryan Keith. After the match, Okada says he already has the International title, unlike "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita, but he wants more, and he is coming for the AEW World Championship.

We see a video package for Andrade el Idolo.

Backstage, we hear from JetSpeed ("The Jet" Kevin Knight and "Speedball" Mike Bailey). Speedball says that Kevin Knight will be a double champion, and Knight says that while he appreciates Darby Allin for being a fighting champion, Darby's body will give out and he will become the new champion.

Backstage, we hear from The Opps (Samoa Joe, "The Wrestler" Katsuyori Shibata, Anthony Bowens). Samoa Joe says he put out an offer last week, but it is not being heard. He says that men like Jon Moxley are telling Will Ospreay what to think, but he wants Ospreay to think as he wants. He says that he sees the potential in and the tide rising for Ospreay, then asks how much of Ospreay will remain to become champion and says that with The Opps on his side, that could be a very long time. After stating that he has signed Hook up for a movie to give him a better opportunity to succeed, he says that he will do the same for Anthony Bowens and Katsuyori Shibata, then tells Ospreay the choice is his and that his intentions for him are clear. Samoa Joe says he will put his hand out one last time, and if it is not accepted, he will put out his fist.

Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida beat Mina Shirakawa and Harley Cameron.

We hear from Prince Nana and Swerve Strickland. Swerve says that he told everyone two months ago that he was after power, and that real power is being the one who decides who eats and who starves. He says that from the most dangerous to the most violent, all the way to the most wanted, more power means more fear and more control, and there is nothing more dangerous than a man who wants power, and he wants it all.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Brodido (Brody King and Bandido). Bandido says that Swerve Strickland is right and that he is the most wanted, and if Swerve wants him, he is easy to find. Brody King tells Swerve that it is one thing to mess with him, but if Swerve messes with his friends, there will be hell to pay.

Darby Allin retains the AEW World Championship against "The Jet" Kevin Knight with a Coffin Drop on Knight as Knight is draped on the top rope followed by another Coffin Drop back in the ring.
