Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for May 16, 2026

Before today's show, "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock announces to the entire Memphis Wrestling roster that he is the boss now and that there will be trouble if they do not everything he says. He also talks about the cowboy hat that Vince Russo gave to him, claiming that Russo wore it when he was in World Championship Wrestling. Jay Smooth announces that Blaylock will be doing talent reviews, and if anyone is not on their A-game, they are out of here. Blaylock says that everyone will do as he says, whether they like it or not.

Dustin Starr interviews Big John Dalton at the announce desk. BJD says that his father, Big Daddy, has been battling Stage 3 cancer, and that his father's fight reminded him of his fight in the wrestling ring, and after some reflection, he says he has been doing this all wrong. He says that he is taking they keys to the WrestleCenter back and doing this for his father, for no one is promised another day, and that he is coming for gold.

"Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock guests on commentary for the next match.

The Hollywood Clique (Jay Smooth and Kale) beat The Super Friends (Wonder Boy and The Shocker) after "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock distracts the referee, allowing Jay Smooth to hit The Shocker with a low blow while the Secret Service agents keep Wonder Boy out of the ring.

We hear from "The Bounty Hunter" Bryan Keith. Tim Bosby interrupts, telling him to finish the job, but Bryan Keith tells Bosby that Bosby himself could not finish the job and that he will get the other half of his payment regardless.

Xya beats Bobbi Thunder by disqualification after Raven Black shows up. Xya is distracted, and this allows Raven Black to hit Xya with a bottle to the head after Bobbi Thunder clotheslines Xya out of the ring.

It is revealed that Moses has laid out Colton Cage in the WrestleCenter parking lot.

Before the next match, Moses drags "Cold Hearted" Colton Cage to the ring, allowing "The Gold Standard" Eli Knox to attack Colton before getting him in the ring to start the match.

"Cold Hearted" Colton Cage beats "The Gold Standard" Eli Knox to become the Memphis Wrestling Junior Heritage Champion for a second time after shoving Eli Knox into Moses, knocking Moses off the ring apron before hitting the Cold Hearted Cutter to win the match and the title.

Backstage, Kevin White meets with Tim Grind. Kevin and Tim agree that it is all about the kids, and that nobody cares about who beat who between then thirty years ago. Suddenly, Matchmaker King Cobra shows up and says he has the match between Tim Grind and Kevin White booked for next week, and leaves. Tim Grind and Kevin White are confused, as neither of them seem to have asked for this match.

Tim Bosby guests on commentary for the next match.

Mike Anthony beats "The Bounty Hunter" Bryan Keith. During the match, Mike Anthony hits the brainbuster, but Tim Bosby pulls senior referee David Knight out of the ring and distracts Mike Anthony. Anthony sends Keith into Bosby, knocking Bosby out of the ring. Bryan Keith tries to pin Anthony, but gets caught with his feet on the rope for leverage, and he powerbombs Mike Anthony and goes for a more legitimate pinfall attempt with a stack-up pin only for Anthony to kick out. Bryan Keith then leaves the ring and grabs the Heritage Championship to use it as a weapon, but David Knight tries to take it away from him. As both men have a tug-of-war with the Heritage Championship, Mike Anthony leapfrogs over David Knight, gets to Bryan Keith and hits him with the brainbuster for the win.
