Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for February 8, 2023

MJF beats Konosuke Takeshita in an AEW World Championship Eliminator Match with the Salt of the Earth. After the match, MJF shoves Paul Turner, then punches Konosuke Takeshita with the Dynamite Diamond Ring before hitting him with mounted punches. Suddenly, "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson shows up and chases MJF out of the ring. Medical staff check on a now-busted open Takeshita.

We hear from Samoa Joe, who says that all is right in the universe with him as TNT Champion again, and while he does not agree with how Darby Allin conducted himself in the ring, he is a worthy adversary. He then says that he does not consider Wardlow worthy, for he has taken his title and his scalp, and he has to take him down immediately. He says Wardlow wants to take the TNT title from, but he will take everything from Wardlow.

Jamie Hayter beats The Bunny in an AEW World Women's Championship Eliminator Match.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Toni Storm and Saraya. Saraya congratulates Jamie Hayter on winning tonight, then says she is a loser like everyone ese before bringing out Leva Bates so Toni Storm can beat up on her and Saraya can spray an "L" on her. Saraya then says she and Toni are here to take over, not make friends.

Backstage, Lexy Nair tries to get a word with MJF when MJF asks for Lexy to be let into his dressing room. MJF gives credit to Konosuke Takeshita for his talent, but says he is not as good as him. He then says "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson treats him like a scumbag and that a man does not know what he is made of until he faces adversity, then talks about having a bad driving record and how he and a girl in high school hydroplaned into a telephone pole. He then switched seats with "Liv" to make it look like he was not the one driving, then says the history books do not care how the job is done and that Danielson will not even come close to holding the AEW World Championship because he is a scumbag and "damn proud of it."

"Absolute" Ricky Starks beats "Cool Hand" Angelo Parker and "Magic Daddy" Matt Menard but loses to Daniel Garcia in the Guevara-Garcia Gauntlet thanks to a masked fan in the front row hitting Starks with a back elbow. After the match, the masked fan is none other than Chris Jericho.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster and Anthony Bowens). Billy Gunn says he has been pulled in two different directions and cares about both The Gunns (Austin and Colten Gunn) and The Acclaimed. He says that he will stay in the back and let The Acclaimed handle their business. Caster says that he supports Billy Gunn's decision, as does Bowens, then Bowens and Billy scissor.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson when the door to the trainer's room is suddenly shut and tightly sealed on everyone inside.

Before the next match, MJF heads to the ring and tells referee Aubrey Edwards that "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson is not here, and tells her to ring the bell and start the match right now. As MJF tries to get Danielson counted out, Danielson breaks out of the trainer's room with help from Konosuke Takeshita. Danielson avoids Jose the Assistant (who barred the door shut) and "El Perro Peligroso" Preston Vance as he rushes to the ring in time. MJF guests on commentary for the next match.

"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson beats Rush in a bloody match. After the match, MJF limps to the ring and punches Danielson out with the Dynamite Diamond Ring, then attacks him with mounted punches followed by the Salt of the Earth. Security runs in, but MJF punches them out. MJF locks the Salt of the Earth in again, then security gets to MJF and tries to pull MJF off of Danielson.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews Q and Murr from Impractical Jokers. The two of them talk about how they ribbed Chris Jericho for demanding a luffa-scented candle by stealing Floyd the baseball bat, and will only give it back if Jericho appears on their show.

Don Callis guests on commentary for the next match.

The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson) retain the AEW World Trios Championships against Top Flight (Darius and Dante Martin) and AR Fox.

We see a video package for Hook.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Stokely Hathaway. Stokely says there are no cracks in the foundation of The Firm, then says that everything going wrong lately is Hook's fault. Hook then shows up, hooks him by the arm and says "Be cautious with those words, sir."

The Gunns (Austin and Colten Gunn) beat The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) to become the AEW World Tag Team Champions! During the match, referee Stephon Smith is inadvertently hit with a rolling elbow from Bowens, and when Austin Gunn tries to use one of the tag title belts as a weapon, "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn stops him only to be blasted with the other belt by Colten Gunn. After a few near-falls from Austin Gunn and Anthony Bowens, Colten hits Bowens in the head with a tag title belt, and Austin Gunn pins Anthony Bowens with a schoolkid pin as a downed Stephon Smith makes the three count. br />
